I used to be like you Boom, the guy that never backs out. I just can't stand it anymore.
I agree with you on that Chopper. I am getting my sleep in installments some days. Tired after work, so have early dinner , sleep wake up after 4 hours, snack, play for 2-3 hours, then sleep for another 3-4 hours. So, To make the most out of those 2-3 hours, I try and not spend too much time to find the best group of randoms with mic, like I used to.
-
Finally hooked up my 360 late around 12 midnight, after taking a 3 hour nap. Played with few ranodms, none had mic. 2 had knifes and other was skull like myself. Had a decent start, went down trying to activate gen 4 and got picked up by knife guy. I did decent when panzer showed up, fortunately had enough to buy jugg and stamin up, got a few revives in the process and knocked panzer down after a few mins. 15 plus rounds, I was spinning box, got everything, including ray gun monkeys and galil. Random went down by tank near Gen 6, picked him up, he goes down again because instead of following me he went the other way where all the zombies were coming from, after 3 more downs he left the game. I was pissed off and I left as well.
Then I played some Multiplayer with infest.
How many games like this do you have? It is not really the fact that quitting mid game fucks up high rounds, it is the fact that once the teammate leaves, there is no integrity left in the game. The other guys with knives were busy building staffs and leaving crawlers mid game which was bit iffy to me but I was okay with it.
One reason why I got sick of zombies is that there is no challenge left. I am not a fan of any other maps at the moment except origins. Can't deal with building stuff and simply want to shoot heads. The only fun/challenge left in game is to use new papped guns and revive people in heated situations.
This is why I play lone wolf in the team at the same time I listen to their rules but waiting 5-10 mins after end of each round is just too much for me and makes me quit.
Having done pretty much everything, What do you look for in randoms when playing origins? I apologize for terrible wording/formatting. -
Definitely Remington ar. I am in love with that weapon, the sound the accuracy reminds me of acr and commando. Other than that may be a shield with damage counter to know how many hits it can take before it breaks like in extinction mode. C4 should be an instant kill any round and you should have two of those ;)

I like your second post.

I am never as happy playing zombies as when I pack a punch my starting weapon M1911. Other than that I also like PAP'd commando. AK74u. I kinda wanna pack a punch Remington AR from Ghosts

100 is good. Steve and chopper had like 300 plus I think with speed cola.

This needs serious updating.

Turned is big pile of shit for me, not fun at all. It mostly involved killing human players that were turned into zombies. And the guns in turned are total shit. But I see why some people like it.
-
This is why we need a gun game in the next zombies game. It is very fast paced and a ton of fun to destroy and set new leaderboards.
Those who never played it basically you need to earn certain amount of points to advance to a new gun. And you have several weapons before you beat the gun game mode. Different perks/boosts in this game mode is just an added bonus.

Modding is like a drug... you do it once and it starts to become addictive. Sithbas' Shangri-La video looks very suspect indeed, and the fact he took 4 hits before lobbing a grenade without going red (to apparently deactivate the mod) before going down is kind of obvious, but why if he deactivated the mod does he not then get back up from having QR!?
I have monkeyed around with the pc black ops quite a bit to know what really happened here. Apparently when you Activate God mode, your quick revives do not work even if you deactivate it any time during the game. Meaning you only have one life after you deactivate god-mode, regardless of how many quick revives are left.
I am confused about it, but at the end of the day, it was not a WR game. Still... for someone who runs a WR site, it is not something they should EVER be doing.
Sithbas currently has a WR game going on Moon (170+ maybe) , so after being proved that his shangri la game is "not legit" by wings, any WR's where he has not LIVE STREAMED a single round will not be trusted as they could have been hacked. This is why they are making a big deal out of it.
Just keep in mind Sithbas has not updated his own records to zombie records site because the site has a reputation to not approve anything that is under speculation even if it involved staff or founder itself.

Ya that pad strategy is great for near 300 kills. I've gotten close to 250 - 290 games several times using just that, but it feels terribly slow for some reason, and the spawns can some times fuck you up. Don't stress too much, now that you got the strat working, it will be easy for you to top those kills.

I maintain that the best way to play Origins is to rush to round 8 with Jugg and an MP40 and learn how to get it done.
It's really not that hard once you learn it, and after that you are so much more comfortable playing that map. If you do everything beforehand, and then go down on round 8 anyway, you have just thrown so much time away. And I don't believe that there's anyone out there who hasn't done exactly what I said.
I am a victim of this. I have spent countless hours getting set just to quit on 10, 15, 20, 9, I mean spending an hour to battle panzer is easier than rushing to round 8, spent 5 more mins to kill it.
Nice one chopper.

I agree Chopper is pretty chatty, so is Eye, and so am I

Like you said, I try to be quiet most of the time and contribute to the team silently and make big plays when needed. I have like a bit of an alarm system when I play zombies, when 1 player goes down I have an orange flag, ok, calm down with the kills, help the others who are reviving, perhaps the closest one to them, but if you have spent enough time in the game, you can tell what are their chances of reviving at Round 22 on five with 2 ppl in war room (outside pack punch), me in speed cola and one in basement. When 2 goes down I often try and communicate with the remaining player that something needs to be done either on his end or mine, and I personally try and do the dirty work of grouping the zombies while they get the revive. This way, if needed I can clutch the game. yes, I like to be the Last man standing, and when I am in the trolling mood, I kill all the zombies but one and blow myself with a grenade.
When I play with friends that I know are good, it is mostly like a social gathering, Instead I like to be aggressive, steal them kills, get the most headshots or simply stay calm and collected if you know that your team is going to count on you.

I agree with most of what you guys said regarding legitimacy and proof. This is why live streaming games is an only Sure way of proving someones high rounds are legit and valid. Not everyone has the hardware (or internet upload speed) to stream, so you can't blame what they post or upload as proof. This is the reason I mentioned the task of maintaining the leader boards is laborious and painful. I used to be staff at that site when BO2 was still hot and trust me the process of verification was not easy. There were so many people that cheated and uploaded first room records and high rounds that were later removed.
I really hope treyarch adds some sort of anti-cheat system in their game that actually works. Something like theater mode but more reliable.

Thread unlocked.
Please note that we always had a leaderboard thread for high rounds which was not being updated for some reason. Regardless of the fact that Sithbas glitched or not, that site has several other records which were considered legit. But, in any case we can resume our leaderboards thread here if we need to track high round records.
Time permit I will create a new thread or we can update the existing leaderboards thread with new records. Keep in mind that it is quite laborious task and requires a lot of effort.
-
Hi and welcome back. I do remember you although I doubt if we ever talked. Lots have changed as you can see. We now have a new site which means lots of bells and whistles to play with.
We have unfortunately hit the off-season and Treyarch is busy with nothing apparently. So we need our forum mates to brain storm as much as possible and come up with new ideas/maps and games.
Once again Welcome back Fisheh.

I need to review this thread until then I am locking the thread.

You pretty much nailed it Jarhead. Solo does tend to be boring. But to some people that pursuit high rounds as their passion or a challenge, it might be fun. For example a round 100 on Buried or ascension does not give same satisfaction as a Round 100 on Origins or Shangri la or a round 200 on Kino. Solo speaking.
Speed runs are a different animal. They are actually most fun for solo because you are on the buzzer.
I admitI have not made a high round run in a long time because of amount of time it takes and partially due to boredom. However it is not always boring. Let's take origins for example, That map has a mind of its own. You are never too careful on that map. Getting a 100 on that map deserves an achievement.
-
Pinnaz thank you for all this mate. Seriously you have put in great amount of work. I love this library.

So Let's define the difficulty instead of saying which one easy.
High rounds to 100: Easy Solo
Co-op to 100 is almost impossible although I have seen people reaching round 100 in KINO spending countless hours/days.
Dealing with number of zombies at a given time: Co-op is easy
Zombie spawns are distributed in co-op for 2-3-4 player compared to solo. Therefore you have to deal zombies spawning everywhere as you kill if you don't know how to kite them or group them before you take them out in groups which is the commonly practiced strategy for high rounds unless you are using traps. This can be a bad thing for co-op for a small map like NDU where there is not a lot of room to train zombies and it is chaos everywhere even though there are more players.
Getting Revived: Co-op is easy.
Like Chopper mentioned even with half decent teammates your probability of getting back up is much higher in co-op games repeatedly unless it is a combination of very high round and a tough map. Eg: Round 57 2 player on origins with panzer on your ass and your partner is down. Solo restricts you to 4 downs and you are out.
Time: Solo is easy.
Solo high rounds are generally faster to reach than co-op for almost every map. We all know how long co-op games take. People have gotten Round 50 games under an hour for solo where as co-op games take several hours to complete.
Strategy: Solo is easy.
There are certain strategies that need to be excelled in order to combine zombie hordes before taking them out. Eg: Call of the dead strategy using VR11, Trap strategies for Five as there are no high round insta-kill wonder weapons. So definitely co-op is tough on that. COTD solo is an exception for solo as there is no insta kill wonderweapon for solo.
Lag: Solo is easy
Most people encounter lag in co-op games early than in solo. I have occasionally seen lag in call of the dead and some other maps specially in black ops when you reach 30 plus rounds for co-op. I don't remember if this is the case for black ops 2. Although someone pointed out that lag is directly related to usage of box, more you spin the box, more lag you get. This is why lot of high round people stick with effective trap strategies or rely on max ammo drops during boss rounds instead of excessively using mystery box.
Boredom: Co-op is easy.
We all know co-op can be played with friends and randoms, so there are things happening spontaneously example someone going down and being revived, although it is challenging to revive, it keeps you on your toes and it is less boring. In solo, even if you are a good player it is dead boring to repeat the same thing over and over again.
Based on some of the above things you can conclude what is easy for you.
Sorry about the poor structure of the post. I had a heavy lunch and need to stay awake.

Round 97 Ascension. Late and about to call it a night and pause the game, but decided to spin the box before I stop so I can get thunder-gun back. Died with one zombie left.
Next week I started again and got my highest round ever 141.

For the love of god why wont I rank up

The ranking system is not broken but poorly maintained. There should have been some sort of tracking system to see how many points or kills you need to get to next rank. Wait for the next zombies, we shall have it.
