When I wrote up this thread, I was assuming that we'd be encountering a different kind of CoD zombies rendering the original perk system useless. Now given that we know we can expect the original 4 player co-op zombies in BO2, we still have no idea what to expect when it comes to the 4v4 style of game play. I don't want Treyarch to change ANYTHING in the original 4 player co-op version of zombies. Though, adding a few new things wouldn't hurt. But with the new multiplayer engine, I'm expecting the unexpected. Who knows what we'll encounter. Maybe this armor idea would be useless and redundant. But then again, it may be useful. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I for one am DAMN excited to play it. Especially with now seeing some leaked images...(not the one on the tv set in the living room) but the ones that show what some of the maps will look like. There's one image that looks like a post apocalyptic city of Asian origin. There's one that looks like it's raining...which I've always wanted. So I'm SUPER stoked for this.

Let's use our imagination and see how we can make this idea better. So if it's a buzz kill that the armor would replicate the perks, let's leave the perk system alone and give the armor something else. Chain Mail Armor: This armor revives the player. Unlike the perk "Revive," it allows you to get downed 3 times without losing any perks. Crystal Armor: Killing a zombie surrounded by other zombies allows you to damage 2/3 of the surrounding zombies. Up to round 9 it kills the surrounding 2/3 zombies. But it costs 15,000 points so you probably wouldn't even be able to afford it by round 9. Those two are really lame idea's, but if we collaborate maybe we could come up with some really good ideas. Also, there could be an extremely expensive piece of equipment that allows you to combine the armors and reap the benefits of them all, while still having perks..making you damn near invinsible. These things would cost a lot though so you'd have to be on some really high rounds. Maybe you can get armor in the beginning of the game, but it would be like some leather bullshit armor. Then as the rounds progress, and you start gettin paid like a president, you can buy all these new armors and attachments and accessories etc.
-
Especially if you could customize your armor. It would have the PaP skin but you could customize symbols, logos and colors.
-
I like the PaP idea. Pack a Punched full body armor. That would be so cool. And maybe the PaP'd version of the armor has some special ability. There would be different kinds of armor so depending on which one you have equipped, determines the special ability you obtain when you spend the 5000 points to upgrade your armor. One PaP'd armor makes you jump higher, and there would be Easter Eggs that would require certain uses from the different armors. One armor makes you run faster, a different one allows you to carry more items/weapons, etc. Could you imagine if Treyarch already had this discussion, and BO2 already had some sort of system like this? It would be so cool.

I was just playing Shangri-La and caught an old quote from Tank while getting hit in the leg by a crawler. He says "When's Treyarch inventing shin armor!" So I got to thinking...in MW3 during survival mode you can buy armor which allows you to take more damage. What if in BO2 there was a similar system, but all armor...for different parts of the body. Normal zombies hit your upper body so a torso piece would be equipped from the armor box for a certain amount of points. Crawlers hit your legs, so a leg armor could be equipped from the armor box for a certain amount of points. Nova crawlers spew toxic gas. A gas mask would be in the armor box. Helmet's, arm guards, gloves, footwear, goggles, etc. OR, there could be a mystery armor box that would equip a random part of the body for the standard 950. But let's say it's a dog round and they hit your legs. You hit the box and get a helmet...which obviously wouldn't be protecting your legs. Well, it's a thought. And I'm sorry if this kind of thread already exists. If it does, feel free to delete this one, or move it to the re-run thread category of the site.

I hope the zombie mode for BO2 isn't like just one big map and the DLC's just allow you to open new parts of the map. It's starting to sound like that to me. It would be cool if they had that, PLUS more maps. Like one giant map for the zombie campaign with DLC added sections, then for the normal 4 player co-op zombie mode, they have different maps again. I guess we'll see.

The hidden song enigma
ZombicidalManiac replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in General Zombies Discussion
lol the reason I added them into the mix is because they had two songs for CoD zombies. So with the introduction of Trent Reznor in the zombie world, it would only be fitting that they be involved in the mega epic finale song. But without offending any Avenged Sevenfold fans, I have to agree with you. They were my least favorite part of finding the hidden tracks in zombies. Not a fan of their music. But I'm also not a fan of screamo, and I loved Elena and Kevin's work in zombies. So who knows, if all these guys got together for an epic collaboration track for the last zombies map DLC for BO2..it could be the greatest thing you've ever heard, blowing your mind and causing your brains to leak out of your ears, while your pants to fill up with a brown mashed potato-like substance. Don't knock it until you try it..or in this case, heard it. -

The hidden song enigma

That would be really cool if that kind of music played during certain rounds. Maybe dog rounds or something. But for a hidden track, I'd like to hear a full length song, with lyrics and the works. Wouldn't it be cool if Trent Rezner, Elena Siegman and Kevin Sherwood, AND Avenged Sevenfold got together for one massive track? Maybe for Black Ops 2 zombies final DLC map they could have an epic collaboration for a zombie track. That would be rad. -
Zombies: Time Setting During Black Ops 2

It's hard to tell without seeing the actual article. I'm not saying that your not telling the truth, but for all we know you may have copied it wrong or simply misread it or something. But it's possible that your sink water was switched to alcohol that day and you got drunk accidentally, causing you to hallucinate this fake article your talking about. But I would like to see us back in the WW2 days with zombies again. Though I would like to see where they would take it if it was in the future too. It would be cool if they moved around a lot in this game. Like one map is in the WW2 days, one map is in the 80's, one map is in 2025, etc. It would also be cool to check out hell and Aether as well. It would be cool if the guys got sent to hell and had to kill the devil or something lol...or maybe not. It sounds cool to talk about but it might not make such a great map. -

Nobody knows yet if they'll have Elena Siegman and Kevin Sherwood doing the tracks. But we DO know that Trent Reznor will be heavily involved with Black Ops 2's soundtrack. Oh there WILL be hidden tracks in zombies again. Mark my words. But by who. At first I thought zombies couldn't work with any other composer besides Sherwood and Siegman, but when I found out Reznor was doing the music I felt better. Just think Nine Inch Nails meets CoD zombies. That's some heavy duty stuff right there. -
"How about a present"
ZombicidalManiac replied to Humble Soldier's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I've been watching full length videos of multiplayer videos for BO2 and I gotta say it looks promising. My favorite multiplayer is from COD4 and all the other CoD games multiplayer doesn't really do anything for me. So you can see I'm not much of a fan of MP. Zombies is what I want. With all the MP footage that is all over the net, you'd think they'd at least have a zombie fart at the end of one of the MP vids. But they've been extremely secretive about zombie mode for some reason. Must be some serious shit in the works this time around. Worst Case Scenario: We don't see anything until Black Ops 2 official release. Best Case Scenario: We get a full-on WAW style trailer that makes our brains explode! -
That would be cool I guess. I remember always trying to be Richtofen on Shangri-La because he had the golden rod to do the Easter Egg. And when I play Call of the Dead, I always try to be Michael Rooker. So yea, character select would be kinda sweet.

What BO2 Zombies will entail

Im going to have to go ahead and say...this all sounds REALLY AWESOME!!! If it all panned out like that, I think every zombie fan would be in CoD Zombie Heaven. Great post! -
Good idea for a new max ammo round?
ZombicidalManiac replied to scoop1215's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I like it. Have a round where it gets foggy with rain and lightening. Have a horse come out like death with the grim reaper on it's back. If u do enough damage they go away and leave a max ammo. Cool beans! -

ZombicidalManiac replied to CLAYMORE's topic in General Zombies Discussion
if you'll notice, that light is directly in front of the sun, meaning it's just a photo glare and nothing more. But knowing Treyarch, they probably did it just to mess with us..or to let us know zombies will be returning. -
Good Idea/Bad Idea?
ZombicidalManiac replied to ZombicidalManiac's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yea I see your points, and I do agree. Though maybe this type of thing would suit another game with zombies. Hopefully when that Walking Dead game comes out it'll be somewhat like the comics. Games are getting more realistic every year, and though zombies are no more than a horror story, I'd like to see a game that captures the real terror of the movies and comics. Thanks for your input though guys. I like to see how the community thinks...we're the ones writing this story. -
I always wondered what zombie mode would be like if you could kill zombies with one head shot no-matter what round it was. Traditionally, zombie's go down with one shot to the brain. I know it's a game, and if I'm going to ask questions like that then why not ask questions like...how do the guys know how to use cold war weapons when they're from the 40's? Or how a box containing weapons, appears and disappears randomly throughout the maps. Or how zombies exist at all. So I won't bother getting into that debate. But as fans of CoD Zombies (like I know you/we all are,) do you think it would make the game better or worse? Personally, I think it would make the game much more interesting. The rounds would go faster, and it would feel real (in a way.) But I'm not sure if I'd get tired of a one shot to the head kill at any round. Maybe if there was an on/off switch you could select at the beginning of each game that enabled one head shot kills. Kind of like how in some games you can turn aim assist on and off. I dunno, it's something that has been on my mind and I was wondering what you guys thought about it.

A theory for Black Ops II
ZombicidalManiac replied to novazombie115's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Maybe the girl on the poster is Samanth's daughter. Maybe Sam wound up living into adulthood and found a husband and they bumped uglys. -
Though it's an interesting concept, and may very well be implemented in Treyarch's new title, I wouldn't like to see a level up system in zombies. At least in the original concept maps. Treyarch did say there will be the original style zombie maps (like the ones in WAW and BO) but they'll also have different game types. So I can see a spec-op style and multiplayer style of zombie gaming on the horizon. Leveling up will most likely play a part in the different game types.

There's something wrong with the Earth!
ZombicidalManiac replied to Rissole25's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I just realized after reading this thread that the map is called "Moon." Not "The Moon." So this could mean that it's another planets moon from another part of the galaxy. Who know's where they've been teleporting to. -
So let's say shangri la is on mars....
ZombicidalManiac replied to Pistolwnage's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Welcome. And there is no proof that Mars has anything to do with the story, that's all speculation. But if it were true, the possibilities would be endless.
