  1. Forensic...? Lol. Ok then. No, seriously...It's a font guys. Even though it looks like handwriting, it's really just a font. So, I compare letters if I'm confused about something. Since fortuitous starts with an F and tortuous starts with a T, I just look through the letter for words I know start with those letters and compare. Through this process, I can say for sure our word in question does not start with a T, but it does start with an F. Based on context, the only F word that fits is fortuitous. Not really forensics, just deduction. Perfect! Thanks for looking at it more, exact scripts are always necessary :)
  2. I'm going to have to agree with Shooter here. The Giant has a set meaning, whether it existed or not, and I haven't ever found a mention of it being a giant metallic robot or anything of the likes. Sure, Treyarch could take creative license, but I don't see them taking THIS much.
  3. Well the more that I think about it, the less we really know about the origins of Group 935. Maxis was clearly around at this time, creating weapons like the M1916CXS (Mauser) back in 1915. But the real question is who's pulling the strings, as you have basically asked. The Thule Society wasn't formed until 1917, Vril Society in 1925. He could've been working for the government, who knows. But I do think that the founding of this Element back in World War I led, whether largely or not, to the foundation of these secret societies. I'll provide a quote from a popular conspiracy website: So we must ask, could this emergence be a result of the founding of the Element? I would say most likely. As for Group 935, we have no true date of when the creation was. For all we know, Maxis had created the society long ago and was working solo or with minimal people at the time. Zombies were around at this time, which we know because of the Letter from the Field main image and the letter written by Dempsey, mentioning a mysterious plague. With all of this, I'm now hard-pressed to believe that Group 935 was created in the late 1930's like previously believed. And if it was, it's simply an adaptation from a previously existing group, like you suggest.
  4. He may have known of them, we won't know that until the game is released and we can hear the quotes. However, in the Apocalypse trailer, I believe it's stated that this map is the first time that any of them ever meet each other. But based on the letters, it's clear that they were all well aware of what was happening in France.
  5. Origins was updated to the best of my current knowledge. More updates, content and aesthetically, are on the way.
  6. The part that is marked as ineligible from Nikolai's letter, December 10th - 1917, reads "prove tortiotous" and he misspelled tortuous I believe, which means "full of twists and turns."
  7. I feel like your galvaknuckles example was a poor one, since they are actually electric tazer knuckles, like that makes perfect sense. I don't see it remotely possible that there's two Russman's in this game. And I feel like it was alluded to on the cutscene: Russman: "Is that my first, or last name?"
  8. Well the pyramid was opened in 1945 and Samantha ran into it (why she would do that is beyond me). He's not necessarily stuck in the device itself, he's stuck in the other dimension, and this device allows you I control that dimension. He's the ultimate ruler of this device, and can infiltrate the mind of anyone in it to follow out his plans on the surface of the Earth. Richtofen was a different person before he touched te purpose, he has the intentions of "improving the human condition," however once he touches the pyramid, his mind is no longer completely his own.
  9. Yeah, like how TranZit was a code for a new style of Transit, the bus. It's minimal evidence, just something I felt it was alluding to. I'll have to sit on it, but my reasoning was that Great Leap Forward and Green Run both happen after the name of the historical event in their name takes place, so I thought this may be the same. Something interesting is that the Portugese began the Westernization of Angola when they ruled it in the 1920s. Not Western like a Wild West, but like European, hence te ghost lady's house, perhaps. Many theories on that one.
  10. My idea is this: Thousands of years ago, the MPD (Moon Pyramid Device) was created to house a certain entity, also known as the Devil, that was cast away in there by the Aryans as he was a fallen angel and this was punishment, his own prison with the key locked away. Anyone who enters can be swapped out in place of another's soul, but the Devil doesn't have this luxury. This prison he's in is Aether, or Hell, his very own underworld.
  11. According to the Call of Duty website, Nuketown agents "mysteriously" lose contact with Hangar 18, then setting up Nuketown Zombies. No Man’s Land is suspected to be Hangar 18. So naturally, I have come to the conclusion that them losing communication is the outbreak in No Man's Land. Now this is where the discrepancies begin, I believe No Man’s Land very likely happened in or before 1968, because of the banner that we see in the back of the Hangar and the sign. I don't see why the sign would be hung up after that operative team of Hangar 18 left in 1968, therefore making me believe that the outbreak had happened in or before 1968. Also, the sign that has the date 1960 on it implies that that change in procedure or law had occurred recently. Obviously, that may be wrong as there's plenty of laws from that time and still around. But when you couple it with everything, it makes sense to me. Because No Man's Land, Moon, and Nuketown happen at the same time, Nuketown also happened in or before 1968, not 2025, supported by how there’s already a Nuketown 2025 map and Nuketown Zombies is not that same style, it’s the older, original Black Ops style.
  12. I definitely believe there is something false about the Shangri-La we play in. Between the Satanic insignias and Brock specifically saying the "architecture is NOT what [he] had expected" and it being an "interpretation of" something he didn't mention.
  13. There likely won't be a fifth DLC, this upcoming one will likely be the last. They generally don't have time to create that many, and out of respect to Ghosts, they don't release maps that close to the game release.
  14. Which is where the issue lies. The actual truth exists, but our way of perception makes it so that we see it differently, unable to tell which is the actual truth. It puts us back a square one. For example, you and I have very different ways of assessing data, and our pool of data that we use as evidence is different, while some may be same here and there. What I'm saying is that because of this, we have the existence of opinions. So I guess what I'm saying is that open minds need to be kept, and while I reassess all of my data, I hope that you do as well.
  15. You are not able to dictate what is right and what is wrong, you are able to give your best thought process towards it, but that does not deem it factual.
  16. As what I've been trying to say elsewhere. It's a matter of perception, killing everyone in the world for your daughter, it's what a father would do. I'd do it for my upcoming unborn child. It seems as though what we are debating here is if Maxis had intents on saving the Earth, but question is from what. I'm conveying that he was saving them from a tortured life in addition to helping him reclaim Samantha. You're conveying that he had no intentions of saving them in any way, but actually just for the fun of it (or something similar), is that right? Correct me if I'm wrong, I just want to clarify the debate :)
  17. Just depends how they are mentioned. It's very appropriate to say that Shi No Numa is in 1945 due to Tank saying he starting killing Zombies in 1945, for example. Many things in your own story are incorrect, in my opinion. It's all a matter of opinion. Will I reevaluate things? Sure, but it's all a matter of opinion and how we see this. You can't call them truly incorrect, just incorrect to you.
  18. Not really a cop-out when it's mentioned by name. I personally don't believe there is any issue with maps jumping around. Time is messed up, we already know this. I don't think Moon is in the future, I don't think Alcatraz is in the future, I don't think there has to be one reality here.
  19. He specifically says "You will be the hero to save all of the Earth" and you don't think that means he will save the Earth? I don'tesn to be rude, but that just confuses me
  20. Well, this is where I get what I said from: "You will be the hero that has saved all of the Earth... FOR ME TO PLAY WITH!" Richtofen says that in Green Run, when he believes Maxis is attempting to dethrone him and save the Earth. Couldn't that be the vril-ya talking? I don't think the Vril-ya is what's inside him, I believe it's the Devil or something similar. The Vril-ya wouldn't make sense inside him, I've thought about it a lot and just never thought it to be true. It's been a while though, perhaps we can go over it so I remember why I said that lol.
  21. I didn't make that quote up... Richtofen says it, in Green Run. Check for yourself if you would like :)
  22. So his quote "Regretfully the Earth and its people will not survive." Is him believing he can save everyone? I'm certain he has no intention of saving or sparing anyone, Maxis has gone mad with the idea of being with Samantha. Nothing else matters to him. In Green Run, Richtofen does say himself that Maxis intends to save the Earth. "You will be the hero that has saved all of the Earth... FOR ME TO PLAY WITH!"
  23. Well, this is where I get what I said from: "You will be the hero that has saved all of the Earth... FOR ME TO PLAY WITH!" Richtofen says that in Green Run, when he believes Maxis is attempting to dethrone him and save the Earth.
  24. Maxis doesn't care about saving people. His goal was to open the rift to Argatha with the missiles, he was clearly lying when he said he wanted to minimize damage, come on did you hear that maniacal laugh? People were not even a factor when he planned to launch the missiles. All he cares about is meeting with Samantha in Argatha. And now that I think about it, Maxis contacted the O4 after Richtofen and Sam switched bodies. I wonder if it was Maxis and Samantha's plan all along to escape to Argatha together, willing to sacrifice everyone else. Perhaps prior to the body switching Maxis and Samantha planned on opening the rift. Clearly Maxis has had it planned for a while, perhaps even prior to getting turned ethereal by Sam. So when the missiles launched I assume Sam was able to get into Argatha using whatever crazy powers or knowledge she gained from the Aether, but Maxis not having the Aether's power/knowledge needed to gain the power of the Aether so he could fully open the rift and reach Argatha. On another note, there is so much new story stuff to think about on the Maxis side. I'm extremely disappointed in the Richtofen side, all it is is Richtofen winning. Surely they could have thought of something more, expand on the voices in Richtofen's head, have them take control, something. Very disappointing that we can sit and formulate theories about the Maxis side but the Richtofen side lies barren of any real story progress. I would argue he doesn't care about saving them, but rather sparing them. I'm likely wrong on this, but I personal see this is a likely option. Obviously he still has a plan regarding Agartha, but I believe he can still get in there without killing everyone. Therefore, I think his reason for doing it to spare them.
  25. Maxis is trying to minimize the damage caused by Richtofen. Killing all the humans saves them from a life subjected to tyrannic rule by Richtofen as he plays with the world and all of its inhabitants.
