  1. That's great to hear friendo! See? Taking your time is better than running around thinking the zombies will never catch you. A great deal of dragging involves moving quite slowly; no sprinting necessary.
  2. Very nice list indeed. There is nothing better than refreshing all the theories we've heard over the course of time. Hell, even the "worst" ones are still theories to be considered none the less. About the Element 115 though: sure, it may be true that it wasn't only 115 which created the zombies. What must be understood, however, is that Element 115 does not instantly turn a person into a zombie. Rather, it actually does nothing until that person dies. Upon death, the 115 acts as a catalyst for re-animating the dead cells. Thus, a zombie is born. Being exposed to it has several side effects which are well known, such as paranoia and schizophrenia. None of them involve dying though. By that standard, you could die by heart attack and still become a zombie. There is a very special case in which something extraordinary happens when not fully dead, but still being zombified. In example, look at George Romero in Call of the Dead.
  3. We're looking for May's Pic of the Month! Please submit your entry to me via PM. Thanks!

  4. Appreciate the comments, friendos. Ads aren't easy, and a great deal of us think back to "but CoDz was meant to be ad-free". As Grill already said, times change, and it's costly to run the server while offering everything that we can in order to remain afloat. Donations help us going, and with what we have in store coming very, very soon....well, we'll make sure to leave it as a surprise. But again, thank you guys for understanding our position right now. We're all family.
  5. Very clever, Nai. That made me chuckle. And i rarely chuckle. Leaderboards being erased is a bad server-call on 3arc's part. It could be even worse than Black Ops' leaderboard lock glitch.
  6. Sounds like an impending deathtrap, Eternal. Kind of that "better not be around that when it erupts" kind of thing. I agree with EJ; there ought to be more difficult bosses not because they are bulked up and have an insane health/power stat but rather their interesting attributes. Just as Riss said about the Pentagon Thief, he is a epitome of unique boss creation. He doesn't attack you; however, he steals your weapons, and speeds up as he gets hurt. And the payout for taking him down is your guns back plus a Max Ammo (or Bonfire Sale if he dies without snatching anything). In that case, there are particular variables you could consider in an enemy: Speed Fast and difficult to lock onto, but has mediocre health levels and doesn't deliver much damage to players. Better to take down with a group. Slow, but a complete brute. High health stats and damage outputs enough to make you go red in one hit. Of course, attacks are sluggish but requires a great deal of teammwork to take down. Defense High defense stats, but is fairly easy to wipe out with joined teammwork. Loading a great deal of gunfire for that finale explosion/defeat. Low defense points; however, the player must shoot a certain point to actually deal damage. Given that, it probably will not be easy to lock onto. Changing defense mechanisms will create an "armored" boss but upon certain circumstances (i.e. getting hit by explosive in certain way) will release its weak point, allowing players to nail into it before locking back into the armored position. Attack Volatile attacks can be generated in several circumstances. 1) When a player is too close to it. 2) When a player is stationary for too long. In these situations, looking for the critical point is a good idea. These kinds of bosses won't have a large attack radius but their hits will be fairly sluggish so timing is about everything. Weak attacks, but quite consistent. Suppose that these bosses generally move quickly, and will attack you whenever possible. Shouldn't bring you down instantly, but taking more than two hits at a time will be your demise with how fast they attack. Enemies that don't have any attacks would be unique. Like the Pentagon Thief or an offset of the Ghost in Buried, they will tend to have a unique ability such as stealing someone, switching up players' locations, altering their points, or making a player zombie-bait (if the boss is mid-round).
  7. As EJ was saying, your main concern will be walkers among the sprinters. See, sprinters are easier to take out because they flow together and never deviate from the path. Walkers/crawlers, however, will screw you over by getting in your way or forcing you to change routes. But I do have to disagree with one thing: training is not a fixed motion or direction. Rather, it's a systematic process of grouping all the zombies together in such a way where you can manage flood control. Once you group them accordingly, you take them out. Rinse and repeat. It's not to say that you shouldn't freestyle; in fact, it's encouraged because you may find yourself running the same tedious route for 10+ rounds when each round is the equivalent of half an hour even with infinite-damage weapons/traps. The only thing that actually changes in terms of difficulty is the amount of zombies. Health becomes irrelevant when you use those said traps or weapons. Pointed out like before, learning pro moves like cut-backs or drags can really strengthen your training abilities. You learn how to do more than just circles, figure-8s or simple kiting maneuvers. These techniques help you find new spots to train, how to get out of tricky situations where basic routes would spell certain doom, and you sharpen your danger senses. Practice using super basic, yet small to medium-sized maps. If you can pull of a successful train somewhere in Nacht der Untoten or Shangri-la or No Man's Land, you can certainly do it in any given map.
  8. Uncle Festo needs some help with the frontpage. If you're interested, please PM me. Thanks!

I would love to somehow incorporate my Zombies Library threads into the Maps Section. What could you do Dr Festium Inlith?

What is it that you need exactly?

  9. Shhhh, you ruined the surprise Nai.
  10. It's just part of the environment. Think of it like the equivalent of moving the bike around from the garage. They are there for the aesthetics.
  11. All titles have been updated and implemented.
  12. Gotta love randoms who take that kind of care to leave themselves in a good match instead of quit all together. I admit that I quit if I know I'll be gone for the entire day because I don't want to be that person who is AFK from every match. But in this scenario, it's relieving to know that some random in the Zombies universe is a team player. Kudos to him (and you guys).
  13. Welcome to the family, friendo! That stupid Panzer has gotten the best of us, believe me. We have a large community of fellow slayers that would love to help you around Origins (or any other map for that matter). Slay thirsty, my friend.
  14. It's a fairly slow AR; that's why it gets such a higher boost. The damage output is pretty high but not quite there compared to the LMGs. I enjoy it because 1) it's a wall weapon 2) the mobility of carrying it around is easier to control 3) Double Tap II works like a charm on it. The AN is my go-to weapon in Die Rise because you really won't need to rush for ammo again if you're controlling your firing rate.
  15. Moon is my favorite map of all time. Most people loathe it, but it seriously offers everything you need - open/narrow corridors, no gravity/artificial gravity, perfect gun placement, hacked weapons, all the works. Not to mention how easy it is to control your horde if you run the right paths. It gets really risky if not in artificial gravity, like below the Receiving Bay. My only complaint is how glitchy it can get. Broken excavators, lit lunar pads that are not functioning, moonwalkin' Astro Zombies, you name it. Nevertheless, it isn't exactly enough to end your game because once a glitch occurs, you know how to avoid it at all costs.
  16. Frontpage has been updated with new tidbits. ;)

It is, I've applied the fix that was supplied by the author but it's not what it should be.

It showing topic starter and last poster, but doesn't say who they are. I've asked for this to be fixed, as this isn't a fix. I've also been informed that views and replies were fixed with the update but they haven't been fixed either. So I'm on the case.

      Slade

      You the man, Craig.

One small thing though: ZB's (the last poster's) name is linked to his/her profile, Naitrax's isn't.

Yip, check out the reply in the site news for the ToTW ;)

  17. Thanks for the warm regards, friendos. But to be honest, I shouldn't be thanked - I'm just doing my duty. And Jay, this isn't something I can personally do alone because the bill is just ridiculously large at the moment. As staff, we have to make financial ends meet regardless of how we do so. Donations come in and help greatly, and we do use 200% of what we have towards keeping the site up. We've talked over several options to make it fairly cheaper without reducing the quality of what we have. Either way, I'll do whatever it takes to keep CoDz running safe and sound.
  18. Like PINNAZ was saying, several people thought the Mob of the Dead Side Quest steps were related to the Vorkuta escape steps. Treyarch probably got ahold of that and decided to implement it.
  19. We apologize for yesterday's inconvenience, folks. There was a slight problem with the host that we fixed temporarily. CoDz is back up and running, and we are currently discussing several ideas that will further prevent this action from happening once more.
  20. If you're going to do that, make sure to retrieve your staff prior to that step. I've made that mistake and lemme tell you - it's a pain in the ass without a Boomhilda or staff.
  21. I find Kino der Toten to be ultimately boring. It was great at first, but I've played it to the point where I can't stand being in it. Fun for the first, eh, hour and then I'm done.
  22. Well, here is a formal welcome to the family friendo! I know you've been with us already but nothing is wrong with familiarizing yourself once again.
  23. The Sliquifier. Because when I'm around, I tend to make people...slippery. [Or more so, I'm clumsy and always show a good time.]
  24. That is how the system works. I understand that you'd much prefer being Cerberus than a human, but this system was not designed to appease everyone so you could get the title that you specifically desire. As you move up the ladder, you will move onto the next title. There is no other valid reason to stay behind on a title that you already surpassed - it doesn't work that way. And yes, the staff keeps track of who moves on once you reach beyond Cerberus. The negotiation for how the system works has been long decided and is not up for remodeling.
  25. Ah, okay - pardon me for forgetting that brains were included. The Four Guardians titles have to be manually given to those who meet the post + brain requirements. Once we get the times implemented, then we will update MMX and Way accordingly. Apologies for that mistake!
