  1. when did they go back millenniums, there is a fairly modern radio both during the eclipse and in the time our heros are first there Yes but that's during the eclipse. When they first teleport and Richtofen's original trip, they are thousands of years ago. The Rock hadn't hit yet.
  2. Well, the might not be emp'd, it depends how many megatons the nukes explosion was equal to.
  3. It must have been something different then I know I recall seeing that exact symbol, I will go search for it.
  4. I would want a Bioshock map. of coarse But I think if could work really well, I mean you could easily transform a bioshock area in to a map with a few tweaks. The guns could be the bioshock weapons and you can buy them off the wall, and instead of Pack a Punch you get Power to the People upgrades like in the game. And the boss could be a Bouncer walking around like G. Romero. They are just alike in gameplay! Neither attack you if you don't attack first. The roar to disorient you. The use melee attacks only. They run really fast when pissed. They would work the exact same. And instead of a wonder weapon, you get to use the Big Daddy Drill and of coarse we have zombies instead of splicers.
  5. It's part of my crazy theory Porter was at the Pentagon.
  6. I just thought it was cool and wanted to share. Makarov's NATO codename, KINGFISH, comes from the test missile part of Operation Fishbowl. It was a nuke in their high-altitude missile tests: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Fishbowl
  7. yeah it is pretty awesome, but I wouldn't say overpowered.
  8. Sounds cool, it would be fun to play. but HOLY SH!T round 50 sounds like a mad house of impossibility!
  9. I believe what is implied is that the telescope was developed at Area 51 decades before it went into service, and was being used to investigate the moon base. this is a bit out-there theory of mine, but I think that living organisms might not be able to teleport very well. I don't know if the Americans ever actually got their teleporter working, I have very serious doubts since we don't see any signs of them in Griffin Station (that I am aware of). I think that certain... modifications must be done on a living being to teleport them effectively, otherwise they are grotesquely transformed (fluffy) or lost in the Aether (Richtofen's first teleportation, possibly Yuri dealing with a Gersch device, possibly Maxis). The exposure to 115 in each of those characters would allow them to be transformed or aether-ized rather than outright killed (as happened with other test subjects) I think that the experiments Richtofen had been doing on Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, and Sam enabled them to teleport safely and effectively. The reason the teleporter was at Area 51 was to attempt to scale up the pentagon portal projects with a massive teleporter of their own, but I see no signs that it was functional. Only zombies created from corpse exposure to 115. No, the Americans got to the Moon, in project NERVA, Faust posted I believe it's stickied, the logo or symbol is on almost every zombies breast-pocket. The Wave gun is also evidence going off the theories that CODZL is after the discovery of Moon and preparing to go.
  10. Ok, I'd like to give some credit to aegis's post about the earth not totally being destroyed. I made this topic to address something new that supports that theory. 1962 OPERATION DOMINIC: OPERATION FISHBOWL: STARFISH PRIME Operation Dominic, was the name of a project, where the US teased 36 nuclear weapons, within this, was Operation Fishbowl. The goal of operation fishbowl was to test nuclear blasts at high altitudes. They used Thor rockets carryon W49 warheads to high altitude and implode them. There were five rockets Starfish Prime, Checkmate, Bluegate Triple Prime, Kingfish(MAKAROV), Tightrope. The most infamous of these tests, was Starfish Prime. July 9, 1962. EXACT TIME AND DATE: On 9 July 1962, at 09:00:09 Coordinated Universal Time, (which was 8 July, Honolulu time, at nine seconds after 11 p.m.) They imploded it a 40 km altitude, creating a blast of 1.4 megatons. It created a giant red cloud and accidentally EMP'd part of Honalulu. So what does this have to do with zombies? Well, let's see. The characters, have been jumping around through time and different dimensions in-between every map. And it seems everything seems to be constant with our world except what they effect. So anything is really possible. All that it has to be for sure, is that it must take place after 1945 approx because I estimate sometimes around then, Griffin Station was overrun. So back to the nukes... 3 Soyuz rockets are launched at the earth, during what is very likely the cold war, from what we see at Area 51 with F4's and Blackbirds(both jets serviced around 1960 so fits into time frame). The cold war is when both USA and Russian are at their peak in nuclear weapon defenses. So let's see, 3 nukes are intercepted in the Earth's atmosphere, in the middle of a time period when the govt. is doing several nuclear weapon tests, seems like the PERFECT coverup! This would explain where the sky is just red at area 51 and there's no physical damage! The nukes were intercepted and covered up with the Starfish Prime and other tests! There's suspicion anyways on why all other Fishbowl tests had rockets that came closest with near megatons of blast while the SP had 1.4 megatons blast. It's the ultimate coverup! This could completely change our understanding of the time frames of the maps! This would imply that Five took place AFTER Area 51! And there is NO evidence that they didn't, since know they have been jumping, jeez they went a few millennium's back in Shangri La, a matter of months wouldn't be a stretch. So what do you guys think? Do you think the nukes were intercepted and covered up before hitting earth and what we thought about Area 51 and Moon's time is wrong? Or is it just how we thought? Sorry for all the overload of info. I just got a rush of all of these ideas.
  11. Well to whoever said that the nukes were to kill the zombies, it's pointless because they will just be able to reanimate because of the 115. The Radiation is the nukes most lethal weapon, since it lingers years after the blast, while that cannot kill what is already dead, and of coarse Maxis would know this so he wouldn't waste them like that. And Aegis, I have a theory I'm posting as we speak which backs up what you said that the nukes imploded in the atmosphere.
  12. Sorry if there was a more solid theory, I just really wanted to get this done, and didnt have time to look trhough alot of the terminal stuff and such. Thanks though, is there anything about Takeo that I should know beforehand? No there's not much with him except I heard this good theory I don't remember by who though but it was that stereotypical japanese Takeo was just a side effect of Richtofen's experiments and his real personality was coming out as it wore off. Because of the quote by Richtofen about takeo as a test subject muttering proverb, "I believe our tests may have destroyed his mind" For extra info on the characters see if there's anything in Matuzz's character bios in the Research facility that might help.
  13. Well it's pretty mainstream because it is backed the most by the evidence we have. I hope it doesn't die, it's probably the largest description of the subject that we have. My only question with virtually no hint are, what were Maxis's targets? We know he wanted to destroy the earth's population greatly so Richtofen would have almost nobody to rule over, but where did he hit. My best bid was he hit the largest capitals in the world to have as big of an effect as possible on Earth's population. Imagine playing in Zombie Paris now after it's been nuked, and in a radiation suit. It could give a whole new edge to game.
  14. Really? In my experience I've always seemed to down myself in just 2 shots even if they aren't point black, then again I haven't used them in a while on non-flopper maps.
  15. I'm just add what I have to say into this discussion: First off, YES, nukes can do that. Nowadays, an ICBM like the Soyuz can carry many warheads. You see, nukes are not used 1 per missile any more, that was in the Hiroshima days. Now nuclear missiles have several nuclear warheads in the rocket fairing programmed to break off and spread to hit different targets. So three packet nukes could easily create a hole in the atmosphere and destroy most of north america and europe. That's what we were all afraid of. And What Maxis did, was not to spread 115, it was to destroy the earth if Richtofen was able to access Sam's power. Sam had been saving the world from creating devastating weapons with 115 by using the zombies, while Richtofen would use the undead to make him the ruler of the world. Maxis could not allow this so he programmed the rockets to launch so there would be no earth for Richtofen to control, ultimate sacrifice. And the only ground breaking proof we have that earth can still support life is the fact we went back to area 51. Maxis, used to rockets to destroy kill all major populations. One consequence of this, leaves Richtofen with almost an entire earth of the undead. BUT, there's nobody to control, just drooling zombies. Leaves the story open for some BIG twists and turns and epicness b)
  16. Well, that's the exact time I'm talking about, if you're cornered the M&S will down you when you shoot them, maybe if you hit them good and fast you can hit a guy coming in in front of you but that's all I can think of for saving safely without flopper. I guess they're just more of a gamble.
  17. Challenge Name: Lander Rider Requester: BlindBusDrivr Expiry: Whenever Mode: Solo Ascension Description: You have to ride the Ascension Landers 1000 times in a single game, but you cannot ride them with a crawler, it has to be mid-round. This could be really fun and it wouldn't be like some ridiculously hard challenge like get to round 1 billion with a colt in the spawn room :/.
  18. I really like your theory for nikolai, it's the first one about his capture I've seen. But I believe Dempsey's was answered in the terminal, he was sent in first to get Peter, when he was captured he became one of richtofen's test subjects and then the rest of the extraction team had to go in for them both.
  19. Oh yes, I love space race history. I know it's not really related but if you want to know some cool stuff look up the Me 262 and the Horten Ho, those were the two REAL super aircrafts of the Germans air force, good thing for us they never got much service. They kickstarted the aerospace war between Russia and the USA. But about the Moon, I read (I've got this GIANT encyclopedia on Aviation History) that after we had completed out landing, the Russians stopped working towards that, and mastered rover technology, and one supposedly covered like 100,000km of the Moon's surface, perhaps this is how they found out about Griffin Station in Zombies? It's still funky the story of how the completed what they did at ascension but I guess it's supposed to be since that technology isn't even possibly to create.
  20. I'm sorry to ask, but really how useful are Mustang and Sally on maps when you don't have Flopper? Because I know they can be used well without it in skilled hands, but it just doesn't make sense to me because I normally use them to clear the way when I get swarmed, but, on those maps I would down myself anyways so what's really the point? I know they can be used to kill trains to but on higher rounds it takes a lot of ammo and I've had crawlers with them as early as 18, I just don't find them as reliable out of sticky situations on 30+. Maybe if there's some tricks to them. The only maps I really love them on are Ascension, CotD, but that's mainly because I never get the Thundergun on Ascension and CotD has no OH F### weapons as I call them so I don't really have much choice. But I must say they saved my ass a good half dozen+ times on my trip to round 37 with 400,000 points.
  21. I like the Thundergun the best still IMO, The Wave Gun a close 2nd though. why- Shrink Gun, you need to kick them, and they must be VERY clustered up, so your gonna hurt yourself a little while doing so. Winter's Howl: You need multiple shots to freeze them, fire cap, etc. it's just not that good at all. Scavenger: No infinite damage, shot delay. Wunderwaffe: electricity must chain and zombies have to go through zapping animation so you can't keep running through them+ Plus if there's a full spawn, trapping you in a corner you're gonna need 3 shots cause of it's 10 zombie kill cap per blast, so i.e. your either a leprechaun or you're dead. Ray Gun: No infinite damage, just makes crawlers for the most part round 30+ VR11: If you're in co op with someone else who understands it's strategy, it can be very useful, but not to the degree of others and often it's hard to hit the person because they won't stand still for you to shoot. So yeah every other gun has some delay the Thundergun makes up for with instant effect. Nothing saves you ass as good or has as wide of a hit radius. It's only drawbacks are low ammo, but any wonder weapons suffers this, and no reloading, but besides that it's the best IMO. The Fractionalizer may have a bigger FKC, but it's hard to achieve and involves getting hurt when kicking them so that's a big minus. Also, I never understood what's with all the big love for the Wunderwaffe as the best, I understand it's really cool and the first infinite damage one, but it's just not as good as some of the others. It's reload is a whole 6 seconds. It takes time to zap, in WAW it can take away Jug, It's got a 10 kill cap, so i.e. it takes 3 shots to kill a max spawn, just a lot of flaws like that.
  22. RPK, I could care less for the extra ammo, the RPK shoots faster, reloads faster, and has lower recoil. It just has a quicker feel. And on the rounds as high as the HK's damage is superior, I would choose neither for scariness of ammo(only from Max ammos, never good on high rounds) and low mobility.
  23. Everybody has always thought of flopper just as an interesting perk and a way to keep the M&S and Ray Gun from downing in really stupid ways. But in the story of Ascension, it may have a much more important role. So in Ascension, in part of it from Yuri's radios he talked about 'blasting primates into the atmosphere', this as we all know, or should, is him talking about how they were using a special Soyuz rocket series as the platform for taking their space monkeys and landing them on the moon to bring back 115 rocks so that they could create the Gersch Device. This was the Ascension groups task. After Ascension went to hell they fled to another branch of the Russian Space Program as seen on 'Executive Order' in the campaign. But that's another story, were talking about those cute little zombie monkeys that take your damn perks. So what do we know that Flopper does? 1. You are not hurt by falling(impact/forces) 2. Cannot be hurt by explosives(heat resistant) 3. You create an explosive on impact(channels energy outward instead of through you or straight down) Now, this may solve the mystery why the landers don't have a top on them: Due to Flopper, the Monkeys can survive re-entry to the atmosphere! They just need the lander as a propulsion device! They can't just jump over a million millions pulled between Earth and the Moon's gravity. So that's the landers purpose, the monkeys just free fall from there. With Flopper they can 1. survive the massive heat from the speed of re-entry. 2. They can survive falling from the edge of the Earth's atmosphere. 3. They made that cool explosion when they hit 8-) (personally this one was added for just gameplay reasons, but may have another purpose) So basically, PhD Flopper, is the amazing 'tool' which the Russians used to allow the monkeys to go to the moon and back with the least tools possible. Monkeys are lighter than humans. Can be trained easily. They are smaller. Like Rebirth they get their monkeys cheap from the Russian Zoos. Monkeys are more expendable. The rocket can have a smaller fairing. The lander is smaller and uses less fuel. ETC. Here's how this works. 1. The monkeys are bought from the Russian zoo and shipped to Ascension facility. 2. They are trained for their task. 3. They are loaded into the rocket with their equipment. 4. Rocket launches them into space. 5. 2nd/3rd stage ignition takes them into moons gravital pull. 6. The lander is used to slow their landing on the moon, so it doesn't destroy itself, now it can't drink DR.Flopper and be fine now can it? 7. The pick up the 115 rocks, monkeys are attracted to shiny objects anyways I believe, or is that birds.... 8. They load them up the landers storage back. 9. It powers up and rockets them out into Earth's atmosphere. 10. They jettison themselves from the lander and splash to the earth. Ready to be used again. 11. The lander's pieces are scavenged and the rockets are taken from them. *the probably landed crashed outside of ascension where all those rocket piece are 12. They use the recovered 115 to work on Gersch Device experiments and then the monkeys go on another mission. It's messy, but hey, it works. Why the landers don't go very far at all on Ascension before refueling, is likely because they are just test models, use cheap fuel, and gameplay reasons. This also explains another thing, THIS: These monkeys could have crash landed somewhere. Something tells physics don't apply to well in shangri la because the fact that a meteor the with a diameter taller than the man falling from space only breaking part of a temples structure...so yeah, let's disregard that part. So these monkeys, miscoordinated their landing and ended up here. Since they were infused with the Flopper, they survived it and tried to scavenge bits for their lander. Perhaps this is why the want you power ups and take off after it is stolen. very strange, perhaps this shows power ups hold more than we thought. So a lot of questions answered, and a lot more opened. Let's give a hand to the epic PHD FLOPPER UPDATE: I can't find a picture at the moment, but the monkeys actually flop! When they do that jump that stuns you, they are actually using the flopper to create a shockwave to stun you. So it's basically confirmed, the monkeys at Ascension were given PhD Flopper for their flights. hope you guys enjoyed and had somethings answered :D
  24. Apology accepted, but what is shvine :?: Idk richtofen yells it when a crawler bites his leg on some map... Quote:"get off my leg shvine!" Oh, I believe he you mean "Shwine", It's the German word for pig.
  25. Apology accepted, but what is shvine :?:
