I have joined your ranks. Broke down and picked up the discounted Black Ops off steam, only seemed right with a handful of first strike PC tokens in my hands ya so anyway I have it on PC and would love to play with you guys, not sure how it all works, the only time I have used steam was for beta testing games. My gamertag showed up as "carbonfibah" when I played zombies so I guess that is my name. I am new at this, so lemme know what is goin on haha. Also totally lost when it comes to trying to play MP.

Originally it was set at 1, so that is what I put it back to. No instant results, but maybe I have to re-index it, or delete cookies, perhaps there is something that needs to be reset. That's all I got at the moment, but thanks for that, I forgot I had changed that awhile back.

re-creating the index didn't work.

No, I changed some things and disabled it. I just deleted the search index I had and am currently indexing all the posts now to see if that will fix the problem.

Well if you do, you have to help me with a problem. Awhile ago the site was using a lot of CPU and we were being trottled by the host. Now I looked up these occurrences and found that the site was snagging up because of something one person did with the search feature, whatever it may be. So until I could fix the search, I disabled it. Well now trying to reactivate it, it doesn't seem to work. It says Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes. It could be an issue where it is not connecting to the database correctly to get the content. Now, I am not sure what needs to be fixed or changed. This is what I currently have the forum's search settings to. So if we can get this resolved then those features can return.

Chat will remain down indefinitely. However. The only way I will bring back the official CoDz chat is when I get the new server and I create a new clean chat, and I password protect it and only allow certain users on. This will obviously keep the chat mature and clean. Only issue is all the young kids who will complain about not being in chat and the chat will become an exclusive club and that is not cool. I wont take a poll as everyone will just want chat back. I don't mean to be a jerk, but you can try and convince me that the chat should come back all you want, but I refuse to budge on my stance as I have very VALID reasons.

Ok. lol Here we go, this is my reasoning behind the chat being taken down. A long time ago when CoDz was a free forum they offered a small embeddable chatbox. It was right there on the top of the forum. Now this was used a lot by everyone as we feverishly discussed zombies theories for world at war, so many brilliant theories and core concepts of zombies that we all know today were discussed, concocted and researched in that chatbox. Now CoDz was still relatively small at that point with a core group who used the chat properly and behaved. Now we outgrew that free site quickly and the new CoDz that we have today was born. Now my thinking was that we had a simple chat on the old forum, lets get a nice new chat for the new site. So we (shri046) made a new chat which we use today. Now at first it was great. But over time the more users that use it, the integrity has decreased. Originally CoDz was a forum. A board that you could go to and post your theories, share ideas, etc... the chat was just a nice way to instantly share ideas, links, research, gaming, etc... There is always the issue of people spending more time in chat then posting on the forum. A forum feeds on posts, so you are starving the CoDz forum by blabbing away in chat about off topic jibber jabber when you could use your time to share your ideas with other members. So for a forum to be successful a chat is logically speaking, unnecessary. So with that being my core basis for my decision to remove the chat, let me just share a few minor reasons. 1. Currently the chat and how it is set up is causing the site to lag. It is just another thing that is slowing down the site. 2. Immature behavior is making the CoDz chat atmosphere one which is neither family friendly, or public acceptable behavior. I get way too many PM's from people complaining to me about so and so said this in chat or did this in chat, I have had enough of it. If you want to chat so bad you can do so off CoDz turf. 3. Chat is a privilege and it is currently being abused.

Honestly, NO, NO WAY am i putting the chat back up anytime soon. Reasons: 1. It lags the site down, and until enough money is donated for me to turn my old PC into a server it will remain down 2. Little kids just sit around and spam/flame/argue/misbehave... I get too many PMs from people complaining about the language in the chat, so.... yeah 3. There is no big news to chat about and nobody uses it to discuss zombie theories 4. Chat is a privilege, everybody abuses it, so sorry.... chat is gone for awhile.

I just ordered a pair of Astro A30's. They allow for removable and customizable speaker tags. I was hoping someone on codz could create me some real nice ones. I think I will buy 2 or 3 sets, so that would be 6 tags in total. Please post your ideas and any submissions you have. I am open to anything, as long as it is either zombies or codz related. try not to use treyarch logos to any of that as the speaker tag submission will be rejected, codz logo is ok i think, if there is an issue I can talk to Stan, the community manager for Astro.
