  1. Unless this changes from a "flame syndicate" thread and gets put back on the correct topic I'll have to lock it, Syndicate is a good guy who has done some good stuff for this forum. Anyway, I'd love to see a map with Geoff, Gus, Burnie and Gav from Rooster Teeth
  2. Because anyone can do that, the person is probably just linking to communities they like or something.
  3. Yes, it was to fix modded lobbies
  4. Weapon looks futuristic to me. Also, yesterdays image is an in-game screenshot, you can tell from the aliasing on the quadrotor.
  5. I was honestly just about to post about the prototype thing, I'd give you brains if I wasn't on the new layout.
  6. It's some brazillian youtuber, ignore them.
  7. Alpha is talking about this, but like he said, it's currently not playing.
  8. The II is very nice when it's not in packaging
  9. Here's a pre-order card from Target. Source: http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/122/1223 ... ium=social
  10. I've created this thread to explain what relation TACITUS has to Call of Duty and debunk some common misconceptions. So, the word TACITUS IS related to Call of Duty, but it also means several different things. Like: A historian A blog A data collection business A College Project But none of those things are the TACITUS that relates to Call of Duty The TACITUS that relates to Call of Duty appears to be a future weapons manufacturer it is COMPLETELY fictional, it does not exist in the real world, it was created for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. There's a lot of common misconceptions of what TACITUS means, let's go through them and explain why they are not related. www.tacitus.com This was a major misconception, a dead businesses website relaunches the day after the Call of Duty viral launches! The tacitus word is related to Call of Duty so this must be too right? Nope. This website belongs to a man named Howard Coale, this man has owned this domain since 1999 and was put to use for his company which happened to be named Tacitus in 2004. I can see why there was a little bit of confusion about this, I was convinced at first that this was related, but let me explain why. The first essential evidence is that Howard himself update tacitus.com to say they were not related to Black Ops 2, the update has since been removed. Before anyone comments saying "They obviously removed it because it's related to black ops 2" no, they removed it because the owner of the site received a lot of emails asking what the message meant from rabid call of duty fans. FPS Russia our main source of information for the first two days of the viral said that the Call of Duty viral had NOTHING to do with this site. This site belongs to a defunct company that is now attempting to relaunch after the large amount of traffic the site received because of the promotion from the CoD fanbase. www.tacitusproject.com This was the next big misconception, this is pretty easy to solve, it was registered the same day as the website was found, activision would have registered in advance and would have registered it with markmonitor, this was not. Also it now leads to this very website, for some unknown reason (Staff literally have no idea why it re-directs here but it does)
  11. That cover is pretty real, the image of the soldier on the ground has never been shown on that angle, it's just a pre-order case that the store themselves have made, but the art underneath the Xbox 360 logo at the top is very legit.
  12. Leads to May 2nd, the same day as the posters that were shown in gamestops, this site is probably advertising pre-orders, the game probably won't even be in a stable beta stage yet and if they did one I'm guessing you would have to be an elite subscriber to access it.
  13. Like I said, it's still under development, colours will be the next thing we work on
  14. We're going to allow multiple threads about update 3 until the server problems get fixed, after that all the posts will be merged into the official thread. :)
  15. A new host is coming...
  16. Expect a lot of traffic leading to the site slowing down. www.tacitusproject.com now redirects to here, which is pretty funny Thanks whoever owns the domain! (None of the staff know who owns the domain or why they've redirected here.)
  17. CHECK THE THREAD BELOW FOR CRYPTIC EMAILS viewtopic.php?f=115&t=21922 With all the discussion of the images appearing on callofduty.com I thought it might be fun to reveal some cryptic images of the new forum layout every single day until May 1st (the reveal of black ops 2) and see if you guys can guess what they are/mean. PLEASE NOTE: The forum theme is still in its very early stages, I know some of you guys got to see it when we released it a little too early and that wasn't ready to release, we've changed it a lot since then but it still needs a lot of work done to it, please do not judge it just yet. Day 1: Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6
  18. They can't be hidden that well :S http://whois.domaintools.com/gknova6.com http://whois.domaintools.com/callofduty.com And here's a list of every single domain http://who.is/nameserver/ns2.activision.com/
  19. Thats not entirely true, no one knows who owns it, the registrar is FastDomain Inc. For all you know its owned by EA and not Activision. I believe the same thing happened with GKNova6. The possibility that its being setup for something soon is possible, The fact that its being directed to callofduty.com kind of says something but anything is possible at this point. GKNOVA6 was registered by markmonitor like every other Activision domain, this one would be the same.
