  1. smash t.v was an early 90's arcade game published by midway. the nes port gave you the option of using d-pads on two remotes in single player. premise was very blade runner-esque. not certain, but i think there may have been a sequel in some capacity. if not in name, i think i remember another game using an updated build of the engine and the same dual joystick control scheme. its impossible to relay the the sheer metric tonnage of blinding rage that accompanied the hours it took to master the needlessly aeronautic control gimmick. smash t.v. was savagely difficult.... full blown absurdity to such a degree that even the dalai lama would not be exempt from bursting an existential nose bleed.
  2. the intended inclusion of bruce lee's likeness met its unfortunate end during beta testing as coding inconsistencies rendered the character model incompatible with quick revive and inordinately susceptible to the 'one hit kill' jioggernog glitch...
  3. i dunno man.... as the zombie universe is encroaching ever closer to the actual black ops storyline i think this is hinting at a little more than the usual dead horse we've been beating for the past two years or so.... taken point blank, i think this sounds like an internal dialog shared by mason and the remorselessly violent imprint reznov's mesmerism and personality left upon him. the song is a call and response question and answer session, but it seems like the real intent is justification, not vindication. there nothing about being morally or ideologically vindicated of bloodshed, either from the listener or the speaker, likening them to be one and the same but there is a sort of grasp for at least justification on a personal level. this is a purely internal monologue. dreamland or not, i believe mason is on the verge of inclusion with the increasingly tangenial zombies/campaign story arc. in mean... what the hell else is he going to think about strapped in front a wall of like the million television monitors we see at the main menu.... talk about theater of the damned... and yeah....theater of the damned, someone is thinking what i'm, thinking here.... slight tangent, but odd how we have a setting in a cinema, then we have ascension laced with dozens of wizard of oz references, and now apparently we're about to have a full cast of film stars as talent for the next batch of characters.... hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm?
  4. ok, riddle me this.... how do any of you area 51 enthusiasts imagine that such a map could possibly end up any different than the 2 sub-levels in FIVE? i mean, i get it... the idea of area 51 provokes some pretty sexy potential for killing some extravagantly bizarre shit, but in terms of map design area 51 (above ground air base/below ground research facilities)is something i can almost promise treyarch would not touch. two reasons: 1. above/below ground dynamic in the context of a single map presents needless complications with level design/flow. a porvocative locale is meaningless if it comes with the baggage of compromised level design. 2. area 51 already has almost a half century of mythology behind it, why would treyarch bother clouding the universe of their own storyline? reinventing a location that is so entrenched in pop culture is always a catastrophe. in the act of prostituting the area 51 phenomenon they would needlessly call their own intellectual property into question (and that of the increasingly persnickety Activision). instead of making like moses and parting their groveling fan base like the red sea treyarch will more likely than not opt for something that does not irrevocably suck. and don't take what i'm offering lightly... i'm not just shooting from the hip. given the unavoidable implementation of motion technology with modern warfare 3, a family friend who works at the same brokerage firm that linked microsoft with developers of what would become the kinect technology dropped a couple interesting tidbits of information my way.... spoilers below..... map pack 2 is currently in beta stages and testing quite well. included will be new zombie map "Episode III: A New Pope" set in a digital reconstruction of the vatican upon the holodeck of the USS Enterprise, the ship itself locked in a tractor beam inching towards the ominous Death Star which is in orbit remaining stealth in the shadowed underside of Planet Melmac's 2nd moon.... Paris Hilton, Laura Palmer, John Lennon, and disgraced NFL place-kicker Scott Norwood- 4 new additions to the sprawling storyline continue to fight a relentless hoard of zombified production assistants transporting wave after wave from a yet to be revealed mystery machine (supposedly located in the distant past disguised as a prop for Uwe Boll's film adaptation of House of the Dead) don't kill the messenger guys.... but you heard it here first....
  5. perhaps not the most logical explanation, but i think logic with regard to 3arc's zombie mythology is not a straightforward game, almost like an alice in wonderland scenario. though i feel you have alot more to say on this issue, (i do too, its like i could spend more time on this than my thesis) i like the skeleton of your argument. particularly that there is something much larger at hand than the bloated post WWII arms race and secret society decoder ring conspiracies revolving around a girl who may or may not be the quintessential ultimate binding force to the illusive element 115. i think there is much more at hand than the literal nuts and bolts of the storyline, i mean every character in the story arc has a name of extreme etymological significance... i think we will see things unfold quite differently than many of us are expecting...
  6. posting from my phone so i'll expand on this later, but i've been harboring similar suspicions... it would take alot of backtracking to make a watertight case, but i support the richtofen/norman bates/tyler durden argument entirely. especially in regard to maxis, take a look at this, entirely possible that richtofen in his dimentia is actually projecting memories of his life through his schizophrenia? ie; maxis as a projection of his obsessive pursuit of knowledge (or as goethe described it in faust 'illumination'?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_Max ... _of_Munich also... does this image look suspiciously familiar? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... Cnchen.jpg main lobby in kino? ...work in progress, more to come
  7. "The whole song has a religious overtone, and I believe that line is no different." ...have yet to see this noted but the name samantha carries substantial weight... a cursory etymological search: 'a listener of God, or God has heard' .... applying variations of this idea to many of the board's more involved discussions draws some interesting possibilities...
  8. a glorified vacuum? dude, was totally waiting for someone else to drop the dime on this so i didn't get flamed for the leak... exclusive wii edition dlc... kirby. der. toten. /thread
  9. Takeo is actually making a tongue in cheek reference to the Godzilla films, a pop culture phenomenon contemporary to the black ops timeline
