Letters from the Field - Photos & Videos from Pre-Origins
ZombieOfTheDead replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
On one hand, origins may not have actually occurred yet, but... just why on earth would you think that they would be captured in WWI? That makes pretty much no sense given how young they are. I'm honestly thinking the dates are kinda off, but we won't really know until we play the map. It could be the original letters aren't actually from our characters. They could have sent others first, or at least it seems that way with Tak. -
The 1996 sign in Die Rise.
ZombieOfTheDead replied to TheRealMistyBriarton's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Ok.... riddle me this then if they're time travelers. If the earth was almost completely destroyed with most of the people wiped out, then why is it that a completely new building was built way after the 60s? Presumably the posters wouldn't be anything fancy anymore either, why would anybody have time for these when they're trying to survive? Yeah, after 1996 for everything. You see, nothing COULD be built after the zombies and the blown up earth. It's just crazy to think otherwise. There would be no purpose to time travel and then go back either. I mean, there wouldn't be anything new, so why go? You're overthinking it -
....No. No time travel. There is no need to make anything else more confusing than it must be. Origins will be fine if it just stays in it's own time.
-
It won't matter for origins, bt if you want to do the last part of the easter egg for buried you need all of one color. Maxis is red, Richtofen is blue. Origins is completely separate from what I will call the N4 trilogy.

What do you guys think of Origins at the moment?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to Fluxanda's topic in Origins
Just because it has a tank that moves around the map does not make it a tranzit remake.... Doesn't even seem integral to getting around. Seriously, don't even doubt them in this one. This is pretty much what everyone wanted. -
Okay, lets place their ages based on appearance. Dempsey looks pretty much anywhere from 25 to 50. He is clearly the youngest with the least wrinkles and signs of age. His hair has gotten lighter since WWI. He again looks the youngest in origins, and is probably in his early 20s I mean, compared to the others he still looks fairly fresh faced. Lets face it, military guys are often the toughest of the tough, especially marines. He must have still been exceptional later on in life, and his lower rank could be due to him wanting to be on the front lines Nikolai looks late 40s to mid 50s, judging from his wrinkly Russian face. As for why he's still in the army, look to the bios. He was dropped on the front lines because of Stalin's fear of him. Takeo can't be much more than 50, but given his japanese heritage and his skill in battle he probably chose to just stay in the army. Fairly simple. Richtofen is clearly the oldest with the streaks of grey in his hair. Probably mid to late 50s, maybe even into his 60s. He is supposedly a general based on the rank on his shoulder. He is the least surprising. Honestly the only surprising one would be Dempsey, but really in the campaign for BO2 they had 58 year olds that looked younger than Dempsey going on dangerous missions, so it isn't hard to believe that Dempsey would be this age.

FEAR RUVA! What, no not again!!!!
ZombieOfTheDead replied to Wooodd's topic in General Zombies Discussion
This time I'm not going overboard in arguing this. It was a good theory to try to make it work, but it is most definitely a coincidence. Even the BO1 map packs were. The real meaning of the map packs were like this: First Strike: The Start of the fight. The Beginning Escalation: The fight grows further, or the goal is nearer. Annihilation: The end of the fight, where whoever lost is annihilated Rezzurection: The defeated come back stronger, or a new fight begins In other words, it's a cycle based on war or battle. That is the real easter egg of the map packs. Fear was just an irony. I guess you could say you should fear the cycle of war. It's kinda similar with the BO2 maps, but I won't explain it as well so I won't bother. -
I actually like most of the BO2 weapons better than the BO weapons, but yeah they shouldn't be there for past maps like MotD and Origins. World War II weapons were by far the best (and may I say, unique in comparison to most zombie games).

What do you guys think of Origins at the moment?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to Fluxanda's topic in Origins
I can already tell it's the best map of BO2 based on the setting, atmosphere, and characters. It has a WaW feel to it, and that can't lose. Mob of the Dead came close to that, but couldn't quite reach it. -
whats your favorite map, and explain why?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to Wingsofwar50's topic in General Zombies Discussion
There are too damn many to talk about... you're killin meh. 1: Once upon a time Shi No Numa was my all time favorite map. It had a beautiful environment, was the first non nazi map as well as the first map with the O4, and had a huge focus on fun. Really, camping out in those buildings was the highlight of WaW for me. The black ops version killed it, though, and I've lost my desire to really play it. Also, only one of my friends has WaW, and there aren't randoms playing it anymore, so I really couldn't get the full experience anyways. 2: Call of the Dead is another. Like Shi No Numa, it has a cool (haha puns), unique environment. The easter egg was one of the best because it wasn't frustrating and had to do with our favorite 4. George also presented us with fun, forced us to change up strategy to not shoot him. 3: Moon or buried, not really sure which. Both really just stepped up their game in adding alot, and that makes me enjoy them. Moon's easter egg is nicer that buried's, however. Damn target practice... Also, Der Riese and Ascension were never really that great. Fun, but both get pretty stale. Especially now when all maps pretty much have everything in those and more. -
[POLL] Worst Special Enemy?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to TheNathanNS's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Lol... well they are. Just gotta avoid the gas. No,they aren't.And for a single reason:I can't see 'em,and when I see it's already too late;BO1's Aim Assist makes a mess with my FOV and...BOOM!I'm dead  Well, adapt then. They were never annoying to me, and I never died like that, so I still don't quite get it. The phasing zombies on moon on the other hand... with their teleportation and the small hallways they were hard NOT to get killed by. Good thing you can avoid those by avoiding that area. -

I feel like there's a bullet crossing my heart right now...Give me a sec :? Lol... well they are. Just gotta avoid the gas. -
[POLL] Worst Special Enemy?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to TheNathanNS's topic in General Zombies Discussion
The only real annoying ones are Denizens and space monkeys for me. Denizens because everyone knows why... they are just so bullshit and annoying combined with the lava and red fog, not to mention the distance you have to run to go from one place to another. Monkeys because of the perk stealing. I just don't like the risk involved. It's easy to avoid the astronaut, but you can't evade the monkeys. IMO everything else is just complaining to complain, with maybe the ghosts and pentagon thief being exceptions. It's easy to avoid almost everything else (though there are occasions where napalm/george/astronauts can be a bitch, doesn't mean they're that annoying). Dogs are easy, nova crawlers are easy, and jumping jacks... fun, but difficult -
The vorkuta thing. One of them was ascend from darkness and such. I think people thought it related to an easter egg or how the story played out or something
-
Everyone did, but fear ruva, fear teddy, etc. would have nothing to do with a completely different map. There was at least some evidence that we would go to the moon (why would richtofen be wearing a flight suit in ascension?) It was crazy of course, but was not blown out of proportion. Everyone just thought it was a stupid idea to go to the moon until the map was actually announced, and then it looked like it could be done well. There is a point where it is just completely stupid, like the Reznov steps and FEAR whatever. It just doesn't have any impact in the story whatsoever. Even if it told us to fear something, WHO is the person that was telling us this? For all we know FEAR RUSS could have been from a zombies perspective telling people to fear Russman. It's just silly dude.
-
I agree with you, but I just want to point out a few things. 1. It was the last letter of every maps respective mode, not the maps themselves. 2. That said, that is the reason Nuketown was not included. It does not have a special mode, only Survival. But yes, there is no correlation between FEAR TEDDS, FEAR RUVA, FEAR SAM, etc. The pattern was not continued in Black Ops 2. I kind of think that explanation is bs even still, just due to the last letter being obscure, and personally I count the so called mode the map because it's actually the full map, but I'm not going to argue that since i'll lose and everyone knows it. Alot is likely coincidence, but people on this site overthink alot, which is okay in some cases, but stupid in others. Think of how many of those improbable theories are complete bonkers just based on one thing someone saw. It might not even be important, but people blow it way out of proportion. Also, the stupid Reznov 8 steps? Yeah, they had subtle references, but it's not like most of those really meant anything to the story (I'm referring to the other references in the campaign as well. The site is about theories, AND having fun, but you have to crack down on things some times. In cases like this theory, which seems stupid to many, people tend to crack down harder.
-
Not sure how you got me when I specifically said with the N4 in it. Is that supposed to be a rule for this "theory"? Mob of the Dead didn't, either. I didn't say it's a "rule". I just personally don't count that map in this theory. Since Mob of the Dead is counted, and we do not play as the N4 there, I got you, and btw just because YOU don't count that map doesn't mean it shouldn't be counted
-
None of them are wearing the same uniform. In fact, richtofen isn't wearing a uniform at all, Nikolai has a sort of pilot suit, and Takeo's sticks out from dempsey in the collar area, and various other ways
-
It's obviously this robot teddy bear that wants to kill us all via lead poisoning. Gosh! The lack of common sense! But going seriously, that one was even more bullshit than RUVA. I mean, the LAST letter in every zombie map in BO2 with the FIRST letter in BO map packs. Not to mention, they left out nuketown zombies. Why does everyone say that about Nuketown Zombies when it did not feature the N4 as playable? And Mob of the Dead did? Got ya. Any other way you explain it will basically come out as BS to me.
-
It has to be a prequel, based on their differing appearance and the fact that Richtofen is present. As such, they could do anything from explaining the discovery of 115 to having the characters meet for the first time. Since it's supposed to be a cinematic, it should be like Nacht,Five, COTD, and MOTD did it, actually cinematic instead of a comic book.

I don't think you know what an easter egg is. It's something hidden that you find, but it was basically a coincidence in this case. Usually easter eggs mean things, but it just spelled out a word.
-
Okay yeah, I was a derp, and somehow missed the part where you said there was no reason to discuss it anymore. Despite that, it was a silly idea way back when, and its even sillier now.
-
I'm sorry, but WHERE was there an easter egg? They spelled out Fear. Whoppdi doo. Might not have even been intentional. Even then, fear meant absolutely nothing, so why would ruva mean anything either? You can't really get anything out of two words like this, so it's completely pointless and stupid to speculate about. I really wouldn't say clueless idiots, but why people care about this when it's absolutely meaningless does make me wonder...

Do you guys REALLY want new Zombies after this?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to killbaoy1537's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yeah, not quite sure how zombies would work as a full game in the format it's in. A campaign would ruin the spirit I think, and would just be no fun over all, but in map format you really can't progress maps. Not to mention, making all the makes different and with more features each time is virtually impossible. I want more zombies, but it does need to stay within another game. It really couldn't work on it's own.
