Says the guy with 15 posts one of which was a picture, I wonder. who the troll is? OP asks some questions worthy of being asked. I wish I could answer them, but alas along with most of the community I am not able to.

Crazy odd ball thought, but. Is it just me or does the light behind the quick revive look like the moon. I just happened to notice that behind the QR machine there is a lot of effort made to texture the wall that is bathed in light from the QR. Where as no where else on that wall does the texture appear to be raised. I have only played Ascension a few times and have now deleted first strike so I cant go back and look. Dont realy want to bother dowloading it again as I prefer the older MP maps.

LOL I personally like the song. Like this image though lol Ha Ha yeh its not so bad getting Rick rolled when you grew up listening to him. The man is humble. "End the War" now where have I seen that before?

I am not sure what your intention is, so please forgive me if I misunderstand. If your looking for console hacks, zombies gets stale quite soon with hacks as there really is no challenge or objective. If you are interested in making maps and learning a little bit about scripting this might be the place to start. http://wiki.treyarch.com/wiki/Main_Page Though obviously the above link is only relevant for PC. Have fun.

If you cant quantify your statement please do not post. No one found nothing...? A paradox
-
I disagree with your statment. From the coding in Der Riese it is clear that we have not found all there is to find. For a start there are two power switches in Der Reise confirmed by the script.

I just listened to Major Nelsons podcast and it would appear that Mr Bunting mentions EEs very specificaly with regards the SP campaing. Taking the context of the conversation into account I think you may have misinterpreted what he was saying. Though this does not mean that I think there is nothing left to find in the BO zombie levels.
-
Ha you never know, JD when he was talking about the map did say "be aware of your exposure to long range weapons". Though he was probably just talking about Snipers

Why Richtofen is in an astronaut suit *UPDATED* 2/24
WhosOnFirst replied to Powerhouse631's topic in Ascension
I really liked this post, it would be a credible addition to the storyline in this possible alternate time that Treyarch have presented to us. It would seem it also ties in with the feel of what we are witnessing happen in Ascension. Richtofen is indeed wearing a spacesuit, the rocket would seem to be programmed to take up orbit around the Moon and not Earth, clearly indicated by the announcer. If the monkeys are not dropping off of a mothership in orbit then the next likely location would be the Moon. Lots of indications in the map to suggest that the Moon could be a map a some point in the future. -
There are a whole bunch of ways to think about what "Beware the 6" actualy means. To choose one over the other just because it fits your comfortable way of thinking is only natural, however to claim that someone elses way of thinking is wrong because it does not fit in with your reality would be ignorant. I like to hear ideas like the OP has posted, they are just as valid as the simple explanations, proof does not lie in what the majority decide is the current truth. No matter how loudly they shout!

http://rapidshare.com/files/448346496/My_Movie.wmv I exported the Bink file as tiffs and then made a wmv from it. File size is 121670KB, should be the same quality as the original, but runs a little slower as I could not work out what frame rate to use. Hope it helps.

I am not sure, but given it is an MP level I would imagine a full lobby might be required.
-
Yes there is a power switch but I do not know if it is a trigger for something larger. Going from previous Eggs such as Nuketown, I would expect this Egg to have to involve a full lobby. It might even tie into other MP levels, though I have no idea how this Egg could be accessed.

Reserved for edits and additional info. Please keep all thoughts on this subject in this one topic. I will update the thread as often as is nescecary to add relevant information. Please remember that CODz search is disabled for the presant, so it would be helpful to you and others to use the thread for the topic of "Discovery Easter Eggs.

You might have seen a previous topic regarding possible Easter Eggs in Discovery but those threads did not have much weight behind them and got lost in the speculation concerning "Ascension". So I took the chance to do some further research and the results are posted here for you. The following information at least in my eyes is quite compelling evidence to support the theory that there is far more to "Discovery" than we may have realised. All the source material is from official sources such as Microsoft or Treyarch and all links for sources will be provided for you to check my work and hopefully add to it yourselves. First off we will start with the description for the map that was released in “First Strike”. “Discovery” “Unlock the mysteries of this abandoned German research station in Antarctica” The sources used to compile this information are as follows CoD HQ for the Screenshots http://www.callofduty.com/blackops/dlc-1-first-strike Call of Duty Official Youtube Channel for the three “First Strike” related videos http://www.youtube.com/callofduty#p/u/2/DEB0H90lt_M For any other comparison screenshots I have used the theatre mode on my account, I will note where each image is taken from if it is not self-explanatory. So without further ado let’s begin in earnest, the image below is taken from CoD HQ and you can see I have highlighted an area with a blue and red box. Within the blue box can be seen a device that is shown many times during the “First Strike” trailers but cannot be found on the actual map during gameplay. In fact this device is not always present in the videos or screenshots. As a comparison you can clearly see below from another CoD HQ screenshot that the device cannot be seen in this shot, this would indicate that it might be activated by a trigger. The next screenshot is also from CoD HQ and shows that the lights on top of Building 4 are lit up brightly with blue light; again this feature is not seen during gameplay on the map as far as I am aware and I have included a short video to demonstrate this. So as with above, below we can see that there might be a trigger involved with activating this blue light. A short video as comparison. Ja2TLNv2nKo The next image is also an CoD HQ screenshot, this image shows that the background of the level clearly has some raised features such as a cliff. If you note the position of the raised red/ white tank within the red box I have added and then check its position on the comparison image I have taken in theatre, you should be able to see a considerable difference in the geometry of the map we play on and the one shown in the screenshot. This is a comparison screenshot from my theatre for the image above. This next one is a bit harder to spot and I would encourage you to watch the video for yourselves. This image is taken from the “First Strike” teaser trailer. OMEeqWBWjv8 The image shows what appear to be two unidentified objects travelling from outside the map area at height over the map itself. Here are two further screenshots from that same video, one showing the device in the antenna base and another from the same video again where the device does not appear. All the following screenshots are taken from the “First Strike” Trailer that was made for “Xbox”. DEB0H90lt_M They all demonstrate that the map we are playing might be changed through the use of “trigger events” So what I have posted above is pretty much all I could find from looking at the videos and screenshots for “Discovery”, so below I will post a few select screenshots from my theatre and a couple of textures from the PC files which are re-used in “Discovery”. The above two images are textures from the PC files. The following images are from my theatre. Don’t drink and Dive This is in the building across from 34, it looks like something was caged and escaped ! This is another shot of the above room from outside of it. Some papers on the floor of building 34. The rest of these images are comparisons from my theatre for those who don’t yet have first strike and are just for general interest. This last image is from campaign Intel for “Project Nova” and might or might not be relevant, I thought I should include it as not to rule anything out. So that’s it, for now. If you think I might be on to something I encourage you to check out the resources yourself. You might Chance upon a Trigger that I have not seen or posted about. 8-) If you stayed with me this far, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed. Dont forget to reply with your thoughts. If you are having problems viewing this topic due to screen size, let me know and I will resize the images.

Haha the green stands out a bit better than white text. Well I am surprised, or am I? that this thread looks as though it might be dead! As you say BOT it would make sense if the map showed the location of the ship stuck in the ice, I mean to say the map is from campaing itself and was a reused texture for the "Discovery" map. I seem to remember the intel might have mentioned the location of the ship, I will have a look now and update tomorrow if I find anything. I would love to see a UFO in this map lol, does anyone have any thought on what this mystery might be?

just explored every digital inch of ascension
WhosOnFirst replied to xcodesterox's topic in Ascension
I would like to agree with you but it is one of those things that cannot be conclusively be proved by just using no-clip. I mean if you have used no-clip you should already be aware that there are section of the map that do not render even when you are right next to them, yes? Now I would like to see a comparison test of sorts before I can take the no-clip argument seriously. How about you no-clip a level from W@W such as the Campaing level "Little Resistance" where the Ray guns appear. I would be willing to lay a small bet that the statues under the map are not visible using no-clip until they are activated by the trigger. If I am correct this alone proves that no-clip cannot be relied on to find Easter Eggs unless Treyarch have decided that there is something they want you to see. Seriously think about it, are you suggesting Devs would not have guessed the community would try everything they could to find all the secrets. This is the Egg I am talking about, worth a Watch. Oh bless silly me, I am blaming this on BOT programming me, always typing in green. I will edit my post now. Thanks for pointing out my mistake nicely
-
Here is the map BOT mentioned in his post. As you said there are certain things that tie in with the campaing level, there were three A4/V2 rockets in the ship stuck in the ice from memory. The ones containg Nova gas to be launched at America. On a side note I really like the Northern Lights (Aurora) that they put in on the Dome. Nice touch. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora_(astronomy) Edited due to an unexusable lack of geographical awareness

Yes it is very likely they are recycling previous models as that is how maps are generaly built, rather than make new textures for each map. However I believe you are missing the point entirely, we had EE on Nuketown and the hint was given by Vahn on I believe GTTV. I also believe there is talk amongst the community of an EE on Summit, though no-one has been able to confirm where that info came from. I am sure I remember Vahn or someone else even indicating that there was a way to launch the rocket early on "Launch" but to be honest I dont fancy trawling through trailers to find that info; if it does exist at all. Now here for the first time we have a huge hint actually in game and not some clue that was released in a trailer that has long been forgotten that one of the maps in BO MP1 has mysterys to be solved. Please go and look at the map description in game for all the BO maps and then check out how differant the description for First Strike "Discovery" is. Quote ""Unlock the mysteries of this abandoned WW2 German research station in Antartica." I have yet to see this info posted elsewhere so you have a chance to find something before this ends up all over youtube and information gets FUBAR.

Truly, I would ignore the coding and rely on common sence and observation. I dont think the easter egg is done by any means, but then I question wether step one has even been achieved yet? If someone has the map on PC as has been claimed numerous times, why are there no no-clip vids? Isnt it strange how this is the second anti climatic event in Zombies, the fly trap being the first. I think people really need to step back and stop presuming that what has been done so far is right and ask some simple questions. If I presume I know all there is, then there is nothing new that I may learn.
-
Good topic, I had a look around that room myself and there is a lighting glitch that happens in a certain spot when looking at the power boxes on the wall next to the stairs. You need to be on the ground floor to see this I posted a topic about Discovery that no one seemed to hear viewtopic.php?f=60&p=65182#p65182 So I will make it plain and simple, the description for the Discovery map says "Unlock the mysteries of this abandoned WW2 German research station in Antartica." So maybe, just maybe there is an EE to be found in Discovery?? :D

Have you played Discovery yet? Unlock the mysteries of this abandoned WW2 German research station in Antartica.
