  1. @PINNAZ: And that is where we are located, correct? This should mean that we ought to see the tower some distance away. I never noticed it when on top of the sweatshop, unless it was destroyed in the process. I apologize if this is the wrong area to discuss it, but I'm only saying this because some fragment of me wants to believe that the image was actually what was to become of the area in the future, yet it hasn't been built yet. I could just be losing my marbles, though.
  2. It's relatively easy if you have three players with the Steam Tramp and somebody with the Sliquifier covering the off-ramp next to the dragon. It'll be smooth sailing from there, considering that you are doing all this before Round 17 (otherwise, normal guns will not be very effective unless everyone had an AN-91 or some kind of heave assault rifle/LMG).
  3. I felt that Treyarch made a very great map as well. I'm not the least bit discourage about there being no transportation, fridge or bank; feels just like the good old' Black ops maps with the unique buildables and addition weaponry. You're given the best equipment in extremely tight corridors with maybe a 40% chance of surviving if you know your way around. Die Rise forces you to work as a team moreso than playing it Solo. It's very easy to dig into the fight, and there are so many opportunities for blazing through rounds, yet becomes more difficult once you realize that spot may no longer be suitable for the amount of zombies you'll be facing. If you like to train, there are a few spots that allow the process to happen without making the location too small or too large. Find a spot, and start slaying. The whole layout itself is amazing! Vertical maps is not any of our specialties, and Great Leap Forward certainly proves this. You can skip one or two floors simply by dropping down to get "x" weapon or object, but you'll be sacrificing points and a new escape route if you try to settle time against proficiency. The two towers really make a divide and conquer setting for new surroundings. For instance, two players could settle on the top of the hotel while the other two make home to the top floor of the sweatshop. Use the Steam Tramp, and BAM - easy access to both towers and it can even perform as an emergency defense tool. Getting to the buildables, this map certainly satisfies our needs and wants. No more useless weaponry; with the Steam Tramp and Sliquifier, you'll be having massive fun while slaying zombies. Just think about it - a gun that can spray the floor with soapy goo to make zombies slip & slide while they are a OHK off direct contact is made, and a flipper tool that acts as a launch pad for players and zombies. What other excitement could you possibly be missing here? Overall, the Die Rise mode works beautifully, and should have been the major mode concept when Black Ops II was in the making. Great Leap Forward is a very unique map with an assortment of challenges and obstacles that will test your ability as a true zombie slayer
  4. Alright, so I'm going to make a simple layout of the Side Quest steps so far based on the videos we've seen. 1) Spawn. Pretty simple, and Maxis will speak. 2) Grab the SVU or any sniper. Maxis/Richtofen speaks. 3) Turn power on. Richtofen will tell Samuel to manipulate everyone. 4) Stand on all four golden cirles on top of the elevators at the same time. Maxis/Richtofen compliments you to do the same. 5) Stand on the four golden circles on the ground. There is no particular order, and you only need to step on it once to activate it. 6) Using the Pap'ed SVU (preferred), knock down the balls in the dragons' mouths at the top of the hotel. They will disappear.
  5. I'm assuming you mean the one on top of the hotel, where you can actually build the NavCard table? Up at the very top are satellites and receivers.
  6. I understand that there are many threads revolving around this new find, especially now that we've been looking heavily into how the plates themselves integrate into the Side Quest/"High Maintenance" Achievement. Let me give you a brief synapse of what I encountered myself. Here's something interesting: I was playing with a random on the 2nd boss round of the game when the last Crawler went missing. Basically, nobody came out to attack us, and we could venture all around the map without having to worry about any form of zombie. Unfortunately, we were limited on points, but I did managed to make a few observations before "accidentally" plummeting to my death. Here are the four plates that I found: I'm certain there is another elevator plate inside the power room, but I failed to capture the shot since I died upon entering the building (curse you Steam Flipper!). What interests me is that all of these plates don't look similar to the one I'm sure you've all seen. Notice this one has a glow to it, yet the sreenshots above don't have the same effect. Something needs to be activated in order to make them "responsive". If there are actually four and not five, then suppose having all four players stand on them will trigger an event.
  7. About these balls...considering that there are two from what we know, they are located inside the mouths of the dragon signs. One seems fairly reachable, but not obtainable. How would one go about the other, given it is actually off the map? Even if you manage to shoot it down, you wouldn't be able to get to it. People have tried the Trample Steam, Sliquifier, Snipers (Pap'ed too), Ray Gun, Semtex, Knife, all the works. I don't think these balls are exactly the things we are looking for. It doesn't budge whatsoever, nor does it have any effect.
  8. Which one(s)? There are tons of holes in the walls that don't make any particular sense.
  9. I believe there is more than one key available, too. Correct; you can find the keys throughout the map, and I believe there are four keys if I'm not mistake. They can be used on the elevators to come up instantly.
  10. Yes; the same glitch was used for the Jet Gun in Tranzit. Soon, Treyarch will catch wind of it and stop the glitch. I mean, once you get the gun, you can pick it up anytime from the Mystery Boxes, so it's not like it'll be impossible to get. Of course, enjoy have your whole team spray down the hotel with purple soap as zombies ice-skate all over the place and into elevator shafts.
  11. Then would you care to explain two questions? 1) How would the Focusing Stone - that was directly put into the MPD on Moon - appear in China on a map such as Die Rise? 2) What "other previous items" are there on the map? I'm not challenging your idea; I simply want to know where you're coming from so I could assist in perhaps furthering what you've started.
  12. Thank you for this simple yet efficient tutorial, TBG. I understand that you may also do the same when using grenades to assist in slaying the Eletrical Phaser Crawlers. There was also a mention that not being damaged by the crawlers would ensure another perh if you decided to utilize a gun rather than a melee weapon. Thanks again! :)
  13. @OP: I just want to apologize for people not taking much of a gander at this speculation. Some people don't like to observe tiny details and make something out of them. Who knows? You just might be on to something. Perhaps the sign on the tile represents a particular floor/section of the map? There are so many areas we could consider, it's hard to determine where we're at let alone the description of said location. If I recall correctly, there are multiple signs and posters in Die Rise which would some kind of symbol, just like the tiles have shown. Maybe this is where we need to go at times in order to progress the Side Quest, or stumble across something new? Great find, zmcdowall! Keep up the good observations. :)
  14. How is it that you have this "ball" from Shangri-La? I'm assuming you mean the Focusing Stone, which was used for the latter portion of the Moon Easter Egg. That is completely gone; I'm not sure if you just picked up an object similar to it on Die Rise, but there is no Focusing Stone in the map.
  15. It's not a bad theory at all. Quite a few people have noticed the balls, and it may be of relevance. To get it out, perhaps you do need the Sniper Rifles/Sliquifier?
  16. viewtopic.php?f=139&t=28205 Lots of information here; you ought to check it out. Apparently Stuhlinger is the new Jesus. ;)
  17. It seems so - perhaps the cult that is mentioned in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=139&t=28205
  18. Treyarch has their online server connections very quirky ever since they had the settings update just half an hour ago. Give it some time; even if you ar elucky to access the public matches in Zombies, you won't find anyone. It seems that all Xbox 360 users are having this problem, or at least the ones who got the "update".
  19. I have to agree with Afro; this map really set a higher standard for Zombies. Tranzit was great and all, but Die Rise is absolutely dominating its predecessor. The combination of good ol' Verruckt and Shangri-La. There are some tight spots, but also very spacious rooms where you'll be training if you have the correct maneuvering techniques. The weapons chosen for the map are superb with the addition of a few modernized weapons like the PDW and ANS, and let's not forget the beloved Sliquifier! Placement for said weapons are justifiable, and prevent too much proficiency in a given area or too little survival. Add in some Mule Kick, and you'll be having a blast in no time.
  20. Okay, it finally got me in. Here's what you do: turn off your Xbox and let it cool for at least 15-40 seconds. Go to your Xbox 360 settings and clear your cache twice. Then load up your game (with your profile signed on) and head to Multiplayer. I opened up my Options to make sure it wouldn't crash again, then I did the same once I opened up Zombies with a System Link match. I backed out, and hit Xbox Live. Finally managed to get on.
  21. Same has occurred to me. Don't worry; restart your Xbox 360 and head back into the Zombies menu. At this point, you may receive the "Connecting to Online Service" loading screen followed by a server error. Don't clear your cache, or else your system will freeze up again.
  22. Trust me - it does. Shoot some zombies in front of you, or spray at their feet. They'll be skidding all around you, and you could blast yourself a nice hole in the horde while having them ice skate for a few seconds. The only thing you need to be weary of is ammo. It's a fun weapon, but fun things tend to go out very quickly, so use it sparsely.
  23. I hope that helps you, friendo. :)
  24. It's actually a different person; George Barkley from Druid Hills, GA. The person who describes the symptoms of those that were infected. He was part of the CDC, and took note of the effects the infected had. Also, he mentioned some of them who survived the outbreak began to have...rather interesting characteristics. But that's for a different thread.
  25. That's what it seems to be. Using the prior map's NavCard to be accepted into the reader for the next map. We already know that the crew will re-visit Green Run once more, as said by Maxis himself. The question we ought to focus on is the background behind the NavCard. There is no "Net Asset Value" anymore.
