Lol, your theory confuses me a bit. Richtofen took the gang to Shangri La and CotD before Moon because he needed the Golden Rod and Focusing Stone (Vril Device) to enact his plan during Moon. How would it ever be possible that the events of Moon happen if Richtofen and the gang didn't first go to SL and CotD to get the pieces needed. Or are you saying these events happened historically, or what? Just a word of advice, you seem to be basing when we visit maps and events that occur on both the time travelers timeline, and a historical timeline. Perhaps that what is confusing me about this. Think about it this way. People question how Call of the Dead occurred in 2010-2011 or whatever when Earth was bombed in the 1960's, but when you follow the time travelers timeline (Richtofen), a paradox would not occur as we visit CotD before Moon (in term of the time travelers timeline and not historically). See what I'm saying? We cant follow a historical timeline with Zombies. If we could, we would have visited Ascension before Kino Der Toten, which we know didn't happen. If you don't take the events of Kino Der Toten as a valid part of the storyline (part of me does not for good reasons), then your theory would make sense. I think Maxis succeeded in his goals when he bombed the Earth, but not because he wanted to stop from having CotD and Shangri La from occurring. Overall, I'm confused

I'm looking to get a team together as well for the day of release. I decided to take the day off work (had a bunch of PTO as usual lol), so I'll probably be on quite early. I normally wake up at 5 am for work, so I'll probably be on around 6 am central time on Tuesday. Not that you'd have to be on that early, but I probably will be on.

Welcome to CoDz DaftPunk! Don't feel so strange, we've got more than a few Zomb-shes around the forum. So don't feel like you're all alone in that aspect. Plus, we don't bite (we leave that to the zombies). Enjoy the forums! ;)

That's what worries me . The story has gone so far off from Der Riese. We've gotten so many dates since then. I'm sure they figured out a place to put it that won't interfere with our current timeline. Although if they do keep it to that pre 1940's era, they shouldn't have any problem working it in.

Agreed. Although I'm not quite sure what to expect with this map, as it wasn't the usual team of guys that created this. I'm wondering if they paid as much attention to the miniscule details that Jimmy and the boys do. The second part seems like a definite possibility, entering purgatory through the electric chairs to end back up on the island. It does almost seem like the GG bridge is a last stand of sorts after flying there from Alcatraz.

Zombies release countdown and DLC news.

 Ain't it funny PRZ was UOTM for this incredibly detailed thread that was counting down to BO2's release, and then when the game actually did come out, he left. -
No one Escapes Alive, Making the Rounds, Pop goes the Weasel
Shooter replied to A Drunk Soviet's topic in Mob of the Dead
Hey I remember you! You were a WWK member a long time ago right? Have you been back for awhile Drunken Soviet? Well it's good to have you back! Oh, and we got a discussion going on this. You should leave your comments there, you might get more responses. http://callofdutyzombies.com/forum/view ... 49&t=30809 -
I too never read the article or heard this information before. I've been reading it on the forums a lot, but I can't recall actually hearing about it. Although that does make sense, as JZ never mentions the new map on his Twitter account, like he normally would. I'm confident the map will be extremely fun to play, but I'm a bit worried on what the storyline holds with this new map. Hopefully they did their research.

I'll add that to the post. Thanks.

So this thread was a couple days old after the originally trailer first came out. I planned on doing the analysis sooner, but I tend to get caught up in the forums sometimes instead of working on my threads. I wasn't gonna end up posting it, but decided why not, I'll finish up what I had and post it. You guys probably already reached these conclusions, especially after the other two trailers we've gotten, but what the heck I'll post it anyways. Enjoy! It appears Treyarch has provided us with the steps needed to complete the Easter Egg. Whether this is the full list, and how hard these tasks will be to accomplish, is what should be interesting to see come Tuesday. My assumption is that these portal will take us back to real life from Purgatory, as the picture depicts a ghost entering the portal. It's also possible the portals might take us to alternate areas in the map. It appears to be a ADFGX cipher. There's currently a brainstorming session going on between those trying to crack it. Join in on the discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=30667 The author who drew up these plans seems to be having visions of the afterlife. These symbols can also be seen throughout the map. Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing any ______ work on them. I believe this could have something to do with it's purpose This one is kind of hard to make out. If anyone can see what that word is I'd appreciate the feedback. These power units on the walls of the prison may be what turns on the power in the prison for us, or they may be powering something for the EE. The next image depicts a spirit in the Afterlife in front of one of these machines. As I stated, this states we'll need to power these devices on the walls of the prison through the Afterlife mode at some point. Also, Treyarch stated we'll be experiencing the "Afterlife" mode the second we enter MotD, and will basically be starting in this mode. Perhaps this is suggesting an alternate way to turn on the power. I don't know just brainstorming. Another puzzle. I haven't read anything about this yet, has anyone made any sense of this? The only thing I noticed was that there are 6 numbers that do not repeat themselves?: 13, 6, 20, 8, 9, 3. "I'm not sure what I saw. Some things are best kept to yourself." What exactly did this prisoner see? The rough sketch looks like a spirit in the Afterlife mode, as it passes in front of the cells. This can also be seen in the trailer: "This one's different. It's like a moaning scarecrow and there's more of him." or "These heaters can get really hot. Shut off this end." A diagram of a heater that will be used in order to power the makeshift aircraft. A description of the parts for the airplane can be found below. The image clearly shows the spirit leaving the body after death. It's also important to note that they made an additional image with a zoomed in view of an electrical box. Makes me think there's some sort of significance to this. A cat has nine lives? Hmmm I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Perhaps there is a limit to the amount of times we can be in the afterlife? Again just brainstorming. "What about the boats? Wait until dark, guard towers can see us." Blueprints of the plane, and the parts and supplies needed to craft it. Starting from the top right: [*:3azol8uk]Cloth and prison clothing appear to be acting as the wing structure for the aircraft. [*:3azol8uk]Plumping and other pipes are used to help form the frame for the wings. [*:3azol8uk]I can't tell what the tank is used for. The plane still needs an engine to spin the propeller, so my assumption would be it's used to fuel the engine? [*:3azol8uk]Heaters? WTF? Ok, call me crazy, but it almost looks like these heaters are positioned underneath the cloth wings of the plane, heating the air and giving the aircraft flight (much like a hot air balloon). If this is true, the gas tank above it is most likely the fuel source running the heaters. It certainly is one interesting prototype aircraft that we'll have to construct, that's for sure. Things that can fly: birds, insects, balloons, ..., ..., ... The last three words are illegible, but it seems like he was brainstorming different ideas of what would be able carry them in flight. Not going to work without a propeller I don't know why, but I have a feeling this propeller may be difficult to find, as it seems like the guys planning this are upset that one is needed. We got a ramp, but where do we hide it? Where else would you put the ramp if not on the roof? February 26, 1932 Another date being tossed in our face. I've made comments on this date in other threads, so I will post that here: Also, in the newest Mob of the Dead trailer, a newspaper can be seen that announces Sal's guilty verdict. The date on the paper is June 13 1932, months after the date seen in this journal. Also, a drawn out sentencing trial may have pushed the date even further for when Sal even entered the prison system. REMEMBER THIS AL DON'T FORGET IT Al "The Weasel" Arlington "If you can get past the greasy smile and the feeling that you were being conned out of your very soul, Arlington was your man." — Billy Handsome So that's what I got outta the whole thing thus far. Some things make sense, others still boggle me. The two puzzles found on this escape plan are what interests me the most. Surely they've got to have some kind of meaning to them. Well, even if you didn't get much new info out of this, I hope you enjoyed the read. Now, time to finish all these other half finished threads of mine Shooter

I'm glad to see your interest in the timeline of W@W and BO, as it doesn't garner much attention or research anymore. That being said, there is much to be desired from this. First it depends on what timeline you're following? Are you speaking from Richtofen and the gang's point of view? or Historically speaking? Or what? I think that's what MMX was confused about as well. If you're speaking from Richtofen's view, these are all correct except Shangri La, which we know occurred between CotD and Moon. Other things to note: [*:1af7v6se]The Tunguska meteor hit in Siberia (Russia), not Japan. [*:1af7v6se]We travel forward in time to Kino, hence the historical structures seen outside the map dating to 1968. [*:1af7v6se]The red phones seen in Ascension and Five (The Moscow-Washington hotline in real life), link the two maps to be occurring simultaneously. And we know Five occurred in 1963, meaning Ascension did as well. It's important to examine the character quotes and listen to the radios from maps like Ascension, CotD, SL, and Moon. These quotes and radios are what hold the most valuable information in establishing a timeline of events. Keep digging, you'll like what you find! http://callofdutyzombies.com/forum/view ... hp?t=11967 viewtopic.php?f=100&t=28818&p=277870#p277870

Fear Russ Anagram Black Ops 1 & 2 DLC
Shooter replied to faction935's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Fear Rush? Fear Rust? Have no fear, CoDz is here! Seriously though I have no idea. I'll come back in 6 months and let you know. -
Interesting. The date of February 26, 1932 listed on the escape plan predates the newspaper from when "Sal" was arrested. This further proves the date listed on the escape plans do not indicate the time of the map. I wonder just how long these mobsters were at Alcatraz before they attempted an escape...

What's up G! Good to have you sign up and thanks for making an intro! You seem like a laid back dude that enjoys his zombie slaying. You should like it here! As far as story goes, there's some great threads on here that explain it. I've got a tread as well with the story leading up until BO2 if you're interested in knowing more. It's long and conplex, but what great story isn't? viewtopic.php?f=100&t=28818&p=277870#p277870 Well again, welcome to CoDz! See you around the forum!

It's also been pointed out that the Tomohawk can return Power Ups that have been dropped by zombies. I think it was in the 'making of' video that they showed the Tomohawk retrieving a Nuke for the player.

My dear old Maxis? Evil?! WHY I'VE NEVER!!!! If Maxis really was in control leading up to Samantha's takeover, he put on one HELL of an act for the 2 years leading up to the transfer of power. In my opinion, I have yet to see anything that points to Maxis having evil intentions to harm the human race. His behavior thus far can be explained. Whether you believe him is where the opinions on him split, but for me I understand his reasoning for all that he's done so far. It's also interesting to note that Maxis is not trying to gain control of power like Richtofen is during the Easter Eggs of Black Ops 2. He states his plans in TranZit to build "global polarization devices", in Die Rise he releases the broken souls of the zombies with a blood sacrifice and reincarnation. His plans are not to acquire the energy that Richtofen is after, but to somehow stop Richtofen from getting it. Plus, would you rather work for that rat Edward and seal your own fate of eternal damnation. Regardless of my opinion on the matter, this is an extremely well written thread Fated. Some of the best theories I've read are ones in which the concepts are easy to follow and comprehend and the thread flows in a way which keeps you interested. This thread excels in all these things. Very well done my friend! :)

Did Sam Controll the Zombies before Shi No Numa?
Shooter replied to Mattzs's topic in General Zombies Discussion
A lot of the storyline concepts we have came directly from feedback from the community. Treyarch originally released NDU as a bonus mode for completing W@W, a fun little side mission for completing the campaign. They never anticipated how widely well received it would be. With it's success brought Verruckt in the first DLC pack for W@W. Shortly after the map's release, a member made a post on how he thought he heard a zombie say the word Sam, and wanted to know who Sam was. And that's how the whole thing started. [tab][/tab]At that point, the Zombies team realized the possibilities of creating this interesting backstory, that would be able to be built in part by the fans. Did they have a set storyline as far back as W@W? No. They had basic concepts like Sam, Richtofen, Maxis, Group 935, Element 115, and the gang. But all of the other concepts we've seen like Vril, Moon bases, Lighthouse maps, etc have all come from the fans. So to answer your questions. Kinda. The idea of a controller of the zombies was created by Treyarch, but only after getting that initial feedback about hearing zombies say Sam. I might be foolish for saying this, but I believe the zombie team now has a little bit more of a set storyline for BO2. We've seen the same concept throughout the last 5 or 6 maps (from CotD on at least) of Richtofen trying to take over the world, giving me hope they've thought some of this stuff through. The team had a lot of time off between BO1 and BO2, and I'm sure they knew the story needed to be complex as so many would follow it closely. Makes me think they put some time into to develop their own storyline to follow. Still, it's hard to tell. The CotD lighthouse idea was another fan-created concept as people had been writing threads about it since originally seen on W@W. Treyarch reads these threads, and respond to them accordingly. -
When you get the Golden Rod in CotD, you MUST put it in the tube and give it to Richtofen on the other side of the door to complete the EE. I'm pretty sure the only step after that is knifing the control panel/fuse next to the door, and you should be finished with the CotD Easter Egg. Then all you'll have left is Shangri La and Moon. I'm almost positive you don't have to do the Co Op version of the CotD EE for it to count. You should be fine doing it on Solo. You will need 4 players for the Shangri La and Moon EEs though.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=My2keV2IIQ0 For those that can't view it on a mobile device. Gotta do an analysis once I get home.
-
Well once you get a capture card, or heck even record part of it with your cellphone, then you should come back and post it. Otherwise, just don't bother posting this. If it was an Eastere Egg for Die Rise or Tranzit or something I'd be more inclined to believe you, as those maps are relatively new. But Kino has been searched through extensively, and nothing was ever found.
-
I think the point Infest was trying to get across was that you need the Golden Rod and Focusing Stone for the Moon Easter Egg, and that you can only acquire those two items by first completing the CotD and Shangri La EE. And yeah, you do have to do them in that order: CotD, Shangri La, Moon.

The description reads: Pellentesque id ante a arcu rutruriam adipiscing convallis hendrerit.

It's my belief that the electrical energy they share are one and the same, even though they are two different beings. I know that makes no sense right now, but one day it will...
-
So another lurker has stepped into the light eh? I'm glad you've made the move to officially join the party. We're glad to have you here Ash! Now get posting on those theories! :)
