Nuketown as Next Zombie Map? Not Impossible...
DeckchairsFTW replied to Pandaman5797's topic in Call Of The Dead
But in the background there is the huge tower that they'd drop the A-Bombs from to test them, and i'm pretty sure that that was in Nevada, because that's houw Las Vegas became so big. People would go there to watch the explosions from a safe(ish) distance. It really was the city of lights... :P -
There's something a-lurking in them puddles...
DeckchairsFTW replied to DeckchairsFTW's topic in Ascension
It doesn't do it every time, it might take a while to get the right spot, and don't blink! Or you'll miss it :P -
I find out who Mike Curran is! Not Hockey Player
DeckchairsFTW replied to Trezombz's topic in Call Of The Dead
I'm still not convinced about the Flags to be honest, why would a firing range have a start point half way through one of the buildings, and i'm pretty sure it would have been operated on a verbal basis i.e. GOGOGO!!, or a 'Go when you're ready and i'll start the stopwach' sort of thing, not a small flag -
Still my favourite type of game , but to be honest, it's the only type of game i'm really into. I did have Fable III, but i'm really not into fantasy games. I also had the Forza games, but get bored of them every so often. The only thing i don't like about the COD series is that the IW made games don't have long enough campaigns, although the Treyarch ones were the right sort of length, BO was still slightly short, but WAW was a really good length. So no, i'm not too bored of FPS games, yet.

CCCP wall by PHD Flopper in MP Map Launch
DeckchairsFTW replied to matryoshkabomber's topic in Ascension
It could just be that it's because it's in Russia/ USSR/ CCCP, just like Ascension. They most likely used some of the same textures for Ascension that were on launch. Nice find anyway :) -
I did read somewhere a while ago that all the BO game engine is, is an upgraded version of the MW2 one, which was itself an upgraded version of the WAW one, which was an upgraded COD4 one. Correct me if i'm wrong, but maybe if they were to make an entire new zombies game, surely they would want to use a completely different, custom game engine.

Who do you think had the worst death in the cod series?
DeckchairsFTW replied to Hanz_123's topic in Black Ops
Every time anyone cool dies in COD Pvt Allen (everyone forgets him ) Ghost Roach Reznov Dimitri Making me think Price had died  Woods and all the others. Every time one of the cool people die i swear at the TV for a while... And then having to play through it again on MW2 to get the Veteran Achievements was annoying, i had to see Allen, Roach and Ghost all die again :( -
Viva la Hardcore Mode!! (The Tanks aren't there )

Well Shi No Numa translated into Japanese is 'Swamp of Death' or something along those lines, and as far as i know, Japanese isn't spoken in Russia/ Siberia.

Sooo, in ascension, there are several places with big green puddle things. Well, i was playing around at the end of a round waiting for people to finish buying back perks and stuff, when i dolphin dived into the puddle near the Stamin-Up Lander, and for a split second, the screen flashed black with some white in it. I was wondering if there is some sort of hidden picture when you dolphin dive into the puddles, that you can only see if you use a capture card and pause it at that specific moment. Or it could just be a glitch where you can see out of the map (although it is Beige underneath). Would someone be able to get this on a capture card by any chance? I still havent got one yet... There might be something in it, you never know... DeckchairsFTW

How can Tunguska have happened in Shi No Numa? SNN is in Japan, and Tunguska happened in TUNGUSKA, that's why it was called the Tunguska event.

Well they do know what the general layout of the buildings is, but just not the insides of them: http://www.dreamlandresort.com/

It could also be in something known as 'Tap Code' 1 2 3 4 5 1 A B C D E 2 F G H I J 3 L M N O P 4 Q R S T U 5 V W X Y Z Each number correlates to one of the numbers on that square. Say the number of lights turned on in each row or column, then from each pair you get a letter. I would test this out, but i can't get on my xbox right now to have a look at the lights.

'Death ray' reminded me of this: viewtopic.php?f=53&t=6956&hilit=real+ray+gun and the Shiva star, mentioned within that ^: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva_Star

I think snipers should really be SNIPING, the clue is in the name really. They're meant to fire from a distance, that's why sniper rifles have scopes on them. And as BTD said, when do you see people storming buildings in real life with a sniper rifle. Snipers are for covering fire, not leading the bloody charge of the light brigade. But then it is a game. PS: I have to say, i think Quick Scoping is a bit of a cop out, and goes against what sniping is all about. PPS: No-one bother neg-brainsing this post, its just an opinion...

Symbol Found On Ascension (Needed Research)
DeckchairsFTW replied to Whenwherewhy?'s topic in Ascension
It's a different version of the symbol found on Launch in several places. The only difference is that they've edited in a skull on the bottom. Hope this helps... Edit: I've just been looking on google, and have found a similar logo, although it is a really bad shot of a small lapel pin with it on. -
I find out who Mike Curran is! Not Hockey Player
DeckchairsFTW replied to Trezombz's topic in Call Of The Dead
Yeah, apparently there's a designer at Treyarch called Mike Curran, as he said ^. But it seems he also put his name on several things such as books on several of the maps like nuketown -

Nice idea, i'd buy it. But, (there's always a but....) i'm just guessing here, correct me if i'm wrong, but surely a Zombie map takes a lot more processing power than the average online map what with the easter eggs and whatnot. So 18 might be a huge ask. But then again (a good but this time!) if there is no campaign then it would surely free up some space. Forgive me if it sounds like i'm talking out of my arse, it's really late, i'm really tired, and really not sure if a Zombie map does use more processing power than an Mp one, it's just my guess. PC Nerds, help! Deckchairs FTW PS: +1 [brains]
