Letters from the Field - Photos & Videos from Pre-Origins
ZombieOfTheDead replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
Yeah... no. So much more in the letters suggests this is before that. Tak's dreams for instance, and Nikolai talking more of his country in a civil war and women. Dempsey sounds like he just fought a battle against regular people. I think they'd probably mention fighting the undead if it was during the outbreak. -
Why is it that everyone wants to make this into an alternate version of the past? That would completely defeat the purpose of it being an ORIGIN story, and also IMO just complicate things more than necessary. It would be better for this to just be a prequel, and just continue on with both the N4 and O4 in the next game, and I suspect that's what treyarch would do because there are fans of both, and most probably don't give a crap if they can just play the game. But lets look at the title again, ORIGINS. I think it's just a prequel, no more, no less.

He could've arrived at the site- which is in fact a war zone. He may have been tasked with actually fighting in the war in order to get to the actual ruin. They do have a crap ton of trenches there, that's a sign of conflict going on, and it was rare that ground was actually taken by either side in this war because people would just be gunned down. It took months to win battles, allowing Germany to continue it's excavation. -

There's a war going on, you realize. Not exactly the easiest to cross No Man's Land. It's possible they've been waiting months just to be able to move. Nikolai technically isn't even involved in the battle, so he's probably waiting it out, while Dempsey and Takeo are actually out fighting in the war waiting for the right moment. -

Because weapons in zombies don't really matter much. -
Confused about why MMX is against time travel when yesterday he was pretty much all for it... Oh well, not complaining. Honestly, Time Travel is only really valid for Maxis and Samantha (though I'm doubting she was alive then). Everyone else easily looks 27 years younger in origins.

Reimagined Through The Eyes Of One's Future Self
ZombieOfTheDead replied to EvilHERONeos's topic in Origins
Yeah... no. It's a prequel, and after pressing the button the blinking and such of the EE resets. Why does everyone and their mother assume that the lights re-set it means it's over? Think about it: If you push the button for richtofen and you got your reward, then died, wouldn't you want the same award again? They reset everything for the replay-ability value... Otherwise one would have to complete all the easter eggs again for maxis, and then do the same again for richtofen... It's still possible the next map can be effected by the button.... Heck, Samantha is in argartha, where did maxis want to open? Argartha.... Who's telling the story of origins? Samantha.... Would I want my reward again? After those Easter Eggs... hell no. I think it's over, and even if it's being told by Samantha I don't think that would have any effect on the map. -

Is the seasons pass worth it?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to Your Dearest Sailor's topic in General Zombies Discussion
It really depends on how much you play zombies. I guess if you don't want it, go origins and MotD. -
I feel like the Maxis Junior/Senior thing doesn't make sense in some ways. I mean, what would be the real purpose of a second Maxis? He'd just die right away and serve little purpose. In which case, they showed us a picture of an unimportant character versus one that has served a purpose almost since the beginning. On the plus side, I've found the perfect actor for him if they ever made a movie I'm seriously wondering if they based Maxis off Jeff Bridges in iron man... or Esbern in skyrim.

Eh, I doubt Treyarch would have actually answered any story-related questions anyway. They love to be cryptic. I think they would've answered some things, like why the O4 went to shi no numa and such (or rather, who told them to go there). They would never give away future zombie map possibilities, but perhaps minor fill in the blank details they could have. -

Speaking of the CoD XP thing, was anyone else kinda pissed that most of the people asked kinda stupid questions? Like we could really have found out alot in the story from that, but hardly anyone asked something interesting. -
My "Oh S&#T!" Momments of Origins Cinematic Trailer.
ZombieOfTheDead replied to Jeager1999's topic in Origins
It's no more different than people switching because they don't like the character. Plus, it could be done as a sort of power up instead, meaning since it goes away fairly quickly most wouldn't switch characters just for a short power up. -

Who said they would have equal stats? Maybe Tank has speed on his side, Nikolai has brute force, Takeo has a balance, and Richtofen... can't come up with anything for the saw. -

Yeah, I pretty much agree. Tak did say he slaughtered them for their insolence, so take that however you like. I feel like based on his personality he should have had a decent reason, but it could have just been for not supporting the emperor. +1 on Samantha also. I have a feeling all of the outbreaks related to her were solely to kill richtofen or preventing anything related to 935 to be uncovered. She doesn't want to kill just to kill, but to prevent anything else bad from happening. -
It's the beard, man. Even when you're 80 you still get all the chicks, because dat beard. LOL, but It's possible though. I mean he did have this idea that Sophia was attracted to him but could of been all in his head so naturally he had a thing for young girls.....Okay not that young, say in early 20's Yeah yeah, early 20s makes sense. Maxis is minimum 50 it looks like in the picture, unless his hair is blond. It's not unthinkable that he was a father in his 60s, but just seems so unlikely. And even if he was 50, he'd be 77 by 1945. That really seems a stretch to me in that era.

He's also the first one to see it, and is behind a table. He could've dodged backwards. Either that, or does someone want some good old German Jelly?

Oh I see, so he probably committed a war crime is what you're saying because of his sort of war mongering personality? Makes sense, I suppose. Just read his biography. It screams war crime. It kinda does, I can imagine he probably killed a few unarmed/ surrendered soldiers. Either way, compared to the others he has the least demons by far. Thanks for clarifying about the war crime thing btw. -

Takeo and Maxis both are oddballs in the age department... in Taks case, he fought in the battle of mukden (do I have that right?) in 1905, so he would be in his 30s minimum. He could pull off being like 57 later on, though. I've seen people around that age who have the same sort of aged face without grey hair. In Maxis's case, he is an old fart to begin with. I'm interested to see how he plays out. The others I don't believe would time travel, but he could well be the only one (thus explaining why he might not be in the map). As for the other inconsistencies... lol. Expect the eyes and maybe the robots to be answered, but weapons are always in inconsistent time periods in zombies. One explanation is that some of them could have been developed early by 935.

Wait wah? What war crimes did Tank commit? -
I have a feeling Richtofen is like Franken Stein from Soul Eater at this stage of his life. Both have madness that awakens within them when around blood and such. They're both curious scientists who love to dissect things, I guess. The only difference is Stein knows how to keep that madness in check for the most part. Richtofen clearly feels bad for experimenting, or doesn't even realize what he did or why. Or I could be horribly wrong and he has as much bloodlust as ever.

No, five was in Stalin's time based on Nikolai's bio. Besides, this is when he's in like his mid 20s. Nikolai just gets around with alot of women. Oh yeah that's right. So he was banised from Russia... twice Well this first time seems like it's for more of a reason then sending him on the front lines. They did give him the mission to go to Origins after all ;) -
You mean to signify that she's been smoking a ton since moon? It's not quite her demonic announcer voice, and certainly isn't her regular, and women do not normally sound like that. I guess we'll see.
