Written Guide to Tower of Babble EE - Updated for 2 players
InfestLithium replied to way2g00d's topic in TranZit
As far as the turbines go, they are regularly done at the Depot and Diner. I never really tried at any other lamp, but it seems that those two locations are the only one capable of fully completing the Maxis portion of the Easter Egg (disregarding the whole "Denizens getting in your way" ordeal). Maxis' quote about completing the Trichotomous System, When you place a turbine at the said locations, Maxis will say something along the lines of "You have just activated one of points to the trichotomous system. Now go and complete the rest of the system!". As a result, it's safe to conclude that these locations are necessary for turbines to be near. -
It's just a hallucination, friendo. Perhaps it wasn't in your mind until you came back to the cornfields and it kinda caught you off guard for a moment. I assure you, the corn has not been growing whatsoever in-game. :)

Calm down, guys - it was just a little humorous "outlook" into a fantasy experience. I find it rather interesting to be honest. But as for you, OP, might I suggest not spamming this across the forum. You copy and pasted this to two other forums including this one. Out of all three targets, this subject falls under the General Zombie Discussion forum here: viewforum.php?f=100 Careful what you post, where you post, and how you post, friendo. ;)

The audio is so displaced that I can't tell what I'm trying to hear. Any sounds that emit from a kill and display no green puff (signaling a "perma-skill") could actually be one of your special skills being removed. Some hear a drop-tone, or spaceship sound when this occurs.

There is no Tombstone perk machine in Grief Mode. If there were, it would be located in Town.

Hey friendo, welcome to the community! Have yourself a look around, post some of your ideas, and simply have a great time! And I'm sure you'll find yourself someone to hit high rounds with you. :)

He's basically trying to make you see the relationship between Group 601 and the pylons. Look closer at the poster; do you see the two pylons on the side transmitting signals into space/as a receiver? This is exactly the same situation that occurs in Green Run's Easter Egg.

First off, welcome to the forum friendo! Let's take a look at this. The bus driver's name is not T.E.D.D. This was a coined name that surfaced due to rumors and speculation. Nowhere in-game (and even in the files) is there any mention of that being his name. The driver is an automaton that has a GPS system manufactured inside of him to drive the bus. This was a name given by fans, and it's not official. Second, we are given many details about our new crew mainly through their quotes. Appearance can be a small factor, however, it's wise not to judge a book by its cover. We have more theories on Samuel (the conspiracy freak) and Marlton (the narcissistic genius) because they have the most involvement at the moment. For instance, Marlton can be heard inside the fallout shelter when playing Nuketown Zombies, and Samuel is the only one who can hear our beloved German zombie overlord, Richtofen, throughout his side of the Easter Egg. It's not to say that the other two character aren't as important, but actions and dialogue are our only means of finding their backstory.

Hey friendo - welcome to the forum! I've never really heard that quote before...then again, I'm usually stuck playing as Misty all the time and never really take the bus. If such a quote existed, I believe you can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=25385 Perhaps he might have said something about jumping off the bridge, but not breaking it apart more than the current state it is in.

Welcome to the community, friendo! Yes, unfortunately a player leaving mid-game causes the system to stop recording the rounds. The only good thing out of this is that your statistics (kills, downs, revives, etc.) saves. This includes various other factors that you don't see posted such as perks drank, grenade kills and such. Many people back out for several reasons, but the biggest one is commonly done by a sore loser. I hate to use that title, but these people will back out when the going gets rough and something as minuscule as one down is a great threat to them. When you back out, you're basically grabbing whatever statistics you have currently and running with it. Leaving a game does not count against you in, but most people use it to reach higher ranks at a quicker pace than if they were to stay in a game with a few downs. As for now, the best way to determine ranking can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=100&t=26010 In short, ranking is based off a kills to down ratio, or K/D. There are a few additional elements that also increase your rank, but the best way to reach that desired rank is to play consistent, long games with as few downs as possible. Simply getting over 200 kills per game with a maximum of 2 downs is good enough. If you can top that example, then better for you!

It's further display of the interrupted time distortion in the game. At a given instance when either of our crew(s) teleport, they defy time and logic, thus creating that said timeline. They can intervene in any time period they wish, but nothing remains constant. Some may say that the clocks simply don't work like Marlton's watch, or that the internal mechanism which powers the clocks are corrupted. But keep in mind that they all signify something; had they been working, we would never be able to relate one map from another (once again, the watch and Green Run's clocks). As for the outcome of Shangri-La or CotD, those places would most likely be obliterated by the missiles. Hence, the event that occurred in Moon would cause them to be nothing more than wasteland (or to some extent of that) due to the impact of the missiles. We rewrite history the more we time travel; even something as simple as making an appearance can create a new future.

Hate to be a combo breaker with this rather interesting discussion over MTD's, but I just wanted to say that the events occurring in Green Run and Nuketown are in the 20th century. Using weapons as a reference is pointless; that'd be the equivalent of questioning pre-modern weapons (MPL, Olympia, Ak-74u, etc.) in maps like Call of the Dead and Shangri-La which presumably take place in present time. As for a time paradox, MMX stated it perfectly; it doesn't happen. New timeline are created based on the events that occur in the past. The grandfather clause doesn't truly exist in zombies because instead of disrupting the time flow, you are creating a brand new time frame that follows suit. One might say that as of the moment, CotD and Shangri-La never occurred, however, it still did. The easiest way to understand this is to simply follow the current events of our given crew.

That sound is the siren played when power has been turned on. You can hear it clearly in Town, though I'm not sure if you can hear it further than that location.

Seems like "MO[NEY] [L]O[A]N" would fit nicely. Then again, the whole point of this was to see the overall message, not so much for what could fit in there. Think of the Diner sign that reads "DIE NOW", or even the Tunnel board "DAY X /2 M E". The 'MOON' sign may be pointing towards the bank, or it may just be referring to the building it's attached to. Also, the reason for a bank is to allow a new system of saving all those hard-earned points and allowing teammates to share the points you hoard. This concept has been asked for many, many times throughout the zombie series. I don't want to disregard the idea of the NavCard being something other than navigation purposes, but as far as evidence shows, the "net asset value" means nothing in this game versus what we have in regards to how the NavCard would operate.
-
viewtopic.php?f=136&t=26598 To answer any and all questions regarding NavCards. Yes, there are many wild guesses that the card will open up alternate routes for the bus. Considerably so, there is only one area to utilize the card: underneath the pylon using the NavCard reader. I understand that it's a "navigation card" (not an Net Asset Value like so many people consider it to be), however, it is regarded both in-game and in the coding snippets. Perhaps it will open a new path down the road, perhaps it won't. Until we get the next DLC, we can't claim 100% legitimacy on anything yet.

Green run is traversing different levels of space and time
InfestLithium replied to Zamininc's topic in TranZit
There is no indication that Group 935 created the bus driver. In fact, I see no evidence whatsoever in this process. I suggest anyone interested in the conversation of the bus driver - or "T.E.D.D. as everyone knows him as - ought to check this thread: viewtopic.php?f=103&t=26363 This is from what I posted on the very same thread I provided above: "In the video, there is a quote about the bus driver stating an Error upon exiting the tunnel. There is a path blocked my sandbags that should be our actual exit, however, the GPS navigation system is broken and turns left instead of right. This error continues and forces the bus into a loop around Green Run. I wanted to take a brief look into GPS systems. http://infohost.nmt.edu/~mreece/gps/history.html The concept was originally used in 1964 as militaristic technology. What I find very, very interesting is this quote: Prior to the development of the GPS system, the first satellite system was called Transit and was operational beginning in 1964. Did you see what I see? If you did, then we both come on the same terms. The bus we have in-game is fully capable of navigating itself considering that we had GPS systems as early as 1964. This year has popped up so much in the zombies storyline, strange huh? The bus we love oh so much is not a normal tour vehicle; rather, a government-owned transport. Please take a look at the second link I supplied the post with. PINNAZ did a fantastic job pointing these out; what kind of tour bus takes you to certain hotspots of America, then allows entrance to government-official facilities? The answer is simple: this bus. But it's not your ordinary bus. A military transport vehicle, to be more exact, implemented a system that was recently brought up. Also, I believe whoever reads this quote also noticed that the first GPS satellite system is called "Transit". Resembles something awfully similar, yes?" Yes, the bus driver is a very complicated automaton that is not only sophisticated enough to drive the bus with the aid of the GPS unit manufactured inside him, but to understand what locations he is at based on his coordinates (or so to speak - he receives an "error" and scrambles the navigation system) and become self-aware of the new surroundings in Green Run as well as being harmed is very suspicious. Most robots during the time frame (given 80's) is more than likely to not have been this well-constructed, but we must remember: if we got to the Moon via teleporter in Area 51 without a hitch, then surely we can have animatronics at such an intelligent level. The only reason the time period is questions is really due to our crew - particularly the known fact that Marlton was involved in Nuketown zombies yet here he is in Green Run. -
Nothing occurs when you toss an EMP into it; in fact, same goes if you try a Monkey Bomb or frag/Semtex. The sign seems more like a notice, reminding us that the events on Moon occurred in the past. I know the arrow is pointing towards the building because that's how most sideways signs are set up, however, it seems more of a personal approach that it's behind us in the past. Kinda nostalgic, really - makes you wonder what has happened on Moon after we leave our original crew stranded.

Die rise another TRANZIT map?
InfestLithium replied to welsh skipper88's topic in Research & Development
Define "Tranzit map". Noting truly defined Tranzit mode besides a large map and the ability to use quick transportation (the bus, teleportation, etc.) to quickly get place to place. In reality, it's nothing more than a big survival map. Yes, it includes the storyline just like we want it to contain. I highly doubt we need to power up more pylons. I'd say that we need not more pylons, but rather particular structures that need to be re-energized for the sake of completing the Easter Egg much similar to Green Run (who actually gains the power). But will the next DLC have similar mechanics of our current Tranzit mode? More than likely - that is, if we are given a rather spacious map. If we don't get the mode, we have some homework to do. -
Opinions on Greenrun characters
InfestLithium replied to Simply Epic's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Basically all of this, I agree on. Although it brings quite a diversification from our old group, I think it'll allow us to expand our minds on how we view our crew. None (as far as I'm concerned) have any connection to the military, and can be considered as people "just like us". I mean, c'mon - a narcissistic technological genius, a masculine Southern woman with attitude, a homeless old man with Alzheimer's, and a conspiracy freak that has way too much paranoia that he needs to have. I know it's been discussed that they could soon split into their own factions (Marlton+Abigail / Samuel+Russman), but it is a new approach to creating a new set of playable characters. They may not match our old crew, but I feel that the longer we play with them, the more we'll enjoy them. -
Hapy New Years to everyone! This time, it's the year for big changes, big events, and big opportunities. Let's get crackin' and bring CoDz the best we have!
-
No leaks; I'm unaware of the consequences, but I wouldn't risk knowing what happens. If someone wants to see this video, they can PM you for it.

Yes, this has been around or quite some time. The points aren't crucial, however, the Galvaknuckles are beneficial for obvious reasons unrelated to the Easter Egg. As far as I'm concerned, they're good for taking Denizens faster and getting rid of "Him" quickly. Other than sharing points, the knuckles aren't really used for anything else important.

viewtopic.php?f=100&t=26010 This is our current ranking system theory. At the moment, we know the kills / down ratio is a definite factor. You have a high amount of kills, so no doubt you've reached a high amount of kills. There are smaller factors that also play a part, but K/D is what you should focus on.

Hey friendo, welcome to the community! To answer your questions, the blue eyes are related to your activity period when you play at least five consecutive days of zombies. They are not related to rank. Deaths are the times you bleed out, the step beyond going down. Gibson are blowing limbs off the zombies as a form of "crippling" them. For strategies, I'd recommend this guide: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=26878 You can still use it in online matches. It's very useful and informative; I'd highly recommend you give it a good read. :)
