  1. Ladies and gentlemen may I introduce BlackOpsTiger from the Black Ops 24/7 forum. He was one of the guys discussing these documents there when Neejoh received the exact same package.
  2. Okay, we have a rough idea at best how it's all gonna play out. All the screenshots, previews and trailers have indicated that we play as CIA operatives throughout most of the game, be it MACV SOG in Nam, Operation 40 in Cuba, or the guys in the Ural Mountains operation. There's also a level in Iran where you play as the SAS. One question: Do you think we'll play as the Russians at all in this game? It's pretty much 50/50 as they haven't said anything about it yet. You didn't play as them at all in the Modern Warfare games, but almost all the WW2 games had a Russian campaign. Seeing as Treyarch has a Spetsnaz adviser, I'm inclined to think Black Ops might have a Russian campaign, or at least a level or two.
  3. Why would it be a bad idea? I think that it worked to set the tone of the game. No Russian was a great launch point for the narrative. ***Please no flame on this just thoughts on why one way or the other. Lets keep an open mind and they are only opinions so share them.*** Why would it be a bad idea? Pacing. Not saying that they need to tone anything down, but they should save the next mass slaughter for, well, any other game but the one directly after the game with No Russian. Just because you're in Vietnam in a few levels doesn't mean they need a My Lai Massacre level, but that's not to say you can't waste a few civilians. I just think that maybe, just maybe, if they can go for a whole game without having you wade through a field of dead innocents stacked knee-high, nobody important will care about the level of violence. Because we don't need another Jack Thompson getting a hardon every time a new shooter comes out. At the end of the day though, Treyarch is gonna do whatever they want, and I'm behind it 100%.
  4. I wasn't disappointed by MW2. I didn't expect a long campaign, you know, seeing as how they said they wouldn't make one anyway, but it also felt less imbalanced - all three acts were about the same length, whereas the first MW was one long first act and two half-sized acts. On top of that, I wasn't gonna do, well, pretty much anything online, so I didn't so much care about the lack of dedicated servers as I would have otherwise. Way I see it, MW2 delivered a solid experience, excellent story, great characters, badass weapons and cool scenes. My only gripe was that all those Taliban, favela militia, Ultranationalists and Shadow Company troopers I killed didn't come back out of the ground looking for revenge. And even then, given the nature of these dev cycles, I don't blame them...I mean, I don't judge WAW for sticking to WW2.
  5. Eh, I'd rather wait myself. By all means post it and all, but when I play it, I'm gonna want to do several things: open the box, dick around with the RC car for a minute, inhale that new software smell, pop it in, take a few bong hits, play all slow and methodical (unless it's one of them things where you gotta run before the bomb goes off or something), pay attention to things like scripted events, not interrupt cutscenes, only use weapons I'm either issued or ordered to use, and basically just play it like I'm playing it for the first time, because...well...I will be. Unless I do that I will have missed out on the full effect of this game.
  6. Gas pencil. You probably use that to assassinate someone important. ... Oh S#!T! I don't think anyone made the connection between the mention of the gas pencil in the live drop documents and the pencil that was actually IN the case! Somebody needs to warn carbon. NOW! He could have a live bomb on his hands and not even know it!
  7. I think we're all a little confused. Last I looked I don't think even carbonfibah knew whether Henry Langham was fake or not, and he's the one guy who should be in the loop more'n anyone. I wonder if Treyarch has backup plans in case of fakes and people not being able to figure out their clues. Wherever GKNova6 leads, I hope it's as cool as I Love Bees was back in the day.
  8. Yeah, this ain't the first time someone's mistook the US on the canteens for 115. It happens, but hey, you see 115 scrawled pretty much everywhere else so it's not really important unless either A) you learn something or it's a clue to something to do with this GKNova6 game.
  9. Yellow - some kind of horn? No. I may have dropped out of high school six years ago, but I clearly remember Mr. Pucciarelli drawing the exact same thing one day in science class and calling it a wormhole. Seeing as there are teleporters all around, I'd say it's pretty likely. Heh heh. Poop.
  10. You know, I was just about to mention the embassy level. But yeah, the guy with Price's hat in the screenshot is a US Marine radio operator. It wouldn't be the first time Treyarch used IW characters. They brought back Major Ingram more than once.
  11. Well maybe I'm the only one without an excuse to not find the crossbow, but there's no excuse for not playing all the games, buying the comic, and getting whatever else they come out with. Unless you don't have a DS anyway...but I got it simply because there were already three CoD games for it with a fourth on the way. You know they said Black Ops would be their biggest launch. I assume that means they intend to release a bunch of other stuff. WaW had the main game, the zombie level downloads, the PS2 game and the DS game. How do you think they're gonna top all that? But back to the crossbow - one thing it doesn't do is time delay so you can't stick an Afghan and watch him run back to his militant buddies before he detonates like a reverse suicide bomb. But Mobilized still gets all the points in my book, the same points I gave Black Ops when I first saw the trailer.
  12. Look it up on CoD wiki. In the meantime, I think Peter was that hanging dude in Shi No Numa. I think they sent him some radio transmission from Wittenau Asylum. Hope that helps.
  13. We've SEEN the explosive-tipped crossbow before. In Modern Warfare: Mobilized. It's an enemy weapon in a level in what looks like Afghanistan. Seriously am I the first guy to notice this?
  14. Well, this is just great. I went and downloaded the Map Pack Bundle. It said it had all three zombie levels. So where are my zombie levels? Main menu. Co-op. Split-screen. Game Mode: Nazi Zombies. At this point, and forgive me for all-capping, but SHOULDN'T THERE BE FOUR LEVELS? NOT JUST THE FIRST ONE? Seriously, what the fuck? I pay electronic money with a plastic card that entitles me to own a fluctuating number of worthless banknotes I work my ass off washing dishes for and the damn thing doesn't even give me what I already paid for? I know, I know, I'll stop. I'll try and figure this crap out and I probably will by the time anyone gets back to me but in the meantime any help would be appreciated.
  15. Dude, I don't know wether you played it or not, but back in the day there was a level in Medal of Honor: Underground that took place in Wewelsburg. The OSS sent in a Maquis fighter (Manon aka you) to investigate the place and steal some documents from Himmler's office while he was away. Inside the castle, I shit you not, was a group of guys wearing suits of knights armor, and get this, it gets even better...you know how in Black Ops you get a crossbow? Well that's something Medal of Honor did first...it didn't shoot explosive-tipped bolts, but it was still good at killing those knights. It was a prototype military crossbow called "Big Joe." If you have a playstation, and you're not an idiot who thinks between CoD and MoH that one's superior to the other, then go check it out. I played the Wewelsburg levels drunk/high as shit once with an Eminem CD turned up in the background.
  16. Probably Modern Warfare. I dunno. I don't really have a favorite game because they're all epic in their own way, but I was playing the game high as a kite when the nuke went off and killed me for the first time. Even the No Russian level couldn't top that. So yeah, I guess it's a tossup between Modern Warfare, Nazi Zombies, and GKNova6.
  17. Because I'm not on XBL at the moment. I only use the service to download content anyway. It probably would be easier when I'm on my own, but I'd rather, if I got stuck with a Leeroy Jenkins or a "get me some motherf*ckin' chocolate milk" kind of player, to be able to bitchslap him upside the face with the controller. Even better, I'd like my co-op partners to just be AI NPCs but WAW just doesn't support that for some reason. IMO all co-op games should have that option. It's not that I'm some friendless anti-social shut-in but none of my friends have half as many games and gaming experience as I do. Except Zeke. But he don't even have a 360.
  18. All right, well, it's been a while, but I'm back. Work, car maintenance, taking care of this family of stray cats that decided to just show up one day, drugs and alcohol, reasons, excuses, etc. So it turned out I was in the lobby the whole time. All I had to do was confirm ready with the other controller. Don't know why I didn't catch such a stupid mistake the first time but there it is. Played through the first level. Seems all right, I just wish the co-op campaign was more original than playing as two guys named Miller. Otherwise it was pretty good.
  19. Aight, thanks guys. I'll try this tomorrow assuming I'm not too busy, see if it works, and get back to you. I'd do it right now but unfortunately I'm losing consciousness from lack of sleep, plus in the meantime I've started playing Final Fronts and wanna get that out of the way. I've been playing the whole Call of Duty series marathon style, Treyarch games, expansion packs, portables and all. Been gearin' up for Black Ops. Just kinda hung up at the moment is all. Good night.
  20. Yeah but that's just it, I DON'T want to play online, I just want to play split-screen co-op. I have more than one controller and I have more than one profile on my hard drive. That SHOULD be enough. But since I have to go through this lobby, how do I get to the lobby? Surely if it's where you're directed before you play the game it wouldn't give me an error message that says I need 2 players signed in, it would take me to the actual lobby where I CAN sign in. Thanks for the advice but I still just don't get it.
  21. All right, look. I got a stack of games taller than myself. I have every Call of Duty game except for United Offensive (but only because it's for the PC and my PC is crap,) WAW DS and MW2 DS. I might pre-order Black Ops just to get the poster if it's still available. I'm a dedicated fan but just simply have not got into multiplayer. But look, going around playing deathmatch, pwning my friends is one thing. It's cool but I can live without it. One thing I can not stand for though is letting a good story campaign go to waste and the co-op mode has just been sitting there. Back in the day, Half-Life Decay got co-op absolutely right. If you didn't have two players, you could just switch character, and the other protagonist would stay where she was and hold her ground. Unfortunately some game developers seem to have forgotten certain basics, like a co-op campaign that can be played solo without hurting the experience (hell, making it better, what with the absence of someone who talks a lot so you can't hear the characters) and require the games to be played at least in split-screen mode. Oh well, no biggie, I can switch controllers. That ain't the problem. I'll tell you what the problem is. I got WAW. I got Final Fronts for the PS2 and am getting WAW DS in the next week or so. But I want to get into Nazi Zombies. And seeing as this is THE Call of Duty Zombie forum, I figure this should be the best place to ask. Now, I'm gonna go hook up to the internet and download Verruckt, Shi No Numa and Der Reise and play them and all that. But first I wanted to play some of the regular campaign in co-op mode, just to get a feel for how everything works. I got a regular controller and a wireless. I signed in, hit play, got to main menu, went to co-op, default settings, first level, want to jump straight in to the action and I get this error. "At least two players must be signed in at the lobby." Okay, I have two gamertags or whatever the crap those stupid little cartoon characters are called, ChrisMathers and Chris3501. I think I'm only able to have one of those signed in at a time, or if I sign into the other one, it automatically signs the other one out or something. I don't know. I don't even know where the hell the lobby is. Is it the 360 dashboard they're talking about? Or something else? My question is this: Where do I find this "lobby" the error message speaks of?
  22. Hmm...Chernobyl... Wonder if we'll run into a two-armed Zakhaev anytime soon.
  23. Mason is one of the characters in Black Ops Yep, that's the guy I was talkin' about.
  24. Okay, it took me a while to read all 8 pages but I think I'm pretty much up to speed. I'd introduce myself and all but I think at this point the best thing would be for me to just jump right in and add my 2 cents. I wanted a Vietnam game as much as anybody but when they said it was a Cold War game, my interest really spiked because despite all them Tom Clancy games I played, I don't remember a one of them taking place anywhere but the present/near future. When I read through the documents, what really jumped out was that despite the fact that I don't wear a tinfoil hat because I'm afraid of the government and their UFOs, I recognized every project they talked about. UFOs. Okay, that's neither here nor there because for one everyone's heard of if not seen UFOs, and two if they're really from outer space (which in at least half the cases I believe they are) then they're not created/controlled by the government and there's really little else to say. Secret societies. They mentioned Freemasons. Acesquadronamps was an anagram for "square and compass," Masonic symbols. One of the passwords was Mason. I wonder if it all has anything to do with Mason the tunnel rat. Also think they might have mentioned Illuminati. Nazi scientists. After the war, lots of high-profile Nazis escaped justice. That whole ODESSA thing. While some were found by international police agencies, arrested and tried, others, the scientists in particular, were deemed useful and recruited by the CIA to continue their work toward different purposes. As much talk as there is about the return of zombie mode, I think that, aside from Reznov, they should bring back Richtofen as well. I'll bet he works for (or even runs) GK. The gases. They talked about nerve gases, including a new experimental gas which might be what Nova is. Also talked about delivery systems for said gas. They also mentioned, beyond direct use of the gas as a weapon... Hypnotism. All I know about MKULTRA was that it was a CIA mind control experiment - I've learned much more about it in the last few days of lookin' at stuff than I knew before, but they talked more about hypnotism than any other subject. Seems to have a lot to do with the teaser trailer. That's cool and all but I want a level where you're an LSD test subject and you have to go into quicktime events to make people stop looking like monsters. JFK assassination. Maybe Oswald was hypnotized. But by who? Well, that's all I have to say. I'm sorry I couldn't be of any help but I'm no good at these ARGs. I just like speculating. I'm glad I found this place - I'm real big on CoD and MoH. I was even in the middle of writing an article for joshpeckler at planetcod when a virus killed everything on my last computer - it was so bad I had to reformat and everything.
