Future Zombies Treyarch Hints from DICE Chat
Lizizadolphin replied to yourmapper's topic in Research & Development
Very much this. Richtofen didn't have a profile image so they just reused one of the others, explaining why it was smudged as well as crossed out. The fact that he didn't originally have a profile image back then is a little interesting, was all of this being eluded to back then? -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvDQqOMV8hU This is only one image, but in the beginning of this video @LiamFTWinter explains how Treyarch did change their profile image that day to Takeo, and the previous day they had changed it to Dempsey's profile image, the same profile images used in the DICE presentation -

Currently looking for them, it's difficult to find them as if they were the link to the profile image it wouldn't work anymore since the image isn't there, but they did exist as profile images for Treyarch's twitter prior to Origins release. -

That was me! They were there from maybe a week or two before the map itself came out, so some time in early August. -

I think the heart and the brain are on the pages in the background because of the title of the presentation itself "Treyarch's Zombies: Following the Fun to Win Hearts... And Brains" -

Yeah I thought he was talking about the pictures from the presentation, totally my mistake -

I don't think there are any file names, most of the images we have are what people have captured from watching videos of the stream itself, no official images. Also it's hard for a generic grayed out picture to actually look like a person. -

Those two pictures, both from this thread http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/index.php/topic/178522-future-zombies-treyarch-hints-from-dice-chat/: http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/uploads/monthly_02_2015/post-117086-0-44278900-1423094658.jpg http://i.gyazo.com/7ce25101cad29fac787d983c6e079dd8.png -
Searched through the thread and nothing seemed to have come up (I may be wrong), but it looks as though there is a bit of the swirl writing from the Verruckt wall. Right below the pyramid you can see the inner part of the swirl, and how it faintly spirals out. http://i32.tinypic.com/2yw8kzt.jpg"Nerve impulses generated by the motor neuron activate the muscle to which the stretch receptor is attached." I can also see part of the zombie eating an arm, part of the schnell word bubble, and bits of the writing from the top right hand corner of that ^ image.

Future Zombies Treyarch Hints from DICE Chat

I think his look is shock and realization, because a hell of a lot of sh*t has happened to him (all of the men at the site getting sick, dying, then coming back as zombies) and now he's had to remove the brain of his oldest friend, pretty much the last person he probably cares about, in hopes that he can somehow be saved. It's not just Richtofen who is different. I'm having trouble finding words to explain it, but it's as if they're complete opposites, and these characters from Origins are a bit more 'saintly' or good, in a way. -

Well, what are some reasons we can think of for someone to want to get rid of him? Someone's hatred towards him (Maxis, Samantha) could be one reason, causing them to remove his existence so they don't have to think about him OR to possibly stop some events from happening. Another reason I can think of is maybe he's getting in the way of someone's plan? Only reason I've thought of that is because we've only seen him removed in pictures having to do with Origins, and some of Sam's quotes towards him in Origins ("You're not listening, Edward. Don't you want to help me?", "You cannot prevent what is coming, Edward. The loop must be closed.", "You can't ignore me forever, Richtofen, you know what needs to happen.") sort of sound as thought he's getting in the way of her plans by not helping release her. -

I think it's because of the fading and how much was erased. -

I think in either this thread or another I had said something about these profiles, the image they used to cross out is Dempsey's profile, you can see from the shape of the shoulder and the folds in the cloth. These images were used by Treyarch as profile images on twitter before Origins came out, and Richtofen was the only one not used. -

He's not only crossed out, but also erased. Someone REALLY wants him gone. -

Richtofen? Perhaps these are gestures to the good doctor NOT being in the same realm as the other 3 now.... With the intro where his "profile" is erased and crossed out, it seems like someone is purposefully trying to remove him for some reason. -

I was going to say something about this but right now there isn't much to go off. The only thing I'll say, which doesn't relate to story or anything, is that these images come from back before Origins came out. Treyarch changed their profile image several times, showing each of these images. If my memory is correct, there was no Richtofen profile put up, and if you look closely at what would be the Richtofen profile, you can see that it's just Dempsey's profile being reused. -

Just noticed the letter too, it makes me wonder if this was a concept, but why would the signature be there? What about the orange writing and then under it the white where it says Germany, am I the only one that sees the BO2 map loading screen thing. Thats why it could be different. I see that now too, same format and everything. -

The Der Riese loading image on the tv is different from both the WaW and Black Ops version of Der Riese. The font on the tv is the same as the comic book's font, but the drawing itself looks different. Also in the box at the top is different and it looks to me that it says Dr. Richtofen? The end of the word make it seem that way. -
Great stuff Liz, I don't think I had noticed that before. I had only spotted 935 & 1915. @Slade Never had noticed the left to right order for Die Rise isn't correct either. Thanks for that Slade. Chinese comic for a Chinese map. Cheers! I knew there was something I had forogtten with the blueprint but I couldnt get a clear picture to look at, thanks! I heard a friend mention Chinese comics being backwards too. Edit: The tofen is for Richtofen! Wow I have never seen this before! SO what is the xis L mean? Axis L? Edit 2: The word could be Phylaxis, idk what the L is but basically it means "Protection against infection" Could the blue print be some sort of defense against the undead? Created by Richtofen and thats where we are going next? Edit 3: Sorry for my stupidity. Its blatantly Maxis! Has anyone actually made a post on this before? I'm not sure there's a post on it. I feel a post would have been better, say, before Origins, where you see that and start to speculate why their names are on there and why it says 1915.
-
Alright, ya got me. But why would they not use the blueprint? Similar to my question of why they didn't use a comic page for Green Run. I'm guessing the blueprint wouldn't seem as 'epic' as what the loading screen currently is. The comic book image is great, shows a good amount of what's in the map, while the blueprint may have shown something that wasn't present in the map. Also, if the portions of names were picked up earlier, then people might have gone "Wait a minute, that doesn't really make any sense." Green Run being a postcard is a little confusing, I don't see why they couldn't go for something like Kino where it sums up the few maps from WaW and shows how they got to Kino.

Another thing about the blueprint: it does say 1915, but did you see the writing above it? (Hint-it says 'tofen' and 'xis L') There's also a measurement for the robot on the side, 91.44 M to be exact (that's about 300 FT). http://gyazo.com/6dfddc325a4832d661753cf46ada6c1c
