  1. Yes, but that's the thing. We don't know what happens to Reznov after that scene ends. We're left with our imaginations to perceive what happened to him. The COD Wikia said at one point that Reznov's truck rolls over near the end, though I've not seen that myself (I think it can only be done on the PC version, where you can put in a no-clip code or something). They say that the fact that his truck rolls over confirms his death, but I fail to see how a mere truck crash would kill a guy like Reznov.
  2. I believe we've noticed the list of secret societies even before the game was released, unless you guys paid no attention to the leaked footage (kudos to you all who had innocent eyes then). I think the purpose of that list was just to serve as a reference to the CIA's documentation of all sorts of things that went on at the time. The assassination of Malcolm X may have been documented by the CIA for whatever reason, perhaps because the CIA deemed individuals like him (civil rights activists) as some sort of interior threat, especially if they had allegiances with Communist groups (I know MLK did, but I forget if Malcolm X did). It's all interesting, but I think that for the most part it's meant to be a tease.
  3. I'm fairly certain he was hallucinating Reznov the whole time. Nobody else but Mason could see him; the Campaign just presented this in a way that makes it seem like Reznov was a part of your squad, though there are very subtle hints you have to see for yourself (even if you have to play it again and again) to know that they don't even acknowledge Reznov's existence. But considering that MKULTRA and other similar mind-control programs play a huge role in the backstory (as hinted by the viral documents earlier this year), maybe there were other things Mason was hallucinating. Your hearing of the numbers during that scene (as there are sounds of them in other scenes in the Campaign as well) is perceptive, but it's hard to tell if they have any relevance during certain scenes, such as the one you mentioned where before you take the Hind.
  4. Maybe Reznov is still alive....but it's sure hard to know for certain. At the end of Vorkuta, he got pretty well surrounded; I think there was even a helicopter pursuing him along with the trucks...and I'd think they would shoot him on sight, too, not just escort him back into his cell. @gordogg24p Morgan Freeman in a COD game would be truly epic.
  5. If they make DLC for Campaign, it ought to encompass the whole "Operation Charybdis" assignment that the final intel in COD:BO references. Better yet, given some of the involvements and whatever else in Operation Charybdis, maybe it's better off that it serves as a sequel to Black Ops....and thus have Campaign DLC involve the memories of other characters or something, like what was seemingly hinted in that final episode on GTTV on Halloween day. Operation Charybdis is set to take place in 1978. It's a joint effort, between the CIA's SAD & UK's MI6, to "remove" Alex Mason, Jason Hudson, and Grigori Weaver. Ryan Jackson proposed Richard Kain (?) of this "burn notice" (the aforementioned operation) because the three targets have been deemed as "threats to national security", especially Mason, due to his mental instability. Though supposedly Mr. Kain doesn't like this idea. But I've not had any time to dabble in the CIA Data System like most of you must have, so I think you guys know more about this than I do. There are at least two new characters. One of them is Jonathan, whom we all know already. But there is another, a woman.....her name is Kristina. Allegedly the niece of Grigori Weaver, she is a double-agent, working for both the CIA and the GRU. Personally I think it would be interesting to see a female combatant in a COD game. What if you could play as her? Alright so, now that I mentioned all this....I guess I have a sort of "change of heart" here. As much as I would love DLC for Campaign, I think that anything pertaining to Operation Charybdis should serve as a fundamental element in the storyline for a possible Black Ops sequel, but only because I feel that Operation Charybdis has a lot of potential that may not all fit into Campaign DLC. But of course, if my suggestion were to be legit, then that means we have to wait for another year or two (or three?) for Black Ops' sequel...
  6. 1.) YES. I think IW should've done this for MW2, and for a while I thought Treyarch should've done this for COD:BO. But game companies usually don't bother with multi-disc games, mostly because it results in a more expensive product. But there could be other factors as well, such as how Xbox 360 formats may have to be multi-disc whereas PS3's BD-ROM could possibly fit it all, like what Square Enix was able to do with Final Fantasy XIII. I guess this whole issue is far more complicated than it sounds.....but I'm trying to say that having a game be available as multi-disc has its benefits, like if one disc were Campaign and the other were Multiplayer. 2.) Er, I think Treyarch should do the right thing and make their COD games like they did with Black Ops, using a full studio and whatever else....perhaps more than what they already used, but that's a given. 3.) This is a tough call. There should be small maps and large maps, and possibly some maps that are medium-sized. If they make large maps they shouldn't have to make them so epically gigantic.....but on the other hand, I guess I reserve an "I don't care" attitude concerning how big they make maps, though I would like some small maps from time to time (not as small as Nuketown, but still). 4.) Mmmm, maybe. 5.) I think they should. They started a good thing with COD:BO by implementing various customization capabilities. It's not often that you get MP games like COD that offer some form of in-depth customization. If Treyarch makes another COD game, they need to include more customization in the future.....personally I'd like to have the ability to put my face on my character (by taking a picture with my PS3 Eye and uploading it, etc).
  7. Good job collecting all the intel, and good work linking them individually. I could have but I felt too lazy at the time. Thanks for the brains on my topic. Brains in return & for your effort. [brains] Anyway, getting back to the topic at hand......my personal favorite intel pieces are WMD and Redemption. WMD details a small history (whatever they could find of it, that is) of this "GKM" group. I've been fixated with the whole "GK" thing for months on end, and it's cool to see a slight similarity in the game. For a while, prior to release, we began thinking that "GK" stood for "General Kravchenko", instead of "German Knowledge" or "Geistes Kontrolle". Instead its abbreviation is definitely more subtle in reference, sounding definitely more like a typical corporate name, "Gorki-Korolev", with "Medical" thrown in at the end to denote its industry. So....GKM is based in Prague. Prague, as we all know, is the capital of the Czech Republic (back in COD:BO's time the name would be "Czechoslovakia"). Now that this is known, I can't help but wonder how a corporation could exist in a communist country, unless perhaps they kept a low profile or were strictly government-tied (Soviet? Who knows)....but then again they have ties to American corporations, two of which are mentioned and were raided as described. The mention of Kravchenko's cousin being involved in a "massacre at Der Riese" is almost enough to make anyone here assume the Campaign is indeed tied to Zombies in some way.....unless they're forgetting about this one. Redemption's intel is definitely unsettling, though, and it reminds me of that final episode on GTTV on October 31st, how they said that there could be possibilities for DLC related to the Campaign. Until then, if we don't get DLC for Campaign, the intel definitely screams "sequel" on the right side of the image. Shame we can't see Jonathan's last name; a lot of people are saying it's Price, which sounds absurd at first because Captain Price is property of Infinity Ward.....but who knows?
  8. A couple nights ago I managed to collect all the intel in COD:BO and I used my Handycam to capture a video of the documents. Click here if you wish to view them. I think it is in the WMD intel that specifies information concerning one "GKM", a private company that caught my interest, which to me has something to do with the unsolved backstory to the game. "GKM" reminds me of the whole "GKNOVA6" thing. I apologize if the video quality is crappy, seeing as I could only capture it all from a digital videocamera and not via a PVR; I should get a PVR sometime, especially since COD:BO MP's Theater mode isn't all it's cracked up to be. Either way, I hope you enjoy it. EDIT/UPDATE (12/1/2010; 2:57PM CST) Effective as of last night, I compiled the images of all the intel, available for your digesting pleasure. However, I want to warn you that the original file size is gigantic; it's 1920x15120, and the size is over 6MB. The image is a compilation of all of Duncam Yum's screencaps, each one individually available on the COD Wikia. Click here to view the original file size.
  9. Ten days left until whatever happens. Some of you said that Sony is planning something big on this day. As a PS3 player, I'm looking forward to it....though I can't help but doubt it's COD:BO-related... Well, didn't you guys kind of do the same thing when trying to figure out GKNOVA6.com earlier this year? I mean, I can see how it's considered questionable for exposing a website's coding like that, but I think what's even more serious is manipulating the code, like if you're someone who gained access to the system and decided to tinker with it.....though I'm not saying any of you guys here are that conniving. EDIT/UPDATE Whoa.....now I'm hearing background music on this website. I've never heard this before. :?
  10. Bumping; I went beyond my redemption here. 8-) 19 rounds. 61730 points. 451 points. 142 headshots. PAP'ed the AKS-74u, FAMAS, M16, and Ray Gun. Drank a total of 3 Revives, 3 'Nogs, 3 Speed Colas, and 1 DT. Was playing as McNamara. Maybe the reason I did so well this time was because I got lucky. There are times in "Five" that you will witness 3 or more items being dropped while slaying the hordes; sometimes they'll even be Death Machines and Insta-Kills. Here's a little hint I have to share, which I did discover during this session....while chasing the Thief, sometimes when he teleports he may teleport to a location next to you, perhaps a teleporter behind you. You can tell by the trail of numbers he emits. Also, if you open the rooms in the laboratory floor, there are times when the Thief will try to run through those rooms; sometimes he slows down while turning to another spot to run through, which you could use to your advantage if you're quick enough.

Couldn't find the logo, though collecting all the intel in that mission exposes the origins of the company.
  12. .........? i checked and it's still there Oh. I just checked. Maybe it was down for a while yesterday or something.
  13. I feel this way too. "Five" I think was just meant to be a goofy little bonus for us Zombies fans, to be privileged with playing as JFK, Castro, McNamara, and Nixon while shooting up zombies. Canonizing it would be interesting, and would add more to the CODZ storyline, but on the other hand they would be milking JFK & Friends (lol) and, ultimately, taking something funny and making it serious. So as a result, "Five" is one of those "once in a lifetime" opportunities, for lack of a more appropriate title to describe it. All other Zombies DLC will likely just include our four heroes (and perhaps that fifth guy?) and continuing on from there. 'Course, if they want to make new DLC including JFK and crew, it's up to them. If you think about it, zombies started out as a "goofy little bonus" I know, but considering that the Zombies mode has evolved into something of such significance, even including a rich storyline, there comes times when implementing certain things may or may not be good ideas. But as I said before, it's up to Treyarch if they want to continue the story of JFK, Castro, McNamara and Nixon, but my worry is that they could be milking it, so hopefully they'll know what they're doing if they decide to continue using those characters. Maybe a future DLC will have Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen meeting them at Site 5A ( 5 ) or something; I think that could be funny in some way.
  14. Well now; this is interesting. I know COD:BO outsold MW2, but this new article feels enlightening. Thanks for posting it. [brains]
  15. No references to Ebola in Campaign? Nope. No references to Ebola in Zombies? Not yet.....not yet...
  16. I have redeemed myself. 16 rounds. 41920 points. 327 kills. 86 headshots. PAP'ed the Galil & RPK. Drank a total of 3 Revives, 3 'Nogs, 2 Speed Colas. Was playing as Jack (JFK, durr); obtained the FAMAS, Galil, Monkey Bomb, Crossbow, and RPK from the Mystery Box. "Redeemed", you ask? Well, no Table Glitch was involved in this one, unlike my one many games ago. In fact, I think they patched that one; I once tried it myself but I just bounced off the top of the door. Thank you, Treyarch. Anyway, concerning strategies.....sadly I don't have any concrete strategies in concern to this level. "Five" is a very tough map; you think that there are lots of open spots to stay safe, but those open spots have windows and doors that zombies jump through, and teleporters aren't always the safest method of dodging the hordes, especially since if you teleport to one floor you will have to frequently call the elevator. Not even Sycorax (whatever the name of the room with the PAP is) is a safe spot because zombies can bust through the doors in that room too, though they only come over when the Death-Con returns to 1 (also opening the main door, where the whole mess of them will be waiting to rape you). I'm going to have to do some more kinking around with "Five", to explore significant differences between using the elevator and the teleporters. Who knows....maybe I'll break my record if I conceive new strategies. 8-)

  18. To be honest, I always set my search to local settings.....alas, I still get lag. Maybe some people near me are running on dial-up or something (technically impossible, but take the joke, okay?). Just imagine if the local searching picked up players near me. L’Étoile du Nord's apparently the worst state in the country when it comes to Internet connectivity....at least where I live, anyway. As for being wasted by the Japanese, well, I'm more worried about Internet lag than a challenge like them.
  19. This is a stupid question, I know, but I'm going to ask it anyway.....does this mean we can expect Japanese players on COD:BO MP? I don't have a problem with them, except for two things: 1.) The Japanese are almost like gods among us gamers, so we can expect serious pwnage from them if we're not careful. 2.) MP's servers are still iffy, so, at least for me, I can expect more lag.
  20. The site doesn't exist anymore? :o
  21. Actually, the red phone was something used by the POTUS and the Soviet leader during the Cold War. But perhaps red phones were of some significance in the Federal Government. As for "Five" being related to the story, that seriously wouldn't surprise me, considering the interesting stuff you discover on the CIA Data System in the main menu. As for GK.....well, I found out the name of it after collecting all the intel in Campaign. Decode it here.

Whoa! THERE is the GK logo. I haven't seen the GK logo anywhere in the game.
  23. Well I've not had freezing issues, but last night was the second time I, at one point in a game of Domination, experienced a horrible framerate drop, which for all I know led to terrible lag; I kept getting killed because of it. I don't know how it happened....I think I hit the PS button in the loading screen just to check for invites (grrr...), then when I left the XMB, I was lagging something God-awful. The funny thing is that my ping bar read 3-4 bars. I wonder if anyone else was having this issue. I went to Theater Mode after the match and saw that the video was running at the same framerate as I was. Do Xbox 360 players have this issue as well? I imagine that they don't, but I hear plenty of complaints from the Xbox 360 community about this game so I guess I can't be totally sure of everything. Treyarch, you've got some fixing to do. Come on now. Please? :x
  24. This article's almost an hour old, but I felt like posting here in case anyone was curious: http://businessnewstrends.com/playstati ... japan/0602 They didn't break our record, but Black Ops is evidently the top seller over there in Japan. Most of them were for PS3; not trying to be a fanboy here, as I'm just mentioning a statistic.
  25. Oh, at one point I was finally able to waste the Jew*, er, Thief. The first time he appeared I let him grab my M1911A1, then I was chasing him and spraying with my MPL. As he takes more damage you can see him limping as he runs....but when he teleports he seems to have regained some health because he isn't limping, but you just need to pop a few more rounds into him and he'll drop. Be careful when reloading, too; if you're reloading and you enter a teleporter, you'll have to reload again because the reload animation cancels once you teleport. This can be a real b!tch if you don't have Speed Cola, since you can't reload & sprint at the same time (which I think is kind of gay, and I think they could try some gimmick with this, like being able to reload while sprinting but reload speed is slowed down 50% or something.....but what do I know). One thing I noticed also is that you don't get that Trophy/Achievement until you kill him a second time. My second kill of him was a lucky one, for I had an M134 (or Death Machine, if you prefer.....if the Death Machine is modeled after the M134; I could be wrong since there appear to be some differences in design). Killing him a second time got me a Bonfire Sale, where I could teleport to Sycorax (the safe room with the PAP machine) and PAP whatever sh!tty weapon I had at a nice discount....but not until the Death Machine disappeared, by which time I'd be screwed. Damn; "Five" is a hard level... Also, and most importantly, there seems to be a little "bug" during the chase. If you're up-close to him during pursuit, you may not be able to teleport when he teleports.....sometimes you'll even teleport back to the first floor. If that happens, you're f*cked, and he has your weapon for all eternity....not to mention that you may not have time to rush back down and collect the Max Ammo item. *I'm sorry; it's his HAIR that reminds me of a Jew. It has nothing to do with him rushing up to me and taking away my toy while saying "Nope nope nope! ^-^ " and being so damn difficult to kill.
