Just curious, has anyone seen or heard of any faster high round strategies? This is a great strategy, and I used a similar strat on my run which ended in round 56, but it gets pretty tedious above 50 as the sweeper can't really take out much of the horde at that point. is the hell's redeemer really one hit kill still this high? if that is the case i would just use that in between the trap cooling down... hmm may do some research on this tonight... nice first post though friend ;)

seems similar to the ability for everyone to grab the sliquifier that they of course patched

Official Ranking System Discussion and Theories
The Clay Bird replied to way2g00d's topic in General Zombies Discussion
its just still a complete crap shoot. I've been over 80 k/d for a while now where a lot of the skull/knife ppl are and im still just skull. no rhyme or reason really -
Just passing this along. for those more concerned about actual xp, just a reminder you do get 10000 xp for the weapon mastery challenge (unlock all camo and fully prestige the weapon) soooo thats a great way to take advantage of this :edit: again this weekend may 17 - 20 again, great way to level up quickly even when its not double xp is the gold camo and max level bonus. (20,000 total for that "all camo unlock" - 5000 xp "max weapon level" - 5000 xp and "weapon mastery" i.e. both camo and max level - 10000 xp)

So as far as multiplayer game goes, can more than one person get the Blundergat out of the box? if not can multiple people get it after getting the skulls?

I've never actually seen death come from an EC, even with insta kill but its always later rounds and my last perk to purchase. It does not teleport them away either but shocks them in place for a few seconds. Still have to do theater mode though to check stats on it... Anyone know if there's a chaining limit on the number of zombies or effectiveness decrease per zombie shocked? or is it a burst that effects all in the radius (I'm just having fun running around still!) These are easily found and I'll research, just thought I would ask before I got on tonight to check some things off my list to play with. Great points, I was going to do some checking on this stuff when i get home today as well.

Maybe i'm the only one, but deadshot + Dub tap II = MASS DESTRUCTION LOVE it that deadshot is back... depending on guns id forfeit electric cherry or speed cola for deadshot...

First Impression on Mob of the Dead/Alcatraz Island?
The Clay Bird replied to Tac's topic in Mob of the Dead
A couple of first impressions, which of course could be subject to change since i've only played it a couple of times. Likes: - The environment in general is awesome. the ambience, the demonic ritual symbols like skulls and candles, the rattling chains, the hanging bodies.. the feel of the map is better than any other in my opinion. - Happy about deadshot daquiri being back, although I'm a little puzzled on why they chose this map specifically to bring it back... maybe to make it easier to kill brutus? either way im glad its back. - love that the Blundergat can be upgraded basically multiple times as it can be PaP, Acid Gat, or both. Would love to have this option with more weapons i think that is a great idea. - continuing to add new weapons like the uzi and ak47 and death machine. wish they had done that more in BLOPS 1. - Return of traps and upgradeable traps is a super neat idea. havent used them much so idk how they may potentially be used for high round solo runs, but im sure we'll see soon enough. Dislikes: - Dislike forcing us to do a side quest just to do something basic like pack a punch. The thing I liked so much about black ops 1 side quests, was that you could play the game completely normally without them and still have access to everything that was intended, however if you took the time and effort to complete it you were very handsomely rewarded. They REALLY need to go back to this formula. Final thoughts: - New perk is cool looking, but i haven't experienced much benefit from it as it seems to not really have much effect on zombies past early rounds (maybe i'm not doing it right idk) - Would have been a PERFECT map to appease the masses and bring back flopper but (or include it as a side quest reward) but didn't happen - Afterlife is a cool concept and is certainly interesting, but I really hope that doesn't become the norm for zombie maps Theres my 2 cents! :D -
Al is referring to Arlington, not Capone. not 100% on this but i'm pretty sure there is a character quote mentioning new years day, or something about the fireworks for new years day? can't remember exactly
-
So what you're saying all black people look alike?!? WHAT A RACIST! lmao jk 8-)

they are being quite bold here after the community has asked for better EE rewards for the entire duration of BO2, and they continue to just kinda ignore that request. I guess they decided after shangri la and moon that the reward was WAY overpowered and that its not an option anymore... interesting in fact, i don't see any point in physically doing the EE now because by others doing it we have the story that goes along, but with no reward other than 25 gamerscore, i'm not going to waste my time with that and just go for high rounds instead

I believe we will be getting 4 multiplayer maps one new zombie map, and some sort of grand finale easter egg amongst the maps involving the navcard tables and nav cards... just my guess :)

The Blundergat (Wonder Weapon) discussion thread
The Clay Bird replied to Dahniska's topic in Mob of the Dead
I think both sides of the argument are correct. The kicker is who is correct for which game. MMX is definitely describing assets of "wonder weapons" from black ops 1. and EJ, a more broad inclusive definition seems to apply to black ops 2. I think it's time to step back and consider the possibility that what may have been considered "wonder weaponry" in black ops 1 and black ops 2 may overlap into a broader category. I do NOT agree that a "wonder weapon" MUST use 115 as its source. see the VR-11 even in black ops as an example. I think 115 is definitely one source for wonder weapons, but not the only source. We can obviously seen that with black ops 2 they have ushered in a lot of new plot points and possibilities within the zombies world we know, part of which includes our friends using their very limited post apocalyptic resources to craft wonder weapons. Also our pre WWII inmates finding a frankenstein civil war era wonder weapon in the mystery box. But when we take a term that originated in past games and have that be mutually exclusive from subsequent maps and games, you just further blur the lines -

Billy, Everyone’s favorite psychopath 116 (Short Update)
The Clay Bird replied to Mattzs's topic in Mob of the Dead
the fact that it was developed by a different team than normal, and there's no straightforward EE achievement (it appears) I really think the link between this map and our traditional story line will be few and far between. I'm sure there will be a few hints and clues here or there, but i think this is like a standalone "movie" per se as opposed to an "episode" or "chapter" in our story line -
Did Sam Controll the Zombies before Shi No Numa?
The Clay Bird replied to Mattzs's topic in General Zombies Discussion
If I'm not mistaken in the panel at COD xp Collin Ayers said that they named the Samantha character basically because the community after hearing that sound effect of the zombie scream decided it sounded like "sam" thus they named a character and started building around it -
MotD Date Found - 2/26/1932 UPDATED w/ Confusion
The Clay Bird replied to bagel_'s topic in Mob of the Dead
Unless this is not a story map, they could very well want to keep the story going over a 4th game So they make a side map that is still pretty big and cool so fans are not disappointed. BUT, I could be totally wrong and there will be a side mission, other than building the plane I think we really have here the first map that is completely separate from our whole storyline that has evolved. I think that's why we hear the original announcer voice, Red eyes (signifying neither sam or richtofen in the aether) and a completely redesigned HUD. i think the HUD design change specifically separates this map from the tranzit -> die rise story. might there be allusions and little easter eggs hidden about our O4 or N4 crews? perhaps, maybe even likely, but I think the collaboration with the campaign team on this is an indication that "hey, even when this story we're telling is over, we can still have fantastic zombies maps" basically that blops2 even if it concludes our familiar zombies story, that doesnt mean zombies is over -
if there is literally a way to win or end the game, I am going to be officially over zombies mode. That is way too radical of a change. Zombies is "survive endless waves of the undead" and that in my opinion is not debateable or negotiable
