So you're saying every zombie player is going to boycott Treyarch's next Call of Duty if this map pack isn't 100% zombies. Where the hell did you get that from? It's business. When you grow up you'll understand, champ. No but most of the zombies players will probably say screw it and either just get the base game and no DLC or just avoid it all together. Also the grow up comment, maybe you should grow up before you assume someone is younger than you, champ. average number of players online at a time zombies: 70,000 average number of players online for multiplayer : 400,000 as much as we like to think that zombies is a wildly popular game mode on par with MP, the fact is it just isnt, its still a extra or bonus mode. Is it more popular now than in the past? absolutely! but as a zombies focused website, we sometimes fail to remember that CoD is multiplayer first and foremost. I do agree that when you look at 12 mp maps being released as dlc so far, 13 with nuketown. plus the what 16 or so on disk? that makes 29 maps. you'd have to play for hours and hours and hours before youd play all of them. so with that said personally as a MP player i think we have enough maps and would not be offended if the map pack was all zombies. I also do not expect that though, and expect a standard 4 mp maps, plus zombies, maybe they throw in a little extra zombeis as a bonus (weapon, mode, something of that nature)

OH MY GOD IN THIS MAP WE GO BACK TO KINo TO FIND THE PICTURES ON THE WALL HAVE ALL AGED HORRIBLY AND THEN SOMEONE DESTROYS IT AND WE ALL TURN INTO DORIAN GRAY AND THATS THE END I FIGURED IT OUT!!1!!!!!1! -
this is exactly what i'm fearful of...

you're more optimistic than i am. I think it looks awesome, but i am worried hoping it will play awesome. That gigantic robot really has me concerned

don't think the omission of five and cotd meant that some maps are coming back. notice the only maps they showed are maps that were directly related to our O4 storyline (yes cotd was but they were not playable it was a bridge between ascension and shang) just think it meant to show this is infact a prequel type map... the characters are way younger. i mean here's the thing. if the time frame is really 1915 ish, and our characters still looked to be between 23-35 years old imo... so in der reise they were near 60 years old? this has caused more questions than it has answered for me

New Trailer, looks like the O4 are back!
The Clay Bird replied to The Sauc2760's topic in Research & Development
Yep,just a little thing to make us wonder.Watched it.I wonder what it means? Is it the end?To zombies as a whole?Or just to Black ops 2.If its not the end I would be very happy but if it is..then its complete.3 games.6..or possibly 7(DOA) crews.17 maps. Two sides.1 ending?Every story has a beginning my friends...this is the end.Is it? no this is the beginning. hence the name origins -
we will be fighting the megazord in the easter egg for mp4 on the real though, i hope origins is the map pack name...
-
eh... glad to have the O4 back. They definitely look younger especially the bearded Nikolai. The whole going back through the old maps really makes me hope they are involved or included in some manner. I am not thrilled about a Giant Mechwarrior suddenly being implanted into my zombies franchise. I really don't even know....... Hope its good, but how in the world are they going to implement that thing into the zombie game play. what if this isnt even zombies at all, if its like a campaign stage that just shows how the 4 met. idk. i'm excited, but i dont know if i should be

This sums it up for me - wouldn't rule it out, but probably no seeing as there is nothing customizable about zombies to begin with. That just gave me the idea, they could really make some money off of this... Right now there is nothing customizable in zombies... but imagine if they brought micro dlc to it. gun camo's specific to zombies. ability to select which PaP skin you wanted when you upgrade. Download playable characters... There is soooo much they could do with that. Not gonna happen this time around, but for a future zombies game, that could really add some replayability in my opinion

Yeah I think when put together it will be the basis for the pattern used in PaP. An explanation might be that these runes were made by the Vril and then discovered carved in stone by someone (Maxis?) and then used on weapons to give them special properties, and they made a machine to apply the runes to weapons (PaP). PaP is powered by 115 though... Perhaps this is the camo for a new Vril-related wonder weapon? Or (less likely but a cool thought) an alternate way of upgrading weapons, using Vril instead of 115? I didn't mean to suggest it had anything to do with pack-a-punch or upgrading weapons at all, I just meant its simply a pattern that is wrapped around these items like a weapon camo or anything else.... :edit: also 900 posts! lol -
Ehh, that's overanalyzing it. I think the point is that he's getting a very small number of points, and since he's Marlton he had to use a "nerdy" word or phrase, such as "micro transaction". Most gameplay-related lines serve only for comic relief purposes, or to give the player gameplay-related tips. They usually don't allude to future DLC. As far as I can remember they have Never alluded to future DLC in in-game quotes, mostly because the DLC isnt finalized when they are doing VO for the characters. So no, I don't think this particular marlton quote has any significance, but I wouldnt rule out some sort of zombies DLC in the form of a micro transaction or a standalone dlc map or something like that

looking at that, it makes me think this isn't a puzzle really, but it is a set of items that are wrapped with the same texture/skin like the WAW pack-a-punch pattern for instance -
There is no way they would release the DLC that late into the game's lifespan. I'm thinking sometime this month. Moon was released in November. Also, Buried just came out for PS3. For the Xbox? Moon (and the rest of Rezurrection) was released August 23rd. I thought that they had deadlines when they had to stop doing stuff, to make way for the build up of the following COD game. (I have no proof of that, i just thought I had heard that somewhere). Either way, I'm sure that we'll find out soon. lolol Modern Warfare 3 was released in November... Moon was 2 and a half months before that! lol. Anyway, we know for a fact that the Ghosts MP reveal is next wednesday the 14th. so unlikely that treyarch would be any announcing within a few days of that because that diminishes the hype around both announcements,. the week after next would be too close to the supposed release of the 27th. which makes this week perhaps the best option, and is probably why we've seen so much buildup over the past week and a half. I think we'll get something significant (official announcement, trailer, behind the scenes, something) before next week I could be WAAAAYYY off lol, but the recent activity makes me think its coming sooner rather than later
-
I believe we will be having a reveal tomorrow, based on what Treyarch has told us. Based on them literally saying "stay tuned tomorrow" I really do think we'll get a reveal or something of the sorts today. again, with the COD Ghosts MP reveal next tuesday I think this is the only time they can do it without getting lost amongst COD ghosts news, and if they wait til the week after that there wont be enough hype time prior to release
-
i have literally no idea about this.... but we're gonna find out more tomorrow makes sense since cod ghosts mp reveal is next tuesday they need to do something before... i think they are going to blow us out of the water personally . i sure hope so

Can anyone explain to me what the series on the left of the table mean? I cant find anything on how these older periodic tables were laid out or why? here's an exerpt from the wikipedia entry for groups (columns) and periods (rows) in the periodic arrangement of the elements. basically its just different ways of grouping elements that exhibit similar properties -
"Every story has a beginning" - DLC Zombie Hint?
The Clay Bird replied to bbobs2's topic in Research & Development
I'm thinking, especially because of the text of the tweet, that the video is just snippets of our story, and the "every story has a beginning" is hinting toward a prequel of sorts or a definitive "first map" chronologically anyway -
Man, I don't even know! although with the hints emerging that we may be playing as the O4 in the next map, it would make sense if that "chapter" of the saga is over, It seems very anti-climactic, and I'd hate for the fate of our N4 being sealed forever jsut because they followed the directions like we were supposed to. Id like to see some scenario where the N4 put aside their differences and discover through communicating amongst themselves that they may know more about whats going on than they are letting on, and in a finale map they have to fight to stop Richtofen/Maxis from actually succeeding in their plan to have total control For now though i'm voting that yes, this was our moon of sorts, and the next map will do more to set the stage for the next installment of zombies

What Would Make DLC4 Unforgettable?
The Clay Bird replied to Ehjookayted's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I feel like they finally in Buried started to develop some back story on how these characters met and what the story behind it all was, which finally started to allow me to "care" about them in some sense. And now apparently they're just done for and we're back to the original crew? makes no sense. I agree with you though alpha that we do need the old crew back, but it looks like we're going to get them back just far too late. Theyare already too far in with the new crew they might as well just go with it. if they wanted to use the old crew they should have at least included SOME sort of mention of them in the first 4 maps -
Thanks for sticking this Way, and again kudos to you BinSys I always enjoy your analysis as i am very interested in the guts of zombies if you will, meaning what makes it work. Just like duckcall's black ops zombies charts, this info is very useful! Keep up the good work my friend!

I love nuketown too, but they've gotten way too far into the large complex maps with complicated easter egg quests and its just too late to break that pattern. I'd love a pack with some smaller simpler survival maps, but the community expects something of absolute grandeur for this final map pack and a simple small map would not sit well with the community as a whole

Think we'll get a new image of some sort today? 3 weeks until the alleged possible release date, so if patterns follow we'd get some sort of official word next week some time? after the letters, the other two images we had seen at least partially via treyarchs twitter pics. I hope we get something! -
What Would Make DLC4 Unforgettable?
The Clay Bird replied to Ehjookayted's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I like how you brought up Der Reise in that it added something in the Pack-a-Punch machine that was a major game changer that became a staple in the franchise. Now since then there have been new perks of course, however really only a couple that have become staples like our first 4. and those really arent a new concept, just new ideas within the perk concept. Now we have buildables which seem to have become a staple as well, however sometimes i feel they are more of a nuisance than they are worth. They finally got back to basics in MotD and buried with the wonder weapon being in the box, and not one we have to build. I really liked the idea in MotD of upgrading a gun through multiple means i.e. acidgat kit and pack-a-punch. Here's my idea for an unforgettable dlc4. And it is probably a bit unrealistic, but it could be a major game changer. Two upgrade options. Now this could be gone about in a couple of different ways. The 2 i have in mind is either like the acid gat where you simply can upgrade the gun, and then upgrade it again into an even MORE powerful version. The other idea is 2 upgrade machines. one is the pack-a-punch, the other is a different machine and name entirely. And you as the player have the choice of which machine to upgrade your gun in, and each upgraded version would have different qualities. Now this may be an option that its simply too late for because the engine and design of the game make it impossible this time around. But I think that this type of major game mechanic enhancement could be the next major staple of zombies maps if they were able to implement such a thing -
Call of Duty Black Ops II Map Packs 4 and 5 Ideas
The Clay Bird replied to ZombieProject115's topic in Research & Development
Although I love the idea of a fifth map pack as well, I wouldn't want two zombies only map packs. Maybe mp 4 can be 4 mp maps and one zombies like normal, then one more map pack with one last new zombie map and then a few other classics perhaps... that would be the ideal scenario for me although its very wishful thinking
