Thanks for the help with this man. This thread needs updates pretty much once a week (46 updates ). Posting all the records with the names, rounds, and youtube links like this makes it alot easier to update the thread. Thanks again way. Thanks for the updates as well. As always, brains are rewarded for anyone that can help me keep the thread up to date. It's hard enough to keep up with it as is, so providing the direct info is MUCH appreciated! Thanks again guys.

Proof That The Original Crew Will Return!
Shooter replied to MiamiHurricane2's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I always heard the 3 rockets in the Ascension loading screen were filled with 115. I don't know about fueled by - but if they carried 115 before, could have done it again. Maxis does laugh pretty maniacally once those rockets hit. I meant to say filled. But I've realized I've overlooked the obvious fact that Maxis wouldn't have wanted to create more zombies if Richtofen was in control. The thought that the 3 rockets of Ascension being filled with 115 comes from the loading screen of the level. The shadows of the rockets spell out 115. This may be a reference to the rockets having 115, or that Ascension itself has 115 involved with it. It's up to interpretation. In regards to Maxis blowing up the Earth, it's my impression that it was specific targets he was aiming at. He wasn't trying to blow up the Earth completely. There is an unused quote from Moon by Maxis that is said after the explosion. Treyarch ultimately left it out of the final cut. I made a topic on it awhile back if you wanna check it out more: viewtopic.php?f=100&t=21841&hilit=+Maxis+quote Where he targeted is unknown, but it could have been Germany, Russia, and America. These would be the most infected parts of the globe based on the locations of previous maps. Another possibility could be that the locations are associated with the Vril- ya, such as Shangri La, CotD, and another location, possibly cutting Rictofen's ties with Earth and the zombies. I'm leaning more towards the first though. -
Will Treyarch release a zombies trailer?
Shooter replied to Marlinals173's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I'm about 99% sure we'll see a variety of zombie trailers before it's release. Hopefully we'll have a viral campaign of some sort before then though. -
Welcome Nikolai! I loved you in Black Ops! Welcome to CoDz. Thanks for making an intro!

Awesome to have you back Snafu! Looking forawrd to the threads! :)

Theories you say?! I think CoDz can help you out there! Welcome to the forum DTyrone!

Interesting. Look at the tweet Jimmy made last night. Last night was the 115th day until Black Ops 2's release.

Tac's got it. I think the first line makes it pretty clear. This conversation presumably occured right after Richtofen teleports Maxis and Sam (amd Fluffy) in the Der Riese radio. Richtofen's first line shows he did not intend to send them there. He's suprised that she ended up there. He figures Maxis (and Fluffy) would be there as well, since they were all together. He either intended to kill them or send them somewhere, but not Griffin Station. Now before the final betrayal, Richtofen and Maxis were working together, trying to perfect the work of teleportation. However, after Richtofen's first teleportation, he was able to perfect it 19 days later. He managed to get everything and every one up to Griffin Station. He understood how teleportation works. Now we know Richtofen stated he was putting on charade at Der Riese with Maxis. Maxis was trying to figure out how to get the MTD to teleport successfully, and there Richtofen was, aware of what to do the whole time. Richtofen was just waiting for his chance to pounce. Richtofen knew how to use the machine, and I'm starting to contemplate he was indeed attempting to send them to Aether. There's evidence to support he knew of it before then. However, it does not work as intended, and they do not end up in Aether. Samantha end ups near it, at Griffin Station. Maxis is presumably sent to Shangri-La. Afterwards, Samantha ends up in the pyramid aka Aether, but not as Richtofen had wanted. Instead, she is now in control of the zombies instead of being one of them. And then things get intersting... Tac, we gotta talk soon.

""What's 11?" Well it's nothing. Or is it? Interestingly enough, there's quite a few connections to the world of zombies in terms of the number 11. So "what's 11?" Apollo 11 Apollo 11 was the first manned aircraft to land on the Moon on July 20, 1969 (two days away from the 43rd anniversary BTW. Jimmy made the post just a day before the 43rd anniversary of the launch). Are the three astronauts seen in the valley of the Moon loading screen the three American astronauts from this flight? Not sure what's up with the fourth astronaut but the connection is there. The description for Moon on black ops actually refers to this. "I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth. (JFK, 1961)" Could this be the "11" that Jimmy was referring to? [/*:m:i6u6996c] A solar cycle normally lasts 11 years This may tie into the Eclipse of Shangri-La. Mars is in the lead in my book thanks to the texture file's name. After Mix's explanation of the last two words of the coding, it seems like they're using Mars as a direct reference for the background. I just don't see a reason to use Mars as a reference picture unless there was a reason behind it. The Mars theory is gaining strength by the minute.
-
I'm not a game developer, but I am a 3D artist. Here's my own 2 cents... I think you have the vista part right. I think the card part is referring to the texture being projected on a flat 2D plane or wall of polygons, in 3D space. I've seen the map no-clipped before. The map developers didn't actually model the mountains in the background. It's simply the texture map displayed on flat walls of polygons facing in your direction. The wall of polygons is a card. So vista_card is a short way of saying "the flat texture of the mountain you see out in the distance". - Mix Ah, gotcha, thanks for the explanation Mix! Much appreciated! It appears if they're using a reference picture of Mars for the background of Shangri-La, the connection is quite strong.

This is another possibilty that's been stated here, along with a few other theories as well. Unfortunately, there is alot of evidence pointing to multiple locations, yet no positive confirmations to where exactly. Cool stuff though, it's definately possible. Oh, and the Shrink Ray (baby maker) was developed by Dr. Maxis according to a Richtofen quote from Shangri-La: "“I knew Maxis was working on such a device, but I had no idea he was successful.” –wpck_shrink_4

First off, great post here. This just goes to show don't judge anyone because they're a new member, this post is truly phenominal. I think we need to examine this much more closely before we say it's confirmed though. Not that I don't believe it's a possibility though. Let me say this right now I do believe it's a possibility. There are connections that are undeniable. I've read Tac's theory and others and there are some convincing points. This could be the confirming evidence, but some things bug me about it. This confuses me very much asw well. This does not appear to be Mars. The shrubbery, fences, and telepohone poles shouldn't be there. It almost looks like the sky backdrop was just added onto a picture of a mountain here on Earth. Also, what exactly do the other words in the file name mean?: gp_ztem_mars_vista_card game picture_zombie temple_mars_vista_card I'm reading that vista can be another word for view, but I don't know, it seems like such a odd choice for words. And "card" I'm unsure of as well. Could someone maybe touch up on those last two? A quick Google search of "mars vista" all result in a Mar Vista, Los Angeles, CA. Coincidentaly enough, Treyarch Studios lies dead square on the border of the Mar Vista District of Los Angeles, CA. Was the file name a misprint? Unlikely, but possible. Is the fact that Treyarch lies on the border of the Mar Vistadistrict of Los Angeles, CA just a coincidence? Most likely. I'd personally just like to know what the other two words refer to. Oh, and Jimmy Zelinkski's twitter account also states his location is "Shangri La" I think this is all more a coincidence, but it's a very strange one. But then again, why would they use a reference picture from Mars for Shangri La in the first place? This would actually support that Shangri La is indeed at Mars at some point. One strong point that I like that supports it being on Mars is the Lunar Lander. I've yet to hear a reasonable explanation on why there is a Lunar Lander there. Mars might be the answer to that question. [tab][/tab]Another interesting thing to note is that the Vril-ya have never had any association with Mars. Nowhere in the novel does it ever mention Mars or traveling to other planets. In fact, that's the whole thing behind the story, the Vril-ya inhabit Inner Earth, and will eventually take over our world above ground when space runs out down below. While the Vril-ya could most likely posses the power for interplanetary travel, it would contradict the novel entirely. But this isn't about that book, it's about Treyarch's book. And in Treyarch's book, anything is possible. The Moon was not mentioned in The Coming Race either, but sure enough that happened. Ultimately, this leaves us with a fiew final questions: Why Mars? Why now? And What's the significance? Could they be suggesting a trip back to Shangri La and Mars? Doubtful of that. If it is indeed Mars, I hope it just a fun little FYI for us and not significant to the future storyline of the gang. I just see there being a VERY far stretch with Mars. Moon I get. JFK, the Russians, it was all plausbile. But Mars is just another whole story. It's going to be interesting to see where Treyarch's taking this. Questions. Why must we always end up with more questions than answers. Damn you Treyarch!

The Summer CoDz Fundraiser Challenges *PRIZES* ENTER NOW!
Shooter replied to Shooter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
No, HD is not required. Any video is fine so long as it is clear and viewable the entire length of time. The winner and runner up will have their videos added to the winner thread for all to see, so just be sure it will be viewable by others. HD video would of course be preferred. Right back at you. ------------------------------- Anyways here is my caption for your contest "Macarena now!! Best dancer lives." Also I have a donation question. The new theme has a donate button on top, stating how much toward the 130 we need. I made a few bucks this morning yet it never showed. Just a bit concerned with the marketing strategy. Thanks for all the kind words as always jay. I strive to be the best member I can here on CoDz and hope to contribute on all levels, from gameplay to theories, to community and everything in between. That has always been my goal. My main interest will remain in theories as it always has, but I love all aspects of the game and the community. But hey, who wouldn't You're caption cracked me up. I can tell the type of the type of tone you're using. Oh, and I never noticed that donation bar they added. So long as we get the participation in it, we'll be able to reach our goals in less than 4 weeks time! Not a bad idea, but it may be unneccessary. So long as you hold on to your first couple guns (any wall weapons would be fine), you shouldn't have to worry about accidently killing a zombie by accident. A couple shots from a 74u shouldn't be enough to kill a zombie on Round 8. Either way, I will be reviewing every submission, and it will be clear if someone attempts to cheat in this manner. Definately, that's ultimately why I choose to have submissions sent through PMs. I should really reiterate that on the post. If you go down with QR, then yes, you must buy both perks back. I wanted to keep QR as an option so you have to choose between Jugg or QR. The obvious choice is Jugg, but if you mess up then it's game over. I'll reiterate on the post that only 2 perks are allowed. As for the time limit, I could perhaps lower it to 60 minutes. But I think 90 minutes might be better suiting. Youtube allows you to verify your account via a telephone number and you can have an unlimited time limit for uploads. Great points BTW here Rissole! Very much appreciated as always. The most we can do now is just promote the challeng. I hope people can see this and gain some interest. After all, it's all for CoDz! -

[center:2lnnsrzt]Shooter's Summer CoDz Fundraiser Challenges:[/center:2lnnsrzt] What's up fellow CoDzers! Today I'm going to start a series of challenges here on CoDz, with a chance to win some real life prizes in exchange for your hard work. Yup, a challenge worth a little something in return. You can also consider it a chance to donate to CoDz without having the means to do so. I've been wanting to do this for awhile, so I figure now could be an appropriate time to do it, as we anticipate the arrival of BO2. Since there are real prizes up for stakes here, video proof is required for the gameplay challenge. Tac is going to be helping me out with the contest, so questions may also be directed to him if need be. Tac and I will review the videos personally to be sure all the rules are followed. Now, before we get on with the challenge, there are some requirements. You must meet 2 of the 3 following requirements: Have been a member of CoDz for at least one month[/*:m:2lnnsrzt] Have over 50 posts[/*:m:2lnnsrzt] Have over 100 brains[/*:m:2lnnsrzt] For those of you that do not meet the requirements, don't fret. I plan on doing another contest in 8 weeks. So sign up, get posting, and keep a lookout for my next challenge shortly. Now, onto the challenges...

I'm doubtful that it's something we can find in game. I think the clues are hinting at something research wise. But who knows ,I could be completely wrong. I just feel like we would have found something by now if it was in-game. I gotta agree though I love Shangri-La. I love the added difficulty that comes with the map.

Dr. Maxis is dead. Samantha admits it herself. His soul however is still trapped in Aether, based on quotes from Shangri La and Moon. He can still communicate via electronics in the Aether, just as Dr. Gersch did during our time at Ascension.
-
Awesome stuff Jake Duck! I remeber reading the thread you made about the idea. I'm glad they implemented your idea!

That would just be a pretty big presumption to make to think they would go back in time to Shangri-La. There's no reason why they would go back in time to go to Shangri-La. There's no sort of evidence to show that they would need to. Plus the model of digital voice recorders that Gary and Brock left behind are dated somewhere in the 2000s, and we traveled there after them. I think it's safer to assume it was sometime between 2000-2012.
