1) It's an object produced from the Aether. The design itself can be altered (i.e. Pandora's Box style for MoTD, Wooden Box for Samantha/Richtofen) depending on who is in control. There's no backstory to it, really. 2) I guess Buried just gave us an answer as to how wall weapons would be able to work in the game's reality. This magic chalk has a default weapon that can be placed pretty much anywhere. 3) The Aether is a separate dimension of time and space. To say that we can go there is like saying we can enter a non-existing realm technically. I think you might have Aether and Agartha - an ancient land filled with the history of the Vril-ya civilization - mixed up. That makes much more sense. In fact, many people speculated that we might see Agartha son due to Maxis opening the Rift to find Samantha according to Buried's Side Mission. 4) Group 935, more than likely. I'm not too familiar with their history but I know that the concept has been around since Mob of the Dead with the invention if the Electric Cherry, the first perk machine known to date in Zombies (unless Origins will prove us wrong). 5) I'm not too sure what you're question. You went from the Wunderwaffe to 115 to teleportation. If you are meaning the value of the element, just know that it is not found on Earth. What I mean by that is it originated not on this planet but is an extraterrestrial element. Its properties and energy is the likes in which we can't fathom. All we know is that it can fuel weapons to an abnormal degree, act as a catalyst for bending time and space, and altering certain objects as well as reanimating dead ones. 6) We can only guess. The first place we can take into date is indeed Der Riese, so you could do another "Group 935 created it" stance. I guess we just won't ever know that one. 7) Find out in Origins. Some say Samantha, some say Sophia, your guess is as good as ours. I think it mainly pertains to a person though.

Correcto, friendo. This image shows something that is beyond dead. It looks very well to be some kind of deteriorated zombie. The trailer fleshes out the figure a bit more to look more fresh, but it's just the same thing.

the maxis family?
InfestLithium replied to undeadarcademachine's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I highly doubt Maxis revived Sarah Faraday, the wife (and ghost) of the famous inventor Michael Faraday. The paintings throughout Buried are probably just the settlers that inhabited the town before it was buried. It kind of tells us the culture of the area and that this was a thriving area prior to its collapse. -
He controls the zombies at those points in time because he has been in control since Moon. Richtofen seeks for more power by commanding the crew to follow his instructions. At the same time, he has a habit of toying around with the survivors via zombies and whatnot. Just because he is using them as his pawns doesn't mean they get off easy.
-
I'm just happy that we finally get to see the true side of Richtofen prior to touching the MPD. Everyone else is cool and all, but we must see ze Doctor in his prime form.
-
It would be inside the ground, yes? Or at least in some forum underneath the ground from the ruins, kind of like a transport pump system.

Good point, but bear in mind that cell reanimation is different than replacing dead cells. In the Zombies universe, you don't see someone live and suddenly turn. The minimum amount of time required to be reanimated is as close as a few seconds after death. Back to biological aspects, the cells don't have a mind of their own. When a dead person...well, dies, they have lost all functions of living. This means they can't think, they can't process emotions, nada. Reanimating the dead cells via 115 means the cells that are within the corpse are brought back. Your brain would switch on once more, yet you can't exactly think. It brings zombies more to their animal points of origins - surviving and hunting. This holds true if there is nobody in control of them, though. A living person can still process critical thoughts and maintain voluntary control over their body's functions. We all have some dead cells in our body. If they are reanimated, does this mean we can live longer? Absolutely not. Like you said, we lose cells over a span of time. It's a process that continue on until the day we die. There is no significant contribution to human longevity, but there are some serious side-effects as MMX has stated. Rapid aging or the slowing of age does not occur whatsoever. I would think that they are just relatively young in 1918, but older than we think they are by the time the 40's comes around. It's hard to believe that they could love for such a large amount of time and still be alive, but that's all we're given at this point to consider. That's not the say ideas are not welcome, though.
-
Hm, very interesting. This seems to be a pretty damn good variable for our Templar knight(s). They look a tad stronger than the others and don't exactly seem to be controlled by 115 alone. Perhaps that's one of the special enemies we'll encounter in the map. I completely agree with you, Eternal. The pump station seems like a perfect tool for excavating a newfound element to humans. This may be one of the reasons why the undead are reanimated. Things may have been different if the humans did not do so much as touch the ruins or store the element.

We've all seen the cutscene at least a dozen of times since its release today. No matter how many times you play it, your mind will be blown away. But let's save the mind blowing for when the actual DLC drops, yes? Video: TS701bMxmSI I've dissected as many stills as I could from the video. Let's see what we can explore, friendos. Ah, the zeppelin and bi-planes. This is what we first experience in the atmosphere. We are given a pretty distinct view of a cloudy, foggy, overcast, and stormy weather pattern in this map. No doubt that it will be rather difficult to see in a much similar manner like Call of the Dead. The wasteland of a battlefield. Blood touches blood. All of the undead thrive here. Or, at least within this building that's on fire. It looks like a church but it has been destroyed to a point of no recognition at the moment. Welcome to the trenches. We see a sign that says "No Man's Land" and another sign that is a bit illegible to read. If anyone can transcribe the writing on it, that would help us greatly. It's good to see we have some kind of navigational control of this map instead of wandering aimlessly. The duo that started it all. We finally see the face of the Maxis that we've come to know so much throughout the story, alongside a very young (and handsome) Edward Richtofen. Bar-le-Duc seems to be our precise location, or at least the proximity of area we will play in. Here is a tidbit of the location: It seems to have been a rather important area for transportation. An open wasteland? Seems about right. Group 935 has struck once again. This operation has been going on in the location for quite some time given that the group decided to use its location as a surveying point/archaeological dig. The gateway to the ruins, or excavation site. I wonder what that object is on the left. You might say it's some kind of telescope or something, but I don't think such an object would belong there. This looks to be the entrance way before descending into darkness. An interesting contraption. We are well aware that this is not a teleporter. Why is that? Richtofen did not create the first successful teleporter until a few decades after 1918. Perhaps it's a vacuum for absorbing energy or some kind of material from the ground. I would even go as far as saying that this is a container for holding the element 115. The meteorite that is infested with 115 at its highest point in energy. The element is extremely fresh, hence the hot blue pulsating through the rock. This is the very beginning of 115's unearthing. Who knows what cna be done with energy as such high levels. Perhaps even powering robots...? Welcome to the excavation site. This is where dreams become nightmares and nightmares become reality. Note that even the large stones are pulsating with 115 as well. How did they manage to harness such energy, and where from exactly? This is going to be a crucial point for the Easter Egg/Side Mission. Some soldiers begin picking away at the walls with strange markings on them. Little do they know that they are actually breaking down a crypt that holds something more fearsome than the war itself. The ring in the middle makes it pretty clear that something may come out of it, or at least contained in a given circumference. Laser beams of beams of light/energy anyone? The knight has arrived, but it's not the right knight that we exactly want. There are many discussions about this - the blue/purple eyes, the Group 935 symbol on the crate, all the works. More discussion about this is here: viewtopic.php?f=155&t=35090 Hold onto this image, because we'll fall back on it in a given point within this thread. All hell has broken loose. Now we can see visible pathways and areas which may allow us to explore in-game. Small, tight-knit spaces might be a great danger to us as we face these new kinds of zombies. Well, not exactly new but rather nerving. Could this lead us to a mysterious new place where Pack-a-Punch or an Easter Egg step may be? Here are our typical zombies. There is a great difference between the knight and these, yes? Purple eyes, yellow eyes. There's something amiss here. Could the knight zombies be controlled by something other than 115 itself? The zombies with yellow zombies are more commonly known as "average zombies" since they are reanimated by the properties of the element 115. Tank is holding the new LMG while riding on a tank. The new version of badassery. The return of the Remington New Model Army, anyone? It tickles my fancy to see it return. He might not be addicted to vodka as much, but nothing screams sexy more than Nikolai. He can wield an axe? Or at least a tomahawk? Perhaps we are getting something nice since we've been so good this year. Consider this a plausible wall melee weapon. He was born from the Badass Crater of Badassitude. Takeo is found thrusting his famous sword into the many zombies. Now hopefully we can actually utilize his sword as a weapon in some point in the game. The beginning is the end. Nikolai, Dempsey, and Takeo first meet (or so it seems). They don't exactly seem like friends in this instance. If you saw the video (who am I kidding, you did), you may have also witnessed Tank ignoring the other two soldiers and going straight for Richtofen while the rest keep their guns cocked at him. History buffs will understand to some extent why an American might be more concerned with a German than a Russian or Japanese samurai. For those that don't, keep in mind that this is World War 1 era. In 1917, America waged war against Germany because the Germans violated neutrality by attacking an American trading ship as well as the infamous Zimmerman Telegram. The Allies consisted of several countries including America, Russia, and Japan. Germany belonged to the Central Powers, which were the opposing forces against the Allies. The Doctor is in! A surgery is going underway with a not-so-clear image of a person. Some speculate the figure to be Maxis' body. Notice that the corpse has a white, fluffed bear with a bald head much similar to Ludvig Maxis. It may or may not be him. For what reason might Richtofen be performing surgery at a time like this? That's Doctor Edward Richtofen, to you. You can't say manly without thinking of a mustache. Being caught by three members of the opposing force may catch you in bewilderment. To have these enemies find you with your hands bloodied could lead to some serious interrogation...with a bullet to the head. Perhaps explaining your way out of this situation is not going to go so well. Everyone is caught off guard by the intensified surge of lights appearing from the roof. What could it be? Ahh yes, it's the giant mechanical robot. A clear distinction in this image is that the robot did not simply hover by and accidentally begin to step on them. Rather, we see the giant looking down upon our crew and deliberately lift [his] foot to bring swift death. Why are the robots searching directly for our crew? There is a bigger mystery to them than we think. ============================= Hopefully we can gain some more insight on the intro cutscene. I'd love to hear why everyone else has to say about this. :)

$20? I only pay $15 per DLC, making that $30. You can get the 1200 points exactly if you go into Gamestop and ask for the Points code.

Note the knights with he same style of helmets and gear. I would say Jason is correct on what kind of warrior this is. Not surprisingly, this order of knight would have to be a great deal of time ago since the current German Order does not look like this at all. They do, however, follow the same model of Templars. Hell - even the German Kaiser dressed up as this (before World War I) to show aggression and nationalism. Here's an interesting tidbit that I found regarding the Order. http://www.swabia-teutonic.org/historyo ... nights.htm Sure, it may not relate to much since we are given a pre-WWII era and it wouldn't make sense to point out involvement with Germany. It only makes me think more that this kind of knight might be a little older than we think.

I keep thinking to myself "why on Earth would you have a scope as an attachment for a pistol?" Then I forget that this is Zombies and there must be a perfectly good reason for it. There were some guesses when this image was first released that the scope would more than likely have infrared vision. I can see that happening in this scenario.

Looks like someone - or something - found them in the still. Thanks for sharing, PINNAZ. :) -
The bank can have its perks and disadvantages. Like you said jay, it's great for holding onto the Tombstone persistent upgrade when hitting the higher rounds. If you really feel that using the bank in this manner is cheating yourself, then just don't ever use the bank. Simple as that. I typically just enjoy having a full bank. A good amount of my friends as me to help them with Side Missions so I always make sure to have a hefty pocket full of points. Either way it goes, I can still make a decent amount on my own without so much as opening a way to the bank in a given map. Sure, we are getting a little too comfortable with the bank. But it's not about how much we have - it's what we utilize it for.

I've been awaiting this from our constant tweets to one another regarding the megaliths and ancient ruins. Now that we have a pretty concrete locations for these areas, it comes time to find out its significance. You stated that some of these stones were very much used for religious practices, and the etchings ("alien markings") help give a little more insight in the importance of these artifacts. What would you say could be a possible reason why we deal with these? +1 and beyond, friendo. :)

I see zombies with mechanical arms. Or at least one solid arm and one metallic one. I wasn't fully aware that they had the technology at the time to create artificial limbs in such a manner. I'm not too surprised that it even exists within the same map that also shows giant robots parading around the battlefield. For what reason would the soldiers have automail? Aside replacing lost limbs, of course. -
To get certain medals, you have to meet a certain criteria for each medal. The list of every medal on the site can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=115&t=20938 Once you find the medal that you can apply for, just head over to this page and post your request: viewtopic.php?f=115&t=22055 Make sure that you post an image containing the proof that you are able to obtain that medal. Some of the medals require in-game photos, while other can be achieved through the Call of Duty: Elite site.

Richtofen didn't create the MPD. You can't steal plans for an extraterrestrial object that you didn't even know existed. If you mean the MTD, then it doesn't change anything other than Maxis actually starting to believe that teleportation could be done (and yes, it was). But you are right on the Wunderwaffe halt, Stop Mocking Me.

Samuel Has The Maxis Diary?
InfestLithium replied to GameChanger's topic in General Zombies Discussion
This is very, very interesting. I didn't know that he held onto a book, nor did I know that there was quote for it. I haven't heard it yet so I'll have to rely on someone else that has access to the quotes to find it. This is incredible, really! He might indeed have certain pages to his diary; we only see the journal entries from Maxis when playing as the new crew too. I can't fathom what else the book might be. This is his character model (ignoring Misty) from Die Rise. It looks like he may have a book in the same pocket but I don't exactly have the best picture of him at the moment. This is from Tranzit. He for sure does not have a book. Do you realize that this means Samuel could have very well picked up the exact journal Maxis last wrote in before coming into Griffin Station? What you've said matches up almost perfectly now. Remarkable! We need more insight on this. Thank you for bringing this to light, friendo. +1 and much more to you. :) -
FEAR RUVA! What, no not again!!!!
InfestLithium replied to Wooodd's topic in General Zombies Discussion
At ease, friendos. Give the man some credit for really trying to find a connection rather than making a thread that just says "FEAR TEDDS/RUVA omg this person needs to be stoppe like STOP RUS aliens". This was actually very deep and insightful if you ask me. There doesn't seem to be any connection between zombies and this protein, nor is there a pure reason to fear it. But the possibilities are endless. Good researching, friendo. :) -
Re-doing history or hindering it...truly fascinating. I'm not too keen on the persuasion of characters but I do like the idea of controlling the future that is actually history as we have known it. I'd like to see more about this. :)
