But natural zombies tend to feast on humans, according to the generic zombie persona. Our zombies have been known to just take down our characters one by one. But it would make some relative sense to say that nobody is really controlling them. And if there were some entity controlling them in this era, it's probably just to wipe out any remaining humans. They're not popping out of just anywhere like they do now; they're engineered zombies unleashed.

It appears to be unfinished to a certain degree, but the other image shows that it IS finished. Perhaps the first image is of something different, and I may have mistaken it for part of the bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge was not completed until 1937.
-
Great discovery, friendo! Now the date has been narrowed down further for this map, and things are certainly starting to become sensible. Don't forget about the Golden Gate Bridge, as seen in the top-left of the Alcatraz image: Construction of the Golden Gate Bridge started in 1933. The bridge, which was designed by engineer Joseph Strauss was built to connect San Francisco with Marin County across the 1600 meter (+5000ft) wide strait known as the Golden Gate which links the San Francisco Bay with the Pacific Ocean.

I guess jumping is out of the question. But for a moment, let's take into consideration that this is indeed the first map trap that we'e had thus far in Black Ops II. Buildables do not necessarily count - though they are appreciated. We know that there is a workbench of some sort within the lower level of the map inside the penitentiary.

@Tattoo: So you mean two different dimensions where one small thing can affect what occurs in the other dimension? Hm, interesting thought! We brought up Kino der Toten to happen in a different dimension, but all it did was confuse us more. @way: The spikes are definitely something interesting. It looks relatively unsafe, considering that the whole ceiling has them. If it were a trap, how would you escape it? Perhaps lock yourself into a secluded area within the room so that there's a barrier between the players and the zombies? Also, that still is perfect for the new boss. It definitely looks like a Hellhound now, but with no body. Floating into the air perhaps, or just coming out of the wall so we can't hug the edges for too long, nor run trains efficiently. I can tell this is going to be one very, very difficult map.

From what we know, zombies cannot access teleporters via MTD. This is seen in Der Riese, Kino der Toten, and No Man's Land/Moon. I think they are disintegrated, unless by some cosmical chance that they were only to teleport successfully by fluke. And we still don't know if it's possible to go backwards in time. The only moment that this circumstance was invalid was the transition to Kino der Toten and Ascension, which is still up in the air.

I don't think we would come across the O4 during this time period, since we're about a decade or two behind World at War. Will it follow closely to Call of the Dead's Easter Egg in the sense that we are discovering a bit more of how things have come to where they are now, and perhaps uncover some secrets that will make the Black Ops II Zombies storyline more sensible? Possibly. But I never knew about the Alcatraz program...interesting! Perhaps there was indeed some experimentation with the inmates going on. Some experimentation that becomes disastrous because of some 115? I smell something fishy abrewin'. ;)

Satanic relations have been quite evident throughout the course of the Zombies storyline, more so with Black Ops. I don't exactly think it would become a reoccurring thing. The entity that resides within the MPD/Aether - long before even Samantha took over - would be the Vril-ya. After all, it is through them that the pyramid device was made and caused Richtofen to hear the voices. Like you said, OP, this map is to take place somewhere between the 1920s-1930s. We all know the actual experiments with Group 935 didn't begin until another 10 years or more later on. The Tunguska event happened in 1908, thus zombies could have been around since that particular date up to when we know that Maxis & Richtofen began their experimentation with element 115.

Well...Hellhounds seem to have the power to spawn out of nowhere, and continue doing so in any may they please it. That would mean Fluffy originally teleported straight to the Aether, hence how the spawns can jump into any map, any time they please - because they are well capable of it. This could be the case, but it's just intriguing how these look like a more demonic version of your typical Hellhound.
-
I don't think Hellhounds were around at this time, if I am not mistaken. The original Hellhounds were brought "to life" by Fluffy around 1945 [unconfirmed] in Der Riese. Unless the spawns went back - which bear in mind, is still questionable - through time, there is absolutely no way that the mini-bosses we see are indeed those Hellhounds, nor are they bats due to the size of what seems to be their faces. It may not even be an animal, for all we know.

The Great Pyramid of Alcatraz / "The Rock"
InfestLithium replied to GRILL's topic in Mob of the Dead
A future Alcatraz? Ehhh, I'm not too fond of the idea. Well, the idea of the prison being nothing more than a pyramid. But who is to say that 115 is not located underneath the high-security island? I know that many people have backed-off the continuity of 115 relations on every map, but considering that this should take place before our known zombie beginning (World at War), it isn't to say that it can't be possible. Good connections and material here, friendo! :) -
Haha, and I was just sayin last night about the characters if this were real. I'd like my payment in bacon strips, please. Glad to see such intensive information already! We're transitioning into a new time period where we'll most likely uncover the secrets of zombies before our original storyline unfolded. I can't wait for this map - I'm getting excited just thinking about it! There is a theme of hanging men here. It may just have been prisoners committing suicide during/after the zombie outbreak, or even something happening beforehand. The description about the new tower (thanks bagel!) is definitely of importance, but to what extent I do not know.

It's not for attention, but because a good amount of people know that we are zombie aficionados when it comes down to details and information. The general zombie player does not know what is or is not a leak, and that's where I think people jump on them too harshly. A leak is something that is proposed or a general obscurity that has not been announced directly by the officials responsible for releasing such information. If Treyarch hasn't announced it yet, then it is a leak whether or not it can be determine legitimate. People have been getting so uppity on it, that they will cry even at an allusion to it. I guess I'm just really indifferent on it. A leak is still against the rules, but at the same time, it can still be very credible. You're right, Fated; if it's true, then we should expect something very soon from Treyarch themselves. If not, oh well.

Verruckt Five Call of the Dead Shangri-la No Man's Land Nuketown Zombies You can't tell me me we don't have hard maps. I understand that you want a particular 1-up in difficulty, but it's becoming harder and harder by the second. Even Die Rise's awkward vertical layout makes training almost impossible unless you go to one or two particular rooms. Without them, you'd better hope that you know how to hold out well.
-
What we do know is that we will return back to Green Run. We may not have a route right now, but it isn't to say that there won't be one later down the line. Keep your head up, friendo. :)

It doesn't really go against anything that has been said. When you play as Samuel, you're the only one who can hear those voices. When zombies are killed off, you'll hear the moans and cries more and more. Some have even said that just being around a zombie can have the same effect.
-
It's not a bad window to look from actually. I don't necessarily think that zombies were talking to Richtofen prior to him being in the Aether, but rather the dark entity that resides within the MPD. This sinister force desired for him to enter the Aether mainly as a puppet. With Richtofen in control, this entity can use him to their advantage. For was reasons or evidence found, I wouldn't know. All that we know is that a dark entity lies inside the MPD according to Samantha's quote on Moon. This could be the same voice that communicates with Stuhlinger throughout the game (not intro). If not, it could just simply be the anguish of zombies as they are killed off during the match.

Good discovery on the Broken Arrow reference, friendo! Could we for a second guesstimate how old Stuhlinger might be? I would suspect somewhere in his 40's, but that is alone by appearance and how he acts/speaks. Broken Arrow does allude to some kind of event that occurs some fourty years back if we are to assume Stuhlinger is indeed in his 40's. That means if we are currently somewhere in 2025 (or within that time proximity), something occurred in the 1980s. I can't fathom what might have happened. Some things that I found within that pre-suggested time: Date: October 3, 1986 Location: Atlantic Ocean A Soviet "Yankee I"-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine suffered an explosion and fire in one of its missile tubes 480 miles east of Bermuda. The submarine sank while under tow on October 6 in 18,000 feet of water. Two nuclear reactors and approximately 34 nuclear weapons were on board. Date: April 7, 1989 Location: Atlantic Ocean About 300 miles north of the Norwegian coast, the Komsomolets, a Soviet nuclear-powered attack submarine, caught fire and sank. The vessel's nuclear reactor, two nuclear-armed torpedoes, and 42 of the 69 crew members were lost. Date: August 10, 1985 Location: Near Vladivostok, Russia While at the Chazhma Bay repair facility, about 35 miles from Vladivostok, an "Echo"-class Soviet nuclear-powered submarine suffered a reactor explosion. The explosion released a cloud of radioactivity toward Vladivostok but did not reach the city. Ten officers were killed in the explosion. It's hard to think that someone like Russman would even speak of an incident remotely similar to these.

A system based on three parts or an element, or the division of three instances. I know a triangle automatically comes to mind because...well, the shape has three points. And we know that the Tranzit Easter Egg involves intensifying/reducing the power output of the streetlights a.k.a. "points". Confusing yet? But what is interesting is just how a trichotomous system occurs. If you read Section 2, you can see that the trichotomous system does not necessarily have to be internal, but external as well. That means powering the pylon could have three roles due to our actions. The obtuse angles mentioned only justify internal measures in order to assist in creating the trichtomous system. The angles are internal as the process of what the pylon does after the Easter Egg is external. There isn't a relationship between the two; only a step and a result.
