So we all know that Die Rise is located in China, but we don't exactly know where. I propose that Die Rise is not even located on the ground of China, but in the air. Yes, I am suggesting that Die Rise is a floating city, not on water, but in the air. In this post I will give my reasoning and background. In-Game Analysis First let's look at a few pictures. There are pictures I found on a simple Google search, but going into a match and looking at the sky gives a shocking reality that while it is daytime out, the stars, moon, and asteroids can be seen cleary in the sky. And these things do not seem to be what I look up to in the night sky, and yes, I do live in an area where I can see stars. This is an extremely clear sky, but what is more startling are the asteroids that are shockingly close to where you are slaying the undead. The are floating right above our heads it seems. Also, not shown in the above pictures but what can also be found in the map, there is no floor in Die Rise. Yes, if you jump off the buildings into the abyss, you will hit SOMETHING and die, but we never see ground. And by the time we hit whatever we hit, the buildings have disappeared into the clouds by then. Which leads me to my next point. There are clouds under the buildings. This isn't just a smoke dust cloud. These are actual fog-like clouds that surround the area. Could this city be floating amongst the clouds? Well, shockingly enough, there is actually something supporting this outside the game as well. Background in Reality In China, there were rumors of a floating city that was seen by spectators near Huanshan City. Many claim this to be the result of Fata Morgana, which is basically a superior mirage. This mirage is seen miles away, sometimes hundreds of miles away. This is a reflection off the ocean and can be quite astounding. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fata_Morgana_(mirage) The problem with this is that Fata Morgana's are very blurry. They are recognizable, but blurry to the point that people can tell it is not real. But this city was shockingly clear. One could not only see a tree and its branches, but the tree behind it and its branches. Spectators could see the entire city in amazing clarity. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... China.html http://www.unexplainable.net/simply-une ... owhere.php Many people still claim that this is just a very strong Fata Morgana, but normally people can recognize the cityline that they are seeing. In this case, the city was not recognizable at all. In fact, the city seen does not match any known cities in the area. Implications So, could this be what the developers intended Die Rise to be stationed at? I believe so. A whole city lifted into the air. Just like in the video and articles and pictures, Die Rise is surrounded in a fog throughout its lower areas. But why does this matter? I have argued against Tac's beliefs that Shangri-la is on Mars for as long as I can remember, and I still have my doubts, don't you worry about that. But I believe that if this is true. If Die Rise is floating in the air as a complete city, then it supports Shangri-la being on Mars. Why do I say this? The biggest problem that most of us have with Shangri-la being on Mars is the obvious question of how does an entire civilization go to Mars in tact. If we have a floating city that could end up landing in a new location, why couldn't Shangri-la do the same? Do we really believe that a rocket made a city float? I think not. Now, this still doesnt' answer where the waterfall's water source is or anything like it, but it does answer how an entire civilization could go from one planet to another. It floated. Oh man something just came to me! More Stuff We all know what this is. This is the Moon loading screen. This has been looked at so much, but there is something that I think we may have been wrong about. Many have stated that the astronauts are Tank and the gang, but that can't be right. They teleported from Earth. They weren't there already. But this could be some others we've heard, such as Richtofen and his pals, such as Shusta and Groph. Perhaps they traveled back to Moon to find the temple that Richtofen had telelported to before. But look at the top image. The temple that is floating through space. For years we've assumed that this is just another floating temple, perhaps one from the Shangri-la loading screen. I propose that this isn't just another temple. This is, in fact, the temple from Shangri-la heading toward Mars. Conclusion In conclusion, Die Rise could be this floating city in China that has been seen many times before. That's why we never seen ground, but only a load of fog. This is why we feel that the sky is telling us we're in space and not on earth. We're high in the air. So thanks for reading and perhaps more of you have stuff to say. Let me know what you think or if you have more to add!

I've always enjoyed the concept of map exclusive wonder weapons, though I do feel they should include them in two maps at least so they aren't so alone. But perks are a different thing. I believe that perks should not be mutually exclusive to one map. What was the point in it? It's a waste of development time it seems. So why does it seem that we are beginning to get map exclusive perks in Black Ops 2?

Welcome to the forum! We won't critique ya too bad ;)

At the end of the day, yes, this is just a game. BUT the devs go to great lengths to hide little things in these maps. Things are there for a reason. I have seen over analyzing on this site and I can assure you that this is the farthest thing from over analyzing. This is what the devs wants. Discussion and theorizing.

Theory, and why guns are canon to the storyline.
FatedTitan replied to Vyhl's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Welcome to the site! On the topic of your post, I disagree that guns are canon. Guns aren't even canon in the campaign missions. This is why you'll see the 74U in the missions from the 60s even though it hadn't been created yet. Also, the guns being used are more or less just the guns that are already in the game for multiplayer and stuff. There are a few exceptions obviously, but it mostly runs true. This is why you see Cold War weapons throughout Black Ops, even though we jump to the future a ton. Why would CotD characters use Cold War weapons when it takes place in the future? It doesn't make sense. -
Who's singing the secret song? I don't know about you guys, but I'll be highly disappointed if I hear Carry On. If it's an A7X song, okay. But not Carry On. We know that song already. Whatever it is, I sure hope it's awesome.

Subliminal Image is "Solitary Confinement 14"
FatedTitan replied to Grupo935's topic in Mob of the Dead
The devs visited Alcatraz so they could get story info and everything. It's not too far from their offices...well. It's not in China! Haha. They were getting the tour and probably brought it along to get that picture. Also, the bears are more or less for the song. We had teddy bears in Die Rise and TranZit even though Samantha wasn't in control. -

Mob of the Dead Trailer Analysis! NOW WITH "MAKING OF" VIDEO
FatedTitan replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Mob of the Dead
Bagel I believe the tower in the first image is the tower at the bottom of your second image, not the water tower. Also, who is Jason Mundell? -
Because it's a remake of Firing Range.

Mob of the Dead Trailer Analysis! NOW WITH "MAKING OF" VIDEO
FatedTitan replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Mob of the Dead
Very informative. Perhaps this is another movie like CotD? I have no idea. From face value, I have to wonder who the heck that guy talking about it is and what this has to do with the story. But I remember we said the same thing when the CotD trailer released and it tied in mighty good. I believe they'll be fine. -
At the end of the day, whether you believe it is stupid or not, it's the site rule and we should abide by it. Period. End of story. No debate. There are PLENTY of other sites you can go to if you want to discuss leaks. CoDz is not the place to do it.
-
Guys I love discussion and I love activity on the forums, but let's watch our leaks. I know everyone wants to talk about the pictures and the name of the map, but forum rules state that we cannot have any Leaks on our site, even if there's a picture that is circulating. Talk about it with your friends, family, dogs, cats, hamsters, zombies, whoever. But we have to keep it clean on here. We have a reputation of no leaks and that does not exclude new people or veterans. No leaks guys. Period. No talk of the name of the map, where it's at, who's in it, or anything. Until Treyarch gives us an official announcement, which could come as early as tomorrow I believe, we need to stop posting topics about it. Go talk about it on the Activision forums. Thanks guys. I love details as much as the next guy, but we have to uphold our reputation and the requests of the site founders. Thanks for understanding and go kill zombies!

Hey Rainbow! Glad to have you back! Things are going pretty solid. Glad to have a vet back on the site!

It is, but Treyarch has also spelled it Der Reise in advertisements. They have purposely made is an interchangeable word.

His picture was the first picture I gave. And thanks for the kind words, but I don't think this belongs in the Asylum. I didn't put enough effort in to warrant that.

As always, great work Shooter.

Sorry about that I just saw him in the quote with the pictures.

Also, I forgot to add this. The right hand of God can symbolize power or salvation. Now look at what we've been doing. We have two different sides, Maxis and Richtofen, telling us what to do. Richtofen wants power and control. Maxis claims to want to save mankind, aka salvation.
