* CODZ exclusive* I suspect that looking at the pictures, Woods has, wait for it, FRECKLES!!! I know it's controversial, but if you look at pic 1 and pic 4 I am almost sure. That's right ladies, you heard it here first.

nice work, detail is great. Shame most are ones we have seen before but it is nice to see them in much higher quality, hope that this is from the game and not post-touch up in the editing suite.

Well, UM, it's called BlackRock but that doesn't mean much to most people, it's not high street, we deal with Pensions and stuff. I work all the way out by the Tower of London (which is lovely except for the tourists ) Nice to be back, good to see some friendly faces too, and sooo many new membes. Quality.

Hey all, just realised that I hadn't posted an intro on the site, not even sure if I did on the old site so thought I'd have a bash. WAW was a bit of a revolution for me, I bought COD4 and played but it was WAW that made me get a mic and get my mates involved online and I haven't looked back since. Totally loving the zombies efforts both by Treyarch and by this forum, legendary. WAW swallowed a huge part of my life and I've loved every minute of it, a bit sad that MW2 hasn't had the same effect. I found the original forum off the back of Carbon's unbelievable original post on aggregame detailing what he thought was the zombie story and got hooked from there. I've been a bit involved in the what we know project but my work means that I only get to get on briefly at work, mainly at lunch (I work in a kind of bank in london, UK), so it means I don't get to contribute as much as I would like to and my postings tend to be sporadic, opinionated and far too long so don't be afraid to tell me to STFU! :x On a more personal level, I'm 31, I got married last year and we're due to have baby Tank Nicolai Edward Takeio (jk) in the next couple of weeks so I probably won't be on much, just need to work out how I am going to get the time to play BlackOps lolz. Anyway, look forward to speaking to you at some point Oh yeah, the avatar is a picture of Alf Garnet, an old and now distinctly out of touch comedian from way back. Apparently with round glasses on I look like him. Cheers. :geek:

MW2 = Join friends game in progress WAW = Nope you have to join up and then go in MW2 = Squad system where 100% squad joins game WAW = squad system where people randomly drop out and you have to start again MW2 = quick join to squads WAW = constant re-trying to join squads Maybe it's a flaw in europe but I have real issues with WAW squad and friends system. MW2, You can invite people to your squad in mid game, unless I am mistaken?!?! Granted my connection isn't always great (sucks when it rains :?: ) but normally 3/4 bars. When I talk about connectivity and lag I guess I am talking about game connection generally, not hit detection and stab-lag. I'm not saying MW2 is perfect, sometimes host lag still affects and we switch and sometimes that fails but not that often. I reckon 2 or 3 out 5 zombie games end up with someone lagging out or connection being lost and we have to start again. drive me mental. I'm not picking a fight with you over MW2, I know you hate it and a lot of the reasons I agree with but I think there are elements of it that can definitely be learnt from.

ahhhhhhhhh. Sorry, to re-emphasise that statement: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! *facepalm* That does explain everything me thinks, of course Der Reise is based mainly off nightfire and the extra staircase is a legacy from that. Alphasnake, thank you, you have filled a small hole in my life which was forever bothering me and I am going to give you Brains every day this week to say thank you. Much appreciated. Now if you could just solve the question marks, the Country boards, the clock, the lighthouse and anything else we have missed I would much appreciate it thanks

I'd forgotten about this, it drove me mad for ages. So if you number them from top to bottom as such; 1 2 3 4 1 is just the corner of a room 2 is the room with quick revive, near a spawn point 3 is a spawn point in the little room 4 is near 2 spawn points, overlooking the courtyard you can't get to and near the stairs which don't exist (near juggernaut) Maybe you need to get each of the characters to stand at them and do *something*. Did we ever resolve the mystery about the staircase that didn't exist and the second level to Der Reise which somehow gets unlocked? Was that all bullshit or was there something to it? Didn't we get a clue that the answer was right in front of us?

so loads of you guys have been boosting? Quite surprised at that. I'm level 70 Zero prestige. It took me months to get there because I don't play that often and so the thought of having to go through it all again sends shivers down my spine. Just for a new icon? No ta. Plus a couple of the guys I go on with have prestiged and hated it soooo much. Put me right off.

The problem I have with MW2 is that a lot of it is too easy to get kills. Don't get me wrong I love the attachments, the guns the killstreaks and a lot of the perks but it makes it into a slaughter fest and that's not really what i want. I don't think it is because I am a bad player, most games I finish at least on par (Kills=deaths or better), but it feels fake. I've been back playing some WAW recently and rediscovered the MG42 and the PPSH, now those are some guns I can get on with. INteresting too that the MP40 n00bs seem largely to have moved on to MW2, now you find people trying all sorts of different guns. nice.

good point re the timing I'd not really thought of that. IDK. Re the numbers I guess they might have 20/50/100 people in a closed beta test looking for glitches (limited due to cost), compared to an open Beta which might have what 50,000/100,000/200,000 game freaks banging away at it 24/7 with some looking to boost/cheat/hack. Look at the recent COD release and you see how quick hacks and cheats proliferate around the community and then get shut down (hopefully). I'm talking from a position of absolutely zero actual knowledge by the way, just guess work. Would be interested to know the thoughts of anyone who is/has done testing or who knows anyone who has.
-
Beta isn't always about servers though, a lot of it is about testing physics and gameplay mechanics, if one game is a port of the other then in theory there is no point in testing both, it will just cost more. Not that I am in favour of single console Beta, quite the opposite.

wow that's a bit 2+2=7, even for us lot, are you saying that there WILL be Zombies? Are you? Hmmm?

Actually you should be hating on Sony, Microsoft have paid up to get the exclusive 1 month early, Sony, despite being behind in the console race, have decided that they don't need this kind of exclusive and so haven't bothered. None of it is to do with Treyarch, it's not like they have said, hmm ibble dibble dogs dibble Xbox is best. :x SCE :x

for Multiplayer, M1A1, for zombies the most practical, MG42 but the most fun i think is the headpopper, the PPSH. I found out earlier this week that my friend got the chance to fire one at the weekend. said it was the most amazing thing he had ever done. Jealous much  [brains]

The Cuba Project (AKA operation mogoose) was the Kennedy authorised attempt to assasinate Castro and get Cuba in revolt; http://www2.cddc.vt.edu/marxists/history/cuba/subject/cia/mongoose/c-project.htm

woooooah, takes you back to the screen the guys hacked, where you can see all the TV's and the zombie hands. You can play the transmissions through still but you can see all the screens, not had a chance to analyse what changes across all the screens yet. Very cool. Edit - Once you tune the TV the new button plays a repeated symbol over and over which looks like a K overlayed over a G (GK?!?!).
-
The spy plane? I can see the link between that and all the other cold war stuff, my assumption was that maybe it was being used to beam radio waves into people's heads to brainwash them or something. Not sure how it fits with the passwords tho
-
the recent update wiped all the missions and death cards? Are the trophies still sound? Might have to go and have a look at it. You mean where you are in the hut and you see the guy get stabbed? I've seen his face in the split screen many times.

been playing over the last week or so as been getting a bit bored with MW2 (hit level 70 can't be arsed to prestige). Noticed a few things; Zombies is way more enjoyable and rewarding than MW2 multiplayer MW2 friends hook-up system is light years ahead, I miss it when I play WAW WAW connectivity sucks major ass - I spent most of today with people dropping out of games, games lagging, failing to find games. ALMOST enough to put you off. MW2 plays pretty much perfectly, why can't WAW??? Can normally get into a Zombies game ok, it's just whether it stays running with all 4 people. Nothing more frustrating than working up to level 20 and people start lagging and dropping out. Treyarch, if you read this, PLEASE sort it out for the next game

I think "algorithmic" is related to "High-Frequency Trading" (http://www.google.fr/search?sourceid=na ... +frequency). So I guess that it means the frequencies found in the Marie Curie code must not be high so we must divide them. And the MOD says 100 leading us to Uranium and Plutonium. As for the cipher, the quote from Kryptos suggests to use the keyed Vigenere Cipher (or Quagmire III) according to the previous transmissions: http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/vigenere-keyed.php I'm pretty sure that linking algorithm and frequency shouldn't lead to algorithmic trading. Its to do with stock Market investing and I don't see how it could be linked to cold war zombies or this mystery. I work in a bank that does this trading and I don't see any connection.

Further info, so the Film 12 monkeys with bruce willis (space and time travel and general weirdness), was based on a 1960's art house film La Jetee by Chris Marker (source: http://everything2.com/title/La+Jetee). The original film was a series of stills that fade into each other with an anonymous author telling the story. SOUND FAMILIAR? I can't get the film La Jetee to play on my pc at worker because I only have IE6 and nothing supports it (GAH!!) but I can see it is on youtube if anyone can play it and see. have a look and let me know.

I googled "Kenneth, what's the frequency" and found this site about a journo call Dan Rather, don't know whether it would be worth trying "rather" as the cypher? I'll keep reading; http://www.harpers.org/archive/2001/12/0075777 It might not refer to REM's song. *EDIT* Ahh, the REM song refers to the incident with the journalist Dan Rather. He was attacked by a random guy who demanded "Kenneth, what's the frequency" and then beat him up when he would not say. In '97 the attacker was identified as William Tager who blamed the news media for beaming signals into his head. He thought if he could find the correct frequency he could block the signals. Sound like a Zombies storyline? Signals being beamed into people's heads? Who knows, I'll keep looking. *EDIT2* woooah there, weird-a-rooney, check out this website; http://www.ape-o-naut.org/innuendo/ Now that IS strange. If you remove the Innuendo part and go to the main site you get here; http://www.ape-o-naut.org/ A page which opens with "It's the 50th anniversary of Able and Baker's flight on May 28, 1959." Monkeys in space. It's a page with only 7 hits. THAT's strange *EDIT3* Apparently, according to this site, the Innuendo/Tager/Rather story is the real 12 monkeys story.

YES!!! WAR FTW! The mw2 killstreaks are out of control... you can get spawn trapped quite easily with a harrier and a sentry gun. Game design FAIL. You don't have a cold blooded anti-killstreak class? Perk selection FAIL! Defo bring back WAR, I like all the perks and killstreaks and gun options, it means you are less likely to see the same loadout for everyone, which means more variety and more ways to kill and be killed. I liked the idea of tanks but they didn't work, they were too powerful. Maybe some kind of lighter vehicle like a jeep or something.
