I only found this recently, but here's the direct link to the advanced site-wide search that was mentioned. search.php It does seem this should at least be linked to in the header of every page to help avoid duplicate posts and find what you need easier.

I love the bank. I usually keep it maxed out at 250K. I rarely use it when solo, unless I'm in a pinch and need a couple K to get something, or if I go down and and need to restock perks. But where I do use it is when playing with some friends. Of my Xbox friends I'm the most dedicated zombies player. So when we get a 4 player co-op game going I can pull out 100K and give it to the others. Since our time is usually limited, it lets us get started quicker and lets them try out lots of guns and perks and map features right away. It's great for jumpstarting a co-op game, or doing an EE or achievement.

I think you have to pay for the booze, which I think is easier than going the TrampleSteam route. But yeah being good with the Giant makes it easier. I think I missed twice with the Giant on my attempt, so I wasted 2000, but still got it done.
-
Didn't mean to be cheeky! I really did do this the first time I tried to get the achievement. Get over 1000 by killing 5 zombies. Every 1000 booze purchase can make you more than 1000 if you line up the giant properly. 7 opportunities for points, with 5 booze purchases. Plus points when you release the giant. And you can place 6 total chalk drawings for 7000 points. Open the courthouse for 1250 and get 2000 points by placing the 6th chalk. I didn't open the candy shop or front door of saloon, which is 1250. Instead I took the barn tunnel route to the saloon roof and only opened the 750 chair to get booze when needed. The only other door is the ghost house for 1250. Then you only buy the PDW off the wall, go through the house, PaP and you are done!

I like that you referenced Kino as an existing explanation of time and space travel in zombies. While I don't think we will pop into previous maps, I do think this is a good explanation for how time travel can be used to explain things going on in Origins: yellow eyes, the robot, zeppelins popping in and out, electrical storms, weather changes, etc.

Great post PINNAZ. I also can't believe I posted about those Tesla coils before you, given your signature! To me these seem more like power going up into the sky from the ruins, creating a cloud vortex, instead of lightning coming down into it. Maybe the ruins allowed the creation of the first mystery box?

While we are talking theories, here's mine. First, I believe that someone or something is in control of the Aether on every map where zombies have attacked live players: Sam, Richtofen, Satan, Maxis so far. Second, I think the meaning of 'control' is more than they simply get to announce and have their voice herad when a player picks up a drop , but less than full control over every zombie's movement. Third, I believe Sam will be in control on Origins, and it will be explained, and Sam is in control. Maybe the Der Riese experiments caused a rift in time and for a few months robots and zombies popped in through rifts in space time over a WW1 battlefield, and then vanished and were destroyed, while Sam was in control, and then it ties up nicely with our existing timeline. Maybe the experiments caused a rift that created an alternate universe when Sam and the MPD were teleported back in time, and this new universe doesn't mesh with our current one. Maybe experiments by Maxis in WW1 caused time portal issues bringing stuff from the future and alternate universes into the battlefield, and maybe we as players close this rift at the end of Origins. So my theory is basically Sam is in control, and we will learn how and why. I don't think yellow is the default color.

And a small list of how to generate extra points. The first two are enough to PaP a weapon on round 1. -Chalk draw -Booze barriers from a distance -Snipe from a distance for permaperk
-
Here is my list for what the Time Bomb can do: -Double money with Galvanuckles in Bank -If lights on in Mansion, double perk drop at end of ghosts -Put down, open all doors, use, get points back -Put down to avoid death if camping, get perks back -Throw and use while person is down to revive -Throw and use if all bleed out to have them come back at end of round
-
I keep this list on my phone in case I need reminding. This is for use with the Candy. -Keep Mystery box in place -Move mystery box -Reroll mystery box -Change power up drop (even bank Z drop into ammo!) -Hold crawler -Smash zombies -Build buildable -Get a new turbine -Place 3 random chalks -Shoot while changing power up to make it stick

I'm now thinking this is included on purpose, and not a glitch at all. I was playing Buried with Marlton today and picked up a nuke. He said: Here is the quote audio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Flwo72aVRsE&t=1345 The only way to do this is to have the giant start to change it then shoot him! Nice Treyarch!

Just to clarify I mentioned that in the opening post, with a picture! I think it's significant. I love the theories about color, emotion, evil, and anger relating to eye color. Nice food for thought. I would like to point out that there are 2 voices at times. Like Samantha and the 'demonic announcer'. They say different things (drop pickups vs the box moving, for example) in WaW and BO. The announcer is also different in MotD, or when Richtofen is in control. So really we've heard 4 voices so far.

My bet is that the rifts in time and space along with the Tesla devices are causing constant weather changes and lightening.
-
That is what makes alternate timelines. I think there is a difference between 'alternate universe' and 'alternate timeline'. An alternate timeline can still fit in this same zombies universe. If someone is travelling back to WW1 and adding in things like giant robots, perks, etc, that could just ripple through and change the future, like in the Terminator series. But it's also possible that someone has still travelled back in time, and this battle is an isolated incent that never got reported on if everyone dies. Who knows maybe something wipes out much of the evidence too. I think we will have to wait and see the tack they take on this, and can't say for sure if it's an alternate universe or time travel or what.

Letters from the Field - Photos & Videos from Pre-Origins
yourmapper replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
Those look a lot like large Tesla coils. Connection to Wunderwaffe or Avogadro? -
It kind of looks like an alien, but I'm not sure about the idea that is a Vril. If it was, why glowing yellow eyes? Also, like Grill says, it doesn't seem to match the Vril description. There is this interesting image of the guy. Note the hollow, non-glowing eye sockets. Glow sometimes, no-glow other times! And it looks possible that his scalp could have been put back on with a new brain, but there's not really stitches or whatnot.

cant say that if you played previous maps my friend In previous maps they were controlled, almost all of them, but in Mob of the Dead, and this map I don't believe they are controlled Well even in Mob of the Dead they had red eyes, and there was a different male-sounding demonic announcer, etc. So maybe not in total control, but certainly had some influence on the map and/or zombies. I don't think the zombies in Mob behaved any differently than TranZit or Nacht.

I don't believe that the Vril Ya would need such a contraption. It's my understanding that oxygen is fit for them... but I may be wrong. Also, Vril Ya had wings. It's not to say that 3arc can't re imagine them, but that "thing" in the "big daddy" suit looks either like a traditional alien (race being some sort of Grey hybrid), or perhaps a "smart zombie" that was the failed product of early 115 testing. It kind of looks like an alien, but I'm not sure about the idea that is a Vril. If it was, why glowing yellow eyes? Also, like Grill says, it doesn't seem to match the Vril description.
-
That's an interesting thought, that the suited zombie is that special brainless one in the teaser trailer's hidden images. Their faces look similar. Maybe a better brain was put in, or it was put in that suit for some reason which protects it.
-
cant say that if you played previous maps my friend Yeah I don't think that's right. First, there is some significance to Yellow, Blue and Red eyes, and it's related to the controller's voiceovers. You may be able to argue that 'control' is not the best word, since maybe zombies just hunger for flesh and the person who is in the Aether is just nudging them, giving drops, giving box weapons, etc. Regardless of if it's control or not, when Sam is announcing things their eyes are yellow.
-
I thought Sam took control during WW2 (not after) when Maxis and Richtofen were messing around with teleportation? Maybe I'm way off here though. So every map chronologically until the Moon map (when was Moon?) takes place in or after 1945, even Nacht and Verrukt?
-
So... yellow eyes huh? Sam is in control? Does that mean there is some sort of time travel/rift involved? I can't think of another way to explain it. Even the robot has a yellow eye!

Been a lurker for over 3 years and a member for under 3, but just now doing an introduction. Hi. I've been playing zombies since the Nacht der Untoten unlockable map on WaW, then every other map as they have come out. Best thing to happen to co-op gaming in the last 5 years.

Good point.

+1. Suckerpunch may have just been one of the many influences on the map, as well movies like Hellboy and Iron Sky, and other games like the Bioshock series. It's a great move on Treyarch's part to have a dieselpunk influence on the map. It's an explanation for all the advanced technology during WW1 we'll most likely see. Plus, it let's them get away with putting big ass robots in Zombies. Yeah I agree with all this. Just typical dieselpunk elements taken from many movies and comics. Suckerpunch is just one of the better known most recent examples.
