Maxis didn't necessarily "control" the zombies; he knew how to engineer them to some extent, and force them into self-directed limitations through experiments. Recall that he attempted various times to direct their attention, but Subject 2-6 proved that it was capable to maintain a somewhat steady control. Even then, the experiment went wrong and was then proven it could not be controlled...at least not by mortals. Something else is controlling the zombies this time around. I do in fact believe it is from the master of puppets. It may be the ancient Vril-ya, lurking within their own creation/dimensions for all we know. The possibility of Satan himself being the absolute controller is equally possible as well.

Thank you for clarifying this, Nai. I understand that some people just said "he's not a warden", but it's even better to have additional information as to why he cannot be the warden. Who knows - this may even shed some new light in which a supplemental zombie character may come into the picture. +1 :)

Mob of the Dead... Name of map or mode?
InfestLithium replied to epic_oreo17's topic in Mob of the Dead
Most likely the mode. Every new map that was released for Black Ops II Zombies has been primarily the mode. As said before and above, Mob of the Dead will be the mode followed by the map name and what area it may be under (ex. Mob of the Dead - Devil Island - Prison). -
~Mob of the Dead Buildable Ideas~

As a new melee weapon, much similar to the Galvaknuckles? -
First Look at MotD Wunder Weapon (pics) / Perk & Ray Gun too
InfestLithium replied to GRILL's topic in Mob of the Dead
I can see it being liquid-related, or some kind of substance spewing out of it. Perhaps it is indeed acid, or somewhat of electrical properties (referencing to electric chairs). -
Hm, I know we covered this particular perspective before, but it's great to see a deeper analysis of this phenomenon. Great work, friendo! It may as well be floating to some extent. I wouldn't exactly count the sky as a visual reference, though. The chunks of rock that we see en masse may not be of relative proportion to what is given on Earth. That being said, the floating debris is just outside Earth's atmosphere and is of monolithic size. Keep in mind that ballistic missiles impacted the globe; with the amounts of mass destruction going on, large amounts of debris at abnormal sizes are very possible. What interests me (obviously) is the video of this "mirage". To me, it looks like a distanced city covered by low fog or mist from the water. I say this because the video is being shot from a bridge, and that's what tends to happen when mist/fog occurs. But it looks awfully similar to Great Leap Forward. In-game, we hit an invisible floor upon falling in which we do not see any ground but rather feel it. If we aren't floating, then we have some of the largest towers ever known to man right in that map. But could gravity itself have been altered due to the impact of the rockets, causing the entire area to be 'lifted' off the ground? Possibly.

~New Boss~ Scariest Map? They Weren't Kidding!
InfestLithium replied to Electric Jesus's topic in Mob of the Dead
It definitely looks like it's coming out of some portal through the wall, and sticking perhaps a little less than half of its torso to chomp. I wouldn't be too surprised if this is a newfound punishment for hugging the walls in a map. -
Welcome to the reformation-er side, friendo! It's good to see that you're doing fine and you're eager to get back into the CoDz suit. I'll be expecting some good posts from you, yes? ;)

First Look at MotD Wunder Weapon (pics) / Perk & Ray Gun too
InfestLithium replied to GRILL's topic in Mob of the Dead
Inverted purple in the RGB color space is yellow, FYI. Orange and blue are opposites, an Red and green are opposites. It depends what shade. For instance, the closer of a shade you are to blue, the more yellow will come out. Yet if you head towards pink, the invert will be a neon green and only more green afterwards. The Sliquifier's liquid substance is more pink-ish than it is purple. The new weapon has a semi-dark green tint. Therefore, it would make sense that this new Wonder Weapon just happens to be an invert of the Sliquifier. -
What's interesting is that if you try and research their names, you'll only find hundreds of posts regarding the new DLC announcement. That being said, are these characters who supposedly play historical characters even real?

Theory, and why guns are canon to the storyline.
InfestLithium replied to Vyhl's topic in General Zombies Discussion
No, no, I understand what you are saying. Pardon me for coming off arrogant myself; I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a presumption of the weapons being canon/non-canon as a result of this rift. I apologize for that. But it's not a bad theory to think from. I'm glad that you see the "rift" being somehow capable of disrupting the flow of time and space, which may cause certain aspects in different periods and locations to diffuse or meld together. I was only trying to help you (or anyone reading this topic) understand why weapons would not be affected. I say this so strongly because other than factual evidence from real-life weapons, we've had this weapon combination ever since Black Ops. That would mean the rift had to begun very early on...who knows? +1 to you, friendo. :) -
Welcome to the family, friendo! It's great to have you here once more. I hope you continue enjoying your stay, and keep slayin' freakbags. :)

Welcome to the community officially, friendo! That would probably hold true if this were to be post-modern or sometime after the events in Green Run/Great Leap Forward. But considering that not only the eyes are a different color, but the Mystery Box lights as well, it would give a good implication that they're being controlled in a "normal" manner from a different power in the Aether. This, of course, is assuming that the events in Griffin Station (when Samantha took power) did not occur yet.
-
You never know - in fact, that may very well be the reason for what we are presented at the moment. Everything we held true about zombies and particular instances have always been derived from either our storyline, or the Aether plain and simple. Just the zombies' appearances alone make be support that idea.

Theory, and why guns are canon to the storyline.
InfestLithium replied to Vyhl's topic in General Zombies Discussion
The weapons are non-canon, regardless if they are wall weapons. Treyarch implements new weapons into their games, and it carries over into the Zombies mode regardless of what time period we are in. That is how it's been since Black Ops, and the transition is still the same. I'm assuming you did not read the supplied link, so let me open that up for you to view. -
This is a horrible translation, but I had to use a translator since I don't understand Latin myself. What is very interesting is that either the section for Mob of the Dead has a minor glitch in it - since it won't display - or Treyarch purposefully hid it so source digging would be needed. Here is the image that was tucked away: [open image in tab to see full image] Apparently, it was not finished due to this code: MOB OF THE DEAD LOREM SUBTITLE Pellentesque id ante a arcu rutruriam adipiscing convallis hendrerit. Note the LOREM SUBTITLE. For any web designers/developers out there, lorem ipsum is filler text that has been used for centuries since the first printing press. This usually is inserted into coding to replicate content without adding any real information. But the translation below the subtitle makes only a quarter bit of sense.

viewtopic.php?f=100&t=18279&start=1530#p262296 They are non-canon. Co-current weapons, such as specific Wonder Weapons that are selected primarily for particular maps (ex. Scavenger, Gersch Device, Zap Canon, etc.) and do not traverse through time. -
Thank you Shooter for for emphasizing more on weapons being non-canon. That prevented a lot of steam from building up. We've always presumed that they are playing as themselves like we've had thus far with all our guest crews, correct? If it applied in FIVE and Call of the Dead, I'm quite certain that the same is also applicable for our new guest cast. The fact that he wasn't born until 1954 would seem like a surefire way of making us think more forward in the timeline.
-
I think it will be a different group performing this song, since we are now with a new crew for the moment. I wouldn't think of it to be Avenged Sevenfold, but I would still be very happy to hear them once again. Carry On was already done with in Campaign's outro "Easer Egg". I don't think we'll be seeing the return of it ever again.

I'm ragawaga, and my view on current zombies.
InfestLithium replied to ragawaga's topic in Introductions
Welcome to the family, friendo! World at War was indeed the darkest times of Zombies. But once Mob of the Dead rolls around, I'm sure Treyarch has implemented the scare factor and the dark ambiance once more. Enjoy your stay, and keep slayin' zombies! :) -
The aerial view of Alcatraz in the trailer shows a constructed Golden Gate Bridge...or so it seems.
-
Well, we know that we can utilize all the floors within the penitentiary, as well as the outskirts of the building next to the water towers and drive-ways. So I'd say that it large to the point that we can go to several areas, but narrow within the sections.
-
Weapons are non-canon, so as long as they are not con-current. These would be exclusive guns such as the Wonder Weapons primarily on particular maps (ex. Scavenger on Call of the Dead, Shrink Gun on Shangri-la, etc).
