A few days ago I posed a question to the CoDz Community: Is there someone behind the scenes that is controlling everything that we do not know? And if there is, what are their intentions? Today, I will lay out evidence indicating that this mystery man is none other than Dr. Maxis himself. Dr. Maxis is a very shady figure that no one knows a lot about. His intentions seem to be better than Richtofen's but we cannot be sure of that until the time comes. But there are many things that stand out to show that Maxis is not an innocent scientist who is trying "to save mankind" as he states in a message. With this post, I suggest that Dr. Maxis is a very evil man with malicious intentions that we can't even dream of understanding at this point. As you all know, this is the Nacht Der Untoten loading screen. This mystery man, whoever it is, has been around since the beginning. Of the characters that we know, Maxis fits that description. He was there when the zombies were made. He's been involved in their development and trying to create a massive, controllable undead army. Maxis has been around all the maps, working his ways and making sure what he wants done is complete. He did not just randomly appear in the Moon machines. He's been here this whole time. In this loading screen, we see him working on a project and also in a portal of sorts. And as we go throughout the next maps, he is still overseeing everything, as see in the Call of the Dead and Shangri-La loading screens. But loading screen theories aren't the reason that I came up with this very interesting theory, but in-game evidence suggests this also. This dark picture is the tower in TranZit after completing the Maxis side. As you can see, the orangish-red light shoots up the tower. This says that the color representing Maxis is an orangish-red color, the complete opposite of Richtofen's blue. Now why is this significant? I've begun to notice that red is appearing everywhere in the story, starting at Shangri-la. In Shangri-la, we had the first appearance of a red perk as monkeys would steal our power ups and run away with them. Red power ups also appear in Moon, but for the life of me I can't find a picture. We also had a red insta-kill that appears in TranZit. Maxis sends help to the heroes through red power ups. But FatedTitan! In Shangri-la and Moon, the red power ups hurt you and definitely aren't helpful! Why is the red insta kill helpful then? Great question! Let's answer it. In Black Ops, we are our original group of four going to help Richtofen complete his master plan. Maxis knows what Richtofen is trying to do and uses red power ups to be a detriment to the players. He doesn't want Samantha to not be in control of the zombies. As we turn to Black Ops 2 zombies, Samantha is no longer in control. Maxis uses his red power ups/perks to help the player because his goal is still the same...to stop Dr. Richtofen. He uses the new group to help him complete his plan to stop Richtofen. That is why he helps in Black Ops 2, but hurts in Black Ops. But FatedTitan! I get what you're saying, but there's an issue. Maxis is dead! He's only in electronics! He can't give out power ups or perks. He doesn't have that type of control! Another great question. Let's explore it. First, Maxis was shot in front of the MPD on Moon. The pyramid is powered by souls, meaning that Maxis' soul was absorbed into the device. Now where do these souls go? These souls are absorbed by the person in the device. That means that Maxis' soul was absorbed by Samantha. Samantha, being his daughter, gave him some power as well. Think of it as a split soul body. The best example of this that I can give is something like in Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, where Ling partners with Greed to share his body for power. So Samantha does still have control of the zombies, but Maxis is behind the scenes, telling his daughter what to do. This is why he can give out power ups and such. He has some control, but not all control. But there's more. When filling the containers during the Big Bang Theory Easter Egg, Samantha shouts many interesting quotes, such as -"You will never succeed in this, Edward!" -"The blackness will swallow your pride! Something far more terrible than you lies here!" -"Edward! You will tremble in fear! I'll slice you apart and expose your rotten innards so you will be judged for what you have become!" -"The earth's destruction will lie in your hands, Edward! Your fault!" http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Richto ... Transcript So what can we gather from these quotes? 1. Samantha knows Maxis' plans to destroy the earth if she loses power. 2. Something far more evil than Samantha lies there. Maxis is far more evil than Samantha and she would know this because of the time she has spent with him in her body. 3. Also, Samantha calls him Edward over and over again. What child calls an adult by their first name? It's extremely rare. But Dr. Maxis has always called him Edward. Maxis could be influencing her into what she says as well. As Richtofen gained control, he was still in Samantha's body. So there is a struggle for control within the body. Richtofen obviously has the most control, since as the souls switched bodies, he became the dominant soul, but Maxis is still present. This is why he can still communicate and give power ups to players. And now, let's look at Mob of the Dead. Now we all know that Alcatraz Island is set way back in the early 1940s(from what we know at this time). So Maxis is not in Samantha's body yet. So why are the mystery box, zombies eyes, and this tomahawk power up all red? I point you back to the beginning. As I stated at the beginning, Maxis has been in control the whole time. He was there when zombies were created. My guess is that Maxis was in control of the zombies before anyone was in a device. He was the one who trained them at Kino. He was the one who tried to create an undead army. It only makes sense that before anyone took control, he was in control. Now how he did this is beyond me. But this is what makes sense. He was in a position of power and continually was researching zombies. So if Alcatraz Island is in the 40s, as we suspect, perhaps the red mystery box light, the red eyes, and the red perks all point toward Maxis being in control of the zombies. But as all readers can guess right now, this is all a theory. No one can prove any of this without more information that would come out later in new maps. But let's stop here and take a new perspective on this. Let's say that all of this is correct. So what are his intentions? I think that without question, we can assume that Maxis' intentions are evil. In Moon, we hear Samantha scream, "The blackness will swallow your pride! Something far more terrible than you lies here!" He's is very evil, as this quote shows. But not only that, we can look at the TranZit quotes from the crazy man in the radio. He states: "You think you're so smart, huh? You think you can manipulate everybody into doing what you want but we know the truth!...you're calculated works and your sniffzler agents. You mean to destroy this planet and kill us all! We're not gonna help! No way no how! So yea...keep talking. But no one's gonna hear you cuz we destroyed everything...everything electronic starting with evil radio box thing!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65MwZL-wt9w 2:43 Many have thought that this is talking about Richtofen, but Maxis is the one who communicates through electronics, not Richtofen! So according to this radio, this man believes that Maxis has plans to destroy the planet and kill everyone! This just goes to show his intentions are very evil. This man could even be more evil than Dr. Richtofen! So if we want to find his intention, look in the previous quote. He wants to destroy the planet and kill everyone. But FatedTitan! If this is true, didn't he already accomplish this? Great question! You would think that this is true. He destroyed the planet by sending the rockets to earth to destroy the world and stop Richtofen's control of the zombies. But this character is saying this quote after the rockets have hit earth. So the world, in this sense, has already been destroyed. So what does the man mean? So this can't mean that he literally wants to destroy the world. Maxis must want something else. Maxis doesn't just want to destroy the world. He wants control of the zombies as well. He wants to be a god. And this goes back to an earlier point. Maxis is still in Samantha's body, but not with her soul. That means that there is a struggle occurring for power. Maxis and Richtofen fighting for control of Samantha's body. And this could be what we're trying to do with this trichotomous system. Whichever side we choose could give control to them. So in conclusion, Maxis is the man who is behind it all. He created the zombies and is the reason that we have the red glow in Mob of the Dead and the red power ups throughout maps. I didn't want to go into this too much, but perhaps the monkeys were sent by Maxis since they steal the power ups and they become red, but also explode in a red glow on Ascension. He's been here forever watching, making sure everything went according to his plans. Thanks for reading this and I would love your comments.

Ok everyone here is my official trailer analysis for the new Mob of the Dead trailer that has just released. Now, there were MANY things that we've already seen, so I just took the biggest things that I found in the trailer to put together. So here it goes! Here we have our view of Alcatraz Island, or Evil Island as it is also referred to as in the video. I couldn't start an analysis without this could I? Now this was something I found that I didn't quite understand. We all know how Treyarch works so what does this map mean? It just floated into the frame for a second. At first, I thought it was a world map, but after looking at it closer, it can't be that. Could this be a map of the island thrown in, or is there more to it? A picture from the docks once again. There's a red light from the mystery box that we still don't quite understand. Ok this is something I had to bring up. Zombies like this have been in all the trailers we've seen. They either have huge shards of glass all in them or are wrapped in barbed wire. What is the significance of this? Why did this happen to all the zombies? Our zombie boss falling after his death. I wanted to show this close up to dispel some rumors. This is NOT a warden. His badge just says Guard. So this is not our prison warden. This is what you look like when you are in Afterlife mode. I think this debunks the theory that "Him" is just a man in Afterlife mode, though they do both shoot electricity. You also move extremely fast. Another picture from within Afterlife mode. For those afraid of the fans, don't worry. If the trap is active, your character can crawl underneath them to get past. Here's a close up shot of the hellhound. Is this Fluffy? So the tomahawk is a power up, not a special grenade. This tomahawk can be thrown at zombies and it will boomerang back to the player. Here is an image of the tomahawk wrecking the zombies. What you can't see is that it goes through them, then comes back to the player. And here are the four characters on the plane. I have to wonder how hard it is to actually construct the plane, especially if it is just to get to PaP. Could it just be about grabbing parts like any other buildable? And the plane flies off into the clouds...well...at least to the bridge. Also. FLYING! We can fly! Hooray! Okay that's all I've got! What do y'all think?

People have played Mob of the Dead ahead of release?
FatedTitan replied to faction935's topic in Mob of the Dead
No idea about the #1 guy, but the other two are Activision testers. You can tell because of the ATVI. -
I'm glad they listened to our frustration on no Die Rise trailer. This was a great trailer!
-
I don't think CotD and Shangri-la have to be in any particular order. You just have to have both done. But I could be wrong. And seriously MMX? I figured you wouldn't be the one to question this haha.
-
A unique set of skills eh? Now THAT is interesting. What do y'all think this means? Will they each have something different that they specialize in, such as more damage with certain gun types and such?

Something that has been bugging me
FatedTitan replied to FatedTitan's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Without this thread I probably wouldn't be here. :3 Epic bump, Fated. BUT... it is Richtofen. DEAL WITH IT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I am sorry. Ahem... -
So as some have noticed, we will be having Grief -- Cellblock joining us with Uprising map pack. I'm guessing that means that one of the cell blocks will be our location for grief, but I also noticed that the hellhound is in the picture. So we know that this is the location of our fiery, furry friend. Now the question is, will it be CDC vs CIA again or do y'all think it will be a new group, such as Guards vs Prisoners?

Man rereading through this was a lot of fun! I still think there's more here though. Anyone got anything? Also, I decided in honor of Afterlife mode to raise this thread from the dead. -
MotD Behind the Scenes Trailer: Things You May Have Missed
FatedTitan replied to Naitrax's topic in Mob of the Dead
Who is the Avogadro? Never heard of him. But in all seriousness, the game never refers to him as Avogadro and only as "Him" so that's what we should go off of. -
Fair enough. I was referring to the boss as the warden because most on here have for now. Until it's proven that's not what he is, most are going to assume that's who it is.

MotD Date Found - 2/26/1932 UPDATED w/ Confusion
FatedTitan replied to bagel_'s topic in Mob of the Dead
While I'm still not sure on the date, I don't believe this is correct. Remember that these men have been at Alcatraz for years. This could have originally been an escape plan to just get off the island in general. Also, another reason I can't see this being correct is that we have a hellhound in the map. Hellhounds weren't born until the Fluffy incident, which happened in the 40s. -
It's probably because you were looking at the Buddha. That probably triggered the quote. Normally there are hints in the character's dialogues that tell about the easter egg.

Now, I understand the concept of him being a bigger zombie and being a boss of sorts, but there is something in the trailer that I haven't seen discussed that I think should. Listen to 5:05 in this video: Now, as you'll see, they kill the Warden and he clearly says "Why did you hurt me?" Why is the Warden different than other zombies in the sense that he communicates with us? George Romero was not a zombie. He had been infused with 115, yes, but he was clearly not zombified. This is clearly a zombie, but he still thinks and is intelligent. What is the significance of his sense of being? And by that I mean, he communicates and knows what is happening around him, unlike normal zombies who just scream and run and grunt "Sam" every now and then. Any thoughts?

Mob of the Dead Discussion/ Trailer Analysis

He awakens.... -
Can we be friends?

I think I've missed what you're trying to say haha.

To jinro, I don't think that's correct, but it's a good thought. Interesting, but I don't think I fully agree with it. Still a good thought though! Now to Mocking. While I do not believe that it is Samuel, your idea made me think of what if it was him. Now I see how it this mystery man could be him and it kind of does fit into the silhouette. Now what really brought me to start wondering is a quote from Richtofen and the Die Rise cutscene. The quote from Richtofen is in Kino and he says "A gift from Sam? But why?" What if the entire time he wasn't speaking of Samantha, but of Samuel. Since, in this scenario, Samuel would have created the zombies, he may consider that the gifts are from him. And when we look at the cut scene below, Samuel says "They'd kill me if they know what I did." Why would any character kill someone because they were part of a cult that ate zombies? But what if they found out that he created the zombies that started this whole craziness? That would be something that would get people angry. So while I don't think it's Samuel, it could be very interesting. But if it was him, I don't know how evil his intentions are. As you stated earlier, I don't think we can actually figure out who this man is right now. But a good question is "What are his intentions?"
-
I have no idea Scoldron. Good question. If this is right, I'd hope that would be answered. Also, what do you mean I blackened your Fluffy thread?

For the entire zombie story, we have been searching and attempting to find who was behind the zombies. We have come to realize that the Nazis created them as an army of super soldiers to defeat the Allies in WWII. But then it gets down to the real question. Who's behind it all? We never actually find out who is the person that created the first zombies. And even though we have Richtofen, who has obviously gone a little mad, and Maxis, who has his own secret intentions that some consider evil, I have come to believe that they are not the one's we should be worried about. I fear that there is a far greater evil ahead, and I'm not talking about Satan. We've seen this man only in the shadows. No one knows who he is. All we know is that he has had some involvement in the creation and deployment/escape of the zombies. I won't try to convince you that I know who this man is, because I believe the devs don't want us to know...at least not yet. If it is a character we've met already, I'd have to lean towards it being Maxis, but we really don't know at this point. But this mystery man has been ever present throughout our story. His origins start with this loading screen of Nacht Der Untoten. But his legacy doesn't end there. He appears many other times as well! Now some believe this to be Richtofen or Reznov or some other character. But if it was Richtofen, as is seen in the iOS version of Zombies, then why not just show him in the console version. This is a mystery man, perhaps our same mystery man from before. We really can't be 100% sure. But there's more! Now many have assumed that the man on the Ascension loading screen is Gersche, but I don't believe so. This man is eerily similar to our friend from Nacht Der Untoten's loading screen. He is in a position of control at the Ascension facility and seems to be designing plans for something with rockets, possibly the rockets from Moon. Also, look in the background of where he is working. That's not on Ascension. So if he is at Ascension working on something, then what is it? Also noticed in the right pane he is in a portal of some sort. Some say that this is Gersche coming out of the Gersche device or a reference to players freeing him from Aether using the Gersche. While these are possible, I see it just like the man walking out of the portal on Nacht's loading screen. Then there are the Call of the Dead and Shangri-la loading screens. Many say that the page rip is there because the loading screens are made to look like a comic book and the pages were ripped on the Call of the Dead screen to show that it took place before Shangri-la, but after Ascension. It also gave us a hint toward the next map. And they would be right in that assumption. But I think there is more. If you notice, this mystery man's face is looking down over Call of the Dead and Shangri-la, like he is a god-like figure looking out over the players, perhaps make sure that they do what he wants them to do. He seems to always be in a position of power when he shows up. Could the whole story be a ploy for this man's evil schemes? This reminds me of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. In this series, there is a character called Father who is in control of basically everything. He has an evil plan to become immortal and rid the planet of lesser humans. This man lets others do his bidding for him while he watches over everything that happens. He's omnipotent in a way that he watches everything and knows these different characters inside and out. I bring this up because that's what it seems like this mystery man is doing. He's in charge of everything and is calmly sitting back letting the players do his bidding for him. And it doesn't end there. And as we all know, there is an outline on the right side of the loading screen cut into the paper of this mystery man. This man has to be in some higher division of power. This image shows that not only did he survive the nukes of Earth, he's still in a position of power. He's still watching the players. Maxis and Richtofen both seem to just be pawns in his scheme. Now I want you to think with me for a second. We know Richtofen is evil. Many suspect that Maxis also has some evil intentions. So if these two men are just pawns to this mystery man, then who knows the gravity of evil that this man has within himself? It must be enormous! And now look at this final image. That's right. Mob of the Dead. Now the thing I want to point out in this picture are the red eyes on the zombies. Many have suspected that they are free and just doing whatever they want. I believe differently. We have to realize something. Zombies were around before Sam got into the device. Zombies were around before Richtofen took over. At that point, who was in control of them? Were they free as people have suggested? Or was there someone in control? I believe that someone had a control over these zombies from the get go and that is none other than our mystery man. He's behind the zombies. He created them. He is their Father. Sam's interference gave her control, but only partial. He was still there looking to make sure his plans were met. With Richtofen in control, the same thing occurred. He's still there watching over and making sure his end goals are met. Now I say all of this to bring us to the obvious question one has to draw from all of this. Who is this Mystery Man? I wish I could tell you I had an answer, but I don't. But what I do know is that if he is as I've described above, then Richtofen is the least of our worries.
