Oh lord that video was not my best work. While I think Treyarch dropped the ball a bit on the origins of the crawlers, I still believe that they are human. Even still, I gotta love Tac's thinking on this. I saw something that said they were the like mutated Vril-ya. Is this true? Or are they perhaps children or something? Babies that were mutated and their eyes didn't develop yet? I'm totally confused. I don't know if they're either. They wear pants with a belt, so highly doubt with babies. Same with vril-ya, because... well we don't know what they wear, but I doubt they wear belts like that.

Untrue, all activison needs is to get another company working on the engine while the others continue making CoD. I suspect now they're waiting for the new consoles till they even think about a new engine, however.

A Place of Madness (ZOTD's Verruckt)
ZombieOfTheDead replied to ZombieOfTheDead's topic in Zombie Stories
Chapter 3: The Insane “Damn… I was thirsty,” he said in dismay. Sanders put his hand to his face. A time like this and he’s thinking about drinks. Yeah, that’s John Banana for you. Worked in a tex mex cabana, and can’t help but stay thirsty. “I take that as a yes. Put your weapons in an easy to find place, and…” Dempsey’s voice trailed off as they heard yet another scream, and then another sound, a strange one at that. It pulled itself out of the ground, ever steadily. The marines just watched. Dempsey shook off the petrifying feeling, and pulled out his M1911. Before it could fully spring out of the ground, the undead Nazi, almost human but for the eyes, had caught a bullet in his skull. Pulling up his Colt, Dempsey shot them as fast as they got up, but due to the inaccuracy missed much of the time. He decided to wait until one got closer. The anticipation killed him as he readied his knife. The zombie stumbled forward, toward the box like room Dempsey had been standing in. “Oh look, another customer,” he said, pulling the knife out of the corpse. “You’ve got a pretty face, zombie.” It’s head rose up as if in appreciation. It had a bandage over it’s head, as if it had had surgery. The pale complexion, yellow eyes, and slight signs of decay didn’t help make the undead Nazi any less creepy. Sanders brought up his pistol, trying to ignore the blood and severed hand by the dentist chair behind him. From behind the burning forest came another walker, arms waving by the sides of its body, creeping closer. He took aim, and fired his whole clip to its chest. About five shots hit, not enough to finish it. He reloaded, and fired three more, one which missed, another that hit its chest, and a final that hit his head. He sighed with relief. “Hell yeah!” he shouted, and then reloaded. He glanced to the right, and noticed a Nazi, who seemed almost as if to goosestep in a zombie like fashion. John panicked, and went over to the right side of the rectangle shaped room. He brought up his pistol again, and fired straight for its head before it could get to the window situated in the next room. A splatter of blood was left on the tan walls. At the sight of the blood, he reacted in an even more panicked fashion. He felt a tapping on his shoulder, and jumped, causing him to fire a shot off. He turned around to find John, who had backed away at the gunshot. “Oh fuck yes! The guns are here, too!” Smokey shouted to the others. He went up to the outline, and hit it. Below his feet was a M1903 Springfield, a bolt action rifle. He picked it up, returning his colt to its holster. He felt a slight drain in energy. “Hey guys, check out on your side, by the door. You see a chalk message that says the power will reunite you on your side?” Sanders asked, investigating the area. “We’re figuring that out, in the mean time find something to keep yourselves busy without causing something outside,” Sanders finished. Great, the hell am I supposed to do, thought John, as he slide down the wall using his back. Guess just in case I don’t make it out of this, I should write something. [tab][/tab]He pulled out his pack, taking out a pen and paper. At first, he couldn’t think of what to say. Then he thought, I should make this more interesting… make this a poem. Short. I’ll keep writing them as we go along. He knew what to write, and tried to make it sound as great as he could. Despite the scary, anxious feeling Killing walking dead is appealing My first kill felt great Felt like my first date Kicking their brains right up to the ceiling. _____________________________________________________ Just a short chapter here. I'll try my best to make these as exciting as possible, but until later chapters I feel as though not much is going to happen. I'll see, though. Thanks much! Yeah, it's kind of more of what I think happens. Others think that Dempsey was captured first (and that actually has more evidence), but that is hard to put into a story, especially if NDU is put in. Overall, I think this way makes more sense. Thanks, and I know. I'm just going to go with what I think happened, and not care what others think. Also, funny you mentioned how we have no clue how they got to ascension... heh, that's gonna be a lovely one to figure out. I still have no freakin clue. @ the other 2, Thanks a ton! And, well, guess I already am a creative writer ;) -
Then get the skin. I have viewed that more times than I can count, that is DEFINITELY humanoid. I'm just not going to get into this Nova 6 argument... to me, Nova 6 and zombies were completely separate projects. If the crawler gas was Nova 6, we'd have died as soon as we got exposed to it. This looks more like mind control than anything to do with Nova 6, and the barrels suggest to me portable zombies. Makes sense, easier than throwing a piece of 115 into the battlefield and hoping fallen soldiers will rise.

Yeah, what's up with that? Maybe the area just couldn't handle that much detail where he originally was? I honestly have no clue...
-
Just a theory, but maybe the two dolls that are on the map signify their respective character's importance? Just throwin that out there.
-
Suit yourself. Get a close up. You'll see it, trust me. If not, well why don't we see monkey's running around Kino? Some of the barrels are open and knocked over, Which I assume is how the outbreak at Kino began.
-
They are not chimpanzees. They have human faces. That much is clear to me. How was I being disrespectful? EDIT: Okay, I guess saying that they looked nothing like aliens is the only think even remotely disrespectful in there, but it's not like it was even intended as such. While I'm at it, I must point out the fact that any kind of monkey has a distinct nose compared to humans. That is definitely a human nose.

Shi no numa, Kino der toten, or Moon. Shi no numa just looks cool, has fun camping, is pretty hard generally (I'm talking about the WaW version), and introduced alot, including the first big part of the story (verruckt really only had the wall). Kino because it's easy and simple, yet just overall a fun experience. Moon, because it has EVERYTHING. Screw Der Riese, if there is a perfect zombie map it is this. I love the EE, zero gravity, and just all around everything.
-
Yes, they are zombies. They look nothing like aliens, and can't be the crawlers, because they have faces. The looks on their faces also suggest to me that they're zombies, along with a tiny bit of blood on the barrel.
-
He said it. Cool. It could have meant like a temporary rift, but who knows? The real question is how exactly he got that rift, if it wasn't temporary, to teleport them to CotD.
-
This. It's the only EE I haven't done, but I don't think he says that....
-
This leads me to believe differently about Moon. If they were teleported by an unseen force, they would have made reference to it. But, how they got across the ocean is a mystery. While we're on this subject, I think at one point the COD wiki said that they returned to Ascension and used to rocket to get to the Moon! There's a freaking teleporter right there! Oh ho, there's another point. But ha, CoD wiki is so stupid at times :D
-
Say what? But wouldn't that be a random teleportation? But Richtofen took them there on purpose. That rift in the sky can't just randomly teleport them to CotD... could it?

Richtofen discussion thread?
ZombieOfTheDead replied to thasqueakyb's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I think he was sane before the Pyramid, but still a sadist. The bios I actually do think are reliable. Richtofen even quotes about being a sadist before the war at some points. I guess the pyramid just gave him schizophrenia, the high pitched voice (which he hid in the Der Riese radios), and maybe some other distinct features. Like tac said, he was probably playing dumb at some points with Maxis. I imagine he might have actually purposefully sabotaged the teleporter to slow what Maxis discovered. Finally, 115 is probably closer to Samantha's point of view than Richtofen's. Just saying. You could still work on the theory, though. It could actually pertain to him as well. -
New breakthrough in SNN location! [UPDATE]

It's not ignorance, it's called being stubborn. I've been known for it. But now that I've cooled down a little, it could go either way. Anyways, I think Treyarch intended it to be actual Japan initially. I don't know that they had any reason to change that, but I'm going to say it's in Japan or very close to it (so basically I'll accept the idea of it being in Manchuria). Not New Guinea, though. I think that's a little far off, and the only evidence for that really is the ambiance. -

yeah, it is. Read the edit. Incorrect. The correct definition is a series of countries under the control of a single monarch country. The area is considered Manchuria (or Manchukuo, what the japanese DID call it) to the japanese. They would not call that place japan, because it isn't japan. It's a part of their empire, but it isn't japan. EDIT: Just read that Manchuria was considered a puppet state. Publicly the Manchurians had control, but really the japanese did. Therefore it wasn't really their country, but they controlled it secretly. -

Map of the Japanese EMPIRE. Keyword there. EMPIRE. Japan you can clearly see points to the island right there. Did you not even read what I said above? I said that the Japanese wouldn't consider any area but Japan actual Japan! They hated China, they would never consider that Japan. Just a tool to get more resources. The Japanese Empire IS Japan. Same thing. No, it's not. The japanese empire is what Japan has controlled. It is not japan. Japan is a series of 4 big islands and several smaller ones. Japan wouldn't consider anything else japan, just a part of their empire, because they consider themselves the master race. Wouldn't calling a foreign land that they hate as Japan bring them dishonor? -

New breakthrough in SNN location! [UPDATE]

Well, if there are zombies there, unless they were delivered and didn't kill anyone, an outbreak has happened. Small outbreaks, most likely, but small outbreaks are outbreaks none the less. I would guess that happened in any place pieces of the Tunguska meteor went. I also think NDU was used as a test site for that, hence they were already there. Hence why there are so many German trucks, and why there are helmets and ammo boxes from the original outbreak there. Also, Shi no numa's outbreak. I believe that 935 wanted to hide any ties to them in that area, considering that area was controlled by the Japanese government. So anyways, they sabotaged that area in the summer, unleashing zombies, and capturing Takeo. -

Was india called Britain when it was controlled by the british? No. It was considered a part of it's empire, but wasn't britian. Same basic thing here. The japanese would never consider that Japan, only what they have conquered. It was a part of their empire, but it was not Japan. They hate the chinese. Why on earth would they want to consider the chinese land their land? It would bring them "dishonor." And it makes ZERO sense that verruckt is the first outbreak. How did they discover the zombies? Hm? There was an outbreak before that. Where? I have no clue. That was because it was a part of a British Colony and their influence in India was because of the East India Company, not the British government. The Government influenced the East India Company which influenced India, since it controlled very much of the region. And when CONQUERED land is taken, it becomes part of that country. Like in WW2 when the Germans took over a place, it became part of Germany. Did the Germans ever refer to France as Germany? No. It was still France. They don't even refer to it as Germany. And my point still stands with India and Britian. They still controlled it, technically, and it was not considered britian. No. If the romans captured an area it would be considered a part of their empire. Doesn't mean it was specifically called rome. For the outbreaks, it just literally seems impossible to me that it is the first outbreak. If there is zombies in an area, that area has had an outbreak. If they discovered zombies before hand, then they have had an outbreak before that. -

Just scenes from campaign. Except for CotD in solo, that actually does pertain. -
