  1. In Green Run, it has been pointed out lately by abakedpotato and blaked that there are many Russian words scattered across the map on silos and in the tunnel. Here's some images of the Russian words inside Green Run, retrieved by abakedpotato. http://www.flickr.com/photos/72705438@N ... hotostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/72705438@N ... hotostream The first image reads ЗАРАЖЕНО in Russian, which translates to 'contaminated' in English. The second image reads КОНТРОЛЬНО-ДЕЗИМЕТРИЧНИЙ ПУНКТ "ДИТЯТКИ", which translates to 'Security Dosimetry Checkpoint "DITYATKI"' in English. Dityatki is a small community inside of the 30 kilometer Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, which consists of all the areas hit. In case you are unaware, dosimetry is the measure of radiation in absorbed dose. It basically measures how much radiation you've exposed yourself too, letting you know if you're heavily contaminated or if you only have a few years worth of natural radiation. In Moon, there was a container on the roof of the building that also had Russian writing on it, however I am having trouble finding the thread. I remember that it had something to do with Dosimetry, though, and possibly even something with babies. No matter, I'm pretty sure it was different, but if someone can retrieve the thread or any information it would be greatly appreciated as it could help determine if it's just reused texture or perhaps something more. I just finished an essay regarding Chernobyl a few weeks ago for Science class that I'll include above for those that care to learn more about it, but Chernobyl occurred in 1986, as most can find out relatively easily. The physical containers inside the map mention the checkpoint that was established after 1986, so that would mean that Chernobyl had to of happened for these to be in Green Run, right? Well let's couple this with a quote by Marlton. We know that Nuketown happens during Moon, and it's currently assumed that they are in the 1960's. "Pre-collapsed society must've been a glorious place to live!" - Marlton This implies that Marlton did not experience pre-collapsed society, obviously. I would link the collapsing of society with Maxis' nukes hitting Earth, which when you put two and two together would mean he didn't experience society before the nukes. However, we can hear him in fallout shelter inside Nuketown before the nukes even hit, so what does this mean exactly? He explains being banished from his group, which I believe to be the group before Green Run since Green Run is after Nuketown. "1.21 GIGAWATTS! Where have I heard that before?" - Edward Richtofen We know Treyarch likes to make references to movies, as there are plenty towards Back to the Future. Has anyone seen Blast From the Past? Basically, it's about a kid who's father was a great inventor but his story has a twist. During the 1960's, the Cuban Missile Crisis bombs scares across the United States forced the family underground into their fallout shelter where they would live, and even give birth this young child. He was raised in the fallout shelter and while he was incredibly intelligent, he was horrifically socially awkward as he didn't surface until he was 35 years of age. "That was the last time you will ever hit this... Awkward, lonely fellow." - Marlton Hmm, who else do we know that is incredibly awkward, yet intelligent beyond belief? I am not going to say he was born in the Fallout Shelter as he has quotes about being targeted as a child and being banished by his previous group, likely sending him to his current location inside the Fallout Shelter, but I won't hesitate to suggest the idea that he has been in there a while. In case you have seen my thread about asking Marlton's age, this is why. If Nuketown were to take place in the early 60's like it's implied by the Sedan crater PINNAZ has been talking about, Chernobyl occurred in 1986, and the highest answer of Marlton's age so far is at 28. I would suggest that he was tormented as a child in the 1960's and stuck it out in Fallout Shelter when the nukes hit and came out when he was 28 and headed to Green Run, but he sounds the exact same in Nuketown as he does in Green Run. EDIT: Waffles and I found the USSR State Quality Mark on the crates in Green Run, which was active from 1967 to 1991. So I feel our timeline for the map is decreasing ever-so-subtly, perhaps between 1988-1991. More info here. Am I looking too far into these, what I believe to be, very important quotes or is it because there's more we haven't figured out yet?
  2. The game has moved out of the Nazi era and into the real, of electricity and energy. Expect more of it.
  3. Really? I played up til Round 34 Solo on Nuketown, knifing the shelter after every round, and the only voice I ever heard was Marlton. Probably knifed the shelter around 30 times that game, and always had Marlton say a response. It seems like there are about 10 different specific quotes said on Nuketown, as he often repeats the same lines. All I ever hear is Marlton when I play, although it does seem like he's addressing someone with a few of his quotes. I'm almost positive there is no one but Marlton in that fallout shelter, because the quotes ripped from Nuketown are only Marlton and Richtofen from the EE on Moon.

    My first theory

It is believed by some that Green Run takes place in in the 1960's, which we can call roughly 15-20 years after the time Kino Der Toten would have been up and running as a 935 facility. Abigail appears to be in her late 20's at the time of Green Run. There are two options running through my mind right now. 1.) We believe that time progresses as usual even when we time travel, as we go from 1945 Der Riese to late 1960's Kino Der Toten. How do we know this? Well there is the Fernsehturm visible from Kino, a tower which began production in the 60's, which implies the construction occurred at a time we were never present. As of 1945 or so, we know that Samantha Maxis was between the ages of 6 and 10. Assuming the rest of the world goes on like stated, and that Abigail was the same age, add the 15-20 years and that puts her between 21 and 30, which fits 2.) Some believe that time does not progress because when we teleport across many, many years, the characters look the same and nothing about their physique has changed based on what they should look like. In that case, then Abigail could have possibly been the babysitter of Samantha, seeing as she had no motherly figure in her life after the passing of her biological maternal figure. I am inclined to believe the first one, however that does not give her any sort of purpose to be at the facility, Group 935, as many know, was of the utmost secrecy so unless she was a child of another scientist, she had no reason to be there. In the second option however, being the babysitter would give her a reason to be present in the facility. Like I said, I am more inclined to believe the first one, but I felt like throwing both options out there.
  5. Treyarch can troll us sometimes, just look at the quotes. Some of them are direct comments about what the community has been asking for years, like Tanks quote about Takeo's katana. However, I don't think they would go as far as to make fake things to throw us off. That time could have been used to do several other things with the maps, like make a survival map for Diner. However, that didn't happen because they ran out of time (so I hear), so I assume it wasn't partially because of creating fake files for the community.
  6. Remember that Green Run happens after Nuketown, so I don't believe that Misty, Samuel, and Russman banished him. Perhaps it was the group before he ended up at Nuketown, allowing him to meet up with with our current Green Run gang.
  7. Yeah the light pole can be powered with a turbine.
  8. Lol I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not? Based on his quotes, it honestly sounds to me like he was just generally annoying and because of that and his intelligence level, he was banished. "They ask me to leave? I was the one reporting this scuffing behavior... makes no sense." I don't believe that they locked him in. Since they asked him to leave, it seems like he went willingly and ended up there for another reason.
  9. These are scripts for the Nuketown Quotes coming from the Fallout Shelter by Marlton. There aren't many, and some are reused from Green Run. If you have any suggestions on what you think they say, PLEASE comment! -FftjaQPHRs "No, my electronics! Ruined!!" "This device will prove my mental superiority once and for all." "Ahh, the amperes have hurt me to the quick." "The hydronic forces contained herein shall make me unstoppable!" "Ooooh, what an interminable wait." "Just because one is different is not a valid excuse to simply banish him." "The air is thick with the sound of carnivorous beasts!" "Execute them before they overwhelm us!" "Grow a pair of eyes already, there's zombies on the damn roof!" "Visibility here is near zero, what is the point?" "I cannot believe this is the best route to where we are going." "They ask me to leave? I was the one reporting this scuffing behavior... makes no sense." "Please respect my personal space!"
  10. O.O this makes my idea of Samuel take another turn , this means he is involved directly to creating / the origins of the denizens / the Vrill-Ya In all honesty, it shouldn't. He says that about everything including the box, the zombies, etc., he's just a conspiracy freak, he has no inner workings to the whole thing. He even makes quotes about becoming a zombie so he can truly find out who is behind it all.
  11. Looking at this image, what would you say the age of Marlton is?
  12. I feel like that could relate to the Bus Driver quote. "Darkened hole in a cliff, just ahead."
  13. There has been a thread created on this already, please refer to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=120&t=25462

    Clocks

Marlton's watch is set at 19:04'38, not 17:04 I heard the Green Run clocks are 45 minutes ahead, which supports yiur numbers, so change the 17 to 19 again, making it 19:49. The clocks always seem to have an importance, as I believe they determined the time of FIVE and Ascension. viewtopic.php?f=67&t=19855 Good thread, bringing this to light.
  15. I call dibs! Some of those quotes... Ahh.
  16. He's got three quotes regarding specific trees and nature occurrences. "Ah, carnivorous trees, native to the area. A multitude of them to be exact." "Hmm, deciduous trees this time." "Hmm, perhaps I should start a pine cone collection." Carnivorous trees are just trees that are large enough to kill a man or large animal, sometimes referred to as man-eating trees. Deciduous means "tending to fall off" so in regards to trees, it just means there are seasonal trees there. I think he's saying Carniferous trees. Or Conifer trees. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinophyta Yup, you're right. Thank you!
  17. I have been rallying for its own forum for a while but no one seems to be listening. As for the release date, I have not heard anything. Is it possible to get it in December even if you aren't a season pass buyer?
  18. If I remember correctly, the honking starts on round 5 and in my opinion, it's how Marlton gets from the Nuketown Fallout Shelter he's in and goes to Green Run.
  19. I think it may have to do with the ranking, as that's what most of his recent tweets have been about.
  20. There are a total of 25 haikus in the Terminal, except 1,2, and 5 are the only ones that regard to Zombies, all the rest are for the campaign. On top of that, there's also a few poems. viewtopic.php?f=67&t=11896&p=190215 Haiku 1 GUN IN MY RIGHT HAND COLA IN MY LEFT BRING ME THE MEATSACKS Haiku 2 UNDEAD ALL ABOUT SURROUNDED NEED MAX AMMO COULD USE A REVIVE Haiku 5 WENT DOWN TO THE LAKE STUMBLED UPON A SECRET WILL NOT SLEEP AGAIN Radiance.txt IF THE RADIANCE OF A THOUSAND SUNS WERE TO BURST AT ONCE IN THE SKY THAT WOULD BE LIKE THE SPLENDOR OF THE MIGHTY ONE POEMS "My name is John. They call me Banana. I once worked at a Tex Mex cabana But now I am here As walking dead near With nothing on me but a bandana." "Despite the scary, anxious feeling Killing walking dead is appealing My first kill felt great Felt like my first date Kicking their brains right up to the ceiling." "I once knew a soldier named Smokey He slapped me on the head and awoke me Turns out he was dead I cut off his head Yet but headless he still tried to choke me." "Smokey and I were trapped in a room We accepted our impending doom 'Til we noticed a monkey Which seemed kind of funkey Until we threw it and it went boom."
  21. He's got three quotes regarding specific trees and nature occurrences. "Ah, carnivorous trees, native to the area. A multitude of them to be exact." "Hmm, deciduous trees this time." Deciduous means "tending to fall off" so in regards to trees, it just means there are seasonal trees there. EDIT: I've been informed its coniferous and not carnivorous, which makes a lot more sense xD
  22. Instead of increasing your rate of fire to 133% like usual, it splits every bullet into two so basically doubles the damage of your weapons to 200% effective (assuming my math is correct). I am not aware if there are certain weapons it will not work with. Hmmm.... Well my firerate went up with DT2. You can see it well with the Ray. However, Damage feels indeed like doubled. It's way better than DT1. Gonna do some testing soon on that. Well, can test actually right now. €: Fire Rate is increased by 20%-25% (video analysis with measurement error ). But I haven't gotten more hit points with double tap. Without double tap, my pistol hits up to 5 targets (5x10pts), the FAL hit up to 6 targets. But with double tap, I didn't get more hits. If the bullets splits up, I should have gotten up to 12x10pts, but didn't. So I don't know if the bullet really splits up. Maybe just the damage is increased? That's what I'm thinking. I think it is just for those high rounds when you really need help, not for helping with point whoring :(
  23. I knew about the teleporter aspect, but I didn't even put two and two together about start of rounds. You taught one person at least :P
  24. The bus driver hasn't ever made a quote about the Eiffel Tower.
  25. However, Green Run is not in California, it's in Washington.
