i believe we already have a thread for this in Future Zombies subforum. http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/index.php/topic/146793-the-wunder-ful-wunder-weapon-discussion/ this is where everyone is discussing ideas for new WW's in future zombies games, so i'm sure you'll get a lot more responses there than just making a new thread. Thanks!

Perhaps there was some tweaking done in a hot fix or something... somebody could try playing offline to see. either way, i agree faster elevators=better
-
has there been any notice of elevators taking longer based on number of players in the game? I think you mostly play solo if i'm not mistaken, so maybe its faster with 1 person than with more? it seems like that might make sense as far as with more people, more people would need to buy perks, pap , etc. idk ill have to take a look, haven't played die rise in a while
-
Hahaha, playing with randoms, although normally will make you want to gouge your ears out with squeaky voice adolescents claiming they know how to get the golden ray gun, the times you get someone who is so confident and also so rage-filled, it can really make for a hilarious rage down-quit situation. as they say, confidence is the food of the wise man, but the liquor of the fool
-
I think it's worse now because the lack of players makes finding quality hosts really hard, or at least we tried to play it last week with a party of 5 and spent 15 minutes waiting for a game and never got one, and before that me and one other guy got into a couple maps but the lag was just too much to overcome. back when people were playing it, it wasnt really too bad outside of nuketown. map sizes were generally really good, and even the smallish ones like firing range and summit were bearable. perfect map sizes were like Array, and Jungle. straight up medium sized lol And i totally get why you and a lot of people like the prestige system in ghosts (although i dont play the squads mode), but i actually like the whole fresh reset of a prestige. Having to work to earn the things you like again. Black ops 2 nailed it with each prestige giving you a permanent unlock. But even with all that once I prestige mastered in BO2 i did a fresh reset to start it all over again. MP to me is all about gaining xp and leveling, so without that I lose motivation to play. Not saying ghosts doesnt have it's merits, but as a primarily hardcore team deathmatch player with my friends, ghosts didn't hold up to BO2 and we're back on bo2 now Still no excuse for IW not to put the maps people paid for into the rotation lol
-
Oh my goodness are the dlc maps still not in regular rotation?? hahaha i haven't even played ghosts since about a week after the dlc came out and i played the DLC hardcore playlist to try them out, but havent played the regular playlists since. Why wouldn't they be in the rotation to begin with?!? The levels of fail reached by this game are really impressive

How I would like the design to be...
The Clay Bird replied to Matuzz's topic in Research & Development
like most of those ideas, and I agree that by 2015, I don't think we should see any legacy console release. 2 years is plenty of buffer zone. Nobody expected that in previous generations of consoles, so no need for it now. i don't think there should be no ranks, but instead, a rank more akin to prestige mode in multiplayer. Being that you don't have to be good to obtain prestige in MP, just play a lot. However the better you are the faster you'll obtain it. I think that should be implemented, so its basically an XP scenario a lot like extinction (one of the things that mode got right) Agree about the maps being more manageable and less tedious. One thing that might be interesting, is multiple WW's per map kinda like the staves, however give us different ways of obtaining. So for instance, one WW you can roll out of the box a la Black Ops 1. One might be a buildable much like the staves with a means of upgrading, and then one that is really good might be an easter egg reward. good ideas though Matuzz, and i totally agree about grief, private matches, clans, and added to that, I like the idea of customization, aka changing starting pistol (could chose to not start with M1911 and with stronger one instead, with the obvious downside being no Mustang and sally) or changing skins on character and guns. like all 4 characters might have a jungle outfit, snow, space, war, etc. and you could earn them through challenges -
Yes, but not by very much. The actual steps to the easter egg are very nondescript. especially for the maxis side. The bottom line is, look at moon and shangri la. the EE is things like puzzles. Samantha says, the memory game on shang, the mud room puzzle, and then some fun zombie killing gameplay. the tranzt egg for maxis for instance. go to power, turn it on, turn it back off. then you have to spam the box until you get EMPs. box moves? now you have 10 minutes of running or riding to get to the next spot, then 10 minutes more once you get them or box moves again. finally, you put down the turbines at the posts. I mean that has to be the most unimaginative E E quest ever. Richtofen side is a little better but even more tedious. We said we wanted a big map, and they gave it to us. Now we dont want big maps anymore. sometimes we have to learn the lesson the old school way by trial and error, and this gave us the error we needed
-
lol, agree to disagree. bad map is bad. text book example of an idea being really good on a whiteboard and in everyone's imagination, and then completely whiffing on the implementation

There's More To Tranzit Than Meets The Eye
The Clay Bird replied to Hells Warrrior's topic in TranZit
I understand that the zombies team likes to keep themselves shrouded in veils of secrecy, but at this point when we are 3+ years post Black Ops and 18 months post Black ops 2, I think it would go a long way with the community to just go ahead and confirm or debunk some of the myths surrounding the games and maps. I'm all for keeping tight lipped while the game is still fresh and new stuff is coming out, giving people an adequate amount of time to discover on their own. It would just be nice to just get a straight answer for once from Treyarch. The cryptic talk and constant grasping at threads is getting pretty tiresome at this point -
lol so people are still spending their time doing stuff like this lol *facepalm*

anybody know where I can find a pic of that fake screenshot of Eclipse/Shangri-La for Black ops 2?

yeah, i posted the pic in a thread on general zombies. I think the lettering was pretty poorly aligned which sealed it for me, but the icon pic itself was very cool looking

Geeze, I spent ages looking for that Eclipse DLC 'leak' the other week (hahaha I'm a poet and I didn't know it!) should've asked you DBZ! Did it ever get confirmed as fake?

A map in the Depths of the catacombs
The Clay Bird replied to Rudy7s11's topic in Research & Development
It's purposely ambiguous, Nobody is right or wrong. My theory on Origins is that the whole thing is just the product of Sam and Eddie's imagination in playing with toys and is not directly related with any BO1 storyline. Anyway, I think we got the catacombs with Origins. Interesting ideas, but the frantic nature of zombies wouldn't work very well in darkness. If it were to play like that, they'd have to change the principal game mechanics for it to be any fun -
Weapons packs: Future of Cod gaming for MP and zombies!
The Clay Bird replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in Zombie Labs
care to explain why? -
Semantically I agree with your statement. From a realistic viewpoint, I disagree with the proven fact part of it. You can camp to at best round 38ish, which is a big push in itself. That's coop as solo is very different. On a 4p game, it's going to take 4-5 hours to get to between say round 35 and 40. That's about the limit for many players. When you look at that information, most people aren't going to reach the terminal limit of camping. Once you look at weapon choice, and box necessity it's clear to me that if you want to camp to round 35, without hitting the box at the end of every round in the 30s you need a brilliant wall weapon. The only one which is good enough to get you that high is the AN-94 and that includes DT2. As it's location is not ideal on any map, except maybe Buried with the chalk outlines it's kinda null. I do know that on DIe Rise, using the AN-94 and Sallies only, myself, KingJaq, Relaxing and Christian got to 38. It was the boss round on 37, and I doubt we would have survived a zombie round then. Camping is the best strategy for almost all 3 or 4 players games, running is the best strategy for solo or coop. Most 3 or 4 players games aren't generally getting high enough to make camping terminal. Running circles in a 3 or 4 player game is about the most boring thing I can literally think of doing, so for me camping is King. 100% agree. especially for casual games. I play with the same friends most of the time, and i believe the highest we've ever gotten in 4p is 32, but we;ve done that on almost every map, point being is that just seems to be the end point where focus is less, eyes are heavy, and ammo is low lol

The definition of a "Wonder Weapon".
The Clay Bird replied to Dahniska's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yeah, Prince Lolz i agree about the jet gun but that's it MMX touched most of them, but the Blundergat again vaporizes the zombies and it magically appears on the wardens table after picking up the skulls. again MOTD isn't related to 115 exactly but its still "magick" from another realm -
Lightning staff is best for 97% of Origins players.
The Clay Bird replied to 83457's topic in Origins
Hahaha! idk why this tickled me so much but i almost had water come out of my nose I've never really thought of it that way, but I totally agree. And I think almost moer importantly than anything else for the inexperienced player is the high ammo in magazine.. that way missed shots are less penalizing when you can rapid fire. Good thread though! -
Yeah it moves anytime after the 4th hit, so you can take 4 guaranteed each game with no risk of fire sales. Fire sales are terrible, horrible. You never want these in Origins as your weapons of choice are the staffs and these function independently of the box. Even in co-op this rule stays. The box guns are fun but in the end a waste of time. Like I said the Mark 2 and monkeys are nice to have but not worth fussing about as the alternatives work too. Having a better chance of Max Ammo drops is worth so much more than Fire Sales, I can't even begin to express it. To be honest in a high round Solo game all you ever want are Max Ammos and maybe an Insta-Kill; Nukes are less than ideal as they make the zombies spawn weirdly which can cause problems. Double Points and Zombie Blood are worthless once you get set up. Definitely don't need yet another useless power-up. Dahniska, where would you recommend camping at in mid rounds? different for solo and co-op? i'd like to find a couple good places for 4 player co-op camping, because my friends i play with really prefer camping zombies than training, and id love to get them to like this map, and a good camp spot might do that Oooh, thanks for asking. xD It really depends on how many players you have, what your endgame strategy is, and what weapons you're using. A lot of people love doing the full easter egg so they can sit in corners with the upgraded fist/knife. If you've got 4 people it might be worth considering trying that - a few good corners for sitting with the upgraded melee are inside the Fire Tunnel, in the corner by the wall buy for the MP40 inside the tank station, on top of the parked tank under the church (needs 3 or more players) and in the corners behind and in front of the parked tank at the church. If you're playing with 2 people or less, I don't recommend using the fists. Instead leave the easter egg uncompleted, stopping at the "Rain Fire" step so you can get all three robots to walk across the map every minute or two. For two people I recommend camping by the wall buy for the semtex in the trenches between Gen 1 and 3. Leave the door to Gen 3 in front of the wall buy closed to keep the zombie spawns faster. You can camp here will upgraded HAMR till the mid-20's assuming you have Double Tap and Speed. Optimally though for all camping strategies you want the upgraded Ice Staff cause it's the best camping weapon, period. If you have the Ice Staff you can reliably camp at that spot till 60 on solo - I recommend you get Flopper as well so you can keep throwing Semtex during Insta-Kill. If you got two people have the second guy hold the Fire Staff and use it when the Ice gets low on ammo. Solo camping is by far the best though. For all strategies I recommend the Ice Staff - no other staff is anywhere near as good. You can use the spot I already mentioned for Solo if you want. Its only drawback is occasionally a zombie gets stuck in the wall by the Fire tunnel so you have to leave the area to make it respawn which is annoying. Alternatively, you can leave the doors between Generators 1 and 2 closed and camp by the Remmington wall buy. It's a little bit faster than the semtex camping spot and there is no wall glitch. For the most experienced and skilled players the very fastest camping spot is behind the tank station, Solo only. If you know the popular training pattern for this area, you will know the place most players shoot the train at - right next to a big mudhole not far from the back door of the tank station. There are three spawn points for zombies within the radius of the Ice storm if shot at the edge of that mudhole. Basically right there is your camping spot. It's hard cause you have to be perfectly on time with your shots for the Ice Staff - messing up at all could cause your death. But if done right, you spawn trap 3 spawn points and there are a LOT of spawn points close by so you can easily kill 20 or so zombies with a single charge shot once the spawns max out. Unlike other Ice Staff camping spots, you can camp here till about Round 80 before you need to start training regularly since the zombie spawns are so fast. It's just a really hard spot and even with a lot of practice I still die here from random nonsense on occasion. You need a shield for this spot as well so if you use it, make sure the zombie shield is in the workshop and that you have a Mark 2 or Mauser as your secondary and monkeys/air strikes for Panzer rounds. Hope this helps. I've been considering making a detailed strategy guide for Solo Origins for this forum. If I end up making it I will most likely show some footage of the strategies I mentioned. yes it certainly does help. now we wouldn't be making it anywhere near the type of high rounds you mentioned there... now the fist camping spots you mentioned would that be everyone camping together? or everyone camping in a separate isolated spot? I'd say our end game would be to everyone have an upgraded staff and an upgraded hamr or mg02 or whatever and maybe a boomhilda or ray gun. I've played some highish round solo games, but the guys i like to play with are just irl friends who don't play any solo. thus they like to camp everyone together, just for the solidarity and fun aspect. Realistically id say a ceiling on what round we'd play to would be 35.

I would be skeptical even with him Jimmy Z, he is a master troll. Remember his leaks to the map in Ireland lol. Maybe it's less him trolling and us reading into every letter he tweets. yeah I agree, jimmy has way too much fun with his cryptic pictures and vowel-less tweets lol. At this point about the only person I believe is Vonderhaar. Also Dan Amrich, but he is no longer employed by activision, so we'll have to see how 1OS continues to be a first report type of source

although I agree with your opinion, ours is just not the popular opinion. all the ADD kids that play cod want the frenzy of constant death and bullet spraying of small maps like nuketown, dome, rust, etc. its unfortunate, but i understand why those maps are popular among the core user-base, and hence understand why IW chose those to remake. just like treyarch chose firing range, stadium, The difference is treyarch also remade cliffside, and the imperial courtyard one, so they mixed in some small frenetic maps, with some long range, sniping/camping type maps. IW has pretty much just done the small crazy ones. that said, i don't really care because i'm done with ghosts dlc since the mp maps aren't that big a deal to me, and extinction simply doesn't appeal to me in the least

black ops or black ops II i need help
The Clay Bird replied to mneilan's topic in General Zombies Discussion
you want help choosing what game to play? idk man, just pick one and go. you'll have fun on either one i'm sure -
Holy buried batman! i've solo camped to 58 on that map, and co-op to 50 with my good friend setup man0077 ... Mob of the dead i've co-op 4 player camped to round 30+ by leaving the gate next to jugg shut and us camping with our backs to the gate. die rise camped to 32 with 4 players our backs against the wall near the MP5. Origins and Tranzit are the only two I havent really camped much on.... So i guess my point is, no camping is definitely not dead, in fact it is alive and well!
