smg's are just ok for me. I normally play hardcore TDM with my friends, and they just don't make much sense to me in that game type. Now if i'm playing kill confirmed or dom hardcore, then i will because of the great running speed. If i had to pick one i'd say the MSMC

Well friends, the verdict is in. Dragon and Cyborg camo's along with their respective reticle set and calling card are now available in the micro item store. if anyone snaps a screenshot of the reticles or calling cards feel free to share :) -
sorry for double post, but i have to deeply disagree here. I agree that kids need to learn responsibilities and to be able to separate real life from not real. Problem is, video games are now so advanced that they seem very real. and 10 years old, much less 5 years old a child is simply not developed enough or mature enough to understand that difference fully. I'm not in the boat saying that violent video games cause school shootings, but 5 years old is WAY too young to be able to handle the mature nature of call of duty, zombies or otherwise. 10 would be my absolute minimum age, and again, def. no live until high school. (other reason for that is out of respect to other players on live, no reason they should have to be forced to play a mature game with mere children) and to this: what age would you allow you child to start drinking alcohol. if as a good parent you can teach your child regardless of age to be a responsible mature person, 5-6 years old? see how silly that sounds? Kids brains are constantly developing, and THAT is what develops them into a mature responsible adult. if the parent teaches them its ok make 'i f***ed your mom" jokes and racial slurs, and even the kind of language the characters say, then thats how they will develop, and then prepare for the notes from teacher about how Johnny kept saying "FUCK YOU FREAKBAGS" at school today. /rant

Nice topic. I was 24 when i first dove into the COD series and found zombies on World at War. If and when I have kids of my own, I would probably let them play locally (solo or split screen) at 12-13. online once they are in high school. First off, I don't want to be the dad that gets embarrassed by my 8-9 year old parroting what they hear off xbox live lobbies. I know there are probably several board members here younger than 15-16 but despite what you might think, younger than that is just way to young to be mature enough to handle the stuff that is found in a MA rated game. I figure once they're old enough to drive a car, they should be mature enough to handle the things they would come across in a game environment like that

It's possible, but I can't say for sure. You ought to take a good deal of time reading this great thread by Requix: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=32282 Most catholic churches use the same chime. You may also hear a variation of the Big Ben chime across many college campuses. They're used to tell the time audibly, with each pattern occurring at a 15 minute interval. Once the hour has struck, you'll usually hear a dong noise repeatedly to indicate how many hours it has been since the new day. I'll read it once I get some spare time. Got exams next week and trying to do every MOTD achievement before the next DLC. (Only one left: Electric Cherry) unrelated but a tip on that elec cherry achievement? buy it and gather a horde and let them down you. it unleashes a seemingly larger radius of shock and seems more powerful too. i got that one by accident this way lol

welcome to CoDZ! in the context he said that in, it didn't sound to me that there was anything functionality wise on the map hadnt been found, but like WKZ said, storyline i think is what he was alluding to. maybe even more connections to draw to the original story line?

i also should be on.. GT is in my sig... if y'all need one feel free to send an invite and ill play if i can

best part?? that is the worst part!! that's the whole point of zombies, endless hordes of the undead. i was super pissed that the EE ended the game... everything else awesome... but i certainly hope that doesn't become the norm for the EEs

Zombies is Changing for the Worse
The Clay Bird replied to ETEl2NAL407's topic in General Zombies Discussion
If I perceive something as wrong, it's wrong for me and my perception is what creates my reality. It may not be wrong for you, but it is for me. For instance: Theft. For the shop owner that purchased a bushel of apples to sell and make money, a thief is wrong for taking an apple, but to the hungry thief it would be wrong NOT to steal the apple. We really don't want to start a philosophical debate about this...Wars have begun over such. I am not a person who accepts what others perceive as truth. I seek my own truth and I question everything. LOL well if that's how you feel, then we are just going to have to agree to disagree. nothing bad about questioning everything, but 2+2=4 is right 2+2=5 is wrong. its black and white. you may feel that treyarch has made poor decisions as a company in the direction they have taken zombies, but they are not right or wrong because it is a statement of opinion not fact. perhaps you just have a disconnect in the terminology that you are using, because i think I understand what you are saying, the nomenclature just isn't matching -
Zombies is Changing for the Worse
The Clay Bird replied to ETEl2NAL407's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Wait...I can't have an opinion about Treyarch? Does that statement make any sense to anyone else? Excuse me, sir, but my opinion can be whatever I want it to be, remember it's my opinion. Though you may disagree with my opinion, does not make your opinion anymore or less accurate than mine. These are opinions, not facts. We can debate all day about our opinions. I can suggest evidence that I believe supports my opinion, just as you can, but that evidence is not empyrical, scientific, fact that proves our opinions because opinions cannot be proven this way, only explained. For example: I love Lobster. It tastes great, it fills me up, it's fun to eat and crack open, and it's expensive so I feel like high society when I eat it. Here I have explained my opinion about Lobster. Someone else may hate Lobster because they don't like how it tastes, they don't think it has enough meat, they hate having to crack open their food, and they hate spending a lot of money on food. Do you see what I did there? You see, opinions don't affect the facts about anything, but the facts definitely affect opinions. Those opinions are completely up to the individual who has them, so I apologize if I come off as condescending, but I will viciously defend my right to have an opinion. i think you missed the point. he was saying in essence nobody can say treyarch is "right" or "wrong" because that is a statement of fact not opinion. you can say you dont like it or vice versa, but doesnt make anybody wrong or right. i say we get back on track discussing opinions of the direction zombies as a whole is going as opposed to arguing that someone is right or wrong -

the only point i was making was it seemed you were complaining about treyarch "sucking last bits of money out of us" but you complaining about how much you've already spent. Nothing wrong with spending the money if you have it and want the products, but blaming treyarch for wanting to make money and then complain abt how much you've spent isn't productive. Thing most people forget is just like banks, retail stores, manufacturers of any kind, Treyarch and activision are businesses and their goal is to maximize margins and revenue. No way you can fault them for that because its not a charitable organization. That being said, if they see an opportunity to make money they should take it. not picking on you, like i said if you have the money and want the items/products, go for it absolutely no reason not to, but once you purchase you (not you specificallly but anybody) forfeit the right to complain about the greediness or whatever of the company -
Zombies is Changing for the Worse
The Clay Bird replied to ETEl2NAL407's topic in General Zombies Discussion
This thread is pretty long and I haven't had a chance to read all the replies, but in response to the OP, I both agree to an extent and also disagree. I'll highlight just a few points 1) the OP stated he disliked the fact that perks are increasingly harder to get in BO2: disagree. the fact that they are in elevators that move up and down in die rise makes it EASIER to get them. think if you are on the roof, and need juggernog, if the loccation was static, you would have to manually run all the way around the map to the place it was, rather than being able to stay put and just wait til it arrives. the premise of a skyscraper map required some things to move vertically. In mob of the dead, the afterlife powerup of the perks isn't really much of a nuisance. not any moreso than finding a power switch. bottom line i think although Tranzit was a disaster of a map, die rise and motd have gotten back on track. only argument for it could be in mob, casual zombies players may not be able to easily grasp the idea of afterlife... but i think its pretty easy to figure out 2) The increasing prevalence of story and quests. agree here. the balance struck in call of the dead, shangri la, and moon was perfect. a casual player could play the map normally and have fun, and probably wouldnt even know about the EE and that was perfectly fine. The EE however had a great reward which incentivized players to attempt it and came with an appropriate reward for completion. Either way the game was the same and was equally enjoyable. Now like on tranzit, yes you could i guess just open the front door to the bus station, but the workbench and parts are all obviously a starting point and once even half way built, you hear Maxis and have "started" the EE per se. The EE and story and quests are TOO prevalent. This came to a crescendo in MotD where although they basically spelled out how to do it, you HAD to do the main quest simply to pack a punch. yes you can play without PaP but it is equally integral to the game as perks and the box now. SO: my conclusion is that excluding tranzit, the dlc maps are heading in the right direction for sure with the exception of the EE's We REALLY need to get back to the BO1 structure of EEs not being a requirement for success, but include a great reward to give incentive to complete it. This gives us a couple of benefits. those who dont care about story dont have to involve themselves with it, and those who do can.. also it may bring some into the story because the reward gives them enough incentive to try. tl;dr - better EE rewards, and more subtlety with the quests. -
I do believe this still works, as I actually gladly help people who are trying to get a 2 person game going by logging both my controllers in and backing out for them.. happy to help, but the point is, it shouldn't take a gimmick to start a game type that they obviously intended us to be able to play (hence the leaderboards)

First Impression on Mob of the Dead/Alcatraz Island?
The Clay Bird replied to Tac's topic in Mob of the Dead
looks like in the update they just released today, a lot of the glitches and problems with Mob of the Dead got addressed. Thanks treyarch for keepin it clean! :) -
Hacking and glitching will always occur. I do not see how removing a feature many people seem to truly miss helps the community. I now consistently submit player reviews for good and bad reasons. For the bad ones it is usually for leaving early. And the thing I enjoy the most is that I will never have to play with them again. Also the hope is that posting here might cause someone with clout to see it. And it at least allows them to possibly see and receive some input. When a Public lobby usually must have 4 players. And I may invite 3 other people to play in this lobby with me. And we can then load up a map to play. This means any glitchers can do the same. Eliminating our ability to play with only 1 or 2 other players is not eliminating cheating. It is eliminating our ability to truly enjoy the game. It is infinitely easier to hack a private lobby. For one thing you don't have to worry about other players etc. and for another you can run the show exactly how you want, without anyone watching in on you. Treyarch can monitor public lobbies; if they get any suspicions of a public lobby being hacked, they can check it out, and then deal with the perpetrator. People frequently and consistently complained about how the Black Ops leaderboards were hacked and nobodies high round were counting for anything, because so many people had hacked the game. Treyarch DID listen to the community; they made it far more difficult to hack the leaderboards, and they've bee pretty damn successful at it. The fact is, Treyarch did what they could to appease the community, but the community will always find a way to bitch about something that's wrong with the game. Treyarch are most likely never going to add a private match feature simply because it would be incredibly difficult to implement it, as well as be able to keep all of the hackers at bay, which, ultimately, is the far more pressing issue. -Jolteon i may not speak for everyone, but i would MUCH rather be able to play with 1 or 2 friends with EASE like we had in previous games that worry about some joker who has a false round count on the very top of the leaderboard. I'm not trying to get to #1 on the leader board, and maybe 0.01% of all zombies players are really going for the top spot seriously. who cares if a group of people get together and hack or whatever... that doesnt affect MY personal enjoyment of the game. However, forcing us to play with extra players in a public lobby when that's not what we want to do does affect it. i want my games to count toward the leaderboard so i can try and beat my own previo0us best score, not the beat everybody in the entire world
-
but why the hell should we have to do tricks and workarounds just to make it happen? is it possible? yes. is it reasonable to have to jump through these hoops to do something simple like play a 2 player game? no. what if you only have 1 controller? doesnt work. point is they made it unnecessarily difficult to do something very simple
-
Right you just described "private matches" as we had them in WaW and Black Ops 1. Again it seems as if they just plain old forgot to include it... Otherwise why make a specific 2 player and 3 player leader board (which was based off feedback from the community). And then make it damn near impossible to play a game that would count on those leader boards. Simply makes no sense. Again they are either ignorant or too stubborn to honor the communities request, OR they made an oversight programming wise that causes private matches to be impossible to create, and aren't addressing it perhaps out of embarrassment?
-
this is obviously not a new issue as this was one of the primary issues since release. Seems to me at this time that this was a huge oversight on the dev team's part, and that because of the logistics they simply can't add the feature in. Seems if it was easy or even viable that they would have done it by now. in black ops 1, i primarily played 2-3 player private matches because i had 2 other friends specifically that like to play a lot. sigh, perhaps in 2014 for the next treyarch game.

The zombies community wants that, I doubt most Multiplayer-only players give a big F about it, just saying! And there are 2 textures for it.. Which one do they release? And if they do release it/them, it definitely will be the last camo pack available to suck a last bit of money from our pockets. Seriously I have paid over 200$ til now for BO2 XB version+season pass, all dlc camos, CaC pack Ps version+season pass A) nobody is making you buy the camos. if you have seriously spent $200 on this game which i think is rather excessive, it's probably a good idea to sit this camo pack out. there are actually 4 PaP camos now...i would personally as a multiplayer enthusiast and zombies fanatic pay whatever it is 640 ms pts for 4 camo/reticle packs. the reticles associated could be any of the zombies exclusive ones from BO or BO2. it would be cool to use the original WaW PaP camo in multi for me simply for old time's sake back on topic though, depending on the reticles, i could see getting the cyborg one... maybe the dragon if the reticles are cool. but as stated earlier, overall... meh especially compared to the first batch -
Official Ranking System Discussion and Theories
The Clay Bird replied to way2g00d's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Well I FINALLY ranked up to dagger. Very peculiar as last week I accidentally left my Xbox on after a game and got spawned into several games and took somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 downs Didn't play for like a week and then played MotD last night and got to I believe 33. Then played die rise today and got to 27 or so. Very unremarkable games. Why not after my 45 on die rise or my 56 or 66 on mob? Mystery. Only thing I did differently was on die rise I used the PDW longer than normal thus had more head shots. Otherwise seems so arbitrary.... Eh oh well So here are my stats immediately after getting it Kills: 102566 Bullets fired : 286609 Downs: 1484 Revives: 796 Grenade kills : 11195 Head shots: 31573 Deaths: 741 Gibs : 113005 Perks drank: 1502 Doors: 1513 Hits: 310523 Miles: 1461 So, that gives me a K/D ratio of 69.11 (significantly lower than most daggers... Had like a 85 k/d before I left it on and took all those phantom downs though) Headshot % of 30.78% Idk seems like I was selected at random  -
You Can "Gain" Persistent Upgrades in MOTD, but...
The Clay Bird replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in Mob of the Dead
this does make sense. the game on the back end is probably programmed for x to happen after y, and although the effects are disabled for this specific map and there obviously is no "indicator" or character quote signaling it, once x has in fact happened, y is in effect once you play a game map/mode where it is not disabled. -
Old Zombie Maps For BO2
The Clay Bird replied to Gingervitus101's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Thing is I doubt they release something unless they are sure the majority of the players will buy. /ProfitArch Right, thats what i was conveying, that the cost and time of a project like this would be too high to justify as the demand for the product would not be large enough to cover those costs -
Old Zombie Maps For BO2
The Clay Bird replied to Gingervitus101's topic in General Zombies Discussion
seems like a win win to me. Treyarch gets more $$$ and those who choose to can purchase the old maps they like. The barrier for treyarch is time and cost. I personally don't think we'll see this in BO2 because of the cost of retooling the maps for the new engine and the time it would take...
