Hordes of flesh eating zombies, microwave and ray guns, and a group of time traveling numbskulls and you're focusing on the stars....
-
Was searching all things zombie related and came across this pretty sweet article on TheWeatherChannel.com. The interviewer at TWC.com conducts a fictional interview with the CDD (Centers for Disease Development) post-outbreak, after the CDC failed to control the infection and create a cure. The interview answers many questions on how zombies would react to specific weather disasters and conditions. Here's the fictional interview: WX: Who is the CDD, and what is your mission? CDD: The CDD is the Centers for Disease Development. The so-called "zombie outbreak" is nothing to be feared, because we have harnessed the virus and isolated it and are now able to use it for the good of mankind. Using the undead human shell reanimated, we can rebuild our society, get back the space program, conduct underwater exploration, and of course, perform military operations, without having to sacrifice the valuable few human lives that are left. WX: How does the temperature affect zombies' abilities? Do they run faster in warmer temperatures? Do they freeze if it gets too cold? CDD: Just like humans, they still have human muscles, bones, and joints. They freeze more easily than humans because they don't have the circulation of blood. As of right now, they do perform better in the summer. However, we're working on improving their anatomy so they are highly functioning across all the seasons. WX: What would a zombie do in a tornado? Would it instinctively know to seek shelter? CDD: No, it would not. They are mindless creatures, but we are also working on enhancing their creative and reasoning abilities, as well as self-preservation and other important behaviors. WX: If a zombie got struck by lightning, would it cease to animate? CDD: If the brain is destroyed, yes it would. We've actually conducted experiments with electricity, and we believe it would take a precise hit for the zombie to go down permanently. Perhaps we'll experiment with lightning rods during the next storm. WX: Do zombies eat less during the winter months? CDD: They move slower in the winter months, so out of necessity they eat less because it is harder for them to catch their prey. However, a zombie will never starve to the point of death, and when the spring comes they'll be highly mobile and ravenous once again. WX: Are zombies bothered by the sound of thunder? Does it affect their hunting abilities? CDD: Zombies hunt by sight, smell, and sound. Whichever is the most prominent indicator at the time, that is what they will track. So if they are in pursuit of prey and they hear the sound of distant thunder, they might head that direction because they think there is something there to kill and eat. It could be very disorienting to them. WX: So if you are camping out and a there is a thunderstorm approaching, it's probably a good idea to pack up and move camp? CDD: Exactly. WX: How easily would a zombie be able to get around in a flood? Can they swim? CDD:They can't swim, but they can walk through and even underwater, as their bodies have no need for oxygen. In deep waters, they sink straight to the bottom. In fact, the oceans and lakes are now filled with zombies at their depths. WX: So it's probably not a good idea to walk through flood waters? CDD: I wouldn't. So here's some things we can gather from the article: *Zombies freeze easier than humans (due to less circulation). *Zombies respond better in warm weather. *Freezing temperatures affect zombies just as much if not more than humans. *Zombies and tornadoes don't mix. *Lightning strikes will not kill a zombie unless a direct strike to the head. (but the DG2 could disprove that one! ) *Zombies move slower in cold weather. *Zombies hunt by sight, smell, and sound, whichever is most prominent is what they will follow. *Zombies are attracted to the sound of thunder, and will follow it. *You cannot drown a zombie, as their bodies have no need for oxygen. *Flood waters can be filled with zombies at the bottom. This is of course all in good fun. Just found it funny that this was on the weather channel's website. I apologize if this has been posted. I tried searching it and came up with no results. Support high rounds more in black ops 2!!!!
Shooter replied to selectyeti89's topic in Single Player
Agreed. I think Treyarch learned from Ascension what kind of high rounds people were capable of. Especially when they give us wide open space to run around in like that. If they continue to put wide open areas like that on their maps, they've gotta be prepared for people getting to high rounds. -
??? The original post is timestamped at March 13 2012, the same day he signed up. Someone just brought it back to life two weeks later when they commented on it. But hey, it's never to late to say hello, right?

....um are you serious?? They went to the freaking moon, thats crazy. Travelling back in time is more probable than space travel but i dont ever see they doing it, with no guns to buy it wouldnt work and simple weapons (clubs and such) just wouldnt be the same. The only real way it could work is maybe to get to the pap you need to teleport and it takes you there for 30 seconds before taking you to pap or part of the easter egg. They are on to a good thing with the formula they are using and probably shouldnt change anything. Lol, that sentence made me laugh.

 There's no need for weapons anyhow! There weren't any humans around to become zombies back then. Zombie T-Rex you say?.....

TREYARCH What We Thought of Past Maps and Want Different..
Shooter replied to LILNIG's topic in Single Player
All are great maps in their own unique ways really. I can't say I hate any of the maps. Pretty much love em all for different reasons... Moon Der Riese CotD Ascension Kino Shangri-La Shi-No Verruckt Five Nacht Dead Ops -
I like both these ideas for Mule Kick infected zombies.
-
Thanks for the submission. I updated the leaderboard. If anyone else would like to submit their scores I'd appreciate it! I'd like to make the list larger.
-
This is one of the better ideas I've heard in a long time. It would be a great addition to the game that I think the average player and hardcore zombie fans alike would really enjoy. The various colored eyes is also a great way to distinguish them. [brains]

Bahahaha You're subtly in your answer cracked me up. Yeah, my favorite maps are still Moon, Der Riese, and CotD in that order. Relax guys. We only gotta make it another 15 times! I see what ya did there richtofen. Clever 8-) .

And we know that 19 days later, Richtofen reappears at Der Riese, grabs Dr. Schuster, and brings him back to the Moon. Two years later, construction has completed at Griffin Station and Group 935 begins working with the MPD. Moon radios 4 and 5 support this: From these radios, we can gather that Griffin Station was built in the early part of 1942. Therefore, the events of Moon cannot take place 65 million years ago as Griffin Station is built on the Moon. If it did happen 65 million years ago, Griffin Station would not be there and it would just be an empty desolate Moon surface. The events with our gang would have to have happened sometime after 1942 during the initial outbreak (when Sam first gets trapped in the pyramid and starts controlling things). Check out my timeline in my signature for more details. EDIT: Now I'm not saying there's no chance for the continuation of the story. While the Earth is severely damaged, it is not blown up completely. One possibilty I've contemplated is the 3 missles attacked the 3 major areas of infection (Russia, Germany, America?, in hopes of stoping it before it takes over the entire world. However the blast doesn't stop the entire infection, and the outbreaks still continue. Perhaps we play as another group and find a way to teleport our crew back to Earth. Idk just shooting ideas of hope out there for some of you guys that want to see our gang return. Personally, I'd love to see our gang again in Black Ops 2, but I just don't see how they can keep this crazy ass story going effectively. I've come to the conclusion that time travel can be... well, brainmelting to say the least. I'm writing a novel dealing with time travel, and I have often stayed up until 2 or 3 in the morning pondering how time could be morphed, and how exactly time travel would work. There are two possible scenarios I see: a) You travel back in time. It is all a single flow of everything, and doubling back on that flow can lead to changes in the initial flow itself, leading to paradoxes that would disallow time travel in the first place. I have trouble accepting this as plausible. The universe doesn't like paradoxes. These paradoxes can be summed up as the Grandfather Paradox. Now, I know you're a hardcore story-liner unlike me, so I guess you already know what the Grandfather Paradox is. But for anyone else that isn't familiar with this particular paradox, it goes a little something like this: Suppose you travel back in time and kill your grandfather before he met your grandmother. This would cause your mother/father to never be born, and would cause you to not exist. And if you don't exist, how could you travel back in time in the first place? Now, when dealing with Zombies, I feel that this paradox does not apply, making this scenario false (for this game, at least). How? Well, I'm not quite sure; I more believe this to be false because the other scenario fits sooooo much better. You travel back in time. But 'time' itself is a loose term—it means nothing. Time is nothing. Instead, there is only present. That's it in your dimension. But there are other dimensions. In fact, there are an infinite number of dimensions. Every moment of everything that has ever been and ever will be is its own dimension. Time is just the steady progression of presents, one by one, without the ability to go backwards or skip ahead, just a constant flow of stone-stepping across everything. You can't mess with the past because there is no past, just another present. This is the scenario I feel is true. It just makes sense. And I feel that this—or something relatively similar to it, at least (there are quite a few variations on this theory)—scenario could apply to Zombies and produce infinite possibilities for its future. What if Vril—or 115—is a medium that allows you to break the flow of time? That allows you to skip forwards or backwards? But what if it doesn't stop with you? What if you bring objects with you? What if the Vril Pyramid is so immensely powerful that it has the potential to pick up an entire base and send you into the 'past'? Or what if the MDT, the one in Area 51, can jump across presents, maintain radio contact, and be in the past—but without a single person knowing? It may sound ridiculous, but how can you be sure? Just read about Flight 19, the Navy training flight that disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle. I'm not saying that Flight 19 entered a rift in time or something, but just look at this: Radio contact was maintained for 3 hours before the five planes crashed or whatever happened to them. This was real life. Imagine the possibilities in a video game. I feel that the possibility of 935 building a Moon base millions of years in the past, constantly teleporting back to the 20th century and maintaining radio contact, without even being aware of the situation is perfectly reasonable, especially considering all of the crazy stuff Treyarch has done to us in the past. So yeah, that's my two cents. This was my first time ever getting deep into the storyline. Hope I did okay lol. -perfect Excellent stuff there perfect! I'll be sure to come back and brains when I can (must've gave you some recently, says I gotta give to other users first) I've also considered this possibility of alternate dimensions in time and space. And if this is the case, then the only important timeline is the one that our gang is currently taking. Nothing in the past is relevant any more as the only thing that matters is the current time and dimension you're in. However I've always tried to stray away from this way of thinking. The complexity of alternate dimension and the warping of time and space is truly, as you stated, mindblowing. To comprehend it is a daunting task in it's own respect, let alone applying it to the zombie storyline. And I believe that Treyarch would not have chosen this option for their storyline for the same reason. (If Treyarch even knows what they're doing with this damned story lol.) However I absolutely could be wrong. Be options are absolutely feasable. And that's what people should take from this. There's not just one simple answer for all the mysteries behind the storyline. That's why we've just got to try our best to piece it together with the help of radios, quotes, terminal info etc. Again perfect excellent post! People need to consider this as another viable option.

A Chainsaw?? Can we say ASH from The Evil Dead. That'd be pretty badass. Matter of fact, why don't they just get Bruce in for another celebrity zombie map in the next CoD. It would be absolutely hilarious! ANYwho, I think the idea of various new melee weapons is great. The Double Punch ( that's what I always referred to it as too) has always been something I've wanted for awhile. Have it either unlock at a certain round (30?), after completion of the EE, or cost a significant amount more to buy. It'd be great for getting past the 40 plus rounds. I'd LOVE to see this idea brought to life. The permanent Death Machine idea however does sound a bit overpowering. If you know how to work the power-up drops to your advantage, you can get guaranteed max ammos for a long time. You'd never run out of ammo for it. Plus with the addition of Mule Kick, you could hold onto the weapon forever. Plus being able to pack a punch it (what about Double Punch it?) would make it extremely powerful. It could most definately be fun, just not sure if it'd be too overpowering.

CoDz members aren't the type of people to flame. You should always feel free to share your ideas here. I think this a common misconception with Fluffy though. As stated in Der Riese Radio #4, Fluffy was actually test subject number 5. Test subject number 6 is an irrelevant unknown subject, who disappears before Fluffy (In Hellhound form) reappears and the events that lead to Richtofen's betrayal of Sam and Dr. Maxis. (Supported by Der Riese Radio #7) "Beware of the 6" may simply refer to the Nova 6 crawlers present in the Kino map. Or it may refer to something much more mysterious and devious.

Medals - What are they and how do they work? [UPDATE]
Shooter replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in Site News
Awesome to here everything's starting to work out Cov! I think we're all a bit anxious to try out the new medals. And a new theme you say? Hmmm this is sounding quite promising! People of CoDz: Be open to at least try this out! It's most likely going to blow the current usergroups system we have now right out the water. I have a feeling it's going to overexceed everyone's expectations. Thanks for the update Cov! Keep em coming! :D -
You forgot the 'All of the Above" option

Ok, first off let me start by saying I think this is nothing more than a graphical error on Treyarch's part. We know Treyarch has made mistakes like this before (i.e. the 2nd Earth on Moon which you stated) and are certainly capale of making more. If they let such a huge graphical error like having 2 Earths on the Moon map, I doubt they'd even pay attention to this. They most likely thought we'd do the same and not even notice. Now, say this isn't a graphical error. And I'll try to explain this so it's easy to follow. We know Richtofen first traveled to the Moon (pre-Griffin Station) and that's when he first discovered the Vril pyramid (MPD) on January 4, 1940. Moon Radio #3 supports this: And we know that 19 days later, Richtofen reappears at Der Riese, grabs Dr. One possibilty I've contemplated is the 3 missles attacked the 3 major areas of infection (Russia, Germany, America?) in hopes of stoping it before it takes over the entire world. However the blast doesn't stop the entire infection, and the outbreak still continues in the next game. Perhaps we play as another group and find a way to teleport our old gang back to Earth. I don't know, just shooting out ideas of hope out there for some of you guys that want to see our gang return. Personally, I'd love to see our gang again in Black Ops 2, but I just don't see how they can keep this crazy ass story going in the right direction effectively.

Solo - Wave Gun or Thundergun would have to be the best for me. Co-Op - VR11. It's absolutely amazing to me how many people underestimate the VR11 or don't comprehend it's full potential. For high rounds purposes, it is one of the most useful weapons out there for Co-Op. I mean c'mon, it's an Insta-Kill Gun! How can someone not love that?!?

Black ops 2 would have something for hardened edition?
Shooter replied to Nathan169's topic in Single Player
That's I'm thinking as well. It's all going to be handled through CoD Elite. I don't believe MW3 was available as Hardened or Prestige (I think there was a Limited Edition one? not sure :?) editions. And I believe that was due to the addition of Elite. I'm assuming the same will go for Black Ops 2. Which sucks. -
LOL, yeah those were the days.....days full of unsuccessful logins and maxed out servers. Seriously, the traffic was just insane on this site every time a new map dropped. Gotta say though I'm proud of CoDz always being one of the first to solve the Easter Eggs and other stuff from each new map. We're always right on top of it, from the weeks before to the weeks and months and years after.

No Hacker Devices appear on the spawn side. The only options are a Gersch Device or the Astro Zombie teleporting you. You'll lose your perks if they're not permanent, but it's all you've got. No Gerschs? No Astro Zombie? No way.
