Why is there no double zombies XP weekend?
The Clay Bird replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in Research & Development
This. One of the major appeals to Zombies is the fact that no matter your playing level, when you play or when you don't, you can get the exact same equipment as anybody else, given time in a single match. A customisable box/attachments, while some may think it would be 'cool', would destroy Zombies the way we know it. Half the point of the box is it's unpredictability, a true random weapon. Even if you think your system for it is balanced, it could NEVER be. Changing weapons up removes the equality in the game. Why would that matter though? Would that not be incentive to play more, build xp and have access to new weapons? The system works like a charm in MP, it would work just fine in zombies. Zombies is a team game. You aren't playing against other players (grief excluded) you are working with them. Because of this, 100% equal balance among players isn't necessary for the game to still be fun and fair. Its understandable to have concern over adding something that's never been included before, but don't act like simply adding to the wealth of available weapons at your disposal by way of ranking up would in any way break the game or make it unfair :edit: I am totally in agreement with stop mocking me here. I don't think the idea is to add unlockable wonder weapons that will drastically alter the difficulty of the game. Its like at level 40 you unlock the peacekeeper, and it is now added to the box. so what you've unlocked is just a chance to get a certain weapon out of the random box. Just like the PDW and Chicom etc. the peacekeeper would become rather ineffective in higher rounds, but it gives you some extra variety, gives those who really like the weapon in MP the chance to get it in zombies, etc. The impact on gameplay would be minimal if not zero, and the replay value would go up. -
Wait where does it show this in BO2???

Why is there no double zombies XP weekend?

I disagree chopper, but only under the terms that nightmare mentioned above If they used a ranking system more like multiplayer, where you gain xp level up and eventually prestige, then im all for it. Although I agree with you chopper that it should mainly be non game-effecting stuff like cosmetics that you would unlock, but if it was straightforward and noy cryptic like the current system, i could see it easily working to unlock guns in the mystery box, sights/attachments, etc. give me 15-20 prestige levels, with various different unlocks, i can totally see the replayability of zombies go even higher than it already is (which is very high lol) -

well if the eyes are what was gone, that's simple to understand, the tally marks and eventually blue eyes are awarded for consecutive days played (which is a stupid thing anyway but that's neither here nor there). Now the actual rank system? that's far more rubik's-cubian to understand -
playing tranzit, trying to get set up on round 4 while trying to teleport to town to add a jet gun part (because i've never successfully built the jet gun) a denizen scratches me twice and im dead (had jugg) 30 minutes of my life i can't have back.. Oh, the accomplishment was not throwing my television out my window

Ditto, weekends are busy and not much to do on weeknights other than hitting the gym, Lately I am scanning for tv - shows once the baby duties are over. Currently watching Masters of Sex and loving it *TMI* I believe they did a double XP week once before, but i don't know what the occasion was. But again, i stress they should leading up to AW launch do a FULL ON DOUBLE XP WEEK ON ALL PLATFORMS FOR ALL GAMES COD4 - GHOSTS! how awesome would that be! to go back and have a little more traffic on WaW or Cod4 or BO1 and get to prestige another time or two? Thats one thing i absolutely loved about MW3 (only thing probably) was the double xp leading up to it and getting an in game perk of some sort for prestiging in the past games. I thought that was brilliant and excellent marketing

I still think we're over thinking this Anything that is time specific is out.. thats not possible Date specific? not impossible but 21 months after the games release? about as impossible as you can get w/o being 100%

I usually buy the season pass. many many people do. I also play MP, so i buy the map pack for that aspect as well. The zombies story has in no way shape or form ever influenced my decision to buy a map pack. per example, MotD and Origins, arguably may not have had anything to do with the "canon" story, but the game play in both is enough for them to be worth the purchase. Gameplay>>>>>Story.

Extinction - Why YOU Should Give It A Chance
The Clay Bird replied to Naitrax's topic in Extinction Mode
I appreciate the sentiment behind this thread, and I tried the new map last week, and then again last night... Maybe i'm just way too horrible at it, but I feel like the hit detection is absolutely horrendous. point blank shots with pistol not hitting, and getting mauled by 3 jumping orange guys I've never made an escape... do the DLC maps just all get so much harder that you literally have to have leveled up and prestiged multiple times to have a chance? ive tried solo and co-op. There's just not really anything fun about it to me. Customization and unlockables does sound really fun to me, but when the process is to long and frustrating, it makes those not worth the trouble for me -
are you kidding? You buy the DLC for the same reason anyone who buys modern warfare dlc or any other games dlc. Its new content and new maps! I really think especially here at codz, that we overestimate the average (average meaning non-codz member, just plays the game for fun) cod players familiarity and obsession with the zombies storyline. Sure they may be aware of some aspects, but a map like mob of the dead and origins, for the casual zombie fan was probably a "clean slate" situation especially if BO2 was their first zombie experience. If continuation of the story was so vital to the enjoyment of zombies, then how are there so many thousands of new people that start playing with the new release? I knew tons of people who never played WaW and started with BO1, and many more that never touched zombies until BO2, and especially the ones that started with BO2, had little to no background of why the earth was fried and who these people were, yet still had a blast and got hooked...

"If you go there now something will be up and running...But stay to the path. Don't go hunting." yeah that was a week ago... nothing has been found. Idk why he insists on posting those things... whatevs lol

i didnt get to play as much as i wanted, but i flipped over to 6 prestige and gained like 18 levels. not too bad for only playing maybe 2.5 hours. i wish they would do a double xp week, because i am rarely free on the weekends yet have untold amounts of free time during weekday evenings

Paris doesnt seem that interesting to me. :/

Yeah i noticed that later on! Pretty awesome, i think the last time they had 2x xp going for both last and current seasons game was back before MW3 if i remember correctly, and they had 2x XP going for BO1, MW2, and WaW, because in MW3 you got an extra token or something for each game you prestiged in over that time. I thought that was a fantastic idea and great marketing. finally prestiged again during that time in MW2 and got max prestige on BO1 thanks to that weekend

BUMPITY Double XP AND Double Weapon XP go live in Black Ops 2 here in about 15 minutes. Plus a Nuketown 24/7 playlist. Just prestiged yesterday so hopefully i can get another one in by monday. (even though i prestige mastered last year then did a fresh start)

Ha didn't even think of it being a passive-aggressive troll by JZ to try and take away attention from Ghosts and Extinction dlc. Idk if there's any merit to that thought, and I really doubt its to up the play traffic on black ops 2, its been pretty steady for months now, (and last time i played both back to back, BO2 had more than double players online than ghosts *kermit drinking tea*) No idea why he spends time doing stuff like this tbh

Wut that didn't make sense, Im assuming he was referencing The Dark Knight lol
