  1. Do you think Dr Monty created not only the Gobblegum and Perks, but also PaP (ie, the old west blacksmith)? I see Monty as some sort of business person who mines and collects 115 to sell products (perks + machines, gum, etc) to make gobs of money. And he/she harvests 115 across dimensions, and sells his/her products across dimensions too to anyone who will buy them. Monty's need for 115 is one of the reason's it's scarce, and puts him in competition for it with Group 935 and others. I made this paintjob with Monty's inventions on it, but I might have been overestimating Monty's skills... https://www.reddit.com/r/CODZombies/comments/41grmu/dr_monty_themed_paintjob_for_the_argus/
  2. That second clip shows the infamous invisible barrel barrier. It was there in WaW too.
  3. I found one location too. Not sure what to make of it. It's not a range finder for sure. It's not a lighting glitch, I don't think, because of how it behaves in game. It seems very deliberate.
  4. Well it turns out the graphics in zombies are pretty great! I was worried for nothing.
  5. Wait! So Treyarch actually used this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0nURvzwMhk "The Formless One Will Be Their Downfall" Holy cow. I wonder if Treyarch actually read this.
  6. I just wanted to point out some inspiration/connections with the 1930's Shadow radio series and comic books. Maybe the OP can be updated with some of this info. Lots of similarities including the time period, the setting, the style, the name, etc. One thing I noticed today was the opening shot of the Alec Baldwin Shadow movie. Look familiar? There's even the elevated train (ie, Chicago). In the radio series, the Shadow was played by none other than Orson Welles. And based on the trailers so far, the quote "who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows" plays right into the Shadow Man and his all-knowing narration and the murderous evil in our 4 character's hearts. The theme music was Camille Saint-Saëns' Le Rouet d'Omphale ("Omphale's Spinning Wheel", composed in 1872). Maybe it will show up in game. At the end of each episode, The Shadow reminded listeners, "The weed of crime bears bitter fruit. Crime does not pay.... The Shadow knows!" Then there is this episode from 1939, which deals with a time machine, and the user can go back to any point in time in the last 24 hours: https://youtu.be/sDTquiIB3vU?t=9m50s
  7. So far I'm thinking the BO3 beta is like AW and BO2, which took some getting used to. To me BO3 is more a sequel to BO2 than it is to Ghosts or AW. Those both added lots of options, customization, speed, and things like exo suits. This is more traditional and refiined. I think their goal is more balance and competition, instead of unfair but fun. So it's a step back on movement from AW, but I love that I can just move over obstacles and do a modest double jump and just get around the map faster and easier. It took me a while to get used to AW MP, which I now really love. Might be the same thing here. But this is just a beta so they are leaving lots of stuff out: some weapons, lots of attachments, perks, game modes, theater mode and private matches and training, specialities, the whole GunSmith customization, kill streaks, etc. They've got 2 months to polish it all too. I think also it's fun playing some of the other game modes. Domination was way more fun last night that TDM. Hardpoint was crazy great, and I'd like to try out Search and Destroy too. They will be adding another mode that everyone loves later in the beta, where you escort a robot around the map - it's like a mobile capture point that brings the chaos to one place. The specialists are just a fancy way to pick your special ability. I like those abilities a lot, mixes things up. But I hope they add to it somehow. I'm sure they will have game modes with no specialies, just like AW has no exo game modes. I do hope they bring back the 3 best features from AW MP. The Firing Range where you can test your loadout instantly while in Create a Class. The attachments and perks you can add to your Scorestreaks. And all the character customization, like clothes, hats, armor, equipment, etc, but I bet they don't this one. Overall it's good, not great, but I'm putting my faith in Treyarch. There is also lots of other stuff to see where Campaign, MP, and Zombies will have a seemless overlap, and a customizable Safehouse that is your place, and your friends can jump into, and gets you around the different modes and shows what you've complished. More details to come there. I'm positive zombies will be awesome. And campaign will be great too, since it's 4 player coop. MP, I'll wait and see, but will keep playing the beta while it's around.
  8. Here's an updated link on Mega. Note, since it's 1GB zipped, I'll run through my free 10GB bandwidth for the month after just 10 downloads! Get it fast. https://mega.nz/#!LAJUVQiY!jLT_kw7D7QWwojPzFVP7uH0-MvzeCzAB4-6sEKQiM8E
  9. I totally agree that graphics don't make a game! I only had a Gamecube that entire console generation, and still own and play a Wii and a Wii U. But when you are talking about the most popular multi million dollar triple A FPS franchise, I would like it to be close graphically to other games on a console with an 8 year hardware upgrade over the last console. If you are watching Xbox at Gamescon live now, you can see what I mean about graphics. Graphics help set the mood and create environmental buy-in, which is really important in zombies for sure. I am holding judgement though till we play it on the consoles, going from past experience of bullshots, beta trailers, and failed promises. The real test for me is playing a current game for a while, then going back and playing an older game to see how it feels. That's when I notice a real difference.
  10. I agree Richtofen looks great in the still screenshot they provided. But we haven't seen Giant gameplay or that in motion yet. Compared to the Shadows of Evil characters, Richtofen looks way better, which is puzzling that those 4 new characters don't look as good, and look more like BO2 quality.
  11. Is anyone else disappointed in the graphics shown thus far in gameplay clips (zomibes or multiplayer)? They just don't seem to be much more improved over last gen consoles. To me the jump from WaW (360) to BO2 (One) is way bigger than BO2 (360) to BO3 (One). Here's 1080p (though 30fps) gameplay of BO3 multiplayer. https://youtu.be/5ociYeI-cEE?t=44s And while the one in game screenshot of Richtofen in The Giant looked good, the gameplay of Shadows of Evil didn't seem that much improved. Maybe we'll just have to wait to see it in action on our own consoles/PC to judge, but so far I'm not impressed.
  12. I got my Jug edition from Amazon about 5 minutes after it was announced. The first time I ordered a special edition of any kind for any game (except adding on a digitial season pass for some games).
  13. This is great and brings up lots of my thoughts on Lovecraft and CoD Zombies, and how the Zombie's universe is so tied to ideas like this, and Evil Dead/Necronomicon, which are also heavily influenced by Lovecraft. We've already seen a huge connection to the Evil Dead movies. I'm going to quote a bunch of Wikipedia here since it's easy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_Dead_(franchise)#Within_the_Woods And note some of Lovecraft's themes, which tie directly to zombies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovecraftian_horror#Themes_of_Lovecraftian_horror So you can see how these themes are all over zombies, like endless loops, no escape, hopelessness, unanswered questions, insanity like Richtofen, Sam's lineage, etc. I could go on and on about this but this is a start. It's like with Shadows of Evil they are bringing Lovecraft's less obviou influences to the forefront, which I love.
  14. They look way too real to be related! In addition to the stuff below they are listed on Google Maps, and other thrid party biz sites. Started online presence in April 2012. http://www.coalesce.com/ https://twitter.com/coalescecorp https://www.facebook.com/pages/Coalesce-Corporation/248687395234343 https://www.linkedin.com/company/coalesce-corporation
  15. Kind of off topic, but this really reminds of me of the Nazis and Hydra from the Marvel Cinematic Universe trying to recreate the Super Soldier Serum used to turn Steve Rogers into Captain America. Never really noticed, even though I'm a huge Marvel comic fan and a huge Treyarch COD/Zombies fan. Cx Funny I couldn't stop thinking of our zombies when watching the first Captain America movie. The nazi wonder weapons and all.
  16. Thanks Stop, you too! I hope this might help out some day and thought the forum was a good place to archive the info.
  17. Check out this method to take a long base-10 number, run it through a formula, and create a black and white 106x17 pixel image! It's called the Tupper's Self-Referential Formula. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupper's_self-referential_formula So if we are every playing a future Treyarch zombie map and we see clips of paper laying around that just have a 543-digit integer on it, then we know we can run it through a formula to reveal an image! Example 1: n=10972249630976314209007504532033134949682086639198171874178386489416721212125763915435428634919871166306043061044372149862503608116825035242203771489961723271194035787338485934044510302195667783070693718545221897410050191506550799292424771369239643895773826749855239799677873092167849216646372880455565320 makes an image that has the text "The Cake is a Lie". Example 2: N=6064344935827571835614778444061589919313891311 makes an image of a smiley face. And there are variations of this formula so that you can really have any length integer make an image of any height and width. I couldn't find an online solver but here is one in JS that you can modify in a pinch: http://www.petervis.com/mathematics/tuppers_self-referential_formula/Plot_Tuppers_Self-Referential_Formula.html And a Mathematica download: http://mathworld.wolfram.com/TuppersSelf-ReferentialFormula.html
  18. That's what I think too based on the helicopter and the soldier's gear and terrain, I'd say it's Iraq war(s) time period and PTSD and the therapy involved in that. Although it could span multiple time periods like BO2 did.
  19. This guy! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilbert_du_Motier,_Marquis_de_Lafayette
  20. Wow good job you all! Especially Liz, can't believe you found it. How did you? The connection to Paris, and the Battle of Bunker Hill, is interesting. Check out this picture of the interior from the Hidden NJ site:
  21. Can anyone find where that historic, protected house is in real life? Maybe if we can find the history of it we can get a nenwhich can lead us somewhere else. I tried some searches but couldn't find it.
  22. Actually, that sign is for Green Acres local assistant program, which dedicates the land to permanent recreation and open space https://d1u1p2xjjiahg3.cloudfront.net/d02bd574-db3f-43ac-828d-ae6dc4db96fc.jpg Great find! How did you know that?? Guess the Twitter guy was wrong. So it's in New Jersey. Just another random Jimmy tweet?
  23. New tweet from Jimmy shows a boarded up house in the snow that has a sign on a fence with Green Acres Fencing, which is located in Colmar, Pennsylvania just north of Philly. (determined by a Twitter user). http://www.twitter.com/ZielinskiJimmy/status/572853895594000385 Who slept here? http://pic.twitter.com/w07Bf3zoH3
