That would make sense. I guess I've always done this step on the bridge to ensure that I get both steps done. It's not hard to do whatsoever, especially if you're on a relatively low round. i think you are almost correct. but the statement of some kills MUST be made before spending the full round on the bridge, isn't entirely true. they can be done simultaneously though. maybe that's what you meant, but its not neccessarily a 1-2-3 step deal it can be all done at once

wish they added a few more prestige levels so I would have some incentive to play on 2x XP weekends again...

What's One Weapon That You Miss?
The Clay Bird replied to EvilHERONeos's topic in General Zombies Discussion
well, the BEST is probably the sliquifier,or the wunderwaffe on waw shi no numa .Or arguably the jet gun pre-patch.But most powerful, and safest?Of course unrelated, but this nostalgia is really making me kind of hope they do re-release classic maps on black ops 2. think... finally solo leaderboards and custom game options on our favorites?? please treyarch make this happen! -
Ranks are the ruin of zombies
The Clay Bird replied to BriggzyJ97's topic in General Zombies Discussion
only time my K/D ever takes much of a hit is playing drunk grief which i do from time to time. But those saying knives is "easy" maybe if you have the time to play 12 hours a day and amass those amounts of kills to offset downs, but for those of us grownups who have lives, its not so "Easy". Once it was determined that k/d had an affect on rank i tried to limit downs, not get perma QR not get perma jug etc. ive raised my kd from in the 40s to around 90 but still no knives. and now with almost 1200 downs, i would have to play literally for days without going down once to raise it to 100. so quit with the knives is "easy" bulls***, i have had skull since the week the game came out. round 66 on mob solo with multiple runs in the 50s and 30s coop and same with die rise. the fact of the matter is, I've learned you absolutely can gain no knowledge of a players skill by their rank emblem. the two seem to be completely unrelated after 6 months or so of experience To be fair I honestly thought that a k/d of around 90 would be a knife rank, I originally got the knife when mine was less than that. I have several friends who still have knifes now with a lower k/d than you. If you don't get the knife rank soon I would be surprised. I understand that if you got loads of downs early on it won't be easy to recover from, and I'm not saying it would be easy for me to achieve if I had that many downs. I am an adult as well and I don't always have the time to play COD just to boost my kills. But the point I was trying to make is that even when I was getting 43 downs in a game with around 260 kills (still my accounts highest co op on nuketown) I still ranked up to the knife pretty quickly. If you are getting round 50's then, assuming you are playing solo you must be getting around 3k kills a game, that would push up your kd by around 2.5 each time providing you aren't going down. I can see how that would take a while to get your k/d up but you can't be far away from the knife now. As for rank relating to skill, I'm not sure if i agree with you there or not. While I have friends with knifes and some with just skulls who can out perform me with shotguns, i'd say at least 80-90% of the skull ranks I meet in public lobbies are just ok players. Average at best. Whereas knife players are often as good as or better than myself. Anyone who has shotguns but refuses to work as a team, or even refuse to stay in a lobby with lower ranked players is a dick and doesn't deserve them in the first place. I would rather die on a low round trying to revive 3 1-bone players and rank down than just look at the menu jumping out of lobbies for 4 hours  just a thought on this... approximately what percent of the entire zombies populous is each rank. i would imagine something like: one bone: bottom 10% cross bone: 10%-30% skull: 30%-70% knife: 70%-90% shotguns: upper 10% ?? kind of a bell curve scenario? probably even more skewed to the middle, because seems like at least 9 out of 10 players are just straight skull. maybe top 1% shottys? the way i always relate this: i know zombies is supposed to be all cryptic and mysterious and what not, but to include a rank system with seemingly a purely arbitrary system that is kept completely secret is just flat out maddening. imagine if in multiplayer it was some arbitrary system to attribute rank and prestige. people would sell the game immediately because it makes no sense. I don't see why they are so stubborn about keeping things like this so completely and utterly secret other than if it purely is just rather random... -

What's One Weapon That You Miss?
The Clay Bird replied to EvilHERONeos's topic in General Zombies Discussion
well duh, the PPsh and the scavenger -
Well I mean that does make sense. It's just way far too coincidental. And if they can build stuff within five seconds, part at a time, then that's also crazy. Because even a person dumb as Russman could build it. its a video game. obv 4 ppl surrounded by flesh eating beasts could not fashion a deadly weapon out of those parts in 5 seconds, but if we had to do research and development and take years to build the gun like it would realistically, would that be very much fun? sometimes the zombs community should just accept that some stuff is in the game JUST TO MAKE IT WORK AND BE FUN, and is not related to back story or realistic premises

has anyone actually gotten it out of the box? i mean there are times where you see WW or otherer one only guns in rotation, but the % chance of getting them is actually zero code wise...

Ranks are the ruin of zombies
The Clay Bird replied to BriggzyJ97's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I think you're negatively stereotyping way too much. While as I said earlier, having shotguns does not make you KingJaq, in 98% of the cards I've seen, the shotgun players are indeed better at zombies than the lower ranks. I'll also add to that that while it is good and important to revive downed teammates, in a lot of cases there's no way you can revive someone, so just staying alive is the best option. For example, I was playing MotD last night and was running outside the Cafeteria. I got downed, revived myself and ran for the gondola. As I got into the gondola, one zombie got in and double slapped me. I told my partner not to worry about it. There was no way he could have gotten me up and we both knew it. 98% !! In my experiance it's about 65%, but I suppose it's just luck on who you get. In that example yes I agree no one would have been able to get you ( not that I really know the map layout due to ps3 (8 days left ) ) But many times I have played and they haven't even tried to get me when I'm in the opposite building on town for example. The most annoying thing is if they have quick revive as well, or monkeys. i think 65% is way low, HOWEVER i do have my suspicions upon playing with some shotgunners that they didnt glitch a stats reset, and then sat in the die rise exploit to falsely acquire that rank. there are some that just are in no way shape or form good enough to have legit acquired the shotties. thank you youtube for allowing easy access to all these exploits and glitches... smh and @ dahniska: re: messed up to much when the game was released. that is exactly what it seems to be with a lot of people. When experimenting with the "perma" quick revive etc, i let myself go down hundreds of times to help my friends get the what we thought at that time was permanent. but it wasnt. And all the jimmy Z BS about its only how good you've been playing lately. sorry jimmy, since i've actually been working toward ranking up i went from about a 45 k/down to now around 90. throw in there some runs in the 40's solo on die rise and 30's co-op and a 56 and 66 run on mob solo and 30's co-op. there just no way it is only how you've played recently -
just kinda advice, I would recommend not commenting on something in a video without watching said video. If you had watched it you would see that it is CLEARLY not the redeemer. It's just not constructive to guess about the contents of a video without watching it and thinking it is constructive. No offense meant, but surely you see how silly that is

Your Top 5 LEAST Favorite Maps Thus Far?
The Clay Bird replied to Flammenwerfer's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Interesting topic Flammenwerfer! It's definitely tough for me to pick 5. If I had to pick 5: #1) Tranzit/Green Run : Too tedious, the horrible horrible fog. The ridiculously awful Easter Egg. No wonder weapon to speak of. near impossible to pack a punch on solo. For a map they had over a year to work on, it really is an abortion of a map. The only one I won't ever willingly go back and re play #2) Kino Der Toten : I know a lot of people hold this map in very high regard, because a lot of you all didn't start your zombies experience until black ops. The reason I don't like Kino is because of A) the nova zombies, which I have always thought were horrible; and another map they had an entire year to work on, and there really weren't any innovations. yes some new weapons and the thunder gun, but overall it was rather bland to me. #3) Shi No Numa : This is more just a personal choice, simply because I bough WaW several months after it was released and all the map packs were already out, so i downloaded them all at once. Long story short, we pretty much completely skipped playing this because we found der reise first. It's an ok map, but again didn't add much from verruckt, and I'm never a fan of randomized perk locations. #4 Call of the Dead : I actually like this map, but it gets on the list only because of the fog which is annoying at times, and because of George who is also annoying at times. Although I think it is really fun to kill him and get extra perks, for the most part he is quite the nuisance. Will say the Scavenger is perhaps my favorite WW of all time. #5 Wow... I have to go Verruckt : I love verruckt... i just happen to love it slightly less than the others. I would love to see reimagined versions of the classic maps with some of the new mechanics such as PaP machine, new perks, etc. plus expanded gameplay area I think that would be a ton of fun. So yeah, some of the less popular ones Five and Shangri La are among my favorites, but all in all they all hold a dear place in my heart -
after watching it, as much as i wish this were true, it looks like Blue players points increase much like when activating electric cherry. SOoo I think that the blue player is up there ahead out of sight, and its just coincidence that the retriever gets thrown right at the same time Blue player reloads and triggers the EC shock. Obviously I could be wrong, but that certainly seems to be the case here. EDIT: Just watched it again, and actually BLUE player goes down!, that's what causes the larger electric shock. (seems that another side effect of EC is a shock whenever you go down into afterlife (just like what happens in your vid when you show that reloading only shocks a couple, but right after when you go down a larger shock occurs shocking them all) so not a new retriever, just a interesting timing coincidence on the video :)

Mule Kick we call Donkey Punch... lol and recently Cherry Popper has come up in place of Electric Cherry other than perks though, we call Mustang & Sally "Whistling Dixie" for no apparent reason Trample steams have been called "Tramp Stamps" or "Cleveland Steamers" hmmm. oh yeah the Galvaknuckles are the "Moose Kunckles" or "camel toes" yes i realize my friends and I are grown-ups and that most of these are sexual in nature, oh well...

Ranks are the ruin of zombies
The Clay Bird replied to BriggzyJ97's topic in General Zombies Discussion
On my secondary account, I have shotguns. I don't consider myself to be an arrogant player; in fact, that account is strictly used for Grief. and this pretty much directly refutes Jimmy Z's tweet that stated only survival and classic contribute to rank... i dont think he even know how the hell the system works lol -
Next Map should not be big
The Clay Bird replied to gunslinger979's topic in General Zombies Discussion
This post 8-) made me laugh so hard. lol Thanks. Its a Russman quote from Tranzit. lol its like Takeo mixed with Foghorn Leghorn -
i thought that was pretty much a no brainer, the speakeasy i thought was a perfect name for the pap version of a mobster style tommy gun. its nothing more than that though. just a cool name referencing a prohibition era drinking establishment

Zombies Team Hard at Work?
The Clay Bird replied to gunslinger979's topic in General Zombies Discussion
One thing I really hope they do more of with this, is things like when in Black Ops 1 they as a surprise added mule kick to every map. That was awesome and gave a fresh life to each of the maps. My friends and I went and made runs on all the maps after that and it was super fun!. So Treyarch, if you are listening, updates PAST dlc 4 would REALLY increase the replay value and bring some of the old maps back to life. Hell if there were some updates or surprises you might even be able to convince me to play Tranzit again. (it would have to be a pretty good update though lol ) -
Double Weapon XP this weekend 5/17 - 5/20
The Clay Bird replied to The Clay Bird's topic in Multiplayer
another great point they honestly should have included 15-20 prestiges in this one since they made it so much easier to earn large amounts of xp because of this and other challenges. i played just as much black ops 1, and after all 4 map packs were released, i was probably at 8 or 9 prestige? didnt hit 15th 50 until like 2 months before black ops 2 came out. this one I was totally max leveled before the second map pack even lol -
lol like the guy in my post in the high round thread. "im so good at zombies, i get to high rounds all the time." ... later "ok everyone stay out of the cafeteria thats my spot" *gets wardens office blundergat without teling anyone and doesnt let us get one out of box first* *goes down even in the easiest spot with the best weapon and rage quits*

has anyone confirmed whether or not all players have to refrain from shooting? or for instance all 4 of us are on the bridge, but player 2 and 4 do not care to get the redeemer but 1 and 3 do. If 1 and 3 only use the retriever and shoot no bullets for the full round, can they get the redeemer? or do all 4 have to refrain from bullets?
-
^ This. I was going to say the exact same thing. It looks like a glitch, or an alternate way to upgrade it. Here are the steps: 1.-Kill 30+ zombies on the GG bridge just with the Retriever. 2.-Throw it into the lava pit. 3.-Get downed, and after reviving yourself you'll have an orange tomahawk in your HUD but actually the one you have will be the Redeemer. Note: You have to wait for a new round before getting downed, so the light changes to blue. anybody tested this out to see if there's any way to use this to get all 4 players a hell;s redeemer??
-
All the comic type images are from Black Ops 1, Der Reise, Nacht Der Untoten, and Moon. As for why the file names have transit in them? dont know but the Black Ops 2 map is TranZit, transit is just a regular english word for like travelling or commuting. Never a bad idea to pass along info that is new to you, but none of this is new or substantial info cheers!

Sooooooo something very interesting happened to me just now. Powered up the retriever by killing zombs on the bridge. threw the retriever into the fire pit. started new round. running in the cafe. i go down. revive myself and go reaquire perks... i look and my retriever was back. red glowing tomahawk in my inventory. so i figure ive got to throw it in the pit again. when i do that it flashes blue and charges 3 times?! So i never went to get the redeemer it just kinda glitched into my inventory. then i went to afterlife went down there and it still let me have it. so now its blue. but that was bizarre.
