Wow.... I didn't even notice this. Good find, I'll add it to my thread too. Nice work. This could further confirm my theory. Also, the skull can mean doom or chaos, so this is very nice. I'll give you brains when I can again. [brains]

Shangri-La Trailer Alternative "Welcome To The Jungle"
graymonkey44 replied to carbonfibah's topic in Shangri-La
I'm not really talking about the irony in the lyrics, but just the song as a whole. It's like an old folksy type song that came out like 60 years ago. It's slow paced and kind of a heartening and uplifting song. Kind of the opposite feeling when you're blowing zombies to pieces. Hell, there is irony in the lyrics right here. "Near the village the peaceful village The lion sleeps tonight Near the village the quiet village The lion sleeps tonight" Peaceful village? That's got irony written all over it. -
Shangri-La Trailer Alternative "Welcome To The Jungle"

Very nice. That song just gets you pumped up for the map, whereas the treyarch's original song has a certain irony to it. Each song has their own different flavors, but I enjoy both pretty well. [brains] -

Really? That's your contribution? Damn man, why didn't I think of that? My mind must have not been able to process something so insightful. Do you think they just put random symbols into maps for no reason whatsoever? If you're not going to post something contributing, then don't post at all. -
Actually the never said it was smaller, they just said it was tighter and not so open like call of the dead was. So, in theory, it could be the same size as COTD, just a lot tighter spaces, possibly a huge labyrinth?

There's gotta be some way to decipher the name if it really is the new gun... that's such a mouthful to say. Not to mention it does sound kind of stupid. Everytime I get it from the box I'd be like, "YEAH, I got the THIRTY ONE DASH SEVENTY NINE JAY GEE BEE TWO HUNDRED FIFTEEN!!!!! AWESOME!!!!" Just doesn't sound right. Maybe it's not even a gun. Maybe it's a certain part of the map if it's set up labyrinth style or something. And at the certain spot there's a trap or a sequence we have to set up to unlock something or WHO KNOWS!!! MY BRAIN!!!!! CAN"T!!!! HANDLE!!!!!! It's gotta be some sort of code or something.

That's actually a pretty interesting idea you just put. No one thought that the V-R11 would make your teammates invincible, what if this gun does the same? I mean not necessarily make your teammates invincible, but maybe give them some sort of power-up? What if it has an opposite effect on the characters and turns them into giants! Or maybe make your weapons more powerful like a temporary Pack'a'Punch? That would be pretty awesome. Here's my theories on the new weapon and map in general: It will definitely be used to complete an Easter Egg(It has to) I think that there will be another wonder weapon in the map that is more for killing, it could still be an old WW like TG, Winter's howl, Wunderwaffe, Scavenger; not necessarily a new one. I hope either monkey bombs make a comeback, or a new distraction grenade makes a comeback(although the matryshka dolls could be nice for those tight spots that jimmy's talking about) The new achievement: Monkey See, Monkey Don't (5G) – In Shangri-La, get something from the monkeys. I think this will have to do with the easter egg... acquiring something.... most likely in conjunction with this achievement as well. Time Travel Will Tell (75G) – In Shangri-La, acquire the focusing stone.

Maybe it's a new perk machine? At first I thought it was juggernog, but juggernog is red at the bottom and white on the top and this seems to be the opposite. Also juggernog has that circular symbol on the top. So it could be some new perk machine?

That's an interesting take. I never thought about it like that, but it seems plausible. -

Well not necessarily and I sure hope not! I'm not saying this is all going to occur on one map. I'm just saying maybe this is direction the story could be going into. I don't think everything's going to come together on this map and there will be a huge conclusion. You know how the storyline has been so far. Very ambiguous and in incremental. I really hope that a 4th map pack came come out before MW3 comes out. -

Yeah, it just stuck out to me for some reason the first time I saw the trailer. My initial reaction was that it was the Star of David and I wanted to post, but I searched for a picture of it and it didn't come up looking like the symbol in the trailer, which brought me to where we are now. But what about you're saying with the 8 essences and the weapons, I wasn't referring to all 8 as being an individual weapon. I was referring to the original characters in conjunction with the weapons. The characters could be these parts Tank/Nikolai- ego Takeo- spirit Richtogen- intelligence Gersch/Samantha- Ether And the 4 elements could be the weapons that you posted. I was thinking maybe there's a little easter egg in itself, similar to COTD, where you do a bunch of different steps and then something happens, maybe in relation to Richtofen. People are hypothesizing he's using the golden rod in order to do something BIG, possibly take over the world or release samantha. So I'm thinking maybe he uncovered some ancient religious artifacts and it says he needs these 8 different energies in order to complete this task to rule the world. -

I see now, I don't think it would be impossible for treyarch to do that, though. They have a new gun that turns zombies into babies/midgets for christ sake! But I do understand what you're trying to say now. I might have been coming off as a little defensive, but that's how I am. I was looking at the 8 different energies from a literal point of view, whereas you were looking at them from a more metaphorical point of view. Neither of us are right or wrong at this point. I just hope at least some of the information I found has some part to do with the storyline or map. It'd be awesome to predict something like this before it even happens. -

I never said my theory was based on islam either, though. I'm just saying that's where it brought me when I first started looking. I even said that Morocco didn't fit the setting of shangri-la. If you actually read any of the websites I posted, you'd see that my influences are from Samkhaya philosophy from Hinduism. That's where it deals with the 8 points of essenes and all that stuff that we both agree on. I never said any of my ideas were set in stone and I eventually came up with the same conclusions you're saying anyways. I don't understand how you'd say I'm far off. I think you're taking everything I'm saying too literal and not understanding my conclusions. -

Well if the 8 point star was introduced by Islam then it obviously came after Judaism which is the basis of Christianity and Islam. It wasn't introduced in islam. "The eight-point star was used as a symbol long before the rise of Islam. An Italian nobleman named Pietro della Valle discovered the use of an eight-point star as a seal in the ruins of the ancient city of Ur (~2000BC)" Regarding the star of david "The hexagram does appear occasionally in Jewish contexts since antiquity, apparently as a decorative motif. For example, in Israel, there is a stone bearing a hexagram from the arch of a 3–4th century synagogue in the Galilee." -

Where did you get the information that the Star of David came before or was influenced to make the 8 point star? I'm pretty sure the 8 point star came way before the star of david. Also, if the venus star represents doom, why wouldn't it be a fitting theme for the map? Doom could represent the 4 characters, or richtofen's plans are going to be doomed or maybe doom for the zombies. It could so many different possibilities. Also I never said that the star meant that there would be chaos or anything like that. I was just telling you the steps I went to end up where I was. Just because there's one single part to what I have found, doesn't mean that the whole map or whole storyline is going to be centered around doom or chaos either. I respect your opinion and I know it's easy to mistake the symbols, but I think you're off with the star of david part. And can you say I'm so far off if you're taking from things I say and using them for parts of your theory? -
I kind of understand what you're trying to say.
-
I'm not really sure where you're going with this. You're comparing still all the old waw maps to the black ops maps and then to the single cotd map? You're theory doesn't really particularly make sense, honestly. There isn't a pattern at all. Kino only had TG and monkeys Five only had winter's howl and monkeys Ascension had TG and gersch device and the dolls The dolls weren't even new in cotd. The other 3 maps didn't even have a 2nd wonder weapon. Jimmy did say we were getting new weapons so you could base your theory off that, but not by what you said. With that being said, I do hope we see some new weapons and grenades.

I don't think he's being racist fella, he's just pointing out that his Moroccan theory is backed up by the different type of Zombies in this map and their dress. Good find in my opinion. [brains] Thanks for understanding my point. Maybe he's the racist himself for interpreting it that way. [brains] -

Shangri-La new gameplay discussion thread!
graymonkey44 replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in Shangri-La
That's what I kept thinking, but the more I look, the more it seems like it could just be the Olympia upgraded to the hades. I hope it's a new weapon though. Also with the spike trap, the zombie that's chasing him is the same one at the end that glows blue and stuff. The traps probably can't kill him. Maybe he's like the theif in 5 and he can outrun you and you have to use the traps to evade him, which makes him take a different route. -

Now that the new map has come out, it seems like my theories could more than be a possibility. There's Moroccan influences look at this new boss type man.... and then look at this... Any similarities? -
what happened to the zombie storyline????????

www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtop ... 69&t=12532 Here's my theory based on the new trailer. I thought it was a pretty good theory but no one really seems to be commenting on it. It seems like the story is going to go on a religious/supernatural turn, I think. Tell me what you think.
