361 Kills on NML, New WR & WORLD'S FIRST EVER 360+ Game!
Tom852 replied to Superhands's topic in No Mans Land (NML)
That is indeed a very tricky part (considering mainly kills) for which no guide exists! -
Nice Work!
-
Isn't it dangerous to hang out for very long in a one way area, just to lead the astro there?
-
Something around 12-13h if you don't pimp around.
-
Monkeys, cause it needs team work to protect the machines and you get an awesome reward (free perks). As well they speed up the whole game.

Great Cut there!! Nice to know is also that u can use this without jug.[At full health while no sudden following hits are predictable] Some dumbasses in front of you, that you cannot dodge in Round 4-5-6? 1 shot and you can go thru. Of course it has to be used carefully, no matter with or without jug.

My dream team is either: a) Me and hands and 2 super dumb randoms, that never leave, and that you have to revive in really difficult situations. or me and 3 epic pro's, while doing a certain challenge, such as first room. or c) me and hands while doing a high round attempt. Sorry, but I DONT want a certain team. When I play with randoms, I WANT the surprise. When I'm going for something serious, I wanna play with chosen people.

The Trinity - Super, Chopper & Tom's guide to Shang 100 p2
Tom852 replied to Superhands's topic in Shangri-La
I don't understand, am I supposed to open a P3 with my thoughts and scenes of my 100 run? -
Big congratulations for this quite ultimate achievement. There are not many that held this record, and you're the one holding it... Sry but I do not find the words to honor this properly. That's just fucking epic shit man. How did you feel after you did this? It must be an incredible state of mind at this point!

1: Pistol 5: Sickle 10: Box with target for: either: easy combo for the sickle, e.g. Python or Cz (shoot, finish with knife) or the Ballistic upgraded itself. or: get a setup like: a) High damage, i.e. Wondergun - including Ray and M&S and stuff Point Builder in case of Mule: c) Something else that extends my strategy and playing options, or just a slot that allows me to keep my M&S for later Of course it depends on the situation and everything. As always But I normally try to have one damage gun and one point gun. 20-30+: All guns are focused on damage, but also keeping sometimes one slot for strategical matters. That means, I wanna have the infinite damage wondergun, the Ray Gun, the Mustang and Sally, and a LAW upgraded. Whatever falls into my hands is used. But in some situations, e.g. Shangri La, the Reviving Gun can make sense, or a crossbow to save yo ass. If the tactical gun is used or not depends on the Map and on the teammates. 40-50+: Either I have the Wonder with infinite damage, then it's the only thing you use. Or you don't have it, then it's Krauss (fast run + revive) and Crossbow (Distract). In case Mule is available, probably a Ray would be the best 3rd gun choice. As well, it also depends here. COTD has other options and properties than Kino...

*Super's Hybrid 90 Sec PaP Strategy; Kill-Maximising Method*
Tom852 replied to Superhands's topic in No Mans Land (NML)
On PC it's btw kinda impossible to stab. I sometimes manage to do it while backing up at max distance to the zombie. But it's really difficult to do ;) -
I know exactly what you are talking about. They buy an M14 and another off the wall weapon, then they find the box, and their pts are at 0 all the time. Whereas you have 5k and have to open all doors... I just open them normally, because you get your points back quickly. I also like to buy the sickle, just to reduce points. It doesn't look then as you would be a point whore. If it is too crazy or if I need my points for something specific, I still can try to bring the argument, that I have already opened 5 doors, whereas all other 3 players have opened maybe one door. Quite often it helps. But in the end, it is normally not such a big deal. Especially if the box has not yet been sighted, doors open basically by themself.

I always loose my tertiary slot gun, exactly what Murder described in the mystic map. The 1 or 2 times I thought I lost another, I probably just forgot what my tertiary slot is. Or there is indeed some small chance of messing up your gun order slots.

Can I throw in a question? Is this about the difficulty of the game, or is it about the length of a single game?

Here's the Situation (New Situation)
Tom852 replied to Ehjookayted's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Hehe, it's a tricky one.... I'm still waiting for my input on it. Still struggling with it. -
I'd be very very sceptical... It seems, that your processor also acts as the graphics unit, as far as I interpret my google research. I'd be very cautious. Maybe you got an option to test it or something?
-
That's a good idea Matuzz. I'd support it. If you need to bring over the next 4 5 6 hours, go for softcore. But if you just wanna do a quickie, go for hardcore. Actually an idea with potential.

No Man's Land Frustration and Support Group
Tom852 replied to perfectlemonade's topic in No Mans Land (NML)
After I went with Super's Hybrid, I noticed, that this is my gate to 300. I knew, that I can do it. But I didn't get it. I just failed all the time. Up to a run where I had 10 shots left or something and 290 kills. That is the run to do the 300, isn't it? No it's not, you instantly mess it. I had to spend 3 days playing only NML, till I finally got my 306 kills. I was not satisfied, and went on playing. The next run with Jug and good Spawn was another 300+. Seriously, I failed in about 50 "Jug + Good Spawn" runs before. But once the pressure is gone, it was no more problem anymore. I think more than a lot has to do with self consciousness and self confidence. Maybe we should think about, how to make people playing NML self confident, and not going into it with a lot of frustration. -
NOOOO! Leave zombies as it is. NML is indeed a great example, but it should stay some kind of side challenge. All the 10h sessions I've done, they were just awesome. I mean only in those long games, Johnny forgets to turn off his mic. He keeps it on, while he is on the phone with his girlfriend. And you can hear it all... Such stuff is just epic and zombies is the only game I know where this happens. This is also a situation where you can make new friends. How should to meet new virtual friends in quick 5-10min NML sessions. You meet them in 10h sessions. But on the other hand, I totally understand you. Just yesterday, after 1.5hours with randoms on Ascension. I had to say "sry guys, I leave, I'm bored".

Call of the Chopper - guide to 50 with video included
Tom852 replied to Chopper's topic in Call Of The Dead
I did 40R in about 2 hours George didn't give me Waffes again, don't ask me why. But at 45 I finally ran out of ammo and it became too dumb. I was more or less supposed to do the easter egg with 20 crawlers and 4 runners. So i started to hit the box for a VR, also in hope for a new scavenger. But it got really too dumb. The Box was evil all the time. After I didn't get a Scavenger, neither a Ray or a VR, I aborted. I mean tell me how to do midround box hits on top of the Lighthose in acceptable time.... If I knew that, I would have prepared the egg earlier. My plan was to do the egg up to the last fuse step, and recycle all guns: Famas, ray and scavenger. Then finish 45 with the egg's waffe. In 46, George would respawn. So quickly rape him with the G16-G45 or what this thing is called. Use Waffe again. Then use the recycled unpapped Scavenger. Should have done it for 46. Pap the Scav, and use it for 47. At 48, George would respawn. Last George ammo was 44, so hoping for a new George ammo and then it would have been no prob. But in speed run matters, uff, i had to abort it. Seriously, doing an easter egg in a speed run? Dumb map for solo after 40... I guess would have taken up to 3hours to reach 50 (and i really hurried all the time with everything). I was at 2h20min in mid 45, had to to easter egg and recycle 3 guns. Maybe 20min for that and then another 15 for 45 - 49. -
Ranking database for various challenges

Aight, then I think we are on the same line I couldn't see his link, so I didn't know what was going on there. I also think, that it cannot be when you have to register. I thought it's something like my example. Sorry when I was a bit harsh. -

Waaaait a second. I think the advertising stuff is meant mainly for stuff like I do not interpret all links to external sites as advertising. You could interpret every YT link as ads if you want it like so. A user made zombie related site out of competition to CODZ is in my opinion absolutely ok. Or to be more precise: A user made site, that increases the features and offers of the CODZ community. I also advertised external sites. I would have done it here on the boards, but unfortunately I didn't find the JavaScript function... See here: viewtopic.php?f=62&t=11026 Have fun deleting it, but I don't know how many people came to CODZ by finding this topic on google. They might now be active and registered users. That topic has 2500 views. A website still offers more options (forms, drop down menus, interactivity, tables, php, JavaScript etc.). It is actually contra productive, if you have some absolutely bull*** looking tables here, where no one finds what he actually looks for. A link to some well done external, non competitive, user made and user administered site is there a better image for CODZ. A solution for all could be to implement those things to the Homepage. Which would actually be awesome. -
You know I can't give you often brainies, but have some for this ;)

NML high-kill analysis - find out where you're going wrong
Tom852 replied to Superhands's topic in No Mans Land (NML)
Well what I can say you is that the zombies spawn behaviour follows theoretically a certain scheme: 1. Spawn everywhere 2. Spawn only from right hand side 3. Spawn break 4. Spawn everywhere 5. Spawn only from left hand side 6. Spawn break repeat You can see that well when you step on the pad with a deathmachine. However, in a real game, you don't notice this so well, since you often use the spawn breaks to gather and organize and stuff. But you can still notice, that suddenly you walk 2 3 4 turns of your circle and no one is coming. Or you notice that not a single zomb spawns at your side drop and anyway you get a full wave in the end. The question is just, how to make use of that and how to get the timing for that. Respectively, how this behaviour ends up when you play for real. All I try to do so far is to use the first spawn break after the second nade (at 1:20-1:30 or something) to kill all my crawlers, so that when my pap is finished, I have a beautiful train together. But already there, it seems a bit random when this spawn break ends and stuff.
