They are not copying off of Uncharted. Shangri-La is used in multiple games, and most depictions look the same. And the design for the crawlers is simliar to man other creatures in game.

Just throwing it out there, new kinda zombie= new dog round
Dreamland_Grue replied to killerussian's topic in Shangri-La
True, but it is possible that you must do something that triggers them to spawn, or that they show up rarely. -
Not to be rude, but what are you smoking? Shangri-La is a mythical city in the Himalayas, we even have gameplay of it.
-
I did think it looked rather monk-like.
-
I could have swore that the Nuke was green. We'll just have to wait and see.

A zombie variant that shows up with the normal ones. -
If you check at the very first seconds in which they show the running monkey in the video, I'm pretty sure it grabs it, like it goes from green to red. Go see for your self.

Whoa whoa whoa. You are waaaay wrong, COTD is amazing, first of all. Shangri La looks alot like SNN, which is good, because that was one of the best maps. I second this. I like CotD more than Ascension, and I think I will like Shangri-La more than all of the maps.

That's very possible, what if it's just at random? Exactly my point! In the video the monkey picks up the powerup first, so there must be something to drop it!

Is it time for our encounter with the Silverback?
Dreamland_Grue replied to RedDeadRiot's topic in Shangri-La
I have my own points, in no particular order: A) The Silverback probably has a lot more to do than some people think. Gorillas are not as dangerous as they seem, I would fear Chimps more. C) "Unrealistic" is an invalid option. We are talking about time travel, undead hordes that never end, and the disembodied soul of a girl who was supposed to be dead a long time ago. D) This is freakin' Treyarch we're talking about here, don't expect them not to do things. E) A few months ago, an avatar item for Xbox users showed up in the shop; for 400 MS points you can get a Cosmic SIlverback costume for your avatar. There must be some significance to this. F) If I'm not mistaken, they're is a Treyarch Dev listed on this forum named "Cosmic Silverback". This may just be his/her favorite character, but it could mean something. -
What are these new "species" Treyarch says?
Dreamland_Grue replied to Shake-n-Bake5454's topic in Shangri-La
Possibilities: *Yetis that were seen in the later rounds of Dead Ops Arcade. Shangri-La is in the Himalayas after all. *Cosmic Silverback as a boss. *The monkeys you mentioned are different from the space monkeys because they steal power-ups, and appear to be a different species of monkey, so these may be the "new species". -
MOST EPIC GUNS TREYARCH SHOULD PUT INTO SHANGRI LA
Dreamland_Grue replied to Shake-n-Bake5454's topic in Shangri-La
Wunderwaffe DG-2 needs to be returned to the box, and AK-47 needs to be put in as well. I do not want the Scavenger in though, because it appears to be a close-quarters map. -
Traps, females, and lots of new zombie info!
Dreamland_Grue replied to jimbob200521's topic in Shangri-La
I'm hoping the Burning Zombie is a new enemy that is mixed into the horde, and that the Cosmic Silverback is the boss. Seriously, it's time for him to show if he ever will! But when you think about it, the monkeys must be mixed with zombies because they steal power-ups, and only zombies randomly drop them. Also, when they showed the monkeys there were no changes in lighting or fog, which has always been there with hellround enemies (Hounds, Space Monkeys, Thief). -
While Shangri-La is (problably) fictional, I still think there could be a real-life entrance to Inner-Earth that is in the Himalayas.
-
Nuketown zombies? Sounds fun, but very out of place.
-
I think there is already a thread for this, but IDK. Don't forget the spike trap, water slide, and minecarts.

Only time will tell....

Dreamland_Grue replied to jimbob200521's topic in Shangri-La
The monkeys CAN'T be their own round because only normal zombies steal perks. I have my bets on a Cosmic Silverback boss round. -
I do believe in Russian cosmonaut zombie gorillas, I do believe in Russian cosmonaut zombie gorillas....

What wonder weapons/grenades will be in Shangri-La?
Dreamland_Grue replied to Phoenix's topic in Shangri-La
I really hope that your eyesight is bad, because this is a close quarters map form the looks of it - it would be a shame if the most powerful gun was the most long ranged. Anyway, the Ray Gun comes with all maps, so we will be seeing it for sure. I'm hoping/expecting for the Wunderwaffe DG-2, Freeze Ray, and Monkey Bombs. -
I think that will just be a zombie variant, like creepy crawlers, and not a boss. If there is a boss, it better be the Cosmic Silverback.

Is it time for our encounter with the Silverback?
Dreamland_Grue replied to RedDeadRiot's topic in Shangri-La
Everyone calm down! I do suppose that Mr. Silverback would be a logical boss for this new map, and I really hope he is included (as with Yetis). I think that the flaming zombie is just a new zombie variant that explodes or something, but not a boss. -
Notice the flaming zombie. New boss? Addition of the cut Candolier perk? Something else?
-
First there Were Nagas.... Now Yetis! [UPDATED LINKS]
Dreamland_Grue replied to Dreamland_Grue's topic in Shangri-La
Yeah, Uncharted really screwed their Yetis. I will actually be a little disappointed if there are no Yetis on the new map, because it is the perfect place to put them. They already appear briefly on DOA, so why not re-use the models here? -
The monkeys appear to just grab a powerup and run for it. But you can get the powerup back by killing the monkey. But while the monkey has the powerup, it changes like a slot machine. Clever, Treyarch, clever.
