  1. Thanks for the brains, because I certainly did do my research . As far as the setting goes, It makes me think that Five is not as irrelevant as people would have originally thought in regards to the zombies storyline. I mean WHY would we be getting phone calls from the Presidents with sounds of them fighting zombies? That was the question I wanted to answer for myself, along with why and how this could all be relevant to Richtofen being in an Astronaut suit. He has been here before, or suddenly became revolted by zombie guts rather than excited by them ("Their screams are so erotic") and wanted a change of clothes It also, for me, further backs the theory of a future moon map. I need to do more research to explore this further. I'll keep posting the more I can find to piece it together in a sensible way. For the record: I only started playing Zombies on Black Ops, so forgive me if I'm a little slow in piecing things together here. Regardless, the historical correlations are fascinating to me, so here I am. ;)
  2. I thought Five was during the Missile crisis. That's why they were talking about it in a cutscene. The Cuban Missile Crisis occurred in 1962. JFK was in office during the cuban missile crisis as well as the space race. I think it would have been more appropriate to say during the same time period of JFK being in office.
  3. I had found something in Kino that I think went unnoticed, the fact you can hear a man screaming in the speed cola room. I posted a while back about it here with video: viewtopic.php?f=56&p=57010#p57010 It wasnt easy to find either. Its so hard for me to believe a few film reels & radios + meteor rocks are all there is to that map, especially considering how much more complex the one in ascension was. They gave us more clues on the ascension one. I am just saying it couldnt hurt to re-examine it in regards to the campaign, as the egg for ascension corrolated with a part of the campaign, whether I mis-interpreted Mr. Bunting's statement or not (which is possible).
  4. You could PM me if you wouldnt mind. You have my curiousity raging :!:
  5. I think we definitely need to re-examine both Maps to fill in some of the gaps. ;)
  6. Just wanted to start a new thread as I posted a response in another thread about this. This podcast came out right before the relase of the First Strike DLC. According to one of the developers during the interview with Major Nelson "There are still Easter Eggs that nobody has found to this day". He doesnt specify whether Kino or Five. Listen for yourself. http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/12/ ... etnam.aspx
  7. Default did you see the pic of the russian space probe? Another jaw dropper http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lunik_3.jpg
  8. Furthermore check out the information on Wiki regarding the Space Race between Russia & the US. My jaw dropped when I saw the picture, looks familiar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_exploration Where do Germany and Richtofen play into this? Maybe because the German rocket V-2 was the first to be successfully launched into outerspace. Wernher von Braun was the lead rocket engineer for Nazi Germany's World War II V-2 rocket project. In the last days of the war he led a caravan of workers in the German rocket program to the American lines, where they surrendered and were brought to the USA to work on U.S. rocket development.
  9. Here is more info: The Soviet Union was the first nation to touch the moon with a probe called Luna 3. This seems to explain why we have to spell LUNA with the landers From Wiki: Exploration of the Lunar surface by spacecraft began in 1959 when the Soviet Luna 2 mission crash-landed into the surface. The same year, the Luna 3 mission radioed photographs to Earth of the Moon's hitherto unseen far side, marking the beginning of a decade-long series of unmanned Lunar explorations. Responding to the Soviet program of space exploration, US President John F. Kennedy in 1961 told the U.S. Congress on May 25: "I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth." The same year the Soviet leadership made some of its first public pronouncements about landing a man on the Moon and establishing a Lunar base. Also: The Soviet space probe Luna 3 of 1959 (of the E-3 series) was the third space probe to be sent to the neighborhood of the Moon, and this mission was an early feat in the spaceborne exploration of outer space. Though it returned rather poor pictures by later standards, the historic, never-before-seen views of the far side of the Moon caused excitement and interest when they were published around the world, and a tentative Atlas of the Far Side of the Moon was created after image processing improved the pictures. This space probe has been commonly called "Lunik 3", predominantly in the Western world. These views showed mountainous terrain, very different from the near side, and only two dark, low-lying regions which were named Mare Moscovrae (Sea of Moscow) and Mare Desiderii (Sea of Desire). Mare Luna Desiderii was later found to be composed of a smaller mare, Mare Ingenii (Sea of Ingenuity), and several other dark craters. Check out what the device looked like. Hmmm, I've seen something resembling this Russian space probe before!!! 8-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lunik_3.jpg *Needless to day, the time setting is correct for Ascension and Five to both be happening at the same time, hence the presidents calling on the phone during gameplay.
  10. Thank you! Somebody who gets me lol. Russia was in a space race with the US at the time I believe. Here we are in a Russian launch facility with lots of things pointing us upward. I just think it seems plausible.
  11. I was tired when I wrote that last night, let me elaborate now. I found the link to Wiki on another site & I wanted to post in reference to the theory of the possibility of a future moon map & a possible theory. I thought this was relevant, even if in a minor way. See below. WHY IS RICHTOFEN IN AN ASTRONAUT SUIT?? Clearly he's been to space, or he's going, or maybe both. For me, the wiki info seemed to correlate the possibility AND the feasibility of there being a lunar based map & maybe even tie in timewise why we hear the presidents on the phone. Knowing there was even such a proposal during the History of the US put forth in our defense department, and all around the time JFK was president was an interesting coincidence considering where Ascension has taken us. I've heard over time (IRL) that the US and Russia had bases on the moon. We know how secretive the gov'nt can be (Area 51). I will continue to dig further to see where this idea takes me, but I wanted some input and pick peoples brains who may know more about the historical events surrounding this theory. Editing the title to be more relevant as well. :)
  12. Found this in another forum so I'm bringing it here. A very interesting read. It details the US Military's proposal for a lunar military base, which was titled Project Horizon. :geek: I find it interesting that JFK would've been on his last year of his term when this project began.... had he not been assassinated in 1963. It was brought to the table right before he stepped into office. They had planned on having it built & functioning within one year! Project Horizon From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Lunar Military Outpost Moon Type Outpost Built planned to begin in January 1965 In use project cancelled Controlled by United States Garrison 12 soldiers Project Horizon was a study to determine the feasibility of constructing a military base on the Moon. On 8 June 1959, a group at the Army Ballistic Missile Agency (ABMA) produced for the U.S. Department of the Army a report entitled Project Horizon, A U.S. Army Study for the Establishment of a Lunar Military Outpost. Some reasons cited were military and scientific advantages over other nations. The program would also assure demand for the rockets ABMA was designing.[1] The Horizon lunar outpost was said to be necessary to protect United States interests on the Moon, to conduct Moon-based surveillance of the Earth and space, to act as a communications relay, and to serve as a base for exploration of the Moon. The permanent outpost would cost $6 billion and become operational in December 1966 with 12 soldiers. Altogether impractical, Horizon never progressed past the feasibility stage in any official capacity.
  13. "Skewer the Winged Beast" caught my attention We always use the ray gun to blow up the rocket. Has anyone tried to "Skewer" the rocket with a crossbow? One of those darts would provide more of a skewering effect than a ray gun. Doubt it will make any difference in the outcome, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. :)
  14. I agree with you here. I'm still up in the air if this egg is done or not. Just keeping my eyes open and my mind open as well. I certainly dont believe everything I read. Thats I can say with certainty. One thing I can say is Treyarch knows we are going to be doing this with a crawler, not in the middle of the round...it takes too much preparation. Idk. This egg is making my [brains] hurt to be honest with you lol
  15. Not saying I'm buying it, but it was an interesting read. Just wanted to share. http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/topic/4 ... aster-egg/
  16. Hey I agree, to each his (or her lol) own. This is what works for me. I wanted to post because I know that sometimes a conglomerate of strategies incorporated into one another can help people last longer. I just personally see it as a danger zone because all those zombies can jump up and run out that door. lol Rofl I've seen your Womp strategy. Good stuff!
  17. Just thought I'd post this tip. It helped me a lot in the 30+ rounds (my highest is 37). The key point is to NEVER,ever open the top door in the starting room, not the entire game. There are two reasons for this: 1. There is a barricade opposite that door. If both are open, you are shutting down that entire side of the map as a viable running area. Trying to dodge the zombies inbetween there is extremely hard when both are open. 2. When you are in the high 30's, say you start teleporting. If you dont open the top door, you will have ample time as the zombies in the home room will have to go all the way around to get up to you out by the kassimir device launcher. This will give you ample time to run out and put on the fire trap while waiting for the teleporter to cool down, plus kill zombies as well. Then you only have to worry about 4 barricades and the ground, which is much more manageable to run over there when there isnt a horde piled on top of whats breaking in. Try it out. It worked well for me. Got downed on 37 making a jug run btw lol. Good luck & happy zombie killing people! ;)
  18. Hey the big toe, may I ask you why in the world you gave me a negative reputation rating on this thread without even commenting? What exactly are you unhappy with here? I'm confused. :?:
  19. Okay, I take it back. I now believe he is saying "Listen, help me" NOT Mason help me. My bad.
  20. Sweet Willie. I'm looking forward to hearing what you come up with as far as the morse code goes. :)
  21. It all goes back the theory of there is some part of her essence that is still good. She struggles inside with it. Its on the boards here somewhere. :)
  22. what? hew never says anytihing to or about mason Listen carefully when you start the Ascension round. The captive says "Mason, help me". I'm almost 100% sure. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong plz :?:
  23. Cool about checking out the morse code thing. Would be nice to know. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to argue your point on the egg. It was there since day one of black ops release. My buddies and I were screwing around with the new dive feature on the stage and did it accidentally. We were like "What the heck, why did she laugh?. We ran around trying to find anything different, but obviously didnt realize the result was more powerups. We hadnt been playing the game long enough to know that we were getting more powerups than usual. Just think, if it was a glitch, they would've patched it when they patched the monkey & 3 gun glitch along with the update. I think its a legit egg, and a pretty cool one to boot. Just my humble opinion though Sam has been known to be nice & give us stuff. I think it leans more towards the good vs. evil struggle inside herself theory.
  24. I cant believe Sam is alive and/or is not evil. First off, why does her captive state "Hurry, she's coming" in a panicky voice, and also refers to her by saying "She's almost here". He FEARS a sweet 6 year old child who is alive, and to boot one who keeps him captive? She has power to be able to enslave a man. She is in existence, but in what form remains yet to be seen. What also drives me nuts is the man in the begginning begs for help from Mason. How does he know Mason, and why when he addresses our hero's (and villain) does he think he is speaking to him? Are the heroes in Mason's mind? There is so much to be pondered on this one. Any thoughts?
