Oh yeah. And another thing - if he has nothing to do with the campaign, why the cloud of numbers?

Two things. 1 - When have we EVER seen a sane Richtofen? And 2 - Takeo would never run away. That would not be honorable. But they said there were only three lunar landers on this map that you could escape on, so who knows where he is? The BIG portrait in Kino is a sane Richtofen (as we know from the character quotes, calling it a younger Richtofen). Younger = previous time previous time = before before insanity = sane... No offense, but not only are you wrong, but the joke seems to have gone totally over your head. Okay, see, ALL the pictures in Kino are older versions of themselves. Not older pictures, pictures of their older selves. They've all aged, you can see it clearly. And when Nikolai says "Richtofen looks a bit younger in this picture," he's being sarcastic and implying that Richtofen looks like an old man. You know, given that the portraits look about 30 years older, and the map itself takes place in 1975, one can infer that the characters made it back to their own time, otherwise their wouldn't BE any portraits of them...unless the portraits themselves, like all the Cold War era guns, were sent back from the future, but I think the former is more likely. Conceivably one could imagine the possibility that you could run into your older selves. Hmmm...MAYBE, and this is just a wild guess, totally not certain at all, but MAYBE once Tank, Takeo, Nikolai and Doc make it back to their own time, they go into the movie business, plan on filming a WW2 movie, set up all the actors with Nazi uniforms, get their pictures taken, set everything up as best as they remember it, then sit back and wait for the outbreak and their younger selves to port in and kill all the zombies. That would mean they're trying to protect the space-time continuum instead of disrupt it for their own ends.

NO THEY DIDN'T LOL A small minority of stupid people thought it would be the Cosmic Silver Back. The rest of us had more sense than that. More like a small minority of people researched it and couldn't come up with any better ideas, linked what was most likely based on everything previously seen, and another small minority was all "Oh hell no, that's stupid, it makes no sense, even though you are playing as a bunch of guys from 1945 who hate each other, teleported into a theater in 1975, and get attacked by Nazi zombies, or maybe they're just extras in a movie dressed up as Nazis and you get rayguns and wunderwaffen and thunder cannons and that Winter's Howl gun, evil magic hauntings happen in the form of Samantha, you get root beer that makes you able to shoot faster, crawlers, hellhounds and a bunch of other cool shit, but an oversized space monkey 'MAKES NO SENSE?!?'" I'm so facepalmed mah god damn head asplode. All right, Mr. Party-of-No, yer so smart YOU tell me what it is.

I'm almost 100% certain it's a new drink. It's a play on Doctor Pepper. Good theory though. Didn't they say there were some other new perks that they haven't named yet though?

Maybe you only get a hammer if you PaP the sickle.

I read the thread title and I was expecting to see the first post be: "The Roof The Roof The Roof is on fire." And then the next guy says "The Roof The Roof The Roof is on fire." Then somebody ELSE says "The Roof The Roof The Roof is on fire." Then someone says "We don't need no water, let the motherf**ker burn." And then I come in and say "Burn, motherf**ker. Burn." That would have totally been a spontaneous and epic moment in the untold history of internet lolz.

Does the song "115" mean anything in Kino Der Toten?
ChrisMathers replied to Riker221's topic in Kino Der Toten
You know, The One was from a zombie's perspective. Beauty of Annihilation was from the survivors' perspective. But I thought 115, or at least certain parts of it, were from the perspective of one of the Nazi scientists, possibly Maxis. I could just picture him standing in a control room overlooking his test subjects as they die a slow and horrible death, looking at his clipboard, saying "Hm. Everyone tries to hold onto their life," then he turns to Richtofen and says "When everyone dies, bring me 115." And Richtofen's all "Yes, Doctor." But then other parts of the song don't make sense any more. -
Something I Just Realized About The Ascension Trailer Haha!
ChrisMathers replied to open zee door's topic in Ascension
Doesn't matter if I get one hour of sleep or eight. I KNOW FOR A FACT that by the time I click to watch trailer there's already going to be like a whole wall of text of people talking about it because I saw it just one hour later. I know one thing for sure - whoever is the first to post the link to it is going to be piled over with more brains than he can eat in a day. -
Anti Earth, I don't mean to be a dick. In fact I agree with you 100%. I am positive it's Clarke. But lighten up a little - a lot of the doubters are presenting legitimate points. Not that they aren't easily refuted but they're legit nonetheless. If anything, showing the two skins only reinforced that it's the same guy for me. You guys have said things like "only plastic surgery would make him look like that." Well, we ARE talking about someone hiding from the Americans and the Russians and who has enough access to money to stock up on enough guns for an apocalypse and a half, so does getting some plastic surgery REALLY seem like a stretch? If I had just gotten shot in the head and lived, and was being hunted by the governments of TWO world superpowers (three if China cares that this is all happening in their backyard) I think plastic surgery to make myself look different would take secondary priority only to getting reconstructive surgery to fix the hole in my head. Also, about his features being the result of injuries, consider the fact that after Clarke was shot, he DID fall a long way to the ground and bounced off of a few neon signs along the way. And yes, I DID notice the differences, don't get me wrong. But don't Kennedy, Castro and McNamara ALSO look different than they do in the campaign? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they even have different voice actors for zombie mode for some reason. So for me, little differences like that are like pffft, big deal. You know it's Kennedy, Nixon, McNamara and Castro because that's what the game tells you. And despite their templates you know Tank, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen are who they are because the game tells you who they are. The game does not tell you who the Pentagon Thief is, but the fact that Clarke is the only one who looks like him leads me to no other conclusion. Unless it's Clarke's brother from Johannesburg. Aw, goddammit. Just had to open the can labeled "may contain worms" didn't I?

I don't know. Maybe like Zork it's an arcade game that CIA agents can play when they're not strapped down to the torture chair.
-
You know, I never thought of that. I mean, yeah, Nikolai is Russian, but that doesn't mean he'd be important just because you're in a Soviet facility. But then I remembered - Nikolai wasn't always a drunk soldier...he's a former politician. For all we know, he may be part of the reason there are zombies. Like Richtofen with his scientific tinkering, Nikolai could have signed some legislation or appropriated some funding or whatever that caused something bad to happen, and THAT would be the excuse Stalin would use to send him to the front.

If we were to go by the convoluted Zombies timeline and integrate it, I think it'd go something like this. -Nacht Der Untoten training level - Richtofen, back from the future, turns into a zombie and tries to kill some guy who kills him first. -Nacht Der Untoten - Dempsey's team finds themselves in the airfield building. -Verruckt - September 1945 - Dempsey's team (except Dempsey) all gets killed in the asylum searching for Peter. -Shi No Numa - Dempsey meets Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen somwhere in Japan and they have to fight together to hold off the Japanese zombies. -Der Reise - Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen somehow get teleported to Der Reise. -Project Nova - December 1945 - While searching a Nazi ship, Reznov and Dimitri are betrayed by Dragovich and Kravchenko and thrown in Steiner's gas chambers. Reznov escapes but Dimitri dies from the gas. -Operation 40 - 1961 - Mason, Woods, Bowman and Carlos set out to kill Castro but Mason only succeeds in killing a double and getting captured and turned over to Dragovich. -Five - October 1962 - During a meeting with Castro at the Pentagon to resolve the missile crisis, zombies attack and Castro, Kennedy, Nixon and McNamara have to kill them. Doctor Clarke comes back from the future and, pissed off about being killed in China in 1968 and somehow reanimated, tries to steal everyone's weapons. -Vorkuta - October 1963 - After Reznov hijacks Dragovich's brainwashing of Mason, he helps Mason escape but stays behind. -USDD - Mason and Hudson are summoned to the Pentagon by McNamara so Mason can have a face-to-face with Kennedy and receive his orders to kill Dragovich. The Pentagon seems to have been cleaned up quite nicely since the zombie attack. -Kennedy gets assassinated before Mason can carry out his orders. He may have even been killed BY Mason. -Executive Order - Mason, Woods, Bowman and Brooks go to the Baikonur Cosmodrome to kill Dragovich, the Ascension scientists, and cripple the Soviet space program, but Dragovich and Kravchenko escape. Even if Mason did kill Kennedy, he still tried (and later succeeded) to carry out his final orders - after all, Kennedy told him to do the same thing Reznov's brainwashing told him to do. -1968 - Five years after Baikonur, Mason's in Vietnam schitzing out thinking he's seeing Reznov everywhere. He can see him everywhere he goes. Meanwhile Hudson and his team are kicking ass behind the scenes in China and Russia. Eventually Woods kills Kravchenko, Mason goes missing and kills Steiner thinking Reznov pulled the trigger and the CIA hauls him back to Langley where he has a total head trip and remembers everything. They then go blow up the Rusalka numbers station. Mason kills Dragovich in the process. -Berlin, 1975 - Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen appear in a theater in Berlin and are again attacked by Nazi zombies. Although since it's a theater in 1975 the "Nazi" zombies could just be zombified extras wearing prop uniforms. -1978. Operation Charybdis. The USSR and the West both seem to want Mason, Woods and Weaver dead. It turns out Reznov, Woods, and Weaver's niece are still alive. Unfortunately Weaver's niece is a Soviet spy. They also have to watch their backs because Jonathan REDACTED (*cough*Price*cough*) is after them. You will notice I deliberately left out the Black Ops versions of Nacht Der Untoten and Verruckt. The reason is, I don't quite know where to put them. But I'm pretty sure about everything else.

You're wrong. Five IS part of the story. It's just that nobody's bothered to go through it with a fine-tooth comb. Everyone's found a TON of stuff in Der Reise, went digging for film reels in Kino, and yet nobody seems to care to explore Five for some reason. I've hardly seen ANY Five easter eggs get found let alone talked about. And it's an aweome level. Tank, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen were cool because they were over-the-top badass stereotypical action heroes. Well, so are the players from Five - they are Kennedy, McNamara, Castro and Nixon after all. This map gave us Richard motherf**ing Nixon gunning down hordes of zombies and calling them hippies, Castro smoking his cigar, growing his beard, wearing his hat and generally being Castro, McNamara being a nerd and saying intelligent stuff while he lets rip on the undead with an SMG and Kennedy whining like a child when he doesn't have enough "beans for the chowdah." You know, I once heard they were going to make a movie about President Lincoln fighting zombies. I don't know if it's out yet or not, but I know I'm totally gonna watch it as soon as possible.

Hey man, don't take his brains away. It's his first post. There, I added them back. Yeah, I'm sorry, this is old news to us. Welcome aboard for what it's worth.

holy fuck! assension shown in gknova6 zombie debut!
ChrisMathers replied to mbt9000's topic in Ascension
Dude, it's fake. I'm not even going to watch it. You know why? That GK Resistance logo in your avatar. All you Henryheads do is fuck with us. Stop it. Delete your account and leave. -
Oh my God, dude, don't be an idiot. IGN sucks to be sure. Their review of Medal of Honor 2010 made me want to punch a baby. I mean, what kind of an arrogant ass gives such a shitty review to a game that A) stands on a legacy of badass WW2 shooters, pays tribute to our soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan and C) is as groin-grabbingly awesome as Modern Warfare 2, but for the complete opposite reason - MW2 was all Hollywood with its snowmobile chases and Red Dawn scenes, MoH '10 was realistic how you were in one battle, one country the whole time and weren't setting off nukes left and right. Now they might do and say some stupid shit but those are only the opinions that, even though they shouldn't be, they ARE entitled to. But IGN is still a legitimate news source and I can't list a single example where they led me to believe false information. It would destroy their credibility. How stupid do you think they are? If you're not going to think something through before you hit the FAKE ALARM, at least wait for JD to come out and say it, and don't even TRY to read between his lines. When he lets you know something's fake, he lets you know something's fake. It's probably the one thing he's not subliminal about. Like when he outed Henry Langham.

Ugh. Hello, magt. Make yourself at home, have a beer, follow the rules so you don't get banned, have a great time and all that. But seriously, I have to ask...Why do you feel the need to make a new thread just because you're new here? I don't mean to be mean or anything, but it seems like all I've been doing these last few days is welcoming newbies who feel the need to make a "Hi my name is Joe, I'm new and I don't have any questions or anything important to say" thread.

Aw, dude! I just thought of something. You know, I was pretty sure Clarke was the Thief, but I just thought of something that convinced me even more. The Pentagon Thief had a thing for going around and stealing weapons. Doctor Clarke had a thing for hoarding whole caches of weapons. Really he only needed half of one of his caches and could collect more off the bodies, but he just kept on collecting weapons. He even had an audio cassette that when put into a player at a different location would play the sound from the GKNova6 website and spit out a Thundergun. And also think about it - Clarke's whole story was one of revenge through indirect means. -First he gets treated like shit for his Communist ideals so he decides to work for the Soviets by stabilizing Steiner's gas weapon for them. -Then the Soviets try to kill him so he wires his lab to explode and kill them remotely. -Then a pair of CIA agents torture him and get him killed in the extraction attempt. So, pissed off at both the Communists and Capitalists, he comes back to life somehow, goes back in time, and literally steals their leaders' weapons, leaving them at the mercy of a horde of zombies. Okay, that last one was me saying what I THINK happened. And I know I'm just guessing here. But if that is what happened, let me try to get inside Clarke's head a moment here, figure out his thought processes, his endgame. Okay, so, whatever happens to President Kennedy, if Castro were to get killed on US soil, the Communists would more than likely take it as an act of war. Maybe Clarke WANTS World War Three to happen. Think about it - who, more than him, would want to see a full-scale nuclear war with neither side having an unfair advantage? Who else has good enough reason to hate the whole world? You know what? I'm just gonna say it's Clarke. I am 100% positive. I would totally put money on it. I've been wrong before, but I'm certain of this.

But Chinese govern could know about this operation, infact both China and Russia were communist. Or Treyarch is too lazy to add scared people. Wait, what? Yeah, no, they DID add scared people. I'm just saying, you'd think at least a cop or two would respond is all.

Obvious Ascension Hints that We Didnt Notice
ChrisMathers replied to METALLICA175's topic in Ascension
I dunno, I just figured there's differences across all the different consoles, and maybe the special edition had some minor in-game differences too besides just the code for the free zombie maps. -
I want, like, some kind of thing, similar to the Pack-a-Punch, where you can modify your weapon - a workbench where you can put on different attachments - dual clip, extended clip, drum clip, different kinds of sights and scopes, shotgun attachment, grenade launcher attachment, flamethrower attachment etc. It's probably be too much micromanagement in too hectic an environment though but my point still stands - something similar at least.
-
Well, if Ludvig went missing instead of Samantha, Richtofen probably would have said "Where did that arrogant ass disappear to?" And he doesn't know where she is because he locked her in a room but obviously she didn't STAY in the room.

My info on Ascension from playing the map
ChrisMathers replied to iseeuat100yds's topic in Ascension
The surprise attack commercial or whatever it was, right? Where the guy was sneaking up and pwning people with the new gadgets and tricks? Cuz I could see Treyarch maybe needing guys for that. But still you'd think they'd do something like that on their own. Not that I'm doubting you or anything. I mean there WERE a few leaks in development that could easily arise from something like this - somehow people knew all about Dead Ops and the Cosmic Silverback even though Treyarch never said nothin' official. -
Don't forget about the level where you're in Kowloon. That was, I think, the one and only time you were on Chinese soil in a Call of Duty game. You'd think it's strange that the Chinese government wouldn't step in and do...SOMETHING as an entire platoon of Spetsnaz tries to chase down and kill some dudes across the skyscraper rooftops. I mean, some civilians DID run out of the way, cower in fear, and think that the Triads had come to kill them, but it wouldn't take long for them to figure out that none of the corpses are unarmed or even Chinese.
