Nah, they put in the ad clearly Near Future it would be letting people of if it was 70's. Because that just isn't near future. If it was in 70's they would have probably said takes place few years after Black Ops.

Could fit nicely with the whole flash back idea... First mission escape the Hilton anyone? Maybe, but I don't think the game would have more than maybe two flash back missions as its promoted as taking place in near future so that is where most of the missions are taking place. But we'll see how sleeper agents and JFK's death connects to this alter future Cold War theme.

Yeah, Woods indeed escaped from the Hanoi Hotel. Now we need to find out what role he has when he is so old already in the game.

Many don't want yet another "Modern Warfare", also the I don't really see room for flash back except on some cut scenes as the game play is set in future. Also the story of Black Ops was pretty much unfinished and it could have been continued with another Cold War era game. But I still want more game play to see if its working out or not. Multiplayer should need more room in the maps. Dedicated servers are must, if there is not them then I won't buy it unless after release if I get it cheap. Vehicles would be nice to have back in the MP also I can see the "one teaser image vehicle" being like tanks in W@W and UO.

If they are going to have large maps and other improvements maybe then I can accept them ditching the whole Black Ops story.
