Ok, so looking at the Inside Xbox video we can see that the Death Machine powerup is returning. Now, as long as things keep normal and we have all of the other powerups (Nuke, Max Ammo, Carpenter, Insta-Kill, Double Points, Fire Sale) as well, we have all but one powerup: Bonfire Sale. For people who don't play "Five" this powerup makes any Pack-A-Punch purchase only 1000 points and links all teleporters to the PaP room. The only way of getting it is to kill the Thief before he steals anyone's weapon. Now, in Ascension it seems that we have to solve a puzzle to get to the PaP room, like in “Five”. However, the puzzle in “Five” could be overridden by getting the Bonfire Sale powerup. Now let's assume that Bonfire will be in Ascension; it could make all of the lunar landers go to the PaP room. But how could we get it? It probably wouldn't be the monkeys, because you get a Max Ammo, like the hounds. In “Five” it is dropped by the Thief, a very tough enemy. What if we had another tough enemy in Ascension? Like maybe a boss? I think if there is a way to get Bonfire Sale on Ascension, you would have to kill the Cosmic Silverback. A few reasons to back up on the Cosmic Silverback part of the theory: *The Cosmic Silverback is part of the main storyline, he's on a magazine in “Five” from what I've heard, haven't found any videos or pics yet. *According to nazizombies.wikia.com, ingame files of Ascension include data for the Cosmic Silverback. *Cosmic Silverback has many connections to the location of Ascension. *In DOA the CS drops a large amount of treasure upon death, in Ascension he could drop Bonfire Sale powerup. *We already have Space Monkeys. *Ascension is very large and has many open areas and cielings, good for the CS to use his jump-pack to get around. Just a theory I slapped together, sorry if I rambled a bit much. What do you guys think about it?

The Cuban Missile Crisis wasn't a place, it was an event.

I think it may just be the camera, but it is smooth, like Keith Stone. Eh, but if anyone would have a two-headed cosmonaut, it would probably be Russia.

Most of it is good, but two flaws: 1. Always use the catwalk on the prison rounds as long as you have at least one buddy. Just sit there and camp by the stairs, one of you shooting down the other up unless you need extra firepower in one direction for a few seconds. 2. When you get the flamethrower, spin around as much as possible! Even though you can't see, the zombies burn almost instantly when they touch your large sphere of fire.

Theory on perk stealing monkeys....
Dreamland_Grue replied to Z0MBIEStheyN0MBIES's topic in Ascension
I've seen three monkey suit colors so far: red, green, and another color that is either yellow or silver. Like others have said, red is Juggernog, green is Speed Cola, and the third one is something else.... probably Double Tap Root Beer if it is yellow. There are probably other colors if the theory is correct. As for how they steal your perks, I don't know. Probably hump it out of you or something. -
I think it just means you have to use all three landers at some point, but I'm prayin' that it means that we will have a Cosmic Silverback boss fight.

They probably won't be on Ascension, but it's possible that they will be on a futre DLC map. Here's a noclip shot from the wiki:

That's why I didn't think the monkeys would be hellround enemies (http://callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5503) because if they didn't do damage they would be a clone of the Thief, except with perks, but seeing as it is likely that they are hellround enemies IDK. Maybe the monkey rounds only start when the players get perks, and that they switch out with Cosmic Silverback rounds.

Analysis of Ascension in the First Strike Trailer
Dreamland_Grue replied to Fu453's topic in Ascension
they lookmore like capuchin monkeys see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cebus_capucinus.png I thought so too at first, but it looks like the Space Monkeys are just modified models of the ones found in the Rebirth Labs. Unlike capuchins, these guys have blander colors, stubby tails, and enlarged buttocks. Video: -
Analysis of Ascension in the First Strike Trailer
Dreamland_Grue replied to Fu453's topic in Ascension
Baboons are classified as monkeys, though, becasue they are primates with tails. And these Space Monkeys are baboons, too, check my theory here: http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5503 -
I think that the gas masks are just going to be a visual thing, as zombies are undead and don't really need to breathe (generally, these may be an exception though.) and can even survive having their legs blown off without repair. And they die due to the explosion of the Creepy Crawlers, rather than the gas. Although zombies with masks may indicate that there is a ready supply in the area...

*POSSIBLE* Ascension trailer tomorrow, 1-25-11? (JD_2020)
Dreamland_Grue replied to xStopDropNKillx's topic in Ascension
lolz, you put 01-25-10 when it should be 01-25-11. -
Now, I know this will probably be regarded as old information or false information by tomorrow, but I will continue for the heck of it. There has been some debate and brainstorming about how these perk-stealing space monkeys will work. I believe that I have peiced together a decent theory on the subject: The New Hellround? Several people think that because the monkeys are new enemies, that they will be Ascension's equal to the Hellhounds. But there is a problem: If all they do is steal perks, and no damage, how would the round happen if no one has any perks? Why would put in a new enemy if all it is is a Theif clone except with perks? I personally believe that these monkeys will be secondary enemies, much like the Creepy Crawlers. They might start to spawn when players get perks, like how the Creepy Crawlers start to spawn when the power is turned on. Then who would be the Hellround enemy? While it is possible it will be the normal Hellhounds, I think it is about time that 3ARC puts in an actual boss in 1st person zombie mode. And I know some people won't want to hear this, but it is likely to be the Cosmic Silverback if anything. True Identity? When one first hears 'space monkeys' they would, in most cases, immediately think it is the Cosmic Silverback. But would the largest (so far) enemy in 1st person zombies do nothing but take perks? It wouldn't make much sense, considering that while he does steal treasure in DOA, he kills his attackee in the process. Also, if you look back at the GKNOVA6 sketch, you will see the primate pictured has a smaller mouth, smaller forehead, larger nose, and thinner body. Now, look back to the Rebirth labs. If you remember, there are many monkeys trapped in cages. You were probably too busy fighting to get a close look, so here is a close up (compare to GKNOVA6 sketch): Similar, right? It should also be noted that the caged monkey's tail is stubby, and this tail could be hidden from view in the GKNOVA6 sketch. Now looking at the caged monkeys, look at this: http://animal.discovery.com/mammals/baboon/pictures/baboon-picture.jpg The caged monkeys are baby baboons! All they would have to do is add more animations, zombify them, slap on a cosmonaut suit, and you have a perk-stealing space monkey! One last note: apparently baboons still count as actual monkeys, as they are primates with tails. Tell me what you guys think.
