:edit: post rescinded after reading press releases... everything looks awesome!

i was really hoping to get 3 maps.... it is really nice to be able to have a little variety. being able to go from Kino to Five in black ops really kept it fresh until dlc came out.

Nuketown zombies is obviously not going to be directly connected to the other maps or any sort of campaign mode that there might be, because only the hardened/prestige owners will have it. it would alienate the zombs community big time

Avenged Sevenfold - Carry On
The Clay Bird replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Would you buy a game you have never played before only because you hear a song from a band you like in a tv spot (for that game)? I wasn't talking about a marketing point of view. I was talking about my point of view. i might not buy it simply because the song is in the game, but i'm saying, if i see on youtube there's a new song by Avenged Sevenfold, and I'm a huge A7X fan, i'm brought in by the music, but then i see gameplay footage from the video and maybe i think it looks cool enough to buy. same reason they have athletes endorse products. marketing 101. just so happens A7X are huge CoD fans so its a natural fit for them -
Avenged Sevenfold - Carry On

that doesn't make any sense to do that with a song from Elena and Kevin... As much as i love what they've done on the zombies soundtrack, and they do have many fans, a song from A7X or Trent Reznor or the Rolling Stones like blops1 makes way more sense to promote the game. Hardcore CoD fans are going to buy the game anyway, but by releasing a song from a major label artist or band could bring in fans of that band to the cod franchise who havent' played before. Many of the things the community suggests or requests are fun ideas to think about, but think about what sense it would make for the company who makes the game to do that... -
i bought MW3 but honestly haven't played it that much. i think i hit 3rd prestige maybe? pretty much only played on double xp weekends... my friends and I still play black ops MP to this day, in fact just recently finally hit 15th prestige lvl 50... i agree with OP that black ops 2 will have more longevity, not just because of zombies, but i think Vahn and the crew at treyarch do a phenomenal job of making a fun fair multiplayer game. i am super excited! oh yeah also for zombies too!

Verrukt styled spawning? HELL YES, it makes it feel more survival like, Having to stick to your partner! I love this idea! verruckt always felt like a Jigsaw trap from the SAW series, not totally of course, but if it was a 2 v 2 type of deal where you are working to save your own life but at the cost of the lives of those on the other side...

XP-79 from licence plate on trailer

lol exactly... they ave to put something on it -
Please trayarch no leveling up!
The Clay Bird replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Leveling seems fine to me, as long as being a specific level or prestige doesnt give you a distinct advantage in gameplay. i'm fine with it as a status symbol or fun feature, but i don't like any sort of idea involving starting a zombies match with a class set up or perks or anything. pistol and knife that is it! -
If this in fact is true, this worries me a bit, if and only if the bus is a primary location to the map...seems like that again would completely change the basic premise and mechanics of the game mode. however if the bus is simply a "fast travel" option ala teleporter or lunar lander, i think its really cool basically that while aboard you still have to fend off zombies. i'm interested for sure, and the trailer was impressive, but i'm still just a LITTLE nervous lol

"From Call of Duty: World at War to Call of Duty: Black Ops, we’re walking you through the classic Zombies… one map at a time." Damn me and my selective reading. Okay so ten days... not including weekends that puts on september 25th..a Friday. lets try the math again, the tenth day would be 9/26 which is a wednesday so the 11th day would be thursday the 27th

Does Tom Syndicate know something???
The Clay Bird replied to bbobs2's topic in General Zombies Discussion
^I had been thinking this too, most people found him through zombies so why not! It would be pretty cool. no it would not be cool. no offense to the younger players and youtubers out there, but i dont care to fight zombies as a teenager who made his fame on youtube.... -
I think the differences will just be subtle cosmetic differences like we see here with QR... just polishing and updating for the new game... familiar but also fresh

Old, but interesting, Quote
The Clay Bird replied to FatedTitan's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Was kind of interesting that Dan brought that back up and posted that link on twitter again today. Also he made a comment that did make me think the zombies info will be a slow bloodletting as opposed to a flash flood of info though... which is good, i much prefer the suspense and surprise playing the game the first time as opposed to already feeling i know what everything will be like -
I just thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can post and compare and contrast the control style (i.e. button layout, stick layout, inverted y-axis, etc.) we all use for Call of Duty here's mine: Inverted Y-Axis Stick layout: Legacy Button layout: Tactical what is yours?

Campaign and Multiplayer zombies ARE seperate!
The Clay Bird replied to Dead_Syn's topic in General Zombies Discussion
there is a fundamental problem with a zombies campaign though... that would mean an end to the level or game. how can there be a progression of stages in a campaign when the total premise of the entire game is that you cannot win and the zombies are infinite? -
Does Tom Syndicate know something???
The Clay Bird replied to bbobs2's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I'm sure he knows a lot of things... there are a lot of people that know a lot of the answers to the questions we have, but they will not be discussing them until they get the ok from up top -
this was sarcastic right?

Not sure if this means anything..
The Clay Bird replied to IPunch_Infants's topic in General Zombies Discussion
if you don't like the teases get off the internet. i am glad they haven't released any concrete info... i much prefer to be just totally surprised by the experience of playing the first time, rather than basically knowing everything about it and then just having to wait weeks and weeks to actually experience it. Guys, November is NOT that far away lol. It will be here in due time a wise person once told me "A watched pot never boils" 8-) -
Everyone does realize that in the same or possibly very next tweet he reiterated that they are still tuning everything. 20% is not fact at this point, it's just where they were with it at that moment in time. let's just wait to play the game before we demand retuning or "nerfing" of guns or perks geeeminy criminy

Jimmy's twitter background
The Clay Bird replied to kingsly zzissou's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I'm reading that book currently, and have yet to really see anything groundbreaking relating to possible zombies connections... perhaps it won't make any sense until after we've played some BO2 zombs.... idk? :ugeek:
