  1. Hmm...you know, they've been saying the answer is "right in front of our eyes" for some time now. And nothing is as right in front of our eyes as a box cover. This whole time I never made the connection between the man's posture and the whole "strapped to a chair" thing. He seems rather heavily armed for someone who's strapped down, and those aren't restraints on his wrists, it's a bracelet and a watch. But after everything in the live drop, I think he might have been programmed, armed and released. As for Sally, who knows? Too vague.
  2. Unsure as of this time. Continue to observe and report.
  3. That's what I thought at first, but given the date, "Special Operations Group" sounds like it could be the title of something more modern. Like Special Operations Command aka SOCOM.
  4. Huh. I know Black Ops is supposed to be about the Cold War but that ended 20 years ago and look at the dates on that document. Present day. Just like the GK emails. The paper appears to document an aerial recon assisted ground operation to mark targeted enemy war materiel, not for destruction, but for tracking.
  5. gamerfan had already stated that Carbon and everyone else knows HL is fake. He should have already known and he shouldn't be posting if he doesn't know what was already found out. My apologies then, but I didn't know that either and I've been posting here for months now, and some of your recent posts just seemed unnecessarily rude and it's obvious this guy is still pretty new. I'm not saying to agree with someone who's blatantly wrong, just have some patience is all and we can all be friends. I'm only telling you this because I don't want a moderator to ban you, especially since you're not only contributing but you're also one of the people who understands how to use things like that TFA program.
  6. Stargate fan much? :)
  7. 6 hour storyline, absolutely ridiculous Spec Ops missions, crap checkpoints, crap enemy spawns, invincible AI. Besides that, the whole thing was overhyped and turned out to be a massive disappointment. Why? Because I don't enjoy the same garbage from every Call Of Duty game I play. Juggernaut, dropshotters, grenade launchers, martyrdom, some prime examples. It's an opinion based thread, let's please leave it at that. I respect your right to your own opinion but that doesn't stop anyone from trying to change it. I won't argue about multiplayer, and I agree with you on Spec Ops. But allow me to defend on some points. YES, the storyline WAS short, but this game in particular seems to get an unfair amount of criticism for that on account of MW2 was longer than half the Call of Duty games that came out before it. Do you honestly not expect a corridor shooter to be short? Whatever problems there were with checkpoints and enemy spawns existed, I didn't notice them. The AI might be invincible, but would you honestly prefer to fail and fail and fail again just because your squad leader keeps sticking his fool head over the top and getting it shot off? But yeah, I agree with everyone here who thinks MW2's multiplayer sucks. Then again I never really was all that into mindless deathmatches, but even I know how bad they f**ked up by not including dedicated servers.
  8. Ah, don't worry about it, Anti Earth. I actually kinda agreed with your outburst.
  9. Hey, don't flame the guy. At least he's trying. Unlike some people here.
  10. I think you may have stumbled upon something here. I just read some of the Der Riese articles on the main page a few hours ago and at the time it didn't seem important, especially next to codename Chronos, but there was a part of the "Fly Trap/Die Glocke" article where they talked about Nick Cook's book "The Hunt for Zero Point" where they mentioned a codename Laternenträger, aka Lantern holder. This may be important. I recommend you take this to the "More to solve on Der Reise" thread. If this leads somewhere, carbonfibah and the community at large will want to know about it.
  11. Who thought you were dead? Your name wasn't scratched from the list.
  12. I always thought, when the guy you're playing as has two guns, and you just saw them drop and come back up instead of reload, that it was because the guy you're playing as is such a heavily armed badass that he carries around a sack full of loaded pistols and when he's done he just throws them away like he has enough guns to use them as paperweights, doorstops and TV remote controls.
  13. How does a shitty multiplayer equate to a bad game? It's always been a tacked-on secondary component. World at War was the only game to do multiplayer right with their plot-driven Nazi Zombies. I know it's not World War 2, but I'll give you some examples of WW2 games that suck. Battlefield 1942 and Day of Defeat. Steaming piles without even a half-baked attempt at a narrative.
  14. Wait a minute, Doctor Cameron's the guy from that Sleep Room book, right? The guy who was putting people into induced comas?
  15. techniqaly there nbot dead, they'll be back, alsong as IW are making mw3 :S Oh they're dead all right. People who get killed tend to wind up dead for some reason. If they're in ModWar3, it'll be because Soap took a minute to sigh, say "I miss Ghost and Roch," and then go back to shooting at soldiers from whichever country plays the bad guy this time. China maybe? But as I recall, there once was talk from the devs of a prequel game where you played as Ghost. Then again there was also talk of a Half-Life game where you played as Alyx, and given Valve Time if they ever get around to it they'll probably have forgotten all about it by then.
  16. It is the amount of downloads you can use per month. I dont see how you are being ignorant though.... Stupidity is a lack of wisdom, ignorance is a lack of knowledge. He didn't know something and was therefore ignorant, but was wise to ask and therefore gain knowledge.
  17. Good find, good find. Maybe. Might be old news but it's new to me. You should probably have posted this in the "More to solve on Der Reise" thread though.
  18. Yeah, my bad for the little topic-jack there. Anyway, I'd totally go out and buy that Jeep if I had enough Benjamins to wipe my ass with.
  19. Spammed grenades and a banzai charger running past all of your team is not awesome or epic in SP. Agreed. I was thinking more along the lines of Soap and Roach making that snowmobile jump, the SPIE rig escape from the gulag, or the way Soap killed Shepherd. WAW had plenty as well, like running out of ammo at the worst possible time in Black Cats and being saved in the nick of time, or when Reznov hacked up the SS trooper and had Dimitri raise the flag with a bullet in his face. Hollywood moments. Not only were you and I not talking about the same game, you're talking about the day-in-the-life problems that affect pretty much every game.
  20. Do what now? I really don't get it. How are they risking anything by not announcing the zombie mode? I think Treyarch's biggest gaffe isn't that there's no promo, it's that one of the studio heads hasn't said something along the lines of "Yes, there's gonna be zombies, no we're not gonna talk about the zombies until the game is out." But these hardcore zombie gamers? Announcement or not, they WILL pick it up if it has zombies in it. All it takes is someone on launch day (or more likely about a week before) to post "Got the game, here's a video of some zombies" and there's always a shitload of someones.
  21. I take it you're an online gamer. Most singleplayers don't care about your filthy little laundry list (though even I can agree about ded. servers). The biggest complaint singleplayer gets (aside from it's Hollywood moments, which ain't even a real complaint, that's just the weak getting burned by how awesome it is) is how short it is, and it's STILL longer than half the games that came before it. If it's a singleplayer FPS in a linear setpiece unlike Fallout 3, don't bitch when the credits roll within a day or two.
  22. I'd say it was just a coincidence, but when you have codes written on the side of pencils and Black Suns on the pyramid icons on dollar bills like the CIA Diary bookmark...there ain't no such thing as coincidence. You did good, kid, real good. Keep it up.
  23. -Eminem in the trailer. -Afghanistan (though not enough levels set there) -Soap had the exact same mohawk as me. -And Captain Price looked even more like my dad in this game. -The way Roach kept falling off of stuff. -No Russian. In an era where no one wants to handle Six Days in Fallujah it's good to see some people still have testicles in their trousers. -The firefights in the favela levels. -Ghost's mask. -Soap's epic tackle. -The Russian invasion. -The scene at the aid station reminded me of Cloverfield, only without the bite victims. -Ramirez! Do everything! -Sentry guns (but they felt kinda under-utilized.) -Predator drones. -The oil rig level reminded me of the oil rig level from the original Rainbow Six. -Reading Makarov's newspaper clippings. -Captain Price blowing up the ISS. -"Hey is your red dot sight working? No? Mine neither. Weird." Now that was a nice touch. -US soldiers as the bad guys like in Half-Life. -Soap killing Shepherd with the knife he pulled out of his chest. -Modern Warfare: Mobilized actually had kind of a story to it. Still, Black Ops for the DS should stick to the main game's story a bit more, rather than go off on a tangent like this one. -The Ghost comic. -Night Vision Goggles. Didn't like: -Eh, the museum level was all right, I mean it had EVERYTHING, but CoD4 had Griggs' rap and a real bonus level. -GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony had a better AA-12, with a drum mag full of Frag-12 rounds. -People complaining about how short the game was. They act like they've never played Call of Duty before.
  24. I've been in more places helping out then just here and there. Seems Carbon got some "special" docs that the others didn't get. You guys should look deeper at those ones "Beware of the Black Sun" those laboratories weren't for what you think they would be for  Are you sure? Cuz all these documents look familiar. Or are you talking about the briefcase carbon got from UBoat?
  25. I personally think you are with a Doctor. Doctor Cameron in specific. Who's Doctor Cameron?
