I appreciate you posting this, however we already have a few threads on this so I;m going to lock this one and redirect you to the first one I see was made: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=30920 Thanks for understanding :)

Good topic here, but sadly this has already been made. Please further all further discussion to this thread, as this one will be locked: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=30920 Thanks for understanding :)

I still find it odd to name the craft you've made "Icarus" given the history above, but Mix did explain it to me rather well on Skype. Very well done Mix, like usual, great read and makes tons of sense. I am thinking that execute literally implies the Electric Chairs. We make our makeshift Icarus, send it into flight and find ourselves high into the sky, and crash into the Golden Gate Bridge. Either by hitting some wires or just naturally crashing there due to distance, I'm not sure. You can survive as long as you want on the bridge, spend as much time there as you wish, but eventually you must execute yourself and send yourself to Purgatory mode back on the island, thus completing one cycle.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but you are not allowed to post glitches on the website, so this thread will be locked. Again, sorry for any trouble, but we do have a Code of Conduct that prohibits that. :)

Alright so first thing I noticed is that the video is completely umrelated to the journal haha. The Al is likely Al Capone, stationed in Alcatraz starting in August of 1934, just like the others I believe, and was removed in January of 1939. The notorious residents, I presume, are the characters we play as. I am a bit confised as to when we Al's journal, but in the end we can confirm that this map takes place anytime after August 1934, but we already knew that. So, the editor is not an inmate, since Al says that he will "show him" when he gets out. Hmm, just me rambling, great post!
-
Well he was caught around that date, but the first 137 inmates were transferred to Alcatraz in August of 1934, most of which being "notorious bank robbers and murderers" and with as many counts of murder he had (116) I'm sure the judicial process took a while or they just held him somewhere in preparation for the inevitable transfer to Alcatraz.

I would argue that Shi No Numa isn't before Alcatraz Island, I think it happens in 1945, right before Der Riese. Richtofen has Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai by Shi No Numa and they're brainwashed, and he didn't brainwash them until the 40's.

The Different Zombies Universes (Plus Time and Location of Each Map)
Tac replied to Tac's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Keep in mind we know two of our characters are from Chicago and New York, not Kentucky. Haha, I think you mean Kansas. However, from that same article it states that those original 137 were "notorious bank robbers and murderers" and we know how Billy Handsome killed 116 people, so I'd say that that makes him notorious, so I'd agree it's after that date. We know for a fact it's after June 13, 1932, since that's the date on the Chicago newspaper, and after January 5, 1933, since that's when the bridge began construction. What's the date on the New York newspaper, do you know? EDIT: It's to blurry to be sure. I can't tell for sure what exactly has been made and completed due to the fog, so I'm not sure there. Don't worry bud, that makes two of us. We're both really stingy on dates, hence why I made this thread :) -
What does that show, I can't see it very well. The Golden Gate Bridge still in construction?
-
Hey guys! So this thread is made to consolidate all those "What I like and don't like about *insert map name*" threads that pop up after a map comes out, so this is where you can post all your first impressions and discuss everything you do and don't like! Make sure that it's constructive criticism, because Treyarch has openly admitted to reading our forum so this can help them out. Keep in mind that the Single Player team created this map, just like with Der Riese, so don't go blaming Jimmy and Rez for the things you don't like, just as a heads up. So yeah, go at it!! *This thread will be unlocked when the map is released*

Did Sam Controll the Zombies before Shi No Numa?
Tac replied to Mattzs's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Sorry what I meant by the 115 crater was the orange lights you could see on the moon in Der Riese. You had to zoom in with the PTRS-41. You would see a ring of orange dots. The dots later seemed to actually be the Moon Base, but I am confused on whether or not this ring was intended to be the Gryphon Station from the start. UPDATE- Sorry Tac, I guess we posted around the same time. I didn't see your quote til now. No worries man I used to think that the lights were Griffin Station since it was completed before we play in Der Riese, however the lights just seems really large and I didn't think Griffin Station was that large. I may be wrong, but I've since assumed it was just 115, mainly because of this terminal file about finding 115 up there: -
Did Sam Controll the Zombies before Shi No Numa?
Tac replied to Mattzs's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Hi MMX Ah okay that makes sense I see what you mean now, thank you. Yeah I'd say in that case then, they just had some 115 on the Moon that we see in those orange dots, and it gives them the option to run with that or end up never using it, but as we know they made something of it. -
I forgot, can someone get a DLC without Xbox LIVE Gold?

Welcome to the site! For being a female, I award you with a Zombshe medal, so congrats! Good to see you around and I hope you enjoy your time here :)

That's what worries me . The story has gone so far off from Der Riese. We've gotten so many dates since then. I'm sure they figured out a place to put it that won't interfere with our current timeline. Although if they do keep it to that pre 1940's era, they shouldn't have any problem working it in. Yeah I'm thinking the map will be between 1937 and 1945, because of the eye color being red. However, the eyes color is also yellow in one scene in the trailer, so my personal theory is that it may be red in the beginning and then turn yellow as Samantha enters the pyramid, placing the map in 1945. However if the red eyes really do belong to Maxis, then that makes no sense to be before Sam's reign, which would mean that it has to be after Richtofen, especially since Alcatraz looks abandoned. Lol I don't know, I'm hoping it's before Sam, it would make things simple. But we'll find out soon! :)

Agreed, whenever you link a video it's always a good idea to give a typed overview of what we're watching so that people like me, who can't watch the video, still know what is going on.

Billy, Everyone’s favorite psychopath 116 (Short Update)
Tac replied to Mattzs's topic in Mob of the Dead
He may hear voices, it's possible, but I can't think of how he would. Samuel did because he ate flesh and Richtofen did because he touched the pyramid, so if he does hear voices I'm interested in seeing how they incorporate it. -
Agreed. Although I'm not quite sure what to expect with this map, as it wasn't the usual team of guys that created this. I'm wondering if they paid as much attention to the miniscule details that Jimmy and the boys do. I'm sure they did, I mean hell, the Single Player guys made Der Riese and look how that turned out! But the GGB didn't get completed until April of 1937, so I think the map is after that.

The Different Zombies Universes (Plus Time and Location of Each Map)
Tac replied to Tac's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I've updated the map with Alcatraz, albeit my knowledge is limited right now so if you see anything you think should be fixed, say it! Oh, and I added the characters for each map in there as well. -
Did Sam Controll the Zombies before Shi No Numa?
Tac replied to Mattzs's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Oh definitely, I mean the only reason to have that radio from the Wii would be if they wanted to implement it later, which I believe they did. I mean same with the corkboards in Der Riese having the lighthouse and Eiffel Tower and stuff. Now those were altered a little bit later on, but it's all generally the same concept. Treyarch definitely knew what they were doing in that, I think. In regards to the 115 Crater, where does it say that? I've known about there being 115 on the Moon, but I never knew they said 115 Crater anywhere. But yeah, I think that they ran with the idea of 115 on the Moon and made a base out of it. I mean hell, in Five and Call of the Dead they bring up the Moon in quotes. "To the Moon with you hellion!" - John F. Kennedy in FIVE "To the Moon zombies. To the Moon." - Sarah Michelle Gellar in Call of the Dead And I did hear that there was word from Treyarch that we hadn't found everything, but I got word last night that that is false and the person saying that almost got fired for it. I can't validate that, but I did hear it wasn't true. -
That yellow seems so much yellower to me, I always remembered Sam's eye color being more orange, but I was mistaken. I am confused as to how this would be Sam, the only thing I can think of is that this map takes place at a later date than in the 30's of Alcatraz, because Sam wasn't in the pyramid until 1945. Oh jeez, this is confusing, I'm excited to see how this works!

Richtofen actually created the Monkeys, according to Maxis's post in the terminal. -
Where the Zombies come from/How Zombies got to 1930's
Tac replied to EricMaynard's topic in Mob of the Dead
The only evidence that I can find for backwards time travel would be from Kino Der Toten to Ascension. Kino Der Toten is said to be in 1968-1969, while Ascension is during FIVE in around 1962. Evidence for which is here: http://callofdutyzombies.com/forum/view ... 67&t=11967 But yeah, I mean obviously those can be wrong, but it's all I've got to go on now and I do think it's possible. -
Did Sam Controll the Zombies before Shi No Numa?
Tac replied to Mattzs's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I might be foolish for saying this, but I believe the zombie team now has a little bit more of a set storyline for BO2. We've seen the same concept throughout the last 5 or 6 maps (from CotD on at least) of Richtofen trying to take over the world, giving me hope they've thought some of this stuff through. The team had a lot of time off between BO1 and BO2, and I'm sure they knew the story needed to be complex as so many would follow it closely. Makes me think they put some time into to develop their own storyline to follow. Still, it's hard to tell. I believe that they have their ideas for envy thing planned out, but the details are something they get as they go along. I'd argue that the first 5 maps weren't very set in stone or organized, but after Kino they seemed to get a good idea of where they wanted the story to go. I'm very unhappy with the movement away from Nazi history, but as Richtofen says, I digress. But I mean in Kino, Richtofen has no clue where Sam is or anything like that but in Moon radios we find out that he's the one who cast her away and knew when she came back so he very well should have known. It just seems like they did some things early that hindered their ability later on to make changes, but they have the whole story at their fingers so I think they've known what they're doing since Ascension or so.
