  1. I'm guessing that they want to up the difficulty of not having time re-collect yourself and get what you need before ending the round. I thought that this still happened before the update; I would be in a match where I was the one babysitting a walker and it would die out for no reason after, say, 6 minutes of watching it. The same applied to crawlers even if you didn't leave the vicinity. But going off what you said, it does seem that zombies tend to die out faster than usual. Treyarch wants to make things more complicated for us. First, they remove crawlers as time-decoys. Now, they are forcing zombies to respawn quicker so the rounds will begin asap...perfect. It's not a huge deal, but it definitely is a hasty decision to make now considering we don't have all the time in the world anymore. Oh well - more challenge won't hurt.
  2. The statistics should be determined just as you said. The ranking system is indeed not broken; it's just really confusing since there are so many factors to consider yet we heavily really on only two aspects. But you're right - staying consistent is the only way to rank up. A good zombie player will be careful of how well they perform in a match, but a great zombie player will enjoy the game while navigating through the match to reach higher rounds without paying much heed to the numbers but rather the gameplay itself. You can't go wrong if you put your best foot forward in every game. You just might be surprised how well the hard work pays off. Having a skull & knife emblem is all that bad, considering a majority of zombie players are still stuck at ranks below that one. In all honesty, emblems mean absolutely nothing when it comes to gaming. Sure, anyone can walk around carrying a badge that showcases higher prestige. But if you can't play to match the badge, you're as good as the split-screeners who join a lobby and never ready up (oh yeah - I went there). Personally, I let the end game results and high round do the talking - win/loss ratio for Grief.
  3. @PINNAZ: I'm not to sure if you already knew about this, but... http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/cienc ... ergy38.htm By conspiracy, modern China is believed to be hiding free energy from the rest of the world. The page only talks about how it's "reducing U.S. employment", but I was more focused on the factor of them gaining the technology directly based off Tesla's invention and them advancing it in order to create a better surplus of job output for their own good. This is a pretty recent conspiracy, yes; however, it's worth taking a gander. Perhaps Die Rise will have some kind of receptor/free energy transmitter similar to HAARP? We don't need to think of the typical "big tower that will give energy" idea that most people are assuming for the map. If China is involved in such an energy transmitter, perhaps it will be of great importance to the story?
  4. Your Tranzit progress is saved via Treyarch servers. This accounts for the side of the mode completed, the amount of points in your bank, and whether or not you retrieved the NavCard. It actually took my a while to piece together the reasoning behind all of it, and it came awfully clear with one small detail: the menu start-up. Notice how before, we would have the options of choosing Solo mode regardless of Xbox Live access. In Black Ops II, however, we can only play with the option of Live or Local/System Link. Anything that occurs in non-Live matches will not add up to your Live profile. Because of that, we are forced to play Live games to make any progress in our favorite little Zombies mode.
  5. Are you saying distance-wise, or by means of penetration? I love using the DSR, and it seems to penetrate pretty heavily. The accuracy when holding your breath is awful, though.
  6. Did anyone place a Turbine in front of/inside/around the bus? A few times, I have noticed that the electric sparks will sometimes stay on the bus as if the Turbine were still nearby. Also, check to see if a Turbine was caught onto the bus. I have actually seen runaway Turbines.
  7. I'm assuming that you are rather lat eon the Easter Egg, yes? When you heat up the pylon with the Jet Gun, you create a fortified electric current running all across the map. The lights begin to blink and shoot sparks to signify the boost in power. It's all part of doing Richtofen's side. After you collect enough 115 underneath the pylon, he will tell the player who is Samuel to EMP the streetlights in order to reduce the power by a factor of four. Generally, the Diner and Bus Depot's streetlights are the most common places to EMP since Denizens will not touch you there. That is what you are seeing in your gameplay. If you want to promote your video (which I suppose what the intention of posting such a known event since November), perhaps you can post future videos here: viewforum.php?f=12
  8. Welcome to the community, friendo! Have yourself a look around, make some theories/share ideas, and enjoy the forum. I hope to see you around often! :)
  9. I don't believe Full Metal Jackets are able to be attached, since I haven't seen anything when watching some videos on each weapon being PaP'ed. I think it would make things a bit too easy; plus, how you mentioned some attachments such as the long barrel and the concept of better scopes essentially create a higher damage level for guns. (Note: Some PaP'ed weapons have more than one attachment available. For instance, the SM1l3R can also receive an MMS Scanner). Credit to IGN for the list.
  10. Firstly, welcome to the forum friendo! It's not a bad video showcasing the glitch; it's actually interesting to see how easy it would be to hold off when surviving through the rounds. Perhaps it's much easier since it's not like Grief (where you could survive if you wanted to, but it makes no difference). Also, this most likely belongs here since you are mentioning the video for the purpose of display: viewforum.php?f=12 But I do hope to see more content from you. Enjoy your stay on CoDz, and I hope to see you around often! :)
  11. It sounds that these new minions are relatively dangerous. Maybe it's just IGN exaggerating the power of the new bosses, but considering that they mentioned "a survivor who strays out on their own", perhaps that they will appear in mobs similar to the Hellhounds (of course, this is the standard for bosses in Zombies). Maybe they will drop something other than Max Ammos?
  12. I don't see why Easy Mode is such a bother. Sure, the zombies have slower moving speed, delayed hit reactions, and aren't as ferocious as sprinters. In all honesty, I think the mode is great for introducing new slayers into the world of zombies. Nothing is more detrimental than trying to teach a buddy how to mange the controls still and a few sprinters on Round 4 (original) decide to swing around, making it impossible for them to understand the gameplay. It also gives them the reassurance of being able to reach a "high round" [in this case, they always get excited near 10] without having to utterly fail. If you're focused on the aspect of that being the only new thing in Easy Mode, then just leave it be - it's not for you. There aren't too many differing factors that you can possibly do in zombies to change up the style. Altering the point system will only lie to the new players once they are able to move onto Original. Minor changes like zombie speed is actually very beneficial. If you don't like the mode because it doesn't show any Easter Egg progress, then go back to Original Mode and do 'em. If you're not ready to take down some freakbags while progressing through the eminent storyline, then you shouldn't be playing Original. I'm sorry, but back in my day, there was only one difficulty of zombies. It didn't matter if you were novice or pro at slaying zombies; you had to do what you had to do. It's called persistence and determination.
  13. You only get new attachments/sights when re-Pack-a-Punching the modern guns. From what I've encountered with the many guns, this will not apply to older (Black Ops) weapons. It does, however, affect your accuracy (MMS reduces damage slightly from a distance, hybrid sight manipulates range and make a minor difference in damage output).
  14. The zombie player(s) would definitely be buffed out. More than likely, it will be a higher health level, unlimited sprint, and the ability to see human players through any obstacle/wall (already proven). I'm not too sure about double-slaps for the zombie player but possibly the AI. As the "rounds" go on, the player who is the zombie will probably have health to the equivalent of Juggernog's effect - the four red indicators. Human players will more than likely have decreased weapon-power like you said, ZF4L. Though I'm assuming that the human player will have the advantage in the first few sets, it will be hard to distinguish the zombie player against the zombie AIs to confuse the opponent. I believe their guns will be based on how many points the current player has after successfully killing the zombie player. So yes - much similar to Gun Game. I don't think they would make it harder on the player; just a very limited magazine size on a semi-decent weapon.
  15. Hey friendo, welcome to the community! It's great to see a fellow slayer that plays for the team and doesn't mind being the entertainment of the group. It really does make the game 10x better for everyone, I'm sure of it. Well, here you will find teammates to accommodate for your night schedule. Perhaps you'll even come across some players that are willing to complete the Easter Eggs from Black Ops with you. If you don't know much about the backstory of them, there's a ton of theories and stories that you can check out. May I give you a link to begin your adventure? viewtopic.php?f=100&t=18279 It's a long read, but length won't be a matter because you'll be entranced in it immediately. I hope to see you around often! :)
  16. That's because the streetlights in given locations are pre-set to play Maxis' audio file. The Bus Depot and Diner are the only areas where you can hear Maxis upon placing a Turbine near the streetlights. Anywhere else, and the system will not be complete for finishing the Easter Egg. Just thought I'd add my two cents: when I re-did the Easter Egg, I was playing as Misty and heard Maxis throughout the game.
  17. Haha, so it seems we have our newest user-character. Interesting! Welcome to the community, Ben! There's a lot to do on the forum, and new/fresh content will be constantly delivered every day. I'd have to say that Marlton is my current favorite character (next to Samuel); he reminds me of my best friend. Anyhoo, hope to see you around often! :)
  18. Yes; it will count towards the clan statistics overall. That is, if your stats in-game are being recorded as "online". By the way, you better accept my application on Elite, way.
  19. As long as you are near certain locations that have some form of electric current (pylon, buildings, streetlights, etc.), Maxis is audible to everyone. viewtopic.php?f=136&t=27634 This thread has a great post about the possible vertices Maxis mentions, as well as the subsequent formations. It's a rather long read, yes, but it's probably the most information regarding to topic. In a short statement, there are several possibilities to a scalene formation; however, it doesn't necessarily mean that a triangle is present.
  20. Is the Jet Gun pulling the power-drops to the player, or is the Jet Gun pulling the player towards the drop? I just played in a match with some randoms and tested this little idea out. It seems like it goes halfways of both concepts. I'm not exactly sure what to make of it.
  21. viewtopic.php?f=100&t=26302 This will beging your journey to cracking that "Easter Egg". :)
  22. Only one problem: there is no such thing as "The Prototype" on Green Run. The name was given by the BradyGames' guide who implemented the title in their guide. Just because they deemed a name for a particular area does not make it official standard. But I'm not quite content the idea of there being more than one "Nacht der Untoten". After all, it was nothing but a prison out in the middle of nowhere. Let me quote myself on this one: This wasn't a search op to infiltrate a prison; they were stranded there and left to survive on their own. And let me say again that the original Nacht der Untoten was not Group 935 related. Even the biggest conspiracy group (Illuminati) are not involved in the events that occurred there. Plane carrying cargo which happened to contain Element 115 crashes, causing an uprising of the undead Nazi soldiers. I'm not saying that it's impossible for there to be similar models of the map as "test sites" for other operations - in fact, I think it would be a very reasonable idea. But the history behind NDU causes the idea to be...well, put aside momentarily. Nevertheless, a great idea.
  23. Yes; well, more than likely it's regarding the release of Die Rise. Seems that they're just about done getting things completed, and now it's time to get it past Microsoft (generally a 5-7 business day ordeal). Ah, the excitement!
  24. No no, there are no such things as stupid questions - only stupid answers. I know nothing about the PS3 menu, unfortunately. Perhaps someone would care to fill you in on that one soon. The max number of zombies allowed in a given instance is 24. This is regardless what round you are on; it can never exceed the amount. Better information regarding this can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=100&t=27752 There is only one song in Green Run (Tranzit mode), which is Carrion by Kevin Sherwood. Treyarch removed Avenged Sevenfold's "Carry On" to instead be used as a surprise ending upon completing the Campaign. I believe Skrillex's "Imma Try It Out" was quickly removed due to it being not popular for zombies. You can still hear it when doing the Karma mission in Campaign and playing on the Plaza multiplayer map.
  25. I'm sorry, but that is exactly the attitude that will prevent you from obtaining any staff position. You don't ask for a place on the staff, regardless if you think you exceed over the qualifications. They are very, very selective of choosing the best candidates for being a staff member. It doesn't matter if you helped Bill Gates create Microsoft. Your pride will be your biggest downfall if you try to wedge yourself in like that. Relax and give yourself some time to adjust here. If you are helpful to other members and prove that you are well-above the status of a great member with your post quality, you may see some kind of position headed your way. Just be patient and understanding. :)
