The future of Call Of Duty Zombies?
The Clay Bird replied to 115Danii's topic in General Zombies Discussion
My reasoning is that your argument is flawed... plain and simple. You are claiming that there is no profit to be made from a zombie only DLC, when you are clearly wrong. They could easily make money from it. Ghosts is a flop, and the zombie community has largely shunned Extinction. There is still a high volume of players playing BO1 & BO2 zombies across all 3 main platforms, and that figure is enough to cut a decent profit. You are the one being rude and arrogant here, not me. You are unwilling to listen to other peoples reasonings, and claim your own to be solid, when it is not. I honestly don't give a damn about other people's reasonings if they don't have anything concrete. No one has ever listened to me so bugger all if anyone wants me to listen to them without something solid. Look at your own reasoning: "Ghost is a flop"-Opinionated, personally I thought its been the best, and defiantly the most innovative, IFW title sense MW2. "Much of the zombies community has largely shunned Extinction"- again, hasty generalization formed from your own judgement, and therefore, flawed, in fact I have hypothesized many times about a link between zombies and extinction. "You are clearly wrong" again, my arguments have reasoning based off of previous patterns of earlier trayarch games, there is more backing here then "people still play zombies"-People still play half life, portal 2, and TF2, but do you see any new dlc being launched for them? To come in, state that I am wrong, and then argue for the exact same point I just had with less evidence solves nothing and is quite rude to me. I think the misinterpretation here is that you feel he is stating "ghosts is a flop" and "extinction isn't very popular especially among zombies players" as just opinions meaning he doesn't like the game. This i don't believe was the intent, and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong DBZ, but from a numbers standpoint, Ghosts is definitely not as popular as past games. For example. I specifically remember after DLC drops for BO2, there being between 70,000-100,00 on zombies alone, and if i remember correctly, 500,000-600,000 on multiplayer? (unless that totals all including zombies, which i dont think it does. ) Anyway I was on thursday evening the day of DLC 2 release and there were barely over 150,000 online on xbox360 thats extinction squads and mp combined. Although I really enjoy ghosts mp (the 25% of the time that it isn't unbearably laggy) the nubers seem to support that by and large cod fans are not playing ghosts like they did BO2. Combine this data with BO2 almost 18 months after release, and its numbers are equal to ghosts and sometimes even higher (for xbox360 vs. 360 and 1 combined for ghosts) seem to support that there still may be an audience for DLC on BO2. Again, this doesn't mean they will, but when executives at Activision see that their sales of DLC are not meeting projected profit numbers, it is entirely logical that they may come to Treyarch asking them to develop some content for BO2 to try and profit off those hundreds of thousands of us that are still playing BO2. Now i can't speak for PS3 or PC numbers, but assuming they are similar as they normally are, that is the evidence that Ghosts just is not as popular as past CoD's, at least post original release. All this to say I'm not saying you're wrong in the least. There are a variety of facts supporting that dlc for BO2 is done, i mean just look at the past 5 cod's, following roughly the same DLC schedule Difference is this year, the current COD is experiencing sagging sales numbers and much less volume of players than in the past, so even though the past would indicate we are done, we can't rule out a shift in the paradigm for how DLC is released for COD let's all hug now -
I'm seeing the HAMR get a lot of love in this thread, am I the only one that finds the HAMR to have so much recoil that it is relatively useless? id much rather PAP the LSAT, or an-94 or galil than have the hamr spraying bullets all over the place

I think it's pretty much regarded as the toughest last step of an EE for sure, but overall hardest, that's a good question. Origins is not all that tough if you are very familiar with the steps, but combine the overall difficulty of the map with a 9-10 step EE, you could make the case for it. My vote is still for buried though, as it requires a precise level of execution on the gallery step that has never before been seen in a mode that is largely spray and pray

The future of Call Of Duty Zombies?

those online numbers are xbox one and 360 combined for ghosts though. The paradigm is shifting amongst the COD games. I dont think it's unreasonable at all to see something way off the beaten path happen. the cod formula has been the same roughly for 5 years now, but the market changes, and treyarch and activision may be reacting to the change in the direction of the cod winds... is it likely?no i wouldn't go with likely yet. but more likely than it was 2 months ago? hell yeah! who could have guessed personalization packs would get released some 7 months after the last content was released. Profitable is something you keep using stopmocking but with the ghosts DLC sales being as low as they have been, something doesn't always have to be profitable to make it a good idea. By trade i am a pricing analyst, and many times I lower the price on products in order to try and boost sales. we don't always come out ahead in the trade off, but it's too make more than the zero we would have made. all that to say, maybe best case scenario, treyarch's next cod is in 2015, so they put together a map pack for zombies for BO2 to test some ideas they have for the next game, and then based on the response and feedback they get they can make the next zombies experience just that much better also, i have no clue:P -

did you hear something about it from any sort of reputable source, or did you just hear people wishing out loud that we had more dlc? -

I would say sunny Scotland, but we have nothing but cold, clouds and fog for the past few days. Awful weather, especially since summer time officially started last week.

Problem is, tombstone doesn't really help anything anyway. If your teammates weren't close enough to get to you to revive, then what is the likelihood of them being able to spawn you within 45 seconds travel of your tombstone. Highly unlikely at least in my few experiences. Terrible perk is terrible. terrible map is terrible

I find it quite believable. KingJaq Offsuit said on his 200+ on Der Reise that it took over 80 hours. The rounds take quite a long time, even though camping is relatively fast. Once you pass 100 the rounds just get longer and longer. I'm sure that Zombie Project was also smashing the box at the end of each round to get another Time Bomb, which would make it take a few extra minutes. Not only do the rounds goet longer, they get exponentially longer right? well i mean there are exponentially more zombies per round, so it would make sense to me that the time per round would also increases exponentially but yeah, just camping jug with a tramplesteam yesterday, i did a 44 rounder in about 2 hours, and that IS including set up time. im not sure if i feel up to ever doing a 100, but as far as time goes, this would probably be the only one i'd even attempt it on

The future of Call Of Duty Zombies?

Wow, you're right. I'm surprised they would tweet twice about Zombies like that. Maybe they will do something in the near future. I'm not counting on it but it would be nice, that's for sure. Yeah and Jimmy Z tweeted a blurry picture, which he certainly hasnt done since last summer lol. It is certainly strange and mysterious for sure :edit: Yeah Peter Livingstone tweeted a picture or two as well, and he also rarely tweets, I've just gotta think something is up -

Treyarch's twitter going on about zombies today a couple of times. It may be nothing, but something is giving me the feeling that something is afoot. IW never tweeted this much during their off season, not even close. Idk, but i have not completely closed the door on us getting our minds blown before too long -

That's just the way the forum is going to be until new content comes out. Aside from the off chance that new content for zombies is released between now and november 2015 there will be little new info to discuss that hasn't been discussed into oblivion already. However, a lot of us have made friends within this forum, and it is still a fun place to discuss zombies, video games, and other totally unrelated things! i use the other forum im active in quite often, and it's a good example. It's actually a spin-off forum from the off-topic section of the Mars Volta (rock band) message board "The Comatorium" The Mars Volta broke up 2 years ago, and many members of the forum lost interest in their music long ago, but it's still a semi active forum because of the relationships and discussions that take place. So what my point is, is that even though there may be very few things zombies wise to promote thought-provoking detailed posts and threads, the forum doesn't just have to cease posting. We can still chat, tell stories, joke around, and then once zombies next chapter does finally arrive? We can get to theorizing, generating best strategies, discuss weaponry, and so on and so forth

Is the PS4 going to be the new lead platform for CoD?
The Clay Bird replied to Lenne's topic in Research & Development
thing is, this is about money, and whether or not ps4 / xbone sales are higher, the fact is Microsoft's wallet >>> Sony's wallet i certainly do not see any changing of the guard in that respect i think that would hurt microsofts pocket book too, because i wonder how many ps users in the past would have downloaded and paid for dlc sight unseen if they got it first, but instead after a month realized it wasn't good/they didn't want it and didn't buy? I bet it's more significant than we might think -
Is the PS4 going to be the new lead platform for CoD?
The Clay Bird replied to Lenne's topic in Research & Development
i've heard quite the opposite lately, mainly because of the release of titanfall and titanfall/xbone combo packs. Hear xbone sales are kicking up ahead of ps4 now -
I don't like that. especially with the very real potential for there not to be any new zombie content until november 2015? The fact is, that during the off season, there just isn't that much stuff to talk about zombie related, yet we still like to engage with one another, and that might be on random topics such as chicken sandwiches, finding true love, other video games, etc. lol

i got your invite last night way, but i couldn't play as it was too late. Next time my friend. On topic, i've had some decent games with randoms. First time i did the MOTD ee, was with randoms and i had no idea they were even doing it lol, we did the golden spork, and then i just camped the roof and all of a sudden we're on the gg bridge lol. Its rare, but it can happen

Lightning staff is best for 97% of Origins players.
The Clay Bird replied to 83457's topic in Origins
I'm so pathetic at this: whether i do the dials first or not, i tell myself 'can't forget the orb' then i finish step 2 of whatever staff and my brain blanks immediately...until the second i teleport into tcp. Probably 4 of 5 games, and there is no excuse at this point for me. Just senility kicking in. Omg, i am so glad i'm not the only person that does this. Every other game at least I will finish the 2nd "puzzle" step and head to the crazy place only to find the podium isnt open yet lol -
this is an awesome idea. I do my own version of this usually when i play town survival. basically every round (once i am far enough and have perks and points etc.) I hit the box, and PaP whatever comes out of it. then i play with that gun until i have 6000 points again (enough to hit box and PaP) makes for a really fun new experience

Oh I didn't see it that way, I just meant I hadn't really noticed any problems with meaningless responses or pony memes or whatever, at least not in zombie related threads. In off topic sure, but that's what it's there for. Just stating that if someone wants to express that they agree with a members post or that they think its cool, i dont see anything wrong with that sort of short post that doesn't add any new info if you know what i mean. just my two cents, since we have been getting some nice growth lately, and I'd hate to stifle it by people being afraid to post in fear that it's not good enough that's all
-
the fastest way to get negative responses on CoDz is to claim you have discovered something new/major without any viable proof. If anyone can provide valid, repeatable proof of a side quest of any sort in Kino after 3 years, then a hero they shall be. I for one won't be holding my breath though
-
I don't think this is a problem at all right now. The duplicate threads is big time yes, but if we start moderating the actual content people are posting, it's going to discourage people from doing so, and i don't think thats a good way to go about encouraging good conversation. I think if we just take some measures to clean up some of the useless new threads, everything else is fine. Don't want the forum to feel as if it's so censored that people don't post in fear of getting reprimanded by other members or mods
-
I came here coincidentally to harp on Hell's Warrior's #2 concern above. The forum has really recently gotten a pretty good amount of new members, which is awesome. However, a side-effect of that is once some of these members have joined they immediately are making brand new threads for subjects that already have a thread if not multiple threads already. I know it would take a great deal of effort by mods, but one thing that was successful on past forums i've been a part of, is if a thread is created that is on a subject that is already covered in another thread, the thread should immediately be locked, and a form message stating some instructions on how to use the search function of the forum. Many new folks may not even know there is a search feature. This would do 2 things, 1) allow the new members to engage better by posting in appropriate areas where they will actually get responses, and 2) hopefully drastically decrease the clutter of new threads for every idea that pops into somebody's mind. One other idea, is for general zombies ideas that there might not be a specific thread for, but really isn't significant enough to make an entire new thread, maybe we could make kind of a "catch-all" thread for random zombies thoughts? I know there is the chicken sandwich thread in off topic for random thoughts, but i think it would be nice to have a seperate thread in General Zombie Discussion for small ideas or posts relating to zombies that might be random in nature. Just some ideas to help de-clutter the forum a bit
