First there Were Nagas.... Now Yetis! [UPDATED LINKS]
Dreamland_Grue replied to Dreamland_Grue's topic in Shangri-La
Yeah, just saw it. But it doesn't rule out Yetis, right? Hm. Regardless, it still looks fun. -
Do you mean the Map Pack 4 Map or are you talking about Annihilation? Because Annihilation's zombies map is in Shangri-La.

UPDATE: I decided to do further research, and it appears the Nazis were aware of and searching for Yetis in the 1930s: http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/nazis-tibet-yeti/ So we're going to the legendary city of Shangri-La, and for those not yet aware, this particular city is said to be a Paradise that resides in some valley in the Himalayas. But lost cities are not the only thing that supposedly hides in these mountains. I want you to meet the Yeti, also known (rather informally) as the 'Abominable Snowmen'. In the case of Cryptozoology (the study of hidden animals), the Yeti are one or more species of bipedal ape that are supposedly found in the Himalayas; similar to the Sasquatch of North America. Their footpints are sometimes found by mountain climbers on the higher mountains, but it is thought that they live in the warm, tropical valleys of the mountain range. While popular culture often depicts the Yeti as white, the few sightings of them indicate the color brown. In some Himalayan cultures, the Yeti are a type of half-animal, half-spirit deity that guard the tops of the mountains, preventing humans from reaching the peaks. I do not think that it would be all that different for them to be guarding Shangri-La in the same manner.... They have also found their way into BO already: If you get far enough into Dead Ops Arcade, you will find them fighting alongside giant exploding versions of the Yeti. Annihilation Zombies Location - With Nga Fireballs!
Dreamland_Grue replied to Dreamland_Grue's topic in Shangri-La
Thank you Roflwaffles! And I actually commented on the fireballs a while after I made the article, and then decided to put it in the top one as well, just in case someone missed the original comment. But it turns out that the legendary city of Shangri-La is supposedly hidden somewhere in the Himalayas. -
Annihilation Zombies Location - With Nga Fireballs!
Dreamland_Grue replied to Dreamland_Grue's topic in Shangri-La
Dug up some more links of a subject I thought appropriate; the Naga Fireballs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_fireballs (Notice the Naga statues at 0:39) These are mysterious lights that vary from sparkles to basketball-sized, and appear on the Mekong River around late October. There are only a few 'realistic' possibilities that could cause them (swamp gas teehee). But some of the locals claim that they are caused by a giant snake - one that is known as the Naga. How does this tie into zombies? They could be those odd lights found in the Ascension Easter Egg. Or they could play a part in the next map. -
My breakdown: Map Pack 3, for sure: New Zombies Map = MENU_ZOMBIE_TEMPLE Silo = MPUI_SILO Hangar 18 = MPUI_AREA51 Hazard = MPUI_GOLFCOURSE Drive-In = This appears to be new. Map Pack 4, possibly: MPUI_SALVA MPUI_SNOWMINE MPUI_WARMUSEUM MPUI_FIREBASE Hopefully an Area 51 Zombies Map

Hmmm, there is a large hole in your theory: *Danny Trejo leaked that he was being part of CotD through his twitter around February or March of this year. *3Arc makes the maps, not Activision (who are greedy though). *And the reason Five is the same is because it is in the same building as the other level, which exists in real life. It's called the Pentagon. I don't know if you've heard of it.

The reason i say make it smaller is because if i got down in Call of the Dead and a person is halfway across the map it is rare that they can make it to me and if they do im all the way Red and or i die when they are about 15 inches away, Oh and i hope they have another Big boss guy but he only shows up every 7 rounds and drops a double points and a max ammo but takes allot of time to kill. The size doesn't matter to me because I usually stick together with someone, I just don't want to go though a million doors just to get to my sweet Juggernog. I went a few days of Jug-less CotD playing until I was finally reunited with it.
-
If you notice, they pushed Map Pack 2 out for the PC and PS3 quicker than they did with First Strike, so I definitely think a 4th pack is inevitable.

I was looking at the leaked Map Pack 3 poster and I looked at the maps. When I got to the zombies one, I immediately recognized the shape shown: it appears to be a NÄga, a race/species/deity from Buddhist mythology/religion. They are similar to the Lung, also known as "Chinese Dragons." So this points to the map being in an Asian country, like India. I think I remember Richtofen saying something about the monkeys having power. Someone should give this a try... I would but I've been busy lately.
-
Yeah, those have been there since the begining, same with the scientists. People were going crazy with questions like "OMG will thar b gas masks in new maps lol?", among others. We should probably go back to GKNOVA6 and see if it's updated... everyone has been all about the nodes.... lol.

I'm still laughing my rear off after hearing Nikolai say "I've fallen and I can't get up!" when is gets down.

Yeah, I have this bug too. It gets on my nerves so badly! All of my most recent rounds have been utter crap, so it tells me my highest round is 6 on Ascension or something. Total bull.

Ok, so I was scanning the Area 51 article on Wikipedia for anything zombies-related, when under the "see also" section I found a place called Kapustin Yar. It turns out that his was a Russian rocket launch and developnet base that grew into a cosmodrome in 1966. Kapustin Yar is notable for using captured tech and science from defeated Germany, launching rockets, and having UFO sightings. It's also interesting that it was totally secret; it was never put on any maps and was inaccessable to the outside world for the most part. It's basically Russia's answer to Area 51. Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kapustin_Yar The only thing though is that all of the pics I've found of the base don't look like Ascension. What do you guys think?

Yes, all of the Perk-A-Cola macines play music when you go near them. Here is a link for some of the songs:

just explored every digital inch of ascension
Dreamland_Grue replied to xcodesterox's topic in Ascension
Eh, a little dissapointing. I really hope that they put more easter eggs and stuff with the PS3 and PC releases, because Ascension seems to lack that kind of stuff. [brains] for you. -
While the whole it's-all-a-dream thing makes sense, Dreamland is actually the word used to describe the Area 51/Groom Lake, a possible future map. Refrenced by the Dreamland Server, as well as coordinates heard in one of the Der Reise radios.

where is the next setting?what happend to dr.maxis
Dreamland_Grue replied to zombiedude6776's topic in Ascension
It being Area 51 is unlikely..... well to me it is. Nah, I think Zombie_Creeper is right. We already got zombies in the Pentagon, although if they do make an Area 51 map I hope the characters are Richtofen and the others. -
Well, you're mature...
-
Nope, never was, however there were recorded quotes by Richtofen's group found in the PC version's files regarding the machine.

Right and since your using pistols your run 3x as fast since their weight isn't like that of a LMG. That's true, too. Pretty killer combo going on. Now that I think about it, you really don't need Speed Cola when you have M&S anyway, they reload in half a second. That'll save 3000 points I would usually use when I have the Thundergun.

Ok well you're wrong on both counts, and I'll tell you why. First, the catwalk on prison break is a terrible idea. Not only do you and your partner (neither of you has Firepower yet, clown, Prison break is round 9-12) not get to any items/treasure/power-ups, but you also corner yourself with little room to move. Second, the fact that I even need to point out how dumb spinning around with the flamethrower is means you're probably one of the idiots who do it. Thanks for trying to help, but these are two terrible pieces of advice. Well, both work for me pretty well, and most other people I see online do the same things. When I play the prison rounds the catwalk makes it SO much easier for me to get through, but I can see how the flamethrower would get ineffective in later rounds. Oh, and I know that you don't get the Fate of Firepower until later, I was talking about having the other guy shoot in the same direction as you for a sec so you don't die.
-
Oh, these are definitely going to be my second and third perks of choice, after Juggernog, of course. I'm probably going to use Mustang and Sally a lot more due to this. Think about it: Juggernog gives more protection from splash damage, PhD Flopper will decrease splash damage, and Stamin-Up will allow me to get far enough away to turn around and fire.
-
Same here. I really don't like DT Root Beer at all, though. There aren't really any weapons that need the increased firing rate.
