  1. To answer these questions individually, you have to view the story as a whole. It's practically impossible to answer one question without it affecting the overall impact of the storyline. I'm not sure if that made sense. But my suggestion would be to research the story as a whole from W@W to BO, start to end. Only then will you be able to answer some of these questions. Hell, you'll probably find that quite a few of these questions have already been answered.
  2. Woop woop! It's awesome to see you guys moving up the ranks! You two certainly deserve it. So there's only one Dweller left? We really take the whole "going green" thing to a new level lol. Congrats again guys! Make us proud.
  3. This started as a response on another thread, but eventually got a bit long, so I decided to post it real quick. This is just a quick little sum up of the ultimate goals of Richtofen and Maxis. There still seems to be a lot of questions about, so I thought I mind as well make a thread. Plus, it helps when I put things on paper sometimes. Nothing special with this thread, just a short little discussion. Enjoy. Richtofen's goal was to gain the full power he needs to reenter a physical body while still maintaining control of the Aether, allowing him to live in the world he rules over. He gained control of the undead when taking place with Samantha, but he did not have the full power yet to control more than that within the Aether. “Vital energy flows through all things, living or dead. My power to manipulate these forces is fragile, and limited. That is why I need your help.” He could not do this until the three towers around the globe were powered and activated. Upon activating the towers in Buried, the vital energy around the world is transmitted into the Aether and into Richtofen's soul, giving him total control of the realm. "Finally, I am in control! The Aether is mine to manipulate as I wish! The world is now my own personal play thing!" So why get all this extra power to manipulate these things? Well what's a world to rule over if you can't live in it. And that's why Richtofen needed full control. He needed the ability to enter any physical body at will, while still maintain control of the Aether. Richtofen not only controls Earth, but Aether as well. He is truly now an unstoppable force. At the end of the Buried Easter Egg on Richtofen's side (if you activate the three Richtofen towers), Richtofen gains full control of the Aether. He then jumps into Samuel's body and reenters the physical world. However, when he reenters Samuel's body he finds it hard to control it as Samuel's soul struggles to fight Richtofen's. Richtofen decideds to let Samuel be for awhile, and reenters the Aether. What happens in DLC4 in Richtofen's New World Order, I'm not sure. Could we end up fighting Samuel aka Richtofen? Does Richtofen rebuild the world into his own personal playpen? I don't know, but expect to see spleens. Maxis' goal was to obtain the same energy Richtofen is after, but in an attempt to use the power to reveal and open the gateway to Agartha, in search of his daughter Samantha. When we first pick up with the new crew in Tranzit, Maxis power is limited within the Aether. He is much like Gersch in that he's stuck in Aether, with limited to no power. But unlike Gersch, he doesn't want to just escape, he wants the full control that Richtofen is seeking. Both are after this full rule over the Aether's energy, but Maxis wants it to reach Agartha to save Samantha. As opposed to Richtofen using it to enter a physical body while in control of Aether so he could live in the world he controls. He obtains this energy the same way Richtofen does, through the powered and activated towers across the globes. This is why we were forced to choose a side during the maps, this vital life energy could only be controlled by one side. Once we activate his Easter Egg ending on Buried, the process of switching the controller of the zombies occurs, and Maxis takes Richtofen's spot. Richtofen still resides within Aether, but has now lost control. Maxis regretfully informs the player that Earth and it's people will be destroyed in the blast, however it is not revealed why or how exactly the Earth will be affected by the gateway being opened. Will we open the gateway to Agartha and find Samtofen within it's realm? Richtofen states he does not know what ultimately happened with her, and suggests she may still be in Richtofen's physical body somewhere in Agartha. Could our old friends Tank, Tak, and Nikolai be in Agartha as well awaiting us. I'd like to hope so. The latest Maxis journal entry (which btw was not during Der Riese, but after Maxis was betrayed) helps reaffirm the goal he stated at the end of Buried. We also know this journal entry was after Der Riese, as Maxis states his daughter is in "the realm beyond" meaning they've already been betrayed by Richtofen and after Der Riese. My guess is that this was during his time in a "wretched tunnel" after being betrayed. I'm considering that this tunnel very well may have been one of the tunnels in Buried, and Maxis may have spent time here developing a plan (Time Bomb even)that could reverse the events. Just something I've brainstormed since DLC3's release. There's still a lot of stuff to add in between and plenty of quotes to go along with this, but I'm just adding them into the second part of my Zombies Saga thread. I just wanted to go over the quick summary of events of what's happening.

    Tectonic shift

Tac mentioned that quote in another thread too, and I think MMX just about summed it up for what I'd say. It appears that some areas were not affected by the tectonic shift, Nuketown and Green Run are still located in the same location on the world map for example, indicating the North American plate never moved. It's possible that Africa's Great Rift Valley was one of Maxis' intended targets when bombing the Earth, intending to expose the interior of the Earth (he wants to go to Agartha, doesn't he?) The missile impact made the land nearby it weak and fragile, causing separation of the African plate, and burying Buried. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Rift ... al_concept) Still doesn't explain what an American Wild West town was doing in the middle of Africa.
  5. Eminem - Won't Back Down Go ahead, hate me for it. 8-)
  6. Not sure if you wanted to add this to the part about the booze and candy, but both items will respawn once for free every round. I'm sure everyone knows that already, but maybe not. Thanks for piling this together way. You've really been on top of Buried (ironic I know lol)
  7. I get what you're saying about how you think they're the same person, but clearly the journal entry from Al I posted above disproves it. I'm not trying to shut you down, I'm just giving you my honest opinion on the matter. We know that journal entry was made before Al was killed, this before the start of the time loop. And yet he's referring to someone else as the Editor. So clearly it wasn't the time loop causing this as you first suggested. And as for Al having some sort of multiple personality disorder that caused him to create both "Weasel" and "Editor" personas, there's absolutely no evidence for that. And that's what we're about here at CoDz, in-game evidence. A theory is very thin without it. Like one of our member says "substaintial claims require substaintial evidence". And that's what this theory is missing. Sorry if I sound rude, but the theory doesn't quite add up. BTW I know you don't know, but I have a pretty strong grasp on the storyline of zombies. After two years of studying and researching it, you tend to. I'm well aware of when it began. Thanks

    Marlton Quote

First, here's a part from a post I just made on another thread a minute ago. But now, another quote about the comic book in Buried? It just seems like a pretty big coincidence if you ask me. Suddenly that "far out" theory of mine about the impact of the Mob of the Dead on the storyline seems to be becoming a bit less out there. Either Treyarch is trolling us on the Al's comic book thing, or there's definitely something here.
  9. I love me a good Richtofen quote reference. Seriously though, that's all that evil rat was good for, funny quotes. #teammaxis
  10. This is quite interesting, but there's some things that confuse me. Do you recall this journal entry at the Zombie Menu screen from Al? So you're saying when Albert wrote that entry in his journal about getting revenge on the Editor when he gets out, he was actually referring to himself? But he didn't remember it because of the time loop? I don't really get why he would refer to someone else as the Editor. Also in the same journal entry, Al mentions he still has to gain the trust of the other mobsters, so clearly the cycle had not yet begun. This journal entry alone puts a lot of holes in this particular theory unfortunately. Or maybe I misunderstood what you we're saying? It appears Al's impact on the overall storyline is not that significant. If you'd like to have a theory on Al's significance in the story, you should focus on his role with the comic book. (“If my comic books are right, then this has to be one of the most powerful weapons in the box.”) [tab][/tab]If you absolutely had to have a theory on it, you could say that us redoing the events of Mob of the Dead, changed the events of that night. Instead of Al being killed that night on the roof, they make it off and onto the GG bridge, where Al kills the three instead of them killing him. He then went onto to publish his comic book. Given the time frame of Mob of the Dead as somewhere in the early to mid 1930's, Samantha Maxis would have been born around then and could have possibly read the comic book as a child. And that's where Samantha came up with some of things she did, like the mystery box for example. It's a very far out there theory, but if you wanted one that'd be it. As of now, Mob of the Dead has been unrelated to the rest of the zombie maps as far as storyline is concerned. It may have been part of the reason Treyarch chose this particular time frame to begin with. It doesn't mess with the current time frame, coming before the start of the current Zombies storyline beginning in 1939. This was an interesting read, thanks for posting.
  11. Storyline - 10/10 Gameplay - 8/10 (had to take off points for TranZit. Love everything else.) Ranking System and other features - 2/10 (Implemented horribly. Feels like a half assed attempt at a ranking system. Custom game options are nice though.) OVERALL - 9/10 Honestly, I love what they've done with zombies in Black Ops 2. The storyline is incredibly detailed and complex, and has been a great continuation from the previous games. The maps have been extremely diverse and fun to play. You gotta give it to Treyarch for coming up with such great maps still. My only complaint is the ranking system and stat tracking features, but considering I don't really care about rank too much anyways, I only took off a point. Overall, I'm very happy with BO2 so far.
  12. I'm glad you agree that Maxis isn't just doing this to be evil. That was the point I was trying to make. Richtofen has malicious intent, Maxis does not. You can say Maxis is just as bad as Richtofen, but your reasoning is flawed.
  13. An evil villain destroys the Earth to destroy mankind. An antihero destroys the Earth to accomplish another goal, while sacrificing mankind. Maxis' purpose is not destroy mankind, it is a side effect of his ultimate goal. But I look at it like this: it's a world of Hell on Earth with Richtofen, or no Earth at all. Thanks, but you can spare me the misery. That'd be like standing in the line at the DMV, but NEVER moving forward in line. Hell on Earth? Yeah, I'll pass. And if you don't think that Richtofen plans to enslave mankind once he's in full control, well, then you don't know little Eddy that well. Let me present the situation to you in another way, that most of us could relate to. Your the character in that zombie movie who was just bit. Any zombie movie. Do you take out your pistol and shoot yourself before you're impending doom, or do you take your own life, on your own terms, and decide you own fate. [tab][/tab]If you're like every character in every movie, you'll end your own life before being changed into a freakbag. The same rules apply here. Do you help Richtofen and cement your place of impending doom in his personal hell, or do you take the other option, help the other guy, and end things on your own terms? (possibly killing the guy that wanted to enslave you in the process) I'm not saying there won't be some big plot twist on DLC4, that he wants the power to enslave mankind too and wants to rule the world. But as of yet, Maxis has shown no evil intentions. A debatable laugh on Moon is just not enough for me, I base my opinion on Maxis on much more than a select few pieces of information. I need some sort of quote or radio or file or something that proves he has some sort of evil agenda. Something. Anything. Once that material presents itself, I'll open up to the possibility. Maxis may be selfish and hellbent on saving his daughter and getting revenge on Richtofen, but these things do not make him "evil" (especially when compared to Richtofen's action. BTW, people really need to stay open about to the possibility that Maxis may not go through with his plan, or that something could occur that could stop him. It's the final DLC on the third zombies installment, and it may even be the conclusion to the current zombie saga, so I'm staying in the "anything can happen" mindframe.
  14. If Russman is Brock, he did one HELL of a job changing his voice from a southern American (Almost Cajun-like), to a strong British accent. That file name is certainly interesting, but I just don't see any aimilarities between the two. Like at all. Maxis' voice sounds much closer to that of Brock's, but I don't see any similarties beside that. Plus, Brock says he learned about Zombies from "writings", and he didn't recognize the name Richtofen. Doesn't sound like Maxis to me. Just my two cents.
  15. I give it a 9.35 out of 10
  16. Not to sound rude, but you have no idea exactly what either Maxis or Richtofen will do once we complete their goals, it's still very unclear what position Maxis will be in if he succeeds in his mission. It's also unclear how Richtofen will rule his new world, but I can promise you this it won't be pretty very the people under his rule. Listen, I know every one likes Richtofen. It was everybody's favorite character to play as, I get it. He had funny quotes, everybody liked him. And people will continue to defend him because he was their favorite player in Black Ops. But if you had been following the actual story of Zombies since W@W (aka like Tac, MMX, and I have) you would look at the whole Richtofen vs Maxis with a much more open mind. If you honestly think Maxis is bad and Richtofen is good, you need to go back and do your research. Sorry.
  17. Honestly, I don't think he would make everyone his slaves. That's probably too boring to him. Better to have a fighting chance. Even if everyone was a slave, there is always still a chance. Richtofen has made his goal very clear by now: He wants to control the living, not just the undead. N4 help Richtofen complete his goals, the Earth is healed, and Richtofen controls this new world. N4 help Maxis, Richtofen's "New World" is destroyed. Richtofen has been telling us since Tranzit what his intentions are. "You will be the hero that has saved all of the Earth... FOR ME TO PLAY WITH!" - Richtofen. Tranzit.
  18. +1000 To everything MMX and Tac has said. I'd rather be dead than be a mindless slave to some phsychopath. Enjoy being slaves to that Rat.
  19. Real or fake, if it's got PTG's name on it, I could care less. I'd rather go on unsure than use that child as a reference.
  20. This certainly is an interesting take on what Element 115 is.
  21. Welcome to CoDz Fortune! Enjoy your stay, and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask! :)
  22. From what I've read, the Vril-ya were an ancient subterranean race that only inhabited Earth. Vril technology supposedly helped power a rocket to the Moon by the Nazi's, but the Vril-ya never actually went there. Not discrediting the possibility. Just providing my input. And I'm not totally against returning back to Moon, but they'd really have to add ALOT in terms of map and gameplay features to justify playing in a old map.
  23. Hahaha trust me I know exactly how you feel Risk! A couple weeks ago I thought I had MotD all figured out, but doing this quote analysis has really made me rethink things. It seems like both the Warden and Ferguson are involved in this story of Mob of the Dead, but I still can't see how they're all connected. Ferguson obviously plays a large role in the story, but I think the Warden does have some sort of role in the story, even if it's a small one. Oh, and these quotes do go in order of course, so if you want to hear one for yourself, it should be a bit easier to find it on the video. I'm gonna get some more analysis done this weekend, hopefully I can
  24. You cannot enter the Afterlife before leaving the island to finish the EE unfortunately. It will let you do every step but the last step, boarding the plane when in Afterlife.
  25. If there's any relation, it's yet to be seen. There are certainly some similarities like the ones you mentioned, the electricity and the fact that they look somewhat alike. But there hasn't been any actual evidence to support the theory thus far, as for now it's speculative.
